261  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: You must do this if you want to QUIT or NOT on: July 19, 2023, 08:34:53 AM
Now, if you still want to gamble but you don't want to become addicted to it, one of the things you should do in my opinion is:

1. Only set aside an amount of money that you will use to gamble in a casino.
2. Don't think that you will gamble to make money, because if you do that, you will surely have a problem later.
3. Just spend a few hours staying in a casino to gamble so you can avoid what you don't realize is wasting time that you should be spending on important things instead of gambling.
The first in the list is 'Recognize the problem'. But even though we already know the problem, we still keep on doing it. I think that is because we are too weak to handle it on our own. This is where other numbers on your list came in like 'Confide in a love one' or 'Seek professional health/help'. On your second paragraph/sentence, I think it's okay to think about making a profit in gambling.

I believe almost all of us are like that. The only thing that we are following to not get into a serious problem, is to set a realistic profit that we will take out, just in case we get lucky and win. Being greedy is not a good thing. The more you want, the less you will get or you will only end up with nothing.
262  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling effects on LGBTQ+ People on: July 19, 2023, 06:02:41 AM
First time I am hearing about that issue, it's quite sad if people are too afraid to visit a real casino and only play online. Hopefully there will be some punishments for the physical casinos that treat LGBTQ+ people differently, same goes for the employees. In my opinion we are all the same, everybody wants to have a good time and for the casino it shouldn't really matter who is placing their bets and who wins in their house. I would have thought that the casino is more interested in having a larger number of visitors to make a higher profit. This is another great example of the benefit of online gambling over the traditional casinos, there is no racism or treating people differently for their believes. Personally, I prefer online gambling anyways more than visiting my local casino, because its more comfortable. I don't have to drive to so far, can stay in my home, have a snack when I want and can take breaks and watch a movie if I am too tired.
No, you don't need to be sad about them but it's only a normal trait of some people. There are people who are shy or insecure about their selves. I think some of these LGBTQ+ are like that. Maybe they advance think that people inside the casino will judge them. Not only inside the casino actually but on almost any place they will go. You know the people, they always like to tease others when they think they are a little different.

But, LGBTQ+ right now have been accepted by the public so the members of those group should not be afraid to hang out in different establishments. Casino has no gender restrictions, just age although playing online has other benefits so maybe this was also the reason on why some of them prefers it.
263  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Circulating supply matters to you? on: July 18, 2023, 05:04:01 PM
What is the fair percentage of a total max supply that are in circulation that can make you invest in a project? It is fine to avoid a project that has low circulating supply? Why? What about if the project is a brand new project and the use case is killing it?
Not sure. But I can tell you that any circulating supply above the "millions" is totally not worth it. That's if you're looking into coins that're ideal as a store of value. Cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin, Litecoin, and Dash all have an extremely-limited circulating supply. The max supply is also lower compared to other coins being traded on the market today. You can invest into them now, and obtain huge returns in the future (especially Bitcoin). I cannot say the same about Ethereum, Cardano, BNB, and the likes. These have large circulating supplies, making them useful only as digital cash.

Depending on your needs, will be the type of coin to choose. Be advised that just because a coin has a large circulating supply, doesn't mean it's destined to failure. It's all about how active the coin is in terms of development and innovation, and what use cases it provides to the world. As long as you play your cards right, you'll be able to avoid losing it all further down the road. Who knows which altcoins will be able to stand the test of time? Just my thoughts Grin
Above millions is still within a million e.g 999.999 million and I think it was still better compared to a billion or more supply. BTC and many other good cryptos has a million supply though. Many coins nowadays are only just a junk, that is why they have boat loads of supply. If there is a coin that can be called as a digital cash, it was still Bitcoin. This is its main concept. It's fast, fees aren't that high, and popularly accepted almost anywhere.

