2541  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Trendon Shavers - Family Contact made on: September 29, 2012, 09:06:52 PM
Does nobody simply give him a visit as now all his infos are public ( name, adress...) For such amount in many place over the world you will get some shootg.. front your face and you ( pirate) will be more available for a talk... I know radical way are not the best blabla... but sometime for big money its the best way anyway... Pirate could just pay some fucking good lawers ( he will do ) and make you waiting for years before to be out of usa...

What you're suggesting has been suggested many times before in pirate threads (and in Bitcoinica threads, too, for that matter).  What on earth makes you think that confronting pirate face to face would lead to any payments?  Sure, you could threaten him but he lives in Texas which happens to have stand your ground laws and he could easily claim that he was fearful enough of whoever turned up to threaten him to justify shooting them. In fact, the stuff which has been posted in this board regarding doing things to his family could even be used to back up any claim on his part that he felt someone turning up on his doorstep posed a legitimate threat to his family.

You're naive if you think that everyone just rolls over in the face of intimidation.

When I'm a well known musician, towards the end of the year, these debts won't be a problem, just as they're not a problem now.

You really think that you're going to become a well known musician by the end of the year?  Or even by the end of next year?

The idea that you're going to become wildly successful within months has been a common theme in your requests for money.  You said something similar when you were soliciting funds for a car, when you wanted money for a motorcycle, and when you wanted people to give you money so you could rent a house.  You actually have your house now and yet those thousands you predicted you'd be making within months of getting a house don't seem to be rolling in.  You claim to now have land as well.  Why hasn't the success you stated would happen within months of you getting a house happened?

Your hookah lounge venture alone has gone from something which was going to happen within a month to something which was going to happen before the end of this year to something which will now "happen in time".  It's literally taken less than a month for you to go from the hookah lounge being your immediate project to it being a "whenever" thing, which doesn't speak well for your ability to remain committed to anything.

'good_citizen' had about 50% of the SA talent to himself, but he's gone.

FuriousxGeorge's PinkiePie troll deserves an honourable mention.
2544  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Re: Butterfly Labs CEO 25 Million USD Mail Fraud — A Concise Summary of Evidence on: September 29, 2012, 01:12:07 AM
I was under the impression that he was an SA goon for a long time.  I guess on the basis of his initial icon thingy (I never can remember what those are called.)  I go back-n-forth on it.  It would be a pretty high-quality goon-ish achievement to embed as deeply as he and influence people to get conned.  That would be good for some lulz so you've swung me to considering the 'is-SA' hypothesis once again.  It's hard to imagine anyone expending such an effort, but everybody has their callings in life I guess so it seems possible.

Poe's law.

Who in their right fucking mind borrows at 23k% 4.9 million motherfucking percent per annum anyway?!

The same kind of people who borrow from loan sharks in the real world.

Fast food joints man..... best place to steal all the toilet paper..

The toilet paper dispensers they have in fast food joints here would make it difficult to steal by the roll - you'd have to break the lock and then conceal a huge ass roll of toilet paper.  A lot of them no longer even have the condiments, napkins and plastic cutlery where customers can access it without being seen.  You either have to ask the staff for it or it's at the register so there's limited opportunity to take large amounts.

2547  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Intersango Exchange on: September 28, 2012, 09:35:28 PM
Could somebody please explain to me exactly why Intersango should be accused of money laundering and drugsale?

Intersango was aware some time ago that there was a guy using his Intersango account to receive payments for drugs.  It's been posted about before on the board and the posts elsewhere which gave his specific account information were linked.  The Intersango account information for the individual concerned can be found in the thread Phin linked to back in July.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=63877.msg1053283#msg1053283

Even if they were not aware of that information, it's still on them to ensure that people using their bank account are doing so for a lawful purpose and that they know the identities of people using their bank account.

The legal responsibility for the use of a bank account rests with it's owner.  If I agree to put a cheque through my bank account for a friend and that cheque turns out to be stolen/forged, that comes back on me.  If someone asks me if they can keep money in my bank account and the funds they deposit into my account turn out to be the proceeds of crime, that comes back on me - that person is money laundering and I'm am facilitating it.

Before investing in this venture I need to know whether you play guitar.

LOL.... Dank is some young dude that's running a bank and he likes toking...

And he's had a small degree of success in getting people to fund his living expenses while he practises guitar.

He apparently has access to free toilet paper, too.

Jackie should really team up with dank.
2552  Other / Meta / Re: Why do moderators close threads with ongoing discussion? on: September 28, 2012, 08:11:46 PM
I'm wondering also about the dicussions not to support the Bitcoin Foundation of some members here. they realy don't understand the mind behind Open Source.

You're assuming that there's some kind of commonality of goals in this community, which isn't really true - which is why the setting up of Bitcoin organisations which do have specific goals will ultimately be a good thing.

You have people in this community for whom Bitcoin represents an ideology.  You have others for whom it's simply a low cost payment protocol.  Then you have others who view it purely as a means of getting rich - they don't care whether it's open source, they don't care whether it becomes a viable currency, they don't care about any political ideology.

