http://www.ibtimes.co.uk/hmrc-re-classify-bitcoin-private-money-1432718

HMRC in Great Britain IS re-classifying Bitcoin as private money, setting up the City of London as a future leading hub of the Bitcoin world!!

Excellent news. Though don't expect banks to play nicely with Bitcoin businesses.
1984  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: No payout ever received with p2pool? on: January 17, 2014, 02:35:25 PM
p2pool is broken shit.  Go mine on a proper pool.  Simple as that.

No it's not broken in the slightest. P2pool is an extremely clever system.
P2pool is a distributed pool and works a little different in contrast to centralised pools.

Decentalised; the way mining was supposed to be.
1985  Economy / Speculation / Re: What do you think the Bitcoin price will do when the Feds sell the Silk Road BTC on: January 17, 2014, 02:19:36 PM
I believe the price with rise after the sale as the uncertainty has then been removed.
1986  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC Beginning of the End ! on: January 17, 2014, 01:40:56 PM

Speculation

Bitcoin wasn't premined. That myth was debunked years ago.

Furthermore; we can still try to develop the technology to counter the effect of global warming, even when it is not mankind related.

You can't fight nature. It will also win given enough time.
1991  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Could bitcoin network cope with massive adoption? on: January 15, 2014, 11:49:24 AM
The network is temporary currently throttled to ~7tps at the moment.
1992  Economy / Speculation / Re: Guesses on when we'll break $10 on: January 15, 2014, 09:04:43 AM
the inevitable collapse of hubris

The hubris of those who trust fiat or the hubris of those who trust Bitcoin?

First the latter then the former, in that order.

No. First was when the Ripple hubris collapsed.

Successful at what? What do you class as a success?
1997  Economy / Speculation / Re: Latest Developments Thread on: January 13, 2014, 11:56:12 AM

It's not. Bitcoin doesn't do nuclear weapons testing.
1998  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What is Litecoin on: January 13, 2014, 07:55:17 AM
Litecoin is an altcoin with a few minor changes to Bitcoin.
You will need to wait for for the whole blockchain to download with both coins. This can take a few hours.
The difficulty to mine on both coins is now hard as the difficulty has risen.

1999  Economy / Economics / Re: 2014 Poll: How many bitcoins do you own? on: January 11, 2014, 04:53:36 PM
