help. I can not find CCminer. the links here are failing. Angry Undecided Cry
FOR ANYONE HAVING PROBLEMS WITH TERRIBLE HASH RATE USING THE SGMINER PROVIDED (and a Nvidia card), INSTEAD USE THIS VERSION OF CCMINER THAT IS COMPATIBLE WITH THE POLY ALGORITHM

my windows defender detected as trojan  Angry

It's a mining program so it will trigger almost every antivirus out there as a Bitcoin miner. In the past, there was malware programs that incorporated mining software to get people to mine coins for them involuntarily. I routinely have to whitelist mining programs in my antivirus. What kind of trojan is the Windows Defender stating that it is?

That BCH pump is rather a flabby one

I still have a few to get rid of, I'm sort of disapointed.

Too many people got burned when Bithumb went down at an inopportune time, last weekend. Even though wash trades can help with volume, you need to attract actual suckers to buy it up.

So I was at a happy hour and a couple of colleagues brought up the subject of Bitcoin out of the blue. It was all I could do to bite my tongue, none of them know I own any bitcoin and never will.

So one of them brings up the old, tired Peter Schiff argument of "Well at least Gold has intrinsic value. You can make jewelry out of it. Bitcoin has no intrinsic value."

So I look at him and casually say, "So you can make jewelry out of gold. Fair enough. So what then, gives jewelry value?"

That look on his face when his brain seemed to completely lock up for about a minute was priceless.

And then when his brain started processing again, of course comes the requisite reply, "Um, what do you mean? Because jewelry...has gold in it?"

People simply don't understand the philosophical basis for human's valuing anything. Everything is just taken for granted.

For the same purpose I use as example a Picasso's painting. It's just some dry paint on a board, total value $30, but it's worth millions. I like it because beside its price the number of picassos's painting is limited exactly like bitcoins, and the total capitalizations are alike.

You should have picked a less prolific painter for your analogy than Picasso. Once his painting became a cash cow for him, the quality of his work really went downhill.

Due to jgarzik’s inability to code his way out of a wet paper bag, I haven’t made a trade since dumping the last of my B2X shitcoins (which was very satisfying).  But I suspect that I am not the only one who has had their weekend plans disrupted.  I can only imagine what being said at ABC HQ.

That seems to be the latest FUD from the bears, that Bitfinex is creating funny money with USDT.

Latest? That allegation has been floating around for months. And rather than FUD, there seems to be quite a bit of evidence behind it. What with the promises of audits that never come, Bitfinex's hack loss leaving them insolvent and perhaps plucking 'money' out of thin air to capitalize itself, the terms of USDT, which essentially say 'if you own tether, you don't own doodly-squat'...

Um nice to remove my qualifying statement in order to improve your argument. Cheesy
I wouldn't put anything past Bitfinex. I haven't used them since the hack back in August 2016.

Sorry - didn't realize you would have considered it inseparable. Apologies.

Yes, I do happen to believe that something is definitely amiss when it comes to Finex. I just hope that when and if the house of cards falls down it isn't another MTGOX moment. Then again, accumulating more BTC for cheap could be another opportunity.

how many of you are secretly trading bch i wonder Tongue

should i be secretly trading bch? are these guys just giving away money? i wonder

If you think that in the end it's going to help you get more BTC by buying low and selling high, why not? Just be prepared that it may not work out in your favor. However, if you think Wu, Ver and friends are conspiring to do another weekend attack, go for it. Don't get left holding the bag..

We all saw this coming. Those of us that chose to do nothing about it are the real heros here.

If you're just in it for the money then fair enough try to make a profit trading BCH otherwise you're just contributing to the attack on Bitcoin.

Bitcoin is money. And I'm just a squirrel here trying to get a nut. Besides, I happen to believe that Bitcoin is indeed antifragile. These "attacks." Whatever. I'm more than pleased to help Wu, Ver and friends relieve themselves of their bitcoin.

BTX is not a forkcoin. Its blockchain is 400 Mb.

BTX only used btc blockchain to credit coins for airdrops.

btw, do Jihan and Ver only pump bch on fridays? something like a weekend hobby??
Dump btc, pump bch, rinse, repeat

It's strategy. Wire transfers are not processed on the weekends. So bulls cannot replenish their ammo, if needed. There is the USDT that some suggest isn't on the up and up though. May 2015. I'm still getting phising spam from time to time because of it.

to everyone complaining at low hash rates on your sgminer with your nvidia card, just read the last few pages of this thread, LOOK OUT FOR MY BIG RED TEXT in which I supply a link to a CCminer version that works well with my 1080ti, getting me 40mh/s

only problem i have now is I set my auto payout address to CCEX, and it's been a few hours and I'm not seeing it come in...

