261  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2023/24 on: December 06, 2023, 01:45:38 AM
Right now, I see this as an opportunity for Barcelona. I see this as Barcelona having a good opportunity to decrease the difference of points between them and Girona.

Yes, Barcelona will obviously not be able to get four points from one match.
Reducing the gap from four points to one point is better than can not do it and still have four points less than Girona after the match or have a bigger difference like 7 points if Barcelona lose the match.

Quote
But if they can win, they will get one step closer to being in the second position of the table. And right now that is the main target of Barcelona. somehow, Real Madrid also ends up losing in the next match, or some will have only one point difference with both of them. So that will make things easier for Barcelona. But first Barcelona will have to concentrate on their own performance and win the match against Girona. I honestly do not think they will be able to win against Girona easily. I don't know if Barcelona will actually be able to win or not. Considering the fact that they are performing really well in this season, Barcelona will find it really hard to beat them.
Moreover they will be able to continue their race with Real Madrid by beating Girona and if luckily, if Real Madrid lose points, Barcelona can reduce their point differences against both Girona and Real Madrid.

The season is long but if Barcelona can do it after the match against Girona, they will have a big booster before Christmas and New year holidays before the season returns in January 2024. They will have some time from holidays to buy time for their injured players to recover, back to training and be ready for rest of the season.

Beating Girona looks to be challenging for Barcelona as Girona so far have shown that they are strong in mentality and really ready to make a history for their club in this season.
262  Economy / Reputation / Re: Most famous person on Bitcointalk? on: December 06, 2023, 01:39:34 AM
Bitcointalk prioritizes privacy of users and reveal about real names, new identities is not recommended.

It can cause personal dox attacks that is not allowed by forum rules.

There are some cypherpunks who are still active nowadays but on social media like X (Twitter). Some developed their own cryptocurrency projects and no longer develop Bitcoin.

263  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Comparing bitcoin halvings - 2012 to 2028 on: December 05, 2023, 10:25:01 AM
Price will be affected by many factors, not only halvings and block subsidy. Many factors that are unpredictable like adoption and regulation for Bitcoin and Bitcoin market.

Thinking that price will always rise and double or repeat ROI of previous cycles is unrealistic and even doing average of ROIs from previous cycles will not be enough to have a good price prediction.

I believe that Bitcoin will have a trend of shrinking ROI with time and with each halving but even so I still really believe that Bitcoin will be the best investment by considering ROI it brings and how safer it is than other cryptocurrencies.

265  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Antpool set to return 83.4btc transaction fee paid. on: December 05, 2023, 02:21:46 AM
What you meant is the real owner should sign a message from the first address that this wallet was first funded with? Just like I said it could be possible that the coins might have come from exchanges or that wallet keys is no longer available
As I followed news about that case, the owner already signed a message and prove ownership of the address from which the transaction was sent.

The signed message is posted on this account https://x.com/83_5BTC

The rest is verification of the pool and the deal between the pool and the owner. As I know, the pool is ready to pay it back and if ownership is verified, they will proceed those bitcoin back to the owner.

I don't check the address from which bitcoin was sent with the overpaid fee (not sure the X account posted a valid signed message) and it is the pool responsibility to do it.

Like this prediction?

Balaji Srinivasan Explains $1M Bitcoin Bet Rationale, Says Could Take Longer Than 90 Days.

If Bitcoin can skyrocket to $1M, there would be something really massive happens globally and in such scenario, $1M will not have too much purchasing power. Your prediction is $1B and the scenario for it too happen is a World War III. Honestly, who is living on Earth want to see a World War III?

I will wish that Bitcoin will not hit $1B but there will be no World War III in my life time.
267  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: BTC sent by mistake to localbitcoins wallet. How to recover? on: December 03, 2023, 02:02:43 PM
Mistakenly sent, but how?

