A normal race ? No, no , no. I do not hope for a normal and a boring race as we have so many this year that at this point if the race is boring , I simply turn off my TV and do something else. Fans tried to bring alerts to FIA and F1 in order to make it more than a 2 car show because we did not have a battle in 3 or 4 cars for 1st place for so many years now.

On my radar , the rain is near Hungaroring right now and in 2 hours it will rain in almost all Hungary so lets hope the rain will come and bring us a great show.

Well it's definitely not a boring race but what an unlucky one for verstappen again. He was kicked out of the race in turn 1 by bottas and now it looks like the bottom section of his chassis is damaged and i am pretty sure, that he will not win a single point in this race. Bottas will probably get a penalty for that but that doesn't really matter because hamilton was untouched in this incident and will probably score another 25 points in this race while Verstappen will probably not win any points or only a few. It loos like everything is going against Verstappen now which makes me very sad because i really hoped for an open championship this year until the next race.  Lips sealed

ZVEREV from Germany won the Gold medal and beat the Russian KHACHAOV by 2-0 in today's Gold medal Match. That's he first ever win from Germany in the tennis in the Olympics. This is an historic win for Zverev and Germans.  Smiley

He really did it and i am very happy that he managed to pull it off! I guess no one expected him to win the gold medal before the tournament started because djokovic was probably the absolute favorite for 95% of the experts and bettors especially after Nadal and Federer did not participate in the olympic tournament. I also was not to sure if he could win this gold medal match today because i had the feeling that he was completely overwhelmed after his upsetting win against Djokovic. So i feared that he maybe won't perform that well in todays match because he was the favorite now and that's a completely different situation. He did deliver though and won in a convincing way!
Also congrats to Khachanov, a silver medal is also a huge success.

the pandemic is still going on..

Let's talk a little bit about our steps in this difficult time..
like many airdrops that take place, do we still have hope and also believe in the existence of airdrops that are now starting to be offered on platforms or social media..
and what kind of airdrop has made you successful during this pandemic?

I stopped to take part in any airdrops since a few months now to be honest as 99% of them are completely worthless in the end and in addition to that you never know what those people do with your data, especially when there is even a KYC needed for an airdrop. So i would never take part in an airdrop like that. I would only take part in an airdrop if it is from a project that i already knew before the airdrop happened. For example the dfinity one (or now Internet Computer ICP) was one of those. I even did a KYC for that but that was a project that was very hyped and that's why i did that and in the end it was worth it. I missed out on the Uniswap airdrop because i haven't used the platform before so i really had no successful airdrop during the pandemic at all.
2584  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Olympics 2020/2021 : Discussion & Predictions on: July 31, 2021, 01:08:24 PM
Did anyone watched tennis today? Djokovic lost semifinal to Zverev.
It was an upset but Zverev has a game that can beat anyone. I lost on this one too.

Quote
And immediately after enf of singles game he went to play doubles semifinal. He lost it too. I think that such schedule is a bit unfair for athlete.
The Olympic rule allows him to play in both events but it is still Djokovic's decision to participate or let someone else do the doubles. The committee will not bend their schedule just because of a "tired" player.

And today Djokovic also lost the game for the bronze medal against pablo carreno busta, even though he managed to win the second set after he already had matchballs against him there. After that loss he also cancelled the match for the bronze medal in the mixed competition because of a shoulder injury. If he is really injured.. i doubt that. So that is pretty sad for his female partner nina stojanovic as she has now no chance to win an olympic medal and no one knows if she will ever have a chance to win a medal again in her life.
Also pretty disappointing for djokovic also of course. I think everyone expected him to win this olympic tournament and then also the US open to become the first male tennis player ever to win the golden slam. We will see if he can stay motivated for the rest of the season now.
2585  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Will long-term investments in the crypto space provide any guarantee? on: July 31, 2021, 12:44:38 PM
Aside from Bitcoin (BTC), will long-term investments in the crypto space provide any guarantee?
Of course my question is based on some experiences that occur in the market.
My observations of crypto market conditions, such as there are groups or people who do things that cause the price of other coins to only last for a moment.

