261  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: PETRO (PTR) The crypto-asset of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela on: February 27, 2018, 12:49:37 AM
I am also monitoring this cryptocurrency as it was back up  by Venezuelan government. If this succeed,  many government will follow. Many government are also mo monitoring this ICO in my opinion, and in a short period of time  we will be seeing that several government will be using this platform in raising funds. I think Turkey issued that they will have their own ICO together with IRAN and others.

262  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Thoughts on NANO? on: February 27, 2018, 12:43:46 AM
Good  project I may say. I first got it when it was Raiblocks or XRB. Now that it was renamed as NANO, I think it has more potential. I already set aside a portion of my crypto assets on this, as part of my portfolio. I know it has a long way to go, but they have a solid project. I hope it will reach new highs.

Re: Sell and buy ethereum?

Why not? I think its better to hold a portion or percentage of  your crypto assets or portfolio in Ethereum. Its better  idea to spread your  crypto assets and Ethereum is a good one to put on. Its number 2 in  coinmarketcap next to bitcoin, meaning its stable enough and wont not lose its value easily. So far, there are many projects and ICO under Ethereum.
264  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is a million dollars possible? on: February 27, 2018, 12:15:26 AM
If one were to buy and hold solid  avaerge coins (not a coin that kicks out and gets 10000% gain), but rather a nice steady gain like eth, Ltc etc (top 20) and starts with 10k, is it possible to reach a million without trading and buying/selling at highs and lows? If so, how long would you predict it would take? Or are most coins not going to last long term, so every 6 months would I have to rebalance with newer coins?

ofcourse it is possible when you have a plan and strategy, crypto market has it's own rulles and being milioner in this industry is so easy. sketch your goal and find some ways to reach them. there are so many people that they are milioner now, with having good protocol for their self

Yes very possible, and we know someone that has been lucky enough. he got more than a million coins and when the price hits more than a dollar, he becomes millionaire. You'll surprise what a crypto may give you, and its very inspiring to know such story. It gives us motivation when we see someone becomes successful.
265  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Will Polymath overtake Ethereum? on: February 26, 2018, 11:21:46 PM
Guys Polymath is going to be huge. So far listed on limited exchanges, but once they hit more, then we will all win

Polymath is very promising project. I read their plans  and sounds legit anyway. But to reach the place same as Ethereum takes time, and I believe not any time soon. Polymath needs more marketing and let their technology by known and used by many. I have also polymath token for long hold.
266  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Are you sick of cliche trading advice? on: February 26, 2018, 11:11:36 PM
You forgot the two most imfamous cliche trading tips of all time and those are

-DYOR (do your own research for those who don't know Wink)
-Invest what you can afford to lose

Yes, this is very common  along with "Buy Low, Sell High". Seems very simple but its difficult if you don't know the perfect timing to sell and buy. LOL Also, you will understand the "Invest what you can afford to lose" if you are in the situation, when you totally wreck/rekt. This advise is really helpful and  you'll appreciate it, when you are in the situation.
267  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 🔥How to get New Bitcoin Hard Fork which is coming soon? on: February 26, 2018, 11:00:45 PM
As far as I know, you have to check what wallet those  hard fork is supporting. They have instruction there. Also check for what exchanges they are  going to support too. If it is supported by bittrex, then you can move your btc in bittrex in order to benefit those hard fork. Be informed and updated always , always check their website, twitter and blogs.
268  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: KYC - Passports and documents for sale on Dark Web on: February 26, 2018, 10:50:36 PM
There has been a huge influx of passport available for sale on the Dark Web.

Also have seen posts where people are being accused of double entry into ICO's because the scammers used their passport information prior to them getting signed up.

Thats dangerous because our ID might be used in some illegal activities and we wont know what will happen to use,the best thing to do is not to join any of these ICOs because we can still have these tokens after these projects has been listed to exchanges,in that way our privacy wont be compromised, not all the people are willing to risk their privacy.

