261  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What have you got rid of to accumulate Bitcoin on: March 30, 2023, 07:17:15 PM
I'm doing it in an indirect way.

I'm not selling property so that I can turn that money into bitcoin but I'm selling some things from time to time so I don't have to sell my bitcoin and I can stack up my signature campaign profits. Without selling stuff I probably wouldn't be able to live comfortably, but I have so many unneeded things that I can keep on doing it for a long time. Most women do.

Truly one of the best ways to get more bitcoin is selling old stuff. Check if you have an old phone, or some clothes, maybe jewelry that you never wear, a watch. Sell it and get more bitcoin with the money. You'll get something for nothing and you'll feel much better, like getting 2 things done at one go.
262  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Reasons why I might consider selling my Bitcoin. on: March 30, 2023, 01:37:50 PM
Unfavorable government policies: If the government of my country decides to ban the holding or use of bitcoin, I might be forced to dispose of them. I will not want to be hiding from law enforcement agencies or risk being arrested. I don't wish this to happen but if it does, I will have to take that hard and painful decision.

If your government ever bans bitcoin completely, it will mean it wants to ban privacy.

If such thing happened in my country I'd be really worried that the government is turning into another China or North Korea, where they can take your property at any moment and you can be put in jail for not agreeing with them, the way people in Russia were being arrested for holding a Ukrainian flag or saying "no to war" in public.

Would you really prefer to sell your bitcoin and live in that country or move somewhere else and escape oppression?

More details on the lunatic UK gas proposals.
These people are unhinged and should be executed asap as far as I'm concerned.

Gas bills face £100 a year 'penalty' under government 'green drive' to encourage Brits to switch boilers - with homeowners who agree to have a wind turbine nearby in line for £350 reward
https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-11919001/Gas-bills-rise-100-electricity-costs-fall-government-green-drive.html

I already live near a wind turbine. If I don't agree with that it's there, are they going to knock it down and I have to pay £350?

Who comes up with this insanity? Who benefits from it?
Why is Europe so eager to throw itself off a cliff?

Meanwhile more coal power stations are firing up in China, Pakistan and elsewhere.
But in Europe we have energy suicide.

Exclusive: Pakistan plans to quadruple domestic coal-fired power, move away from gas
https://www.reuters.com/business/energy/pakistan-plans-quadruple-domestic-coal-fired-power-move-away-gas-2023-02-13/

While 2020 and 2021 were covid years where every single day they were scaring us with new restrictions, new rules, quarantine for this or that area, 2022 and 23 seem to be years of eco terrorism.
It's like they see the house falling on their heads and they don't know if they should bring in a car jack and try to support the ceiling or use the table and chairs to build a supporting structure, or scream out the window and hope someone will come with a solution.

15 minute cities, deciding what business has the right to use a lot of electricity, what business is productive enough to be allowed to use the grid, what can you eat, how much meat, how many cars can you own, when it will not be allowed to have a combustion car. It's like all these laws are made by idiots.

Now I hear they want to limit cash payments in the EU. Officially to limit cash payments, unofficially to prevent bank runs and be able to decide if what you're buying is good for you. They can always block a bank transfer but they can't stop you from doing cash transactions so the're limiting ATM withdrawals to a bare minimum of 300 - 500 EUR. There's also a new limit of 7000 EUR per cash payment and 1000 EUR for crypto payment. So now you can't even buy a more expensive home appliance with crypto. Big TV? Forget it.
264  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin mixing is NOT money laundering, per se on: March 29, 2023, 10:08:47 PM
The most correct answer is to avoid getting tracked, by whom?

Does it matter? By the people who want to watch me.

Why do people cover their bathroom windows when they wash themselves? They do that so people can't see them naked. Nobody cares what people are they going to be, but for the sake of the conversation let's say it's the government that I want to hide from.

Does it imply that I'm a criminal or a launderer?

