I dont see any reasons why it should not work for Mining, it provides 840w of total power @ 12v, splitted to two rails of 420w each. You should be able to use it for two Vega 56`s without any problem.
Only worrying thing is its efficiency, but thats only my personal preference to have them as efficient as possible.
Ow man, didn't realize it's 2 rail. I read somewhere that 2 rail are bad or could be dangerous if one rail fails (something like that).

I will be using it for one Vega 56 but in future I will complete the rig with 6-8 high end cards(different models) so I will add two more 1000w PSUs. So is 2850w good for 6-8 big card rigs or should I go with 1000w on all three PSU. And is this model Antec HCG-850 good for mining ? Why is the community so sensitive towards the comment "The real crash begins today! " Is this coin so weak that it will be destroyed by this comment ? Every coin have to face dumps but that doesn't kills the coin. Ultimately if it is a real project it will survive and thrive or else it is bound to fail.

Bitmain has a lot money. It could be that there was deal between them behind the scenes. I do believe that Bitmain secretly funds lots of cryptocurrency projects. Once the community builds they bring the ASICs to the market. Monero earned my respect with their forking decision.
Bitmain holds the bone with their ASICs while we are treated like dogs. Only support coins that support us.

no interest in selling your miner or dev services?
also is that normal to have the intro pricing then jack it up, whitefire also says its $4k now but 5k + next month
It's the first time I've ever seen a company do that with FPGAs, that's for sure. Only avnet is doing it, digikey wants $5200/board for low QTY. My pricing just depends on chip order quantity, the more ordered, the lower the price is going to get. I don't trust % fees for dev services because they're so easy to avoid paying. Well, it's going be inevitable if whitefire does release his with dev fee. Why not tap into the market and collect residual for yourself regardless? If you have something that is already done, and then whitefire releases his, people are going use whitefire no matter what, since his is the one that is offered to the public. But if you offered it ahead of the game and/or is better, then at least you get to collect some residual regardless if people want to bypass the dev fee or not. Not sure how much work that would be needed to do this, but the way I see it, for example; Lets say 100 people use your service, 50 people bypass the dev fee if that's your concern. I would rather have 50% of some free residual, then 0% of nothing. That's just one perspective. +1

Won't be launched within next 3 months atleast. Amd won't release anything this year.

Like the other guy said, in that scale only ASIC are profitable. Currently we have a lot of new asics with latest technology but all of current gen gpus are outdated. With GPU, there are LOTS of points of failure. It's almost full time job if you have many rigs. This is my personal experience from owning multiple gpu rigs and asics at my home. Don't think about selling gpus, if you have doubts and thinking of exit plans then it's not worth spending big money. Only enter it you believe in long term success. 2018 is year of ASICs.
But my best suggestion : If you invest only 1/4 of that money now in good cryptocurrencies then you will get way more then you will ever get with a mining farm, it's way less headache too.

How difficult it is to program the FPGA boards?
They will teach us FPGA in college next year. It's very hard.

Just wanted to know if it is possible. I will order bigger PSU in a few days. CoolerMaster psu calculater says I need 430w psu with my setup.

Can you post a link to it? I can not find it.
Due to recent XMR fork, new ASIC won't be discussed in public, especially VERTCOIN ASIC-resistant algo, I'm just a silent observer in the group,It was a sudden message,I believe this is not a fake news made by idle people. I know only few information, the specifications may not be made public. But now it is being discussed in public, right ? That is what this post is about.