I think this is alarming too. Personal information is covered by data privacy act but how can we be sure that the company we've sent our info will not use, sell or abused our information. Now, there are leaking information on  dark web, our personal security is compromise.
269  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Arrogance of Bitcoin is its own main Enemy on: February 26, 2018, 10:26:50 PM
i have observed that now bitcoins arrogance causes its price drop

as soon as bitcoin looks too expensive, people start seeing bitcoin as some sort of arrogant cryptosect,

and the price drops, as will its popularity,

as soon as 12 000 USD are beeing reched again and people start speculating a price explosion again, bitcoin looks again arrogant for many and people will drop it

someone else expects the same?

regards

How would the price and speculation around it, can be termed as arrogance? Bitcoin is the pioneer in Cryptocurrency and that's why it is immensely popular around the world.

And the price fluctuation you are talking about is purely the nature of any speculative currency. Majority of the Cryptocurrency is priced as per the market demand and speculators play around the price to gain profit. Terming it as arrogance is probably your sheer ignorance about the market or wrong conceptualization. In either way, it makes no sense.

I also do not like the term arrogance used by OP here to describe those. Smiley  Its on support and resistance, and when a traders sees he has a margin of profit, they sell. For me its normal, your goal in trading is for profit, and when a trader his profit is enought then he can sell anytime. We need more holder for the price to go up and more good news too.
270  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Poloniex is bought by Circle on: February 26, 2018, 10:19:39 PM
Hopefully this can be a start of Poloniex returning to some of its former glory. Binance has completely overtaken the previous big 2 of bittrex and poloniex and they're now really quite inferior. New ownership could change this.

It's also good from the markets point of view as a bigger corporation is entering the cryptocurrency space. Expect to see more moves like this in the coming months and years.

I expect this too, with the change of ownership and management hopefully their customer service will improve. I have withdrawn also all my funds and leaving only less than a hundred dollar just in case for arbitration or If I am in mode to trade with their platform. I welcome this good news. Finally.
271  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Cryptocurrency education in high school on: February 25, 2018, 09:39:09 PM
I think it is a very good start for students to learn what is cryptocurrency from the teachers themselves. I would be fair if I got a chance like this but better late than never at least they are teaching it. The only thing I have got to know about computers is the meaning of word encryption so I guess everyone should have a deep understanding of the encryption and a practical example which can be cryptocurrency itself.

The early students learn  with cryptocurrency, the better in my opinion. High School is a good start to learn, since they have the idea and fresh mind to to cryptocurrency concept. In addition, high schools now are tech savvy and immersed with technology everyday. Its better to introduce them and incorporate in their subjects now.
272  Economy / Speculation / Re: Do you trust chart analysts? on: February 25, 2018, 09:24:45 PM
It has proven to me that no analysis works in cryptocurrencies. This market is different from other markets such as stock market.
Sometimes after a price is reached we see some people say that it has been predicted. But  note that. There are always many predictions. It is normal that one of them comes true by chance.
Analyzing a candlestick chart is a form of taking values that have occurred in the past to predict current and future trends. The data and charts are not wrong, only the analyst and the crypto market do not follow the chart only. I often do not have much confidence in chart analysis for investment but only to identify support and resistance points to place buy and sell orders.

I agree with you here. I do not trust chart analysis too much BUT is a good aid in making decisions. Sometimes the chart behave the way it was predicted and it means its manipulated or someone controls the trading. I always compared the chart analysis to other signals to validate it and even re validate it again and again since we cant rely on it 100%.
273  Other / Off-topic / Re: Technology and Human life..... on: February 25, 2018, 09:15:04 PM
Technology should aid human life. We need it in our daily chores, in everything we do as of now. It shortens  our job with ease and accuracy. But sometimes, technology becomes a burden and when we used to it, we become lazy and deteriorate.I think we need to balance this, and do not depend on technology always. We have to develop human capital too to appreciate and use technology efficiently.
274  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: KYC for ICO buyers and bounty hunters? Better KYC for ICO & Bounties issuers! on: February 25, 2018, 08:59:55 PM
Since ICOs are not regulated, I don't give my documents to any one. I don't know who will receive my documents .I don't know if they keep them and if they won't use my documents for something else.