Please have a discussion that makes all participants gain new knowledge.

To answer your question directly and shortly i would say No, you never have a guarantee that you make profit for sure if you invest into a crypto currency and hold it for a few years or so. For most projects that people bought a few years ago and held until today it is probably true that they are still very deep in the profit zone right now, but of course there can never be a guarantee that this is still true for the future. I think though that it is still very likely to still be true, as i am pretty confident, that if you buy some  BTC, ETH or some other well established crypto project right now and hold for at least a few years that you can make a profit with that if no big unexpected happenings occur.
2586  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Will physical casinos accept crypto someday? on: July 31, 2021, 10:02:25 AM
There are plethora of online casinos (gambling sites) which accept popular cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin and Ethereum. This is good because you can place your bets anonymously without all of the hurdles involved with Fiat. No KYC, means freedom. The only downside is that you'll be missing the experience of gambling in a real world setting. Physical interaction is not the same as going virtual.

I've been wondering what's been holding back real world casinos from adopting crypto? It is because they fear a government crackdown? Or because of crypto's volatility? With how popular crypto/Blockchain tech is right now, there should be at least one physical casino you can go to and place your bets with crypto. Thoughts? Huh

I see no reason why they shouldn't accept cryptocurrencies. In my opinion, it would also be a minimal effort for the casinos to accept cryptos as a means of payment. They would only have to set up different wallets and that would be it. So you would enter the casino, go to the counter, send the amount of tokens or coins that you want to the wallet address that is given to you and done. If casinos are afraid of volatility issues they could at least accept stable coins like USDT or USDC. One problem could be though that you have to wait for a few minutes for your transaction to go through when the ETH network is congested, so this could be annoying.
I also think it is safer for casinos to accept cryptos as payment because this way they have less cash lying around.
2587  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The future of crypto on: July 31, 2021, 09:53:20 AM
China is always two steps ahead of all other countries in terms of future tech and I think the reason why they ban crypto miners is because of their CBDC but what will happen if other countries later follow the same steps? Will this put crypto in trouble?

That is probably a little off topic here but i strongly disagree with your statement that china is always two steps ahead of all other countries in terms of technology. In terms of environmental protection, until 15 years ago they were at about the same level as the majority of Western countries were in the 1960s and 70s. At that time, China was still discharging highly polluted wastewater directly into rivers and doing similar things. The air in Beijing is still so dirty that there are disproportionately more miscarriages and other health problems there than anywhere else. So in this area they are 10 steps behind rather than 2 steps ahead.
I doubt that western country will forbid crypto mining just because china did it. China does not serve as a role model for Western countries, maybe it does for a few other asian countries.
2588  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tennis League All Thread on: July 30, 2021, 10:59:25 AM
well, i expected Zverev to win a set but not the whole match and with 6-3 6-1 after losing the first one 6-1, i thought it was done but somehow he truned the tables on Djokovic, that was unexpected, Nole still has a chance to win gold in mixed doubles with Stojanovic and a Bronze in singles against Carreno Busta, which is not bad at all.

It was a huge surprise for me that zverev really managed to win against djokovic today, i mean almost everything was directing into a clear win for Djokovic. He played almost perfect tennis for the biggest part of this season, he managed to beat nadal in paris and he seemed to be in the best shape of his life even in this olympic tournament so far where he had zero problems at all in his matches so far. The first seemed to be a pretty clear thing for Djokovic because it ended 6-3 for him but that was already a very close set where Djokovic only managed to make a few more points than zverev, but at the right time. Then in the second set the momentum shift happened after zverev managed to make 8 points in a row. Maybe Djokovic was tired after he played two matches yesterday.
2589  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Convince me that bounties paying in anything other than Bitcoin are worth it on: July 30, 2021, 10:55:18 AM
I want to know how much you guys are earning with these bounties that offer "stakes" for doing certain tasks because I am not convinced that they are legitimate. Here is why I think that. Lets say you did a signature campaign paying in their coin that is currently worth nothing but you put in hours of work to get this token with the anticipation that it might be worth something at some point. However as soon as it is worth something all the other participants in that signature campaign will be thinking the same thing. Withdraw. That then causes a dump effect on the token and you are back to it being worthless again.

