You better spend time convincing suchmoon. I wish someday you will realise that people are giving zero value to your words.

2563  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Self development and BitcoinTalk [Must read for new members] on: May 17, 2018, 01:33:34 PM

Hi HabBear,
Thanks for the information mate however I would like to keep everything that is happening in bitcoinTalk. I do not want to end up promoting someone else's channel however it's an awesome channel by the way.

Does he have a BitcoinTalk account? if he has then I am sure he is creating great contents here. I would like to see his profile here.
2564  Other / Meta / Re: Ban the 3rd world non english speakers on: May 17, 2018, 01:15:01 PM
Ban accounts with IPs from china, russia, venzuela, indonesia, india, etc = home of the scammers.

WE need to get rid of these broken english speaking scammers!!!!!.

The best solution is to just remove signatures completely.   In most of the threads, no actual conversation even takes place.  It's just people posting their few lines for their signature  campaigns.   Bitcointalk would be 100x better without signatures.  Keep this place for real conversations, crypto lovers, and not 3rd world crypto scammers.

You need to show some respects to the citizens no matter where the hack they came from. This forum is not your father's inheritance. Who gave you the right to shit around here with whatever you want? Who the fuck you are?

You moron can't do anything to improve even for yourself and here you came with a shit suggestion. Go back to your mother's womb you ass hole.

And excuse if I am wrong, I guess Jet Cash or The pharmacist - one of them really likes melon.

Another newbie wondering... Earlier I replied to a newbie and I guess the same message I have for you as well.

Well, since you are a newbie, I suggest you explore the forum for first few months.
Watch, read and engage. Improve your skills.
There are people including me learnt a lot (we are still learning) which we did not even have any clue! You can review one of my topic to see the things I have gained from BitcoinTalk and some others appreciations.
Self development and BitcoinTalk [Must read for new members]

Welcome to the forum.

Good to see that finally you have realised the benefits. From your post history, I have not seen anything yet until now. Keep up the good work, you will be respected.
2567  Other / Meta / Re: Can't accept merit (theymos) on: May 17, 2018, 12:30:41 PM
How about a better proposal: Shitposters like you can never accept any merit either? Roll Eyes

Quote
You have 337 sendable merit (sMerit) which you can send to other people.

@OP you really need to stop flavouring BitcoinTurk

- Can you see him above?  Grin

I'll just leave this here.
- I will say the same like Lauda said  Smiley
FYI you do not need to explain much, we understand it.

If you are only for earning here then you are in the wrong place I am afraid. You need to change your view before giving it a start.
2569  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Remove Limits - Copper Account on: May 17, 2018, 11:35:08 AM
I am aware that the account is new and I would rather not buy a "used" account and build up my own account. Is there anyway to upgrade my account to copper so I am able to PM a little more and post without waiting 10 minutes.

Thanks

I don't encourage you to buy an account because account buying/selling are discouraged.
18. Having multiple accounts and account sales are allowed, but account sales are discouraged.
Some of these rules will help you to understand about BitcoinTalk and how it works.

Seems like you heard about copper membership but may be don't know where to start yet.
This will help...
2570  Other / Meta / Re: Two posts in Beginners & Help section needed attention on: May 17, 2018, 07:16:02 AM
That's NOOBies for you  Grin
This has been already discussed in this section...
My bad, I can not just recall it properly however I am having a feeling that I read a topic about mega thread few days or weeks. May be I did not pay much attention there.

...that threads like this should be automatically locked after it got a certain amount of reply but the case is that it would not be possible because it will affect other important threads that although it is considered mega threads, it still contributes to the forum.
If we were a new community and struggled for topics to engage then It was logical. AFAIK we are an established forum with over 23M monthly traffic, we do not need to think about keeping a useless thread so that people can comment because we do not have enough topics.

Sometimes threads like those are created/re-created by spammers so they could post their recycled posts using their alt accounts... Sooner or later you'll expect a thread here in Meta from them asking "why my posts are gone?" "why my post count is dropping?" and "why my thread was deleted?" again, it will compensate the posts they've lost...
I guess this is exactly why the mods are here (one of the many reasons). Mods are here to look after the health of the forum. Locking, deleting, moving, banning, helping with answers?

This is why I have beginners & help blocked, along with Bitcoin Discussion (unfortunately), Altcoin Discussion, and Economics.  Those sections have hundreds of threads that need deleting IMO.  And yes, members will keep creating idiotic threads once the old ones are locked, but I still think it needs to be done.  It's not affecting me since I don't visit those sections, but I know it irritates a lot of good members here.
It does irritates a lot. Who like seeing same thing rephrased again and again?  Angry

I also do not visit the Bitcoin Discussion, Altcoin Discussion that much. I can not recall vising Economics too coz I really don't have much idea about Economics. Sometimes I see some stupid topics in the Serious discussion section too. It's just ridiculous. But yes, I understand that we have to live with all these.

To me, Beginners & help section is a bit different after noticing some good posts recently. So, I activated my notification for this section. IMO it's not as bad as the others. There are few genuine newbies looking for answers in this section.

Update: Business has been taken care of. Thanks to the mods.

Bitcoin for beginners?
I am new in bitcoin , I have heard so many experience people on bitcointalk , is there any suggestions for bitcoin beginner

9 pages of discussion, literally nothing to be added there.

Last few comment...

The best thing is to motivate yourself in doing what you know will benefit you if you put in all the effort and time. So read and gain some experience don't rush.
168th
You need to educate yourself about crypto, you need to set your mind and emotions in whatever happens to your investment or money.Patience and willingness to do things to end up good earnings.
169th
Even though I'm also a beginner, but I learnt faster by going through the threads here, reading news constantly on cointelegraph and other major websites

Bounties for Newbies
What are bounties for newbies here??