Did you log in your LocalBitcoins account and get that receiving address before sending your bitcoin from Bittrex to that account?
It's possible, but in that case OP would probably have seen the notifications on the official website that the service has been shut down. It's more likely that he saved the LocalBitcoins address somewhere on his computer (email, personal notes) and mistakenly sent the coins to it thinking they were going elsewhere.
Yes, it is what I implied the meaning of the simple step which can give a lot of information, about that service, about the account, about notifications for service closure, address changes and more.

I assumed OP saved the address and did not log in his account like you said.

Even the platform is still operating, log in step can hep me to know that my account is banned, terminated, suspended and if it happened with my account, deposit into that account will cause a loss.
268  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: BTC sent by mistake to localbitcoins wallet. How to recover? on: December 03, 2023, 01:54:56 PM
Due to Bitrex exchange closure I had to withdraw  my  BTC and by mistake I sent  it to my old Local Bitcoins wallet .
Mistakenly sent, but how?

Did you log in your LocalBitcoins account and get that receiving address before sending your bitcoin from Bittrex to that account?

I, myself, consider it is a must step to do because it takes me some seconds to log in my account. It is a simple step but important to let me know that the exchange is still lively, and my account still has no issue, or the exchange changed their hot wallets and my old receiving address is no longer usable for deposit.

If you do that step, you will not make the mistake.

The Local Bitcoin refused to return  my founds stating that they warned not to send any btc and that we they do not do any incoming transactions reinbursments
They shut down their services months ago and surely have no responsibility to support customers for mistakenly deposit to an address of a dead platform.

Localbitcoins closing down in February 2023 and today, nearly the end of 2023, you still don't know about it.
269  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Please Help! Unconfirmed BTC TX on: December 03, 2023, 11:06:29 AM
@Biancamason940
Your 7 sat/vByte transaction confirmed, which is a bit surprising to me. Did the mempool empty to the point where it confirmed manually or did you accelerate it with Mempool.space? Some feedback would be appreciated because it can help others who are in the same situation as you. It would also give credibility to Mempool.space and it's acceleration service. I don't remember seeing a post where someone wrote about their experience using Mempool.space tx acceleration yet.
The transaction was confirmed about 2 days ago and I am really sure that mempools were not good enough to have normal confirmation for waiting transactions with fee rates about 7 sat/vbyte.

The block explorer shows the transaction was not opted in with RBF.

Both [1, 2] mempool observers did not show fee rates cheaper than 20 sat/vbyte on December 1. The transaction was confirmed in a block found by F2Pool.

Technically, can we know that a transaction is supported by tx accelerator or not and by what tool?
I searched and could not find anything to check this information.
270  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Correction is possible in bitcoin price? After 40,000$ on: December 03, 2023, 10:48:27 AM
It is difficult to predict Bitcoin in this short time frame, but there is nothing preventing us from reaching above $42,000 in the next few days. We may end this year with a rise above $48,000 before a correction occurs that takes us back to $42,000, with a small possibility that we will touch $32,000 the levels, so during this year we have a long range between $32,000 (50-Day SMA) up to $48,000.
It's hard to make predictions but the only thing I am sure is Bitcoin will not go straightly towards its 2021 all time high. It is my prediction but it is good to hold your coins, don't sell it before or shortly after the halving. When a bull run starts after 2024 halving, price will be higher than $40,000.

I do not think there will be any significant drop until spot bitcoin ETF has been approved. Even if it has been approved, the price of bitcoin will increase over $40000 if It has not increased to the price before the approval. Bear market may still come, but not until spot bitcoin ETF has been approved after the price has first continue to increase significantly after the approval. I mean after the approval, the price will also still increase, then little bear market may come before halving but which may not be significant at all.
Bitcoin Spot ETF approvals won't be a silver bullet to help Bitcoin rising without any correction. Even in a massive parabolic bull run, there will be many big corrections and with good recovery of Bitcoin during 2023, so far there is not big correction.

I am not surprised in last days of this year or early days of 2024, there will be big corrections. Those big corrections are healthy to get rid of gamblers and prepare for a healthier bull run in 2024 with a halving.
271  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: X.com (Twitter) is approving phishing website ads, beware on: December 03, 2023, 10:36:22 AM
There are many impersonating accounts on X nowadays and those scammers try to impersonate accounts of big accounts on X, exchange accounts. They use those impersonating accounts to follow other users and try to find potential victims.