I am 100% sure that most bounties today have the same teams behind them and they continue to do the same process each time in an attempt of being successful once out of the million times they have tried before. In modern times we have become accustomed to minimum wages or at least fair wages but you guys are doing work for nothing at the time of completing your work on the promise that they will be worth something down the line. Would you work for a company in the fiat world if they promised you to give you shares in their company without any guarantee that they would be successful?

I just do not understand why people would want to work for free without any guarantees at all. If you are really unlucky you could spend 1000s of hours doing work for these bounties and profit nothing. I am interested in hearing about your experience with these bounties and how much you profit when it comes to withdrawing the tokens.

It is definitely true that altcoin bounties are a huge risk because in at least 9 out of 10 cases you basically "work" for free because the project does a rugpull or it just never lifts of and in both scenarios that means your tokens are absolutely worthless if you even get them. It is still possible to find good altcoin bounties though you just need to look closely, do your research and don't just the next altcoin bounty that offers 500k$ worth of tokens for the bounty because that is already a bad sign. If a new projects is paying out that much to bounty participants then it is impossible that the price stays stable once all the bounty hunters sell their tokens. I would only join altcoin bounties of projects that i already knew before the bounty announcement and from where i know that people are interested in this project. Most of those project are not doing any bounties though because they don't need it anymore but some do, for example Radix last year.
2590  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling Exposed to children on: July 30, 2021, 07:20:13 AM
These days I'm seeing many Youtubers and Twitch streamers are promoting Gambling websites [Dice, Sports Betting] and Poker Apps.

I know it's ok to gamble for having fun and socially but I don't think young people should be exposed to this when they're in school.
Most of them will only imagine "What 'IF' i win 1000x of this amount and i'll be able to do this and that"

The first thing where will they get the money, even if they get pocket money and use that to gamble then they'll slowly develop the habit of gambling disregarding short-term winnings - if they occur.

They'll pay a huge price with the tension they'll have thinking about this when their whole life is ahead.

I noticed this too, that big twitch streamers are now playing online casinos more and more during their streams and then afterwards upload videos of their biggest winnings on youtube. It is obvious that those streamers get paid by the online casinos to play on their platform to promote it that way, which i have to say is totally fine by the way because that is just how marketing works. It is also true though that a lot of children are watching this streams and that children are much more prone to be hooked by that promotions because they are just much more naive than adults, but in the end it is the responsibility of their parents to make sure they are not starting to gamble when they are 12 years old.
I mean every online casino is already telling you that you are only allowed to use their platform when you are 18 or older (or older than 21 depending on where you are from). I don't think you can ask more from the casinos.
2591  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: what are risks in adding liquidity on a defi platform? on: July 30, 2021, 07:14:05 AM

I'm about to try Defi platform now but i have no idea about it. All I really just see is that its going to give me more than 10% of APY. This is good enough for me but I just want to be aware of the risk if anything could happen. Any given situation, is this not going to be good?

Like others already mentioned, here in crypto you can never be 100% sure if the platform where you want to provide liquidity is really legit or is doing a rugpull and you will lose your funds. It is also possible that the platform somehow gets hacked, like for example if an attacker gehts hold of the private keys of the company or stuff like that. If you choose a big and trusted platform though i think those risks should be extremely small like <1%.

Depending on for what trading pair you want to add liquidity there is also the risk of "impermanent loss", which happens when the prices of the two coins that you provided liquidity move in different directions.

Red Bull are appealing the Hamilton penalty, with the hearing due tomorrow: https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/formula1/57988419

It's difficult to see how they can provide new evidence - perhaps they will be aiming to prove that Hamilton wouldn't have made the corner. Equally Mercedes will be pressing their case about Hamilton's move complying with the stewards' overtaking guidelines.

Hard to see any outcome for either team that causes a change in what has already been decided, as everything hinges on there being new evidence that wasn't available at the time. But it's understandable that Red Bull are making the attempt, given the financial implications of rebuilding the car, and then a potential grid penalty for Max at some later point as a result of taking replacement parts.