Can I mine on pc with intel e2180 dual core 2.0 and 4 gb ram on intel dg31pr and CoolerMaster MWE 450 (450w) 80+ ? I have a single msi vega 56 air boost which I not attached yet as it says on packaging minimum 8gb ram and 650w psu is required. I will not use it for gaming. My PSU has 2 6+2 pin on same cord and yes my MoBo has PCI-E x16 and x1. I will plug it in x16

Hello, I recently got two new Antec Earthwatts Gold Pro 750w from antec service centre in exchange for two dead True Power Classic 750w (for free !). Now TP classic was non modular and so it had loads of cable to power my 12*1050ti rig safely.
Now this semi-modular PSUs have very few cables for my need. It only have 4 PCI-E each so only 8 of my cards will be powered. It has 2 molex cable on each PSU, so I was thinking of using a molex to Pcie adapter (one molex for one pcie NOT 2 molex for one pcie) to power my 4 gpus. I mean 1050ti are very low power right ?
Earlier I was powering my risers with molex but now I will have to use sata. I was powering two of my riser with sata earlier too. So one my connection will be one molex power my gpu with molex to 6pin pcie adapter and then power two riser with sata. So there are 3 connection on single cable. Is this extremely dangerous or it's alright- not too bad but not too good. I don't want to buy another PSU. Again I think 1050ti are low power.
Thank You

Mining speculative coins doesn't make any sense. Just mine the most profitable and stable coin like ethereum and exchange it for that speculative coin. You will get more rvn if you mine other profitable coin and then exchange it for rvn.

So I will be making my first gaming rig now. Please suggest my the best components mainly I am confused with processor & MoBo. I want to make a good rig (very realistic and practical rig instead of buying top of the line in everything). I am getting a galax 1080 for $553 which is good price for my country. I want to know will 1080 become obsolete once new cards come out. I want my rig to remain future proof till end of 2019. Will people say "meh" if I tell them I have 1080 in 2019 ? Processor and MoBo are main concern. According to this article ( www.gamingscan.com/best-cpu-for-gaming/) i3-8100 or Ryzen 1600x are the best but it doesn't say anything about new Ryzen Vega gpus. Which one are good that will not burn my pocket. I3-8100 is really cheap but it's MoBo are expensive. Please suggest best processor and its respective Mobo (suggest 2-3 MoBo). I might buy all of the components today. Thank You

Today I gave new life to my 11 yo desktop. An Intel E2180 Dual Core 2.0 Ghz on Intel DG31PR. New cpu-fan, New 1tb hdd and new PSU (Cooler Master MWE 450) with 2*2 GB ddr2 ram.
So i also attached a 1050ti to practice mining on windows 10 (all of my rigs are on HiveOS and I want to switch now) and it went alright. Now I am think buying 2 GPUs for mining on it. It has one PCI-E x16 and one x1. I know that gpu mining at a very high risk now but I will be building a gaming rig this year too so one of the gpus will be still useful if not for mining. So what do you think will work on my 450w CoolerMaster MWE ?
Where I live prices were always high compared to US. So here are approx prices I can get now :
Inno3d 1080 $553 (looking best to me)
1080ti $850-$950 (going rate)
Msi 1030 3gb $285
MSI Vega 56 airboost OR sapphire pulse vega56 $823 & $880 Sapphire pulse RX580 4g $419 Sapp pulse 570 4g $389
New gtx series won't come within next 3 months but by then I would have got some roi on these cards.

Yo ! Can Workstation gpus outperform gaming gpus in mining. One guy here said that they are like fpga (or I didn't understand correctly). Can they be modified and made into a better mining machine ?
No, a Quadro P6000 ($4,999) does not out perform a GTX 1080 Ti ($699) for mining, they are basically the same cards compute-wise. But, but this guy said something like this : Can workstation cards become useful for mining ? Damn ! They're gonna teach us FPGA next year in college.
You mean the FirePro type GPUs? Definitely. I have many many older FirePro cards that had plenty of memory bandwidth but underpowered (or over powered depending how you look at it) cores compared to the current gen. This cards got large page table support and some other niceties because of who the customers were. The also support an FPGA on the PCIe bus directly writing into / readying from their GPU memory (albeit at PCIe speeds). This works great with something like ETH, because you can do all the compute heavy Keccak off GPU but still use all the memory bandwidth.

Maybe Zcash devs statement on not forking was a decoy. Maybe they will fork once the ASIC arrive !

They are widely available compared to FPGAs. How do they compare to current gen GPUs. I have some old Quadro cards at home eating dust, wish they become useful.