I don't trust the government. I've seen people falsely accused and prosecuted and I want to stay as far away from my government as I can. I want to be as anonymous as I can, even if nobody ever decides to watch me. That's why we put good locks in our doors and have firewalls on our computers. We don't know if someone's coming for us, but we want to be ready.
265  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Did Laszlo Hanyecz see it as 10,000 BTC or as $41? on: March 29, 2023, 09:54:58 PM
He wanted to show that bitcoin can be spent and that's what mattered to him. I feel like it was all fun and they didn't know that bitcoin would once be worth more than a thousand dollars.

At that time people were dreaming about 1USD and many thought it to be an unbreakable level, a dream price. For bitcoiners back then $1 was like a million for us now.

I always envy people who are happy with what they have and if you give them a slice of pizza they won't complain that it could've been a 2 course meal.
266  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you feel bad while paying with BTC? on: March 28, 2023, 12:12:32 AM
Things are completely different now because Bitcoin have very large market cap comparable to the past when the guy bought pizza for Bitcoin, you can be sure that this will not happen again for you because Bitcoin price will not move the same way it moved from 2009 to now, so you must be comfortable while paying in btc in my opinion, nothing wrong with this

It can still grow 10x from here so I can understand people who feel bad spending bitcoin. There's nothing similar in fiat. Fiat money will lose value over time so if you spend your $ to buy a house and it doesn't burn down or get flooded, in 10 years you'll hold the same or greater value. If you spend bitcoin on that house you will hold much smaller value in 10 years as this will take 2 halvings. It's fairly impossible for bitcoin to be worth what it is today after two 4 year cycles.

I usually spend on essentials so I can always say that I really needed to buy this or that thing. My conscience is clear.

People should change their attitude towards crypto, that's for sure. Most new tokens are scam, especially ones created on ETH chain and you have to live with it.
I never fall victim of these scams because I tend to stay as far away as I can. People who get lured in are usually greedy, want to get something for nothing. They think they'll put in $100 into a new project and sell it for $1000 in a month because some celebrity youtuber did it. Get real people and you won't lose money on "shit game" tokens like this one.

I just feel like telling the house and those who accomplish not know the current price of bitcoin and how much it worth today,  but first I don't know where I should drop the thread and if the thread is not permitted to be here, please someone should help me move it.
It's not really worth much if we look at the last cycle in the years 2017-2019. It's not even worth half of its all time high, so we're at the levels bitcoin was in 2019 when we were recovering from the bottom towards 10 000.

The price of bitcoin already shown in the picture at the awning and I know at any time it will be higher than it is now or it will be lower than it is, but if the current price of Bitcoin eventually reduces never sell hold until you are satisfied with the price before selling.

That's true, don't get pressured into selling. Sell when you feel the price is right for you.

For, I am thinking of opening a business for my wife with the tangible profits I have made from Bitcoin, I would have dropped a picture of my electrum wallet balance but I will not because I don't think is either advisable to do so.

Your balance isn't going to impress anyone. There are people with a lot of coins and they aren't trying to show off. Also, note that you might feel like 1 btc is a lot of money if you live in Africa or India, but in the US nobody's going to give a damn.

Good News

$BTC just tested  last dip 27000$ and we can see a reversal from here and bitcoin
next stop at 29000$ in next few hours

I warned you guys about bitcoin dump and now it's happening, This will dump more like 26500$-25500$ to retest

You aren't consistent. A few hours ago you claimed that we'd pump to 29k, then it's dump to 25k...
So when you said that we'd pump, we were really going down (27600>27300) but when you said bitcoin will dump, it really pumped 27300 >27700
You're really good at this, almost as good as good as Tom Lee.

Couldn't find a map with the exact spot but I found it at the end of a TikTok video:
    https://www.tiktok.com/@michaela_lola/video/7166035761354001670

It's a little annoying to watch but here's a screen grab of the exact place:

 Jealous.

Here's a picture the same view from google made this month.

Someone had the same exact idea of a beautiful view.

Also, years later, it's time to dig up the same picture once again as deutsche bank is in trouble, just like in 2019.

I actually find limericks much harder. Not sure I can churn out one each week.