Helmut Marko himself said that they have new evidence that shows that it was clearly hamiltons fault and that is why they are trying to reopen that case. As far as i know the sports law only allow to reopen a case if strong new evidence comes up so we will probably know pretty soon if this new evidence really exists and if it is that clear. I also completely understand Red bull that they are trying everything to in that case because last race was a huge loss for them both financially and in the championship. Verstappen would have probably won that race or finished at the second place at the very least and now he has 0 points and hamilton won which is the absolute worst case for them.
2593  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Looking for ICO 2021 on: July 29, 2021, 09:41:14 AM
The year 2021 has witness so many changes and introduction of new development in the cryptocurrency market such as NFT projects, that made me wanting to know if ICO projects are still available, I mean good ICO project that can give 2X profits just like what we hard back in the ICO era of 2017.

I will appreciate if I can see a list of excellent projects running they ICO at the moment you comments are highly welcome.

Since 2017 the market especially in regards to ICO's have changed drastically. Nowadays ICO's that collect an unlimited amount of money like Filecoin for example did back in the day with 200M$+ collected do happen anymore. Today most projects sell most of their coins in private Sales which can usually only be joined if you are a VC or an influencer which can contribute a lot of money. Another way to join such pre-Sales is via private pre-sale groups like Duckdao where you need to hold a certain amount of their tokens to be eligible to join a private telegram group and then you can also join private sales like the VC's can.
Public Sales today are also done via launchpads pretty often nowadays and most of the time the allocation for public sales is very low like 1% of the supply so you need to be really lucky to get a public sale spot for a good project.
2594  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Combination of gambling and trading on: July 29, 2021, 07:35:26 AM
lately i have been stressed off and depressed because of lack of sleep, i just got my hand on so many thing and among those is trading and gambling this two activities requires lots of research and hard work which is time consuming, and am beginning to feel that am over doing it.
is any one in this category that can help me with advise on how to go about combining trading and gambling at the same time.

If you feel stressed because of those 2 things than you should either take both of those things more slowly or pause doing one of those 2 things or even both things completely for a while. If you rely on the income from trading for you daily living, which would be a bad thing because you never know if you make a profit or a loss, than of course you should slow down or stop with gambling first. If you are doing both things just for fun or for a little money on top than you can just pause the active trading for a while too. I also would like to add, that the only reason why you should gamble is because you have fun to do so. If you feel stressed because of gambling, than, like i already said it is time to pause until you have fun doing it again.
2595  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Help me understand on: July 29, 2021, 07:27:59 AM
Will the BTC price take longer to reach all time highs with time? 5 years ago 10k bought 3 BTC, now it buys .25. Does that mean that as price goes up, it will require more fiat to keep it pumping? When price is 200k, it will take a lot of money to influence price it seems. Even with mass adoption, it would require people to put it a ton of money to raise the price.

It helps to look at the market cap of Bitcoin in addition to just the current price. The total market cap of BTC is at 751 Billion $ at the moment. So it's a pretty simple calculation that the market cap needs to be at 7.51 Trillion $ for 1 BTC to cost 400k $. That calculation is not completely correct though because the supply, which means the total number of Bitcoins that is available on the market also keeps increasing because a new block is being mined every 9 to 10 minutes. So yes you are correct that the higher the price already is for 1 BTC the more new money is necessary to flow into the market and into BTC to make it do another x2 or x10 or whatever.
2596  Local / Altcoins (Deutsch) / Re: Radix Sale Update & Liquidity Mining Rewards on: July 28, 2021, 06:26:42 PM

2597  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Olympics 2020/2021 : Discussion & Predictions on: July 28, 2021, 11:44:10 AM

The Japanese are fortunate to have such a ratio between gold medals and the total number of medals won. In this spreadsheet, Germany's 10th place surprises me, they have few gold medals and few won awards in general. It's too early to talk about the final results, but the intermediate data is very weak, I wonder if Germany can seriously improve its position?