This is the main issue here, security. We know that information and data are the new goldmine today and in the future. It is the new oil. With the huge data analytics and so forth, this is a big advantage to them. Some are buying data but for them its free, and the sad part they can get it through airdrop.  Huh
275  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Putin just endorsed Blockchain and Cryptocurrencies on: February 25, 2018, 08:46:19 PM
Russia is leading in blockchain technology because their government is very supportive. Several ICO's I see is from Russia or from country surrounding it. Since then, Russia is very affirmative about cryptocurrency, and Putin as a powerful person endorsing cryptocurrency is a good sign.
276  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Should I sell my Bitcoin Cash? on: February 25, 2018, 04:26:01 AM
Hi people. I have 0.31 right now, the value of Bitcoin Cash is not really looking good at the moment, if you were me would you sell or hold?
Thanks for any constructive opinion.
Better sell it before the value depreciate. Bitcoin Cash will never replace Bitcoin and the trust of community will remain with Bitcoin. Bitcoin Cash will become like other fork that become less value as the time passed by.

You have a point here, like me I am still loyal to bitcoin and  this fork are just like any altcoin in my opinion. You can sell half of your bitcoin cash and save the rest forever hopibg that some time in the future it will go up. I regret sime of my coins that lose its value  as time pass  on my experience. #realtalk
277  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How to distinguish between a real ICO and all the scam? on: February 23, 2018, 11:59:52 PM
So one of my inboxes gets plastered with ICO announcements which I always have considered scam and didn't even take a look.

Is it just to investigate here on the forum, or is there a trusted website that informs about legit ICOs and recommendations?

How do you even come to a decision in which ICOs you want to participate with the vast amount of new alt tokens that spring up like mushrooms all the time?
Before i put my investment into some random announcements, i always research on their whitepaper team and their idea that can or will be successful on disrupting something.

Reading a whitepaper is another way to know more about the said ICO, as long as they are detailed and more info to dig up. In addition you can make your own research and gather more sources to filter it. In that way, your selection process narrows and it can really help you to decide.
278  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Bounty Rewards: Sell immediately or HODL? on: February 23, 2018, 11:51:47 PM
I prefer to HODL it for two days or maybe a week but it may depend on the ICO there are some investor buy when the presale end also their are some sell it immediately but it your choice to choose
\\I prefer to hold too until it has no value like in some of my coins.  Cheesy

But yeah you have to be aware when to hold and sell. If it has a good project, then hold but if it seems like shady and devs is not active or the project is not that attractive, then sell. Also, sell if you need fiat or for emergency. You can sell too and park in more stable coin like bitcoin and ethereum and some other else.
279  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Envion Scam with locked tokens lasts tooo long on: February 23, 2018, 02:42:45 AM
I don't believe ENVION is a scam but in the other hand their team takes too long for releasing and distributing ENVION token for all bounty paricipants it's almost 2 months now since the campaign ended..

I think we need to wait here with Envion. I've been to several campaigns and invested in several ICO's and I know, it takes time for them to sort things out. As of now I am not paid with Exscudo LOL but they are still very active with development. As long as the devs are active on telegram, here in bitcointalk or in any medium, I think there is still hope.
280  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bitcoin destroyed? on: February 22, 2018, 05:08:52 AM
In my opinion, Bitcoin cannot be destroyed unless it will be sent to a wallet where no one can access the private keys similar to coin burn. Destroying bitcoins means an upsurge on bitcoin that is left, it will have  price spike since the small the supply, the higher the price. Even though it is totally ban by a country, there is still a way to use it underground as long  as there is internet. Its hard to  "destroy" it.