I am experienced enough to know those ones are impersonators but for newbies, they will have to deal with big risk. If they receive PMs from those impersonating accounts and think it is real offers from real accounts of exchanges ie. they will be scammed.

272  Other / Meta / Re: Mixers Signatures : A challenge or Respect on: December 02, 2023, 09:42:27 AM
Mixer signature campaigns aren't the only signature campaigns around. There are other more. Are you saying that removing mixer signatures will kill the ecosystem of the forum? Don't overreact. Smiley
Without problems from mixers, theymos even considered to ban signature advertisements too. Signatures and signature advertisements were not here at beginning so the forum will not be killed even if all signatures are banned.

Signature advertisers: suggestions?
Ideas for improving post quality?

Honestly, I find signature advertisements distasteful, and it is not impossible that I will someday ban the practice. However, it's obviously an important part of the forum ecosystem today. So if you use signatures for advertising, what are your suggestions for forum improvements in that area?

For example, one idea I had was to allow users to subscribe to campaigns that other users set up, and then the campaigner could automatically push signature updates to everyone subscribed, and also track exactly when and for how long each user was subscribed. Would this be significantly useful? I'm not all that familiar with how these signature campaigns work, so I'm not sure.

However: the forum will never intermediate these transactions. We will not touch the money involved or perform any sort of "screening", etc. Also, I have no particular desire for the forum to take a cut of sig-ad transactions.

(I'm probably not going to implement anything in this area very soon, but the matter has been on my mind lately, and I wanted to see what people thought.)

What are everyone's ideas for improving post quality?

I have mostly ruled out:

- Removing signatures or sig ads globally.
 - Requiring payment to wear sig ads.
 - Banning account sales.

A couple of ideas that have been floating around in my head:

1. To attain ranks above Member, you'd have to earn some number of merit points. Merit points would be awarded in a monthly vote on best posts of the previous month, with various measures (TBD) to prevent gaming of the vote. Winning merit points might also come with a BTC prize.

2. Create or designate some sections as "serious discussion" sections, with no signatures. In those sections or maybe in different ones, also have poster restrictions such as Member rank or above only. And/or allow topic-creators to set these restrictions on their topics, similar to selfmod topics.

What do you think of these ideas, and what other ideas do people have?
273  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Trying to withdraw ENJ from 1 exchange to 2 - issues on: December 02, 2023, 04:25:08 AM
i have ENJ coin on one exchange and the only option to withdraw is through  network:  Enjin Relay Chain  ,     the second exchange has the only option to deposit via network : ENJ ERC20 - which is not a compatible network...

so what can i do here ?  is there any posibility to send this to DEFI wallet such as TRUST ore METAMASK  and somehow make a swap there ?
You have two choices but both will need you to pay withdrawal fee on the exchange you are currently storing your ENJ there.

You can find many exchanges support ENJ on Relay Chain for deposit and move your ENJ there directly. Because the second exchange you are using does not support Relay chain for deposit of ENJ, you will have to find another exchange.

Second option is to move your ENJ from that exchange (must pay withdrawal fee) to your web3 non custodial wallet on Relay Chain. Be aware that you only can swap coins, tokens on a same chain. You can use bridges but they are risky and many big hacks on cryptocurrency bridges. Don't use them if you can do it even with a middle step between chains and exchanges.

Check withdrawal fee and supported chains of exchanges for ENJ https://coinmarketfees.com/enjin-coin
274  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Trust wallet KYC verification Phishing mail. Beware! on: December 02, 2023, 04:12:10 AM
If Trust wallet requires KYC on users, they will pin that super important announcement at their X account. https://twitter.com/TrustWallet

There is no announcement like that on Trust wallet's X account.

Trust wallet is non-custodial but it is close source and it was acquire by Binance years ago. If you are a fan of non-custodial wallets but must be open-source, you will look for other wallets with open-source.