Germany just made it into the top 10 yesterday because of 2 gold medals won, before that we were even much further behind 2 gold medals mean a lot in the lower region of the table. There are only a few sports where Germany is very dominant and a medal, or even a gold medal, is pretty much assured. Off the top of my head, I can only think of dressage, where the team won the gold medal again yesterday and where they are also the favourites for the gold medal in the individual classification today. I think Germany needs to host the Olympics again so that the focus is more on mass sports again and it also gets more support from politics and companies.
2598  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: IT IS NOT BITCOIN vs ALT-COINS BUT CRYPTO vs CENTRAL AUTHORITY on: July 28, 2021, 11:31:33 AM

Bitcoin's PoW is necessary because when it comes to permissionless, sound money without any central authority, there is no alternative to Bitcoin.

PoS tokens are alright for launching a product where institutional investors are present inside the crypto market because you have something defining a crypto market. That defining feature is the money of crypto, which is Bitcoin. If we don't have Bitcoin, we won't have crypto anymore.

Imagine if PoS or any of those non-PoW chains that need a bunch of validators/ masternodes were the answer, what stops the banks just form their own consortiums, running the best nodes and controlling all the stake. Ultimately, you give away your financial sovereignty and identity to the biggest players. Bitcoin prevents that.

It is true that the PoS mechanism can be dangerous in terms of centralisation if a single entity be it a big financial institute or just a huge private whale that owns a lot of coins and can then take control over the the network by deciding which blocks and transaction get validated and which ones not. I also think though that PoW mechanism are just as prone to centralisation than PoS coins are in my opinion. I mean we already have big mining operations in china and other countries and during past Bitcoin forks it was always a big decision if those mining companies where supporting that fork or not. So they already have a lot of power too. Then there is the big topic of the energy waste that is associated with bitcoin mining. So it would be good if those big mining companies switch to green energy soon, or PoS coins will become more and more important.
2599  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Motivated by "breaking the code" on: July 28, 2021, 09:46:21 AM
One of my neighbours, a million years ago, was obviously addict to the slot machines. He would spend hours spinning in a nearby bar (these machines are allowed in bars in my country of origin) and my take is that he would spend a fortune on it. Once, I passed by and I overheard him saying "I am going to teach this machine who is in charge". It sounded like he was attributing some short of conscience and life to the machine and though he could "beat it". I have observed that many people that gamble are into that type of thinking, that is, it is me against this code and this machine and I can actually break the code and win.

I personally do not play slots, but do you think that is why people like slot machines? Short of breaking their code?

There is no way you can break the code or outplay the slot machine or do anything else that let's you find out how exactly the mechanics of the machine works which makes you win more often or stuff like that. Slot machines are 100% luck based and there is no way to improve your winnings with certain tactics or timings or whatever. I am pretty sure that the statements of your neighbour are just a clear sign of a massive gambling addiction, as you said yourself that he spent hours on the spinning machine and already lost a fortune on it. So i don't think people start playing slot machines out of curiosity how the code works and how to break the code but they say stuff like that once they became addicted to playing the slot machine.
2600  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: why do you keep allcoins? on: July 28, 2021, 09:40:58 AM
many of us are aware that sometimes the coins that have recently gone up are quite drastic, even though we have made quite significant profits, but still hope that in the future it will rise more than the coins btt, doge and others rose from the golden age they have peaked now.

if that happens how long do you have to wait 2 years, 3 years, 5 years or...?

while new coins are popping up all the time, still waiting for him to peak again?

I am also one of those guys that is hodling his coins for a long time and of course i already missed a lot of opportunities already to sell the coins at their ATH and then buy them back afterwards way cheaper. Their are multiple reasons for that. Firstly i see investments into crypto pretty much as gambling and i only invest small amounts of FIAT that i can afford to lose completely without having any impact on my life. Secondly i have to hold the coins for at least 1 year here in my country or i have to pay taxes on the profits i made and i don't want to do that no matter what. The last reason is the most important one and it affects everyone, during the ATH at the coins you just don't know that they will drop 90% withing the next few weeks.. if would have known that before of course i would have sold them even though i had to pay taxes.
So now i wait for the next altcoin run because until i hold most of my coins long enough to avoid paying taxes.