There once was a CEO named Sam
Whose business turned out to be scam
Poor man went to jail
Scored F for a fail
And so did the rest of his fam

Easier than haiku if you ask me

You got 10 merits for the same thing I said …. The man… and I got none…lol

I can't give you 10, but here's a consolation prize. Kiss
274  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin and Ponzi Schemes - People are confused. on: March 21, 2023, 12:12:56 AM
Apart from making a payment with bitcoin for the Ponzi scheme, some people have the mentality that bitcoin itself is a Ponzi scheme, they believed once you are dealing with it online it doesn't differ from it I laughed sometimes hearing something about this, and I do correct the notion about it to give more clarity to them

That's because they don't understand what a ponzi scheme is.

We're in a situation where people who don't know anything about bitcoin suddenly have an opinion but note that this is a normal thing. Most men act like they know how to fix a car and when they come to a mechanic they always talk like they know what's wrong and the mechanic gets annoyed.

When you're in a business for years you know that someone is boasting when they really have no clue. It's the same with us bitcoiners when someone talks shit in TV or writes a stupid article we get angry. Relax, it's normal. You just can't convince everybody.

Crossfit is for men,
Bitcoin is for men as well…
Guess what the dude is.

The Man…?

Third line…The Dude is the Man

Roses are red
Violets are blue
Bitcoin is for men
The dude is a man too
276  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: March 20, 2023, 10:34:07 PM
I somehow missed the above prediction and I'd say we aren't even going to the bearish 245k, here's why.
We could say the last bull market was low yield. It only took ups up from 20 to 70 and that's very weak compared to 2013 and 2017. If this continues or stays comparably low we'll reach close to 3x 70 in the next 2 years and reach 200-220k.

But may be the real top was 60k? 70 was reached with a much lower volume. If the real macro top was 60k that would put us below 200k at the next ATH.

There's even a worse scenario.
If the cycles are going to keep bringing less profit each time it would mean less than 3.5x this cycle. Maybe 2x this time and 1.5x next cycle, which would give us 140k by the end of next year and 200k 4 years later.
277  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: March 20, 2023, 10:17:01 PM
so whats up with this?

Some governments are acting like:
When we want to come to your house and watch you masturbate we can and if you try to shut the curtains on us you're going to jail. You and the curtain seller!
278  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: March 20, 2023, 05:54:49 PM
Found this image on Reddit, this really shows the thoughts of people who buy it when price has reached its at that moment highest potential.

Who says we're still in a bear market?
Tell me please, what's the difference between a bear market rally and a beginning of a bull market?
It's easy to say after the fact when the price keeps going down for months that it has to be a bear market and the same the other way round, after breaking the ATH everybody thinks it's bull market.

2020 can be a good example. We went to 10k - nah bear market rally like in 2019, 12k - nah it's going to be like in 2019, 13,5k - I better sell soon before it ends up like 2019, then it finally broke into 18k territory and everyone was like - take my money, it's bull market and we went straight from 19k to 41k.
279  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: March 20, 2023, 05:41:44 PM
What does $1 even buy these days? Maybe get a couple of carrots if you're lucky?

What about the famous (or infamous if you're a food purist or a vegan) Big Mac.
In 1970 you had to cough up just $0.46 to get one.
In the 80s, $1.60
In 2004, $2.90
In 2020 the price reached $4.95

Former coinbase CTO bet 2 million USD that bitcoin will hit 1 million in June. A very McAfee like bet, but at least it looks like he's really ready to put money on the line.

to me, it looks like a publicity stunt.
However, as someone else had posted on twitter...if btc rises 4% and he has 1000coins in total, then his bet is fully covered.
js

Or 4% per day for 90 days is 1MM per coin.

That's true.
Very similar to what Arthur Hayes did last week predicting 1 million.
There's also this Ryan Selkis who claims we'll go to 100k this year
https://twitter.com/twobitidiot/status/1636547059313516545?s=20

And on the other side of the spectrum we have Gareth Soloway who kept repeating his 10k bitcoin prediction last year.
The guy was interviewed 4 days ago when bitcoin was at 25k and again said that we're going to 12k this year...
Link below if anybody's interested.