11 pages so far. Again literally nothing new to be added.

Last few comments...
203rd
There are some bounty campaigns that accepts newbie but it is hard to find because it is only counted by the fingers.Mostly the are looking for at least Jr.member and above.
204th
Before joining any bounty it will be helpful to qualify you first by writing good posts. I don't think there are good bounties for newbies, because if you find one, they are very overcrowded.
205th

My point is, isn't it time to lock those topics? These people are just spamming on these topics. I am pretty sure in this section, there are more useless posts like these however these twos are currently trolling in the first page.
2573  Other / Meta / Re: Discussion in need: "Report to moderator" on: May 16, 2018, 11:53:54 PM
If the post is moved, then not all reports are credited with a good report, and quite often if someone hasn't specified something along the lines of "Wrong section, doesn't belong in <section>" then a moderator may think you are reporting it for being in the current section it's been moved too and thus mark it as a bad report.
So in other words, reporting without a valid comment (on the report section) will always ends up as a bad report?

AFAIK hilariousandco has stated a few times he has very little contact with theymos,...

I can confirm that, I have seen it few days ago in a post he/she mentioned.
2574  Other / Meta / Re: How Secure is BitcoinTalk? on: May 16, 2018, 11:29:26 PM
If I put an image in a post in this thread, then I can get a list of the IPs of the people who have viewed the thread. Cross refer a few threads, and I can probably isolate your individual IP.

Try it and see how many IPs you get...
What I understand from this is, It's not gonna work. So seems like we are safe.

Update:
Ok seems like I have missed this from shahzadafzal.
Actually Theymos is pointing out that it's not possible anymore. bitcointalk is using image proxy which prevents any request being forwarded to the source directly from client's browser.

If you haven't notice all [img] tages are replaced like, so you will not get IP Address of the user but all requests will be coming from bitcointalk's image proxy server.

Code:
https://ip.bitcointalk.org/?u={url}

I seriously think, bitcointalk should enable Image caching on proxy server, currently it looks like caching is not enabled or used that's why we don't see any image for few [5+] seconds.
2575  Other / Meta / Re: An easy question - post count in BTC on: May 16, 2018, 07:38:28 PM
You've previously posted in the Serious Discussion section, and any posts in that section, and it's child boards don't contribute towards post count. Other than that the thread is almost certainly being trashed. Your post count isn't being miscalculated.
Bitcoin Forum > Other > Serious discussion
Bitcoin Forum > Other > Serious discussion > Ivory Tower

These are the two boards, Welsh was explaining earlier.

1, 2, 3, 4 etc are some examples.  Smiley
2576  Other / Off-topic / Re: How to hide added custom contracts on metamask wallet. on: May 16, 2018, 07:33:35 PM

May be you want to move it to the Beginners & Help section

2577  Other / Meta / Re: [New format] Merit Abuser Gang [Now 18 Cases and 14th yet to be completed] on: May 16, 2018, 06:31:41 PM
Nice job to catch all these merit abusers. I'd like to see guilty ones tagged and "their lives ruined" (local meme  Grin) So many cases of merits traders tags and yet they still shamelessly send 20-50 merits to alt accounts or buyer. God knows how many of those abusers are waiting for a right time to exchange merits when nobody looking.

Appreciate the feedback. I will be adding more soon.
2578  Other / Archival / Re: Hire me to defend your case for 0.01BTC! on: May 16, 2018, 04:53:52 PM

Send 0.01 to this address first. 18Gykh4jE6fuyARzbC3XEzrALuKWFNHra4 if you have got a red tag from a DT1-2 member.

I guess it's time for you to defend your own case. Send yourself 0.01BTC and defend it. If you win you will have a portfolio to showcase your work.

PS: Are you seriously living in senseless world? Your humour is really in minus direction LOL

update:

I don't know what I could've done without you guys. thank you.

Here is a rare case, ambulance chasing worked. I should now pay myself I think? lol.
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=3853171.0
Yes, you do and also post the tx here as a proof of the payment  Roll Eyes

If you don't then I will tag you for not paying for the service.
If you lose the case then I will again tag you for failing to remove the tag.
Since you are senseless I assume you miss the humour again
2579  Other / Meta / Re: User's sMerit Network size – Data to select possible Merit Sources on: May 16, 2018, 04:24:56 PM
Another mathematical analysis... I actually love seeing these stuffs from you and sncc. There is another one I guess. Good work guys.
2580  Other / Meta / Re: sig campaign- what about "1merited post per week" instead of"25 post per week" on: May 16, 2018, 04:15:15 PM
Haha, no. You could probably offer some people a pack of freddos (25p!) and they would join all jelly legged. As long as there's money to be earned for both parties signature campaigns shall remain. Even, with heavier restrictions I still think they would exist, and not be such a burden to the general forum user.

I am running a campaign for self promotion (It's actually a bit different than the regular campaigns)

Even-though...
# I have escrowed my fund
# Transparent with the data I am receiving
# Responding the community whenever they are asking for anything
# Offering min 0.002BTC and maximum 0.0036 BTC for one time task.

I am not receiving much response from the community.

The reason I can identify is... It's not a guaranteed payment. One will win the bounty price. So, the hunters are not much motivated.

If the scenario was like this...

# Create a eye catching website
# Create a useless ERC20 token

and then create a twitter bounty to award these useless ERC20 token to people who will spam it on twitter then we would see these people will join the party.

People actually follow the crowd knowing nothing about the reason.