Other coins that you named are good for an asset use because of their huge supply and we can see that their growth rates are very slow. If there is an altcoin that can last long like BTC, that would definitely be ETH.
264  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Signs that indicate you are not addicted to gambling on: July 18, 2023, 04:15:33 PM
These signs suggest a healthy relationship with gambling and indicate that you are not addicted. What other signs do you know of?
This is new. Usually what we see is the opposite like : What are the signs that you are addicted to gambling? But, I think that can also work the same, I mean if you can't find your signs there, that simply means you are not addicted to gambling yet. That's great and don't be confident this time saying that you will play a little harder.

You never know, what if you exceed within the limit? And once you are at that point, things are going to be harder now to return. What can happen next is you will just go with the flow like many other addicted gamblers. You are lucky if there are people that will care about your condition because they might help you get over it.
265  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Will you cheat in gambling? on: July 18, 2023, 03:40:41 PM
Rather than cheating it is all about utilising the opportunity. It is really hard to win against the machines. There are people who are skilled enough to cheat the machines through learning. I don't have the patience to learn as well as try against the gambling machines that are completely focused on profit making. I will go with fixed bets, because in the past I've won with fixed bets information shared on our forum. I'm not sure how far the bet is real information or coincidence, but I was able to win a fixed bet.
after you said about rigging a machine i remember in the past there was a young man who cheated a slot machine taking advantage of the bottom hole in the slot machine instead he used a small amount of money and tried to poke money out of the hole at the bottom of the machine those slots.
from this I conclude that cheating offline gambling is possible but cheating online gambling is a little impossible and even very risky for our accounts. I support your statement that it would be better if you choose a fixed bet rather than having to seek profit from crime against the dealer.
That coin poking thing do also happen here in our place but it wasn't a gambling machine that is involved but it is an arcade video game. Kids does this all the time whenever the owner of the gaming place is not around and there are no CCTV's back in time so they never get caught. Not gonna lie but I got involved with it before.

Of course I realized that it was wrong and as a grown-up man, I never done it again. Cheating online is possible for a skilled hacker and then it was also safer because they can use some tools to hide their identity. If their accounts get caught and close down, they can easily create another one and do the same thing again.
266  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Understanding Crypto Tokens And What's The Difference With Crypto Coins? on: July 18, 2023, 04:21:23 AM
I have accepted that language changes. I used to get arguments about the origins and now i just don't care anymore. I've seen even talented developers using term "native token" about their incentives in L1. At that point i got frustrated and decided that this is not worth my time anymore so i completely stopped trying to preach the origins to everyone.

People have been using name shitcoins and memecoins more often then meme tokens or shit tokens so i am assuming it have been a lost battle for a while now. I don't really care. People who care understand the difference and people who don't care... Well i don't care if they do. It's not like they have even any say in the matter.
Why don't you care? Shouldn't fellow forum members be mutually beneficial to one another ?, so as to create a forum environment full of knowledge and understanding. I feel the warmth of the forum all this time, I think we should care about each other, right?
Keep it cool buddy. I think he is not referring to you. What you did there was still helpful for some who are still new in crypto or even to the veterans who didn't know yet the difference between the two but of course, as long as you did your research first and found out that there is no existing thread yet about this one. You guys are right, so many people often mistaken coins with tokens.

@o48o already gave a sample in the form of meme coins and shit coins. I think I know the reason on why they got used to it. Might started with DOGE because DOGE was a coin and not a token but it wasn't a big deal as saying that Bitcoin is a token. Many people will surely be offended by that.
267  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: How to choose varieties for investing in altcoins? on: July 16, 2023, 05:55:59 PM
Take your time to do research on coins listed on big exchanges like Coinbase, Binance, etc., these coins aren't getting anywhere so you don't have to rush (FOMO). The reason why big exchanges are like what @Xal0lex said, i.e., the liquidity. The longer you hold, the risk will be higher (and the return as well). So if you are a beginner, you might only want short-term trading. The easiest way to do research is by sorting the coins by their market cap.
So many coins can only come and go and a few can pump huge so hurrying up does actually matter. If we are late, we should not insist of push our selves on the coin who just pumped because there is a big chance that we will get trapped inside it. There are still plenty of fish in the sea so it's better to just move on the next potential one.