There's no "one true way" to do Bitcoin.  Bitcoin is just a tool and what it ultimately becomes will depend a great deal on how it's used.
2553  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: [ANN] Bitcoin Foundation on: September 28, 2012, 07:59:38 PM
Its not a complicated structure to understand and you can create your own foundation to help further Bitcoin.

Will Gavin leave your Foudation and join mine?

Would it be necessary for Gavin to leave one in order to participate in the other?  It's not unusual for causes to have multiple organisations set up to promote them and for each organisation to have a different focus.  It's also not unusual for those organisations to have some degree of common membership, at least when the number of organisations is still small.
2554  Other / Meta / Re: Why do moderators close threads with ongoing discussion? on: September 28, 2012, 07:46:11 PM

so you are trying to say this forum does not represent Bitcoin? My guess was it is the official forum to represent Bitcoin? Not anymore?

You guessed wrong.  It was deliberately separated from bitcoin.org because it's not any kind of official representative of Bitcoin.  It's essentially a fan site which has no official endorsement.
2555  Economy / Lending / Re: 3000-6000 BTC loan - Hookah Lounge - 9/18/12 Update on: September 28, 2012, 06:56:20 PM
Just the $5000.  I've been busy with guitar lately.  I'm not in a hurry though, the hookah lounge will come.

Wait, someone seriously invested $5000 in this project??  Who in the world was that?

Someone has apparently promised to give him $5000 if he raises $20,000.
2556  Economy / Lending / Re: 3000-6000 BTC loan - Hookah Lounge - 9/18/12 Update on: September 28, 2012, 09:03:42 AM
Despite the obsessive attempts by folks like repentence to grind some axe on the topic of the Church of Scientology, I prefer to keep the details of my spiritual beliefs private and have done so here.

What a bunch of crap.  You were actively shilling for Narconon in the Dank Glass thread.  You prefer to keep your beliefs "private" when it suits you. You were trotting out your "mental illness is a spiritual disease and not a real thing" dogma in this thread before Scientology was even mentioned.  You've also tried to solicit money on this forum to have Battlefield Earth released on Bluray.  That's hardly keeping your spiritual beliefs private.

Reading all these things about Kharma and considering dank's views on disorders etc., I've already thought of recommending Scientology myself.

Then he could blame other people's counter intentions, considerations, overts and entheta for his postulates failing to manifest.
2557  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Satoshi dumped Bitcoin right after Gavin announced he was going to the CIA. on: September 28, 2012, 08:33:16 AM
Someone should ask Gavin why Satoshi became anonymous. If the answer isn't because of fear from power, Atlas is right in that Gavin does not have the same "vision" of what bitcoin is that Satoshi does.

Satoshi didn't "become" anonymous - he was always anonymous.

Satoshi's vision of Bitcoin is a simple one.  The role of the devs has been to develop the official client in accordance with that vision - nothing more and nothing less.

There is a large amount of misinformation, slander, and confusion about the views of the Church. I am giving you the official position of the Church of Scientology because you mentioned them.  If you want to debate their views you should perhaps start your own thread for that instead of derailing Dank's.

No, the official position is what's written in CoS doctrine, not your interpretation of it.  No verbal tech, remember.  The texts and lectures I referenced are the official CoS view - they were written/recorded by LRH himself.  I did not comment on the validity or otherwise of CoS views.  I called you out for knowingly mis-representing what those views are - are you seriously going to argue that LRH did not write/say those things?

And the only person who has derailed threads even more than dank himself is you.

Kudos for not just having the self-awareness to realise what you were doing but for also having the balls to admit it.
2560  Economy / Lending / Re: 3000-6000 BTC loan - Hookah Lounge - 9/18/12 Update on: September 28, 2012, 06:37:20 AM
I'm surprised that Rarity hasn't signed dank up for the Sea Org given that his basic belief system is extremely similar to that of Scientology (they just use different jargon).

The Church of Scientology, which I may or may not be a member of, recognizes the germ theory of disease and the dangers of physical toxins.  Scientifically backed medical treatment is recommended.  Psychiatric diseases are rightfully recognized for the made up hoodoo that they are but diseases such as autism or cancer are not included among them as they have physical causes.

Some of Dank's beliefs, for instance the sickness of our souls, are superficially similar but the Church believes in rigorous work to cleanse people's souls for spiritual and mental health, not that we can wish away our problems or that a baby is born with a physical disease for a spiritual cause.

I think finding an organized spiritual group, any such group, would be very good for Dank.  The collective spiritual wisdom and sense of community is essential for putting yourself on a path towards spiritual growth.

That's some of the most inaccurate verbal tech I've seen in a long time.  Scientologists absolutely believe in spiritual causes of physical illness and that physical illness can be overcome by spiritual means.  Re-read A History of Man if you don't believe me.  Or All About Radiation.  In HoM, Hubbard literally claims that auditing the GE "alters physical structure, eradicates physical malformations".  Do you want me to go on about body thetans and physical illness?  Start quoting HCOBs?

In fact, why not let LRH speak for himself on how to cure blindness?
