do you own any yet? if not post an address.

Thx, I've just recently bought a few on Poloniex after some friends showed me to this thread about XMR.  We were all part of a KNC mining Group Buy where the administrator ran away with our money, but I've picked up some amazing contacts in the process.  We are still communicating in a brand new Skype Group, mainly raving about XMR's potential.

I've added tip addresses into my footer now  Wink

your xmr address isnt working for me and i dont think its a problem on my end because i tried sending some back to myself and it worked fine.

If anyone still don't think Monero will become the next big coin, just read the news: https://archive.today/KKAZH
no one that considers his privacy seriously can trust bitcoin to be totally untraceable, monero is the future, its inevitable...

This behavior from the NSA and US gov will fuel the strive for liberty and private money will be the first tool to get us there.  Even if it only becomes a legacy left by us for our next generation, I believe we are now part of the beginning of something new and amazing.   Monero is making me very excited.  This tread is getting on my watch list and our Monero community will keep attracting more like minded free people.

On second thought. Botnet operators may not neccisarily dump this coin. It's the PERFECT medium of exchange for that sort of person. This will be the hacker coin. Maybe by making such a memory hard hashing function, we have inadvertently put it into the hands of exactly the people to whom it is most useful.

Suddenly, botnet owners realize this and the dumping stop.
XMR rise 300% in 24h

Put a message to them in the form of console output on startup in the next software update Tongue

why do people still favor Poloniex for trading Monero instead of Mintpal ? It's quite strange, what's wrong with Mintpal ?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Network_effect

this is why passing bytecoin will be so hugely bullish. i dont really care how far the price of monero falls in the short term, what want to see if monero as #1 cryptonote platform

Lol. Bytecoin is up again and will be even higher.

Monero can't be sustainable on the market as long as botnets owners are mining it and selling overnight. At least 50% of new XMR emission now goes to dumpers or hackers, whose business is very short term selling. Until something happens and real users finally get into the coin, MRO is doomed to be on the same low level. Huge price spikes are likely some mid-term investors buying in.

I don't see any support for the Monero rate to go up at the moment. That is why I divested from XMR a month ago when the botnet issue was discovered. It's better to wait a bit.

This is a very good argument. I suspect you are right. This is going to be THE coin for botnet operators and botnet operators are absolutely going to dump on the market right away.

However with that said, with each new block, the rate of inflation is less than the last. If you have 10 coins in circulation and you add 10 more its 100% inflation, when you add 10 more its 50% 10 more its 33% ect... So it is a problem that will correct its self with time.

Very interesting food for thought though. Thanks for the comment.

Who cares? I was not talking to you
This is not a private message, this is a public forum.
You are talking to everyone who bothers to read.

The official NXT forum is here:
https://nxtforum.org/

The moderated thread on BTT:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=587007.0
(this hardly ever gets censored, btw, we aren't getting all that much trolling these days.)

This thread, however, is very much a historical document......

Any idea why everyone stopped using it?

VOTE FOR BYTECOIN (BCN) TO BE ADDED ON HITBTC EXCHANGE!
https://hitbtc.com/vote

Do not forget that once you sign in to your Hitbtc account, your votes will be multiplied by 10.

Hm, seems like Monero is very high in the voting. Let's catch up with them!

or you could just, you know, come join the dark side.

Everyone notice how all the warmists have completely abandoned this thread? Too much reality for them I guess.
Since they are being accused of being liars any further discussion is kind of pointless.

I don't think we think they are liars. They are just gullible dupes who have been tricked into helping to further the agendas of powerful people.

The price is not a function of the diff.  The diff is a function of the price.

in general yes but it works both ways. a more difficult coin is a more secure coin. a more secure coin, all other things being equal, is a more valuable coin.

I tried to transfer some money from one wallet to another but the coins did never arrive.

Monerochain.info does not know the transaction hash.

How can i find out what really happened?

well as long as you control the wallet that you sent from and the wallet that you sent too than you still have your coins. somewhere. if its not on the blockchain than almost certainly its still on the wallet that you sent from. if worst comes to worst it will almost certainly be fixed by a fresh install.

I think that the Mega-Pump before the entrance to Mintpal was immoderate and unhealthy, The overwhelming majority of the coins that passing Pumps like this, not sourviving for long.
The Dev's team have to work very hard to restore the value of XMR, I really believe in the coin but I'm Pessimistic.

Pumpsters can do their thing with any coin they like. It says literally nothing about the value proposition of the coin its self.

I'm doing my bit for NXT education guys.

Its an open source platform. Anyone who doesnt like the specifics of our accounting can do their own accounting. In this way it doesnt really matter that much even if what you say is true. The nxt devs built something amazing, something that can never be uninvented and the world will be forever changed.