A poor coin will look decent in the hands of a big exchange and there are people who scout them there so it won't run out of liquidity at first. New risky coins are only good for short-term HODLing. Only the risk is going to rise the longer you HODL them and not the reward. If we want a coin for the long-term, active old coins are the only way to go. This is also perfect for the beginners.
268  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How was your first experience with gambling? on: July 16, 2023, 05:10:24 PM
My gambling journey began in college when I was introduced by a friend who made lot's of profits from an odd given to him by his coursemate, of which he staked very high and boomed, his winning got my attention cause i needed some  cash to sustain myself as a student, he taught me to create an account then with a particular sports betting app and gave me a 50odds which comprises of 10 Epl games he asked me to stake high which I did with a spare 5k I had and boomed, i was very happy to earn such a huge amount of money, so I always went to this particular friend for games whenever we meet.
It went on and on until he graduated and I couldn't keep in touch with him, then I decided to make predictions by myself with the little experience I had from him, on a particular day I was able to come up with about 12 games of up to 200 odds but out of greed and quest to earn more I decide to include another game which I felt was very sure, I could remember it was Barcelona against Malaga and I picked Barcelona to win over magala which is very possible with Barcelona given about 1.20 odds against Malaga given about 15 odds , to cut the long story short, could you believe other games played and Barcelona being the only game with the smallest odds made me lose, lol I felt very bad and regretted including that particular game cause i almost won about 500k in my local currency and that particular game stopped me from winning.
Moral lesson: Greed is not a friend to gambling, do not gamble with greed, lol.
$5k was a lot for a spare cash. I thought you are a poor guy? You are lucky to have that kind of friend but why you never get his contact details? So that you guys can still to talk each other even not personally. You could have ask if what is his secret and if he passed it to you, you are not going to heavily rely on him anymore but you can now make money on your own.

You are already greedy when you go for 200 odds but I was surprised how you got lucky on it. If only not because of that 1 game you add, you could have gained a massive profit but that's just it goes sometimes. A lot of us here can relate on your story. I hope you learn your lesson now.
269  Economy / Economics / Re: Things you should know about Money mindset on: July 15, 2023, 05:31:51 PM
[1] There is money everywhere - When we were young, many of us were taught by our parents to study hard and then enter a good company to work after graduating. And there is nothing wrong with this, But there are also many of us who until they are old know that this is the only way to earn money, but you will notice that this is not the only option because you can build a business, offer a service to earn money of money.
In fact there are many incidents like that among parents today. Instead of developing the talents that their children have, instead they tell them to become employees and forget about the hidden talents that these children have. So because there are thoughts like that, many young people today are monotonous and don't develop well in the field of making money. Therefore thoughts and understandings like that really have to be reduced and balanced with broad thoughts towards the view of making or making money.
That isn't new. It is like a tradition already. I think the parents are not selfish but they also think about the life of their children. They don't want their children to be like them if they are poor. As for the rich, they also want their children to be like them. It will be a shame to them if their family wont be like their ancestors.

To earn money doesn't always mean to be an employee but it can also be on a self-serving business and other fields. The talents of their kids are still being followed. I remember there are parents who are angry about their kids because they only see them playing video games but by the time their parents know that their kids are earning money through it, they are now fully supporting them.
270  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Can gambling and crypto trading be considered as skills with $10k gain a month? on: July 15, 2023, 04:48:39 PM
It is possible to earn $10k per month from gambling and trading but you need to invest heavily.  But these will not guarantee you constant big income and you may lose your principal in some months. being an expert in trading can be called a skill but I am confused if it can be considered a skill in gambling. Because gambling is so risky that no one can guarantee win here. no matter how expert he is. so I don't consider it as a skrill
For trading maybe, as long as you are skillful and then you have a decent capital but for gambling I doubt it's possible, maybe you can only lose an amount like that. Investing is another activity although when you put something, be it time and money, it can still be called as investing.

