I have been trying to find a way to buy BTC but ive been on 3 sites where they want $160+
The price is irrelevant. For example if you wanted to purchase say $20 worth of goods online with Bitcoins, you would only send $20 worth of Bitcoins. You don't have to buy a whole Bitcoin you know.

Hurricanes, tsunamis, disease, don't have to exist, we cause them to exist by negativity. It's quantum physics, we are the conscious controllers of our universe.
Two friends and I have held back a piece of a cloud from moving with the power of our mind.
Maybe if you've got a spare moment, do you think you could sort out Fukushima with your two friends. It's pretty urgent.

BufferOverflow, that is exactly my point! The minute a business to business model fails to offer the BUYER a PROFIT, that business is finished! Anyone in the business world knows that! I am not going to purchase appliances to sell in my appliance store if all the manufacturers of Dishwashers and Refrigerators don't want to sell it to me at the wholesale price! Manufacturer ---> Distributor ----> Seller Along the way, the price roughly doubles, as it goes from manufacturer to distributor, to the store (seller). This ensures everyone involved in the process makes a profit. ASIC manufacturers are out of their minds!!! Everyone in the supply chain is making profit. The end person isn't though, because they are the consumer. Why are ASIC manufacturers out of their minds?

Have you ever seen a UFO? UFOs are spirits.
UFO stands for: Unidentified Flying Object. This could mean a wide variety of things.

If I am unable to fulfill my dreams by 2022, I will get a 'real' job and work to pay off my debts until I die (because I'd still have eternity afterwards).
Why not start right now? 2022 will arrive and you'll apply for an extension. The excuses will flow. I would descend from the sky, like a UFO and bring peace.
*facepalm*

Stealing things doesn't put you at peace, which is why I want to pay back squall.
So run us through you repayment schedule you've obviously arranged with him. Of course, if you haven't arranged one, we can have 100% assurance you have no intention of paying him back.

Bitcoin mining, in it's current form is DEAD! BTC
Yes, the global bitcoin hash rate is now zero. *facepalm* If you read the countless threads on here, many people, not just myself, see a ridiculous trend of disappearing ROI. The question now becomes, not WHEN will you hit ROI, but IF you will hit ROI on new ASIC equipment. That's because ASICs aren't designed for the end user to profit. The one and only reason they exist, is to profit the manufacture. Nothing else.

Have you paid back those coins you stole yet?
Maybe he plans to trade it first then return the capital when he gets good profit. No, he blew it all on drugs.

Obvious scam. Nothing to see here.

The thing is, there is no .bitcoin directory in my username directory. Puzzling.
Directories and files beginning with a period are hidden. To view hidden files and directories in a terminal, use: ls -a

Historically, all premined coins have failed.
false. GLD is alive and well despite being raped by the initial developer. Feathercoin and Litecoin are doing ok last time i checked as well. Feathercoin & Litecoin weren't premined though.

Thanks for the reply, it makes sense. I have downloaded the entire blockchain but I am not sure where on my computer it is stored. I am using Linux Mint.
It is located in /home/{username}/.bitcoin directory.

I'm sure he's pushing MS to get their own altcoin out there. Given their penchant for ambiguous names that co-opt standard definitions, they'll probably name it something like MSbitcoin, bitcoin.dollars, or MSBucks.
MS altcoin. Oh dear. Bet it would be proprietary closed source.

Hey wait, I've got an idea. Let's compress those 0.02 bits again! Genius! Eventually we might be able to compress it to zero. We can store the entire internet in 4KB! (that is including my porn collection... and let me assure you that's HUGE!) I don't think your poo fetish porn will compress all that well.