This scam attempt was reported at Trust wallet community https://community.trustwallet.com/t/probable-scam-relating-to-kyc/832975

Because you received that scam email, check your email address with https://haveibeenpwned.com/
275  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin mixing is NOT money laundering, per se on: December 02, 2023, 04:07:27 AM
BlackHatCoiner, could you add this point to OP as additional information for mixer definition, please.

It is not a mixer definition but is part of elements to consider a mixer is illegal or not.

A cryptocurrency mixing service is not necessarily illegal.

It won't change anything because the admin decided and Mixers to be banned but I think with that quote, it can add a useful information for your topic.
276  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Are We Need Satoshi? on: December 01, 2023, 02:33:21 AM
Satoshi has created it and it is running as it should be.
So, like what deviser created in the past, Even they no longer exist, their creations are still ongoing until today like lamps, electrical, televisions, cars, etc.
This means, we don't need Satoshi anymore, because we can develop itself without his direction.
Bitcoin development has become increasingly rapid without satoshi. The Bitcoin networks are getting better after satoshi leave, this mean the bitcoin team is always work in line with what satoshi expected.
Satoshi Nakamoto created Bitcoin, initiated Bitcoin blockchain by mining the Genesis block and developed Bitcoin in early months.

Now 14 years after the Bitcoin Genesis Block, Bitcoin is no longer a baby and it can continue its life, survive without Satoshi Nakamoto. Bitcoin network is decentralized, it has open source code and there are massive developer communities to support and continue developments for Bitcoin. In 2023, there are more Bitcoin developers than in 2008, 2009 or 2010 so why do we have to need Satoshi Nakamoto in 2023 and in future?

277  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Scams Bitcoin Mixers List and Services closed on: December 01, 2023, 02:24:00 AM
Now that we have another mixer down in the forum, you will add to the list.
The mixer was down and seized by government authorities, not down in the forum. A service can be lively even their team abandon an announcement thread in Bitcointalk.

I know what mixer you meant but your information is not really accurate and I know their announcement thread was archived, that service representative account was banned by the admin too.

This came as a surprise to many in the forum because immediately after Royse777 announced the escrow address has been refilled and it was not up to 3 or hours when the seizure announcement came in to the forum.
It is coincidence.

Quote
And I don't know why mixers are used for this act.
Mixers are like other services and products which all can be used by criminals. You can not block all criminals to use any service.

Quote
But I still believed that there are still good mixers exist.
Mixers are good if they have good mixing process for their users but if criminal money comes to mixers, governments will consider these mixers are illegal and will seize those service websites.

279  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Treat exchanges the way you treat your casino accounts. on: November 30, 2023, 10:32:29 AM
We have an opportunity to have full control of our money. A system different from the traditional banking system, so what purpose is moving from the traditional banking system if you'll just end up keeping your money in a centralized exchange?
Centralized exchanges have their sweet attraction that can not be denied by many cryptocurrency enthusiasts. They and you can use centralized exchanges, it's not like a dead pill that will kill us immediately when we touch and use it.

It's just we must be careful when using centralized exchanges and how we assign our money for our accounts on centralized exchanges. It should be a very small part of our money. If we lose it, we will be still good enough with rest money that is not stored on centralized exchanges.

Reminder: do not keep your money in online accounts

280  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Ronaldo Faces $1 Billion Class Action Lawsuit For Promoting Binance!! on: November 30, 2023, 08:32:24 AM
Tho I believe $1B is easy money for Ronaldo, but this is a class action anyway, and to be honest I think the claim is quite ridiculous, Ronaldo will most likely win the class action, he just advertise Binance in general and Binance now has become a multi-activity platform. Ronaldo doesn't specifically encouraging people to invest in a certain crypto.
It is a bull shit news against Cristiano Ronaldo and even I knew some celebrities had to pay money because of their advertisement for some scam projects like Kim Kardashian, I don't believe Ronaldo will have to pay that very big cost, it's $1B, not $1M.

Kim Kardashian pays $1.26 million fine for paid crypto ad, SEC says.

From $1.26M to $1B, it's massive difference.