We shouldn't invest heavily but we should only invest what we can afford to lose so that all aren't going to be hard once we fail. Skills are still possible in gambling but luck is what you need the most to be successful in it. Trading is risky just like in gambling but the risk can be minimized depending on our skill. In gambling, the limit of minimizing risk was a little higher.
271  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin - how low will we go in 2023? on: July 15, 2023, 04:08:21 PM
I feel like having a break as I am starting to feel we could go close to the lows of last year, not sure if we will go that low but could go close so thinking of waiting until we see at least another 10% drop to buy more.
Don't rest just yet because it's time to keep collecting Bitcoins because the ship we are waiting for is almost at the port.
The developed FUD can be a positive momentum for those of us who want to increase the number of assets in our wallets that we will hold.
Many of us are not new in the market anymore but we can't help to be assuming sometimes. They think Bitcoin is supposed to do something great this time because it's been a while since the last pump have happened.

FUD's can occur from time to time no matter what is the market condition, whether it is in bullish or bearish state. Having a break is not wrong but it is beneficial for one to relax and loosen the stress or tension that builds up over time. The moment he comes back he will now be stronger than ever. And we don't know maybe he already have tons of Bitcoin sitting on his wallet and is only waiting for the right moment to sell it?
272  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What attracted you to gambling?Share your experience whether good/bad. on: July 15, 2023, 01:58:10 PM
I got persuaded by my colleagues because I noticed they always ends at the winning side in gambling, only for me to realized that it was never my bidding, I liquidated my bank accounts all because I got motivated and inspired each time I lost, they keep winning, but these winning doesn't come all the time. With time, I come to the realization that the earlier quit, I would be a freeman completely from debts and tense emotions. We're into gambling primarily for the reasons of lack of finances, we need sources that would generate these sources of us, and in a more faster way, not everyone have the patience to wait for salaries.
Gambling mainly depends on luck and each people's luck are random. If not then it will be a disaster for all of the casinos. At one point many of them are closing down but on the other, their business are growing quickly. Don't be too discouraged if you cannot win in gambling. It's not the main objective of it anyway but it was about having fun. Yes even if we lose, the fun part is still there while if we don't, there won't be anymore.

If money only matters to you, well, that is a different story. Obviously, you will still be smiling. Regrets always happens at the end. Don't beat yourself too much as it was already done but just focus on how you can improve yourself on the current moment and onwards.
273  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Italian League Prediction Thread (Serie A) on: July 14, 2023, 07:01:34 PM
Milan not having any good young players up top is definitely a big deal but I also think that it is going to end up with them being a bit different in the end as well. We can't really make sure that it is going to be a tough situation for them just to get a striker, they should be able to do so. I am not saying get a world star level player, but at least get some 25 year old or younger player that can play on the cup games and league games when the ones they have are tried.

Like Giroud is a great player but he is 100 years old, he is not going to be able to play all that many games and if given the chance he could potentially end up retiring as well, so him being their starter is really not a good idea if you ask me.
After winning title in 21/22 Milan were never been at their best and this all happen just because of their finances which are currently the biggest issue and if they are not going to spend now then surely in next season 23/24 things could be worst for then as now we have few teams with good changes and better players can bring them down from top four which could be surely disaster for them incoming years, but their performance in Champions League was also good which is surely creating good atmosphere for them and as promise by Milan president if they spend some good funds and able to bring few good players then surely we can expect good fight again in nest season right now we have Inter Milan, Juventus, Napoli and AS Roma as toppers but can they join them it's surely needing good spending from them in next few weeks.
I feel like not having that kind of money is a big issue for them and if they have to then they should just sell the team to a rich owner. It is a club with a rich history and a great big fan base and a worldwide viewership so it would be pretty good investment for a rich person and that rich person could put some money in there to make the team much better and then use that to sell it again much higher while making a profit.

If not, they are going to suffer, look at them right now, it looks like they are suffering and there is no way out of that so far. I know that it is going to be a bit of a trouble so far, but I think it is going to be an issue if they do not find a way to bring money into the club, it is just not going to happen.
274  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Bitcoin trading and gambling on: July 14, 2023, 06:30:03 PM
In my opinion trading can be both gambling and not gambling depending on how you are seeing it. Trying to do risks spot trading on altcoins, it becomes a full gamble. With non-spot trading types, you are again fully gambling. The only non-gambling trading is bitcoin on spot market.

