I used to have two mining rigs in my bedroom in a flat when I started out. Mining isn't any more dangerous than any other computer magnetic radiation-wise. You can google the effects of computer generated EMF. The noise can be annoying for some or even harmful (disturb your sleep) but I didn't mind at all since it was a constant background noise.
I had a window open at all times though.
Just make sure to de-dust them frequently and of course don't plan it to be a permament solution, try to find a place for the rig elsewhere.

All tokens/ICOs/airdrops are shit imo.

Ok i bought a gtx1050 monster card on eBay and in ewbf mining software it consistently rates at 150w at average. Winter highest rate for my energy bill last year was .25 $/kwh. Using that if i run the gpu mining non stop for a month, it comes up to this number: 150w x 1kw / 1000w x 24 h/day x 30 day/month = 108kw/month.
Multiplying by highest rate: 108 kw x .25 $/ kw =27$ per month. This is the price you pay for non stop mining at 150w with 0.25$/kw rate.
Does it sound about right?
It's basically: 0.15kW * $0.25 * 24h * 30days so yeah, $27 per month. But the PC itself is using probably around 50-70 watts too.

Ok let's talk about new windows update problems.. no idea what that is I run windows and as the OP stated, with each Windows update i apply to my poor rigs one or more GPUs fall out of excistance. I dont know how, or why, windows hates us poor miners I see absolutely no reason to have windows update enabled on mining rigs. Updates cause way more issues than solve. Even if a mining rig was compromised, no damage can be done or nothing could be stolen. Just manually update every few months.

Only use splitters if you know exactly what you're doing.

Ninja launch yet the network hashrate is absurdly high, if we are to follow the reports of the other users.
well there are many OG still around! https://explorer.polytimos.net/richlist looks balanced Each mined block goes to a different address unless configured otherwise so the richlist is useless. The top with 6k coins is probably the pool because that mines to one address.

Hmm... 9 Mh/s network, difficulty 0.9 and a i5 gets about 32kh/s. Guess solo mining already is a waste of time.
The dev team probably have their GPU miner. It should have launched with ccminer and sgminer to be truly fair. Just my 2c. Unless there is no ccminer or sgminer and they jsut have beefy cpus. I'm pushing about 1mh/s from my server on the cpu There's no point not having a GPU miner looking at the algo. If not the dev team then someone else making their own GPU miner mod will reap almost all the coins.

Last few month I've noticed bad tactics from nice hash, we all Know what they do. They pile on the coin, destroy the difficulty , take all the coins and then cut back on hash till difficulty levels lower.
So gpu mining algo gets updates to make sure asics can't mine.
Well why isn't the same thing as Asic protection happening with Nice hash. ?
Nice hash in its current form can be classed as hostile due to the way it works and it needs Tobe changed as with asics , nice hash has a unfair advantage which makes mining along side it unfair, hence why I call it hostile.
Because it's trivially easy to implement support for a new algo on their pools. Unfortunately, there isn't a solution that would prevent coins to be mined by pools. If a coin would come along that can only be solomined, that would be great but it can't be done as far as I know. Spreadcoin tried but ocminer proved them wrong because he managed to make it work on a pool.

What a bunch of dumbasses. They have way more money to waste than common sense.

Another premined, ICO, low mining reward, ASIC bullshit.

It's been a while since I've seen such an utterly amateurish project.

This is expected from such an amateur team. All the signs and delays were pointing towards this launch.

How do you think, can SegWit2x happen even after it was cancelled? People, who deal with crypto and heard the news that this event is possible are lost. Bitcoin is losing its positions. What now? Your opinion about altcoins if the fork happens.
Why should it happen? It shouldn't. If people really want to pay for their morning coffee with Bitcoin, bloctimes should also be decreased, along with bigger blocks. But there are hundreds of altcoins capable of doing that so why change Bitcoin? Why bloat the blockchain to hundreds of gigabytes so that not every can afford to run full nodes? Besides, it's not like you can pay for your morning coffee with shavings off of a gold ingot either, and if anything, Bitcoin is way more like gold than USD. That's the thing people don't understand. They still want bitcoin to be the payment method of their daily spendings. But we don't need this. There are coins have 1s block time. They're super fast. Why bitcoin for this? I'm writing this as a person supporting bitcoin hard. I believe it's an investment method more than a payment method. Just like gold. You don't pay gold for your mornin coffee for example. Yes, and the sooner people realize and accept this, the sooner we can move forward. And if not for altcoins, sidechains will be able to handle dust transactions and morning coffees.

Dash will have 2 MB blocks - which is absolutely pointless and just a marketing ploy; It's absolutely pointless for Dash to have 2MB blocks, their current blocks are empty as it is: Or: https://bitinfocharts.com/comparison/dash-size.htmlBased on eyeballing, the avarage blocksize seems to be roughly around 12 KB which is only 1.17% of the full capacity. So it's kind of just a marketing ploy than anything else. Otherwise I agree with your assesment. But, common sense is lacking these days so I wouldn't even be surprised if a coin would start advertising itself as being free-range and gluten-free and being pumped to the moon...

I strongly disagree!
The only dev's I have witnessed on the thread is putting a lot a work into the coin. And also seems to take great time to answer everyone's questions, yours included. And how do you figure they are deleting critical posts? If your post was deleted then the moderator must have agreed that your input was either plain destructive or completely irrelevant.
And someone also explained pretty thoroughly why the premine was made and how you were very welcome to your opinion and look elsewhere for other coins.
I bet my hashing power, albeit a small amount, in this coin.
That thread is self-moderated so the "dev" can remove posts on his own silencing the opposition. He even went back and deleted past posts. Fuck no!
I believe you're the one out of touch with reality! It's pretty common nowadays and after all, devs also need something to keep the servers running and themselves fed!! Besides, you raised the same issue on the main topic and got your answer. If you dont like it, feel free to ignore it!! I have to call you an idiot - which I very rarely do - who shouldn't be near crypto at all if you really don't mind that amount of premine. You lack the basic fundamentals of crypto and what it should it stand for. I'm not leaving it because some of you guys who are new to crypto are supporting cancerous projects and lure more newbies in and you will all get scammed which will turn people away from crypto which is not good for anyone.