But it is natural to be inclined towards risky trading and therefore bitcoin spot trading is the least attractive for newbies. This should be decided by the trader as to how much risk they can handle with knowledge of the rewards

Trading is an EV+ gambling in a broad spectrum definition. Just do it as long as you are comfortable in it.
Trading is trading while gambling is gambling. When I say gambling I mean the ones with different games on them like poker and roulette. If we talk about risks then both has a gambling element on them. It does not matter if you trade Bitcoin and you are an experienced trader already because I believe there is still a risk there even by just a tiny percent. Many newbies are attracted to trading.

These newbies better start with spot type and then use Bitcoin as their currency. If they already build an experience, that is the time for them to move to altcoins and other types of trading. Investing using Bitcoin is still the best for a newbie before proceeding into trading.
275  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How was your first experience with gambling? on: July 14, 2023, 05:48:10 PM
Gambling is a game that has an addictive effect. Most people who have joined gambling sites will find it difficult to get out of the gambling circle. It doesn't matter how much you lose at gambling, as long as we still have money, we will continue to gamble

Can you share your first experience playing gambling? and who told you about gambling sites?

I myself know gambling sites from my own friends. I idly and try to deposit. Starting from playing with a little money, after a while I didn't know how much money I had spent playing gambling
The amount that we lose does matter. What if you lose big amounts? Do you think it's easy to accept it? No, but there is that revenge feeling that we will experience. Losing small amount doesn't always mean that a gambler won't continue playing for more. They still can because they think their losses are still small. My first gambling experience here in the crypto world is not great. I ended up ALL-IN'ing my balance in the default setting of dice and my first bet was a loss.

No one told me about that casino but I only saw that here in the forum because it was promoted through a signature campaign. Tracking expenses in gambling can be optional because some of us don't take it seriously. If you are still curious if how much you spend, you can always check the history of your gambling account.
276  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Who is to be blamed, the gambler or the betting agent on: July 14, 2023, 05:08:10 PM
The betting agent tries to take advantage of his customer because the more he spends, the more profit he will get from the customer, the betting agent has crossed the limits of what he should have done and now he accepts his greedy attitude. Because as a betting agent, he understand the risks of gambling and coupled with the risk of providing loans, which also have a risk where the debtor cannot repay the loan, and it could be that the betting agent is used to doing this, only this time he is dealing with a customer who turns out to have no financial ability and in the end he will lose his money. Important lesson not to take advantage of people for self-interest because the results can actually be detrimental to oneself
While this is common I still think this is wrong, I mean look at online casinos, they do not give loans to their customers and yet they are a thriving industry and it would not surprise me if they were generating now more profits than land based casinos, so trying to take advantage of gamblers in this way by giving them loans may work for a time and increase the profits of that casino, but I am sure there are many gamblers out there that if they found out this information they will decide to stop gambling at that casino out of fear this could happen to them.
Not wrong but it's risky on the side of the casino owner. What if the gambler won't pay and won't come back again on the casino? Gambling plus loaning is something that won't fit. It's a bad idea. For loans, there is already a separate company for that. They have special conditions to make sure that they won't lose big in the long run.

The cheap internet, gadgets which has the ability to connect to the internet and covid has made people more exposed online or to online casinos. No wonder why they are growing and seems to surpass the land-based casinos. When a gambler found out that a casino offer loans, the more they will play on there. It's the casino is the one who will experience a fear.
277  Economy / Economics / Re: Invest in Marketing on: July 13, 2023, 06:23:35 PM
Marketing is very important to send an introduction to custumer, and indeed many business sectors need marketing to increase their popularity and sales, especially products that have many competitors in the same industry, of course various ways need to be done to do marketing, and yes like that said @poker player there are several companies that do not do marketing in such a way because they have a strategy in their own marketing about the product I agree with that.
Ads on Facebook, YouTube, Google, and others, and others, I don't know how effective it is for marketing, because there is no ratio of the percentage of how much the product you sell, so for me who is lay in marketing by utilizing social media like that, I Don't know how effective it is to marketing.
I think it is more effective in marketing carried out by influencens on social media than relying on services provided directly by the platform.
Marketing is the oxygen to grow a company. In this digital era digital marketing is very effective for all online based companies. and among digital marketing, SEO is very popular and effective marketing strategy nowadays. and it helps to get organic visitors.  and through social media like facebook twitter etc. marketing is also possible. and the more money a company spends on marketing, the more successful the company can be. so definitely money should be invested for marketing
I think it was the location if it's an offline business. Once it is located on a crowded area, people will naturally noticed it. If it's online I think domain name is what matters because when someone search up a keyword which are close to that domain name, it will easily appear in the search engine.

If we don't have them and you are getting less costumers then that might be the time to do a marketing. Before we get confident and spend tons of money for it, we need to make sure that the service that we offer is already top-notch because this is still the one that makes people avail our service and then they will keep on coming back once they liked it.
278  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Test Cricket Prediction and Discussion Thread [self - mod] on: July 13, 2023, 05:39:06 PM
The Windies didn't get any wickets so far but their bowlers are doing a great job, spinners in particular keeping things very tight and rarely giving any freebies, which is good to watch.

Spinners did trouble both openers but batters are all set and must be eyeing their 100s. The Windies are in for a hard grind in this inning because of the deep batting lineup of India.
West Indians doing good job in bowling after having poor in batting, but things are still looking for the inning defeat with right now openers are playing comfortably even have slow run-rate, but this all is good for the Indian because right now they are leading by 40 runs and if things gone in this way for some more time then surely they can touch 400+ and this could be ended for the home-side.

Jaiswal is already in nervous nineties as he is playing his first test match and Rohit Sharma is also doing good job and playing against his own style which is also good for the India and captain today most chances we will have 300+ with the lost of one or two wickets could be all OK with one man surely needs to stay until end of the day.
279  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Healthy mindset to save earnings from gambling on: July 13, 2023, 05:12:16 PM
Most lottery winners have no plan in place to replace the money and attempt to live the lifestyle of a billionaire on a few million dollars. One's attitude rather than a lack of resources is what makes someone poor and broke.  People are broken on the inside.  They are ignorant of the nature and how powerful money is.  To make more money, money must be spent and invested.  The majority of people were never taught that, so when they win large in the lottery or casinos, they quickly lose it.  The secret to the rich staying wealthy is first their mindset and second who they talk to. They either don't seek financial advisor assistance or they completely disregard it.  And really what they have to do is put up a portfolio with some Treasury securities, blue-chip companies, and both commercial and residential real estate, and live off the interest. But they never do it.
I think they also think of it and they have tried some things or businesses to regain the money that they have lost but some of they are not lucky about it. Their spendings are still bigger than what they earn so they end up using most of their wins and eventually all of it will be gone. These people never have that kind of money before so they are only spoiling their selves. I see nothing wrong with that.

What important is they enjoy even if they will ran out of money soon. We can't bring our money in the other world once we unfortunately perish in the real world, so it is still better to use them now as long as you are still healthy and capable of doing a lot of things.
280  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is Algorand dead or can it recover? on: July 12, 2023, 06:03:32 PM
I hold Algorand and not sure if I should buy these low prices or just hold and accept its over ??

It is currently at its lowest price in 3 years and almost at its all time low.

The SEC labelling it a security has put a lot of fear into everyone.

Does it have a future or is it over?
In my opinion, the current situation has indeed made cryptocurrency prices fall, including the price of Algorand, but as long as Algorand still has a progress, then of course Algorand can still recover and increase again, so if you really feel that Algorand has progress and still active, then you don't need to worry, so you need to keep holding and doing DCA Algorand to be able to get profits quickly.
Please don't tell me it was the bear you are thinking? But we are almost out of it. As of now, any strong crypto can be able to rise on its own but I don't see that Algorand is among with it. And If its true, then it was already being talked about everywhere. Still, I don't think Algorand is dying.

Maybe it's true that it still has some progress. That was enough already to get qualified for the next bull run. He thinks everything is over for Algorand but why would he decide to HODL it then?