Is there going to be a wallet out soon, i feel like holding the coins in my suprnova would be safer.

The coin listed as Poly on CCEX is another coin, it is not this coin. If you sent your coins there, they are lost.
Well I'm holding in the pool now, what is the symbol of the ccex coin I need to set up a deposit address for?

Only mined for a night with one 1080ti so not much lost.  Thanks for the heads up

This coin is not listed on any exchange at the moment. If you do not want to keep your coins on Suprnova, you need to download a Wallet on your computer and send there. https://polytimos.net/ They only have GUI Wallets for Linux and Windows, though. If you have anything else, you will have to figure out how to compile the wallet yourself from source. https://github.com/polytimos/master-source

Where is the line of code in github that states when the POS begins? Is it really block 800,000?

Edit: Never mind. found it. Really is 800000. https://github.com/polytimos/master-source/blob/master/src/chainparams.cpp#L129

And refusal to open your eyes to the fact core bitcoin is basically unusable for sending due to high fees and insane delays ,
is why you are going to lose money.

I never get this argument. BTC is unusable because it being used to capacity. Don't you know that if it is Friday night, the restaurant that you want to go to is the one that is packed solid, not the one with an empty parking lot?  Cheesy

OK, let's go with this analogy. I get that the empirical evidence shows all is rosy in your restaurant (Let's call it Big Things'o'Chow). But that reflects current conditions before knowledge of an alternative spreads through out the community.

To add some fidelity to the situation, eaters have been largely enthused about Big Things-o-Chow (I'll shorten it to BTC for brevity) in the past. The quality of the food is good. They've been able to get prompt service at a good price. But that is the past. Lately, lines have been forming outside BTC, of people waiting to be served. This has happened in the past - at seating for 250, 500 and 750 in turn. At each of these previous junctures, the owners have responded by increasing the size of the restaurant and adding more seats. But not this time. No. 1000 seats, no more.

Indeed, the lines are getting longer and longer. Further, the prices to get in are going up. Seeing as they have a ready and eager clientele, the restaurant starts auctioning off places in line to get in. Prices in this auction climb and climb, and still more people come. It gets so bad that not only are you not guaranteed prompt service for any amount of money (you can always be later outbid), but people spend all night in line only to be turned away by closure for the night. They go to bed hungry after wasting their entire evening in line.

Well, sensing a market opportunity, another restaurant -- let's call 'em Big Chow House -- opens in roughly the same neighborhood, with roughly the same quality of food. The biggest difference is that the place accommodates 8000 people. No wait. No bidding to get in. Low prices. Like 1/2344 the cost*. Nobody goes to bed hungry after spending all night in line.

What do you think will happen over time, as knowledge of and experience with Big Chow House diffuses through the community?

*In this moment, I am quoting current stats from cashvscore.com.

Why on Earth would I want to eat in a warehouse with a capacity of 8000 people? Sound more like Casa Bonita then the Brown Palace.  Cheesy

How many coins you think I got? Diff retargeting is working fine, ive got a grand total of 10K coins and and a quarter of those came off these AMD threadripper beauties =) Sent.

BTW sib because first revision I just jumped into a file.  This is skein header 80bit, shabal, echo, luffa, fugue and gost.  Actually surprisingly is not quite close to anything.  Kinda close to veltor I guess? idk

Thanks you very much. I am very pleased that you released.  Smiley

<sigh> These new algorithm coins always work out the same. Those adept at creating a modified GPU miner end up raping the coin and then offering it for sale. Doesn't matter that BTC is 7000 USD. Still want at least 3 BTC for community release. That was the same price they demanded in 2015 when BTC was only $250 USD.   Cheesy Maybe we will have a nice guy, who will give us a discount.

PS: Don't PM me your offer. Although legendary, I'm still a minnow. Cryptocurrency is only a hobby for me. No deep wallets can be found by sending PM me.  Grin The most you could probably get me to spare is 0.1 BTC.  Tongue

What is likely to happen is someone who made a GPU miner will want some gawdawful amount like 3-5 BTC to release it. Can anyone point me to a guide to start learning how to program miners?  Cheesy

There is a bit of a learning curve to that. I have tried without success. But, with a bit of googling, surely something may come at you! Then maybe you can be the one who charges whatever they like for the miner, right? Anything is possible with a lot of effort.

I think it is fun to see what happens next. Don't you?

I've tried Goggling this several times since 2015 and have still not found anything that even gives me a clue. It's not like the step by step guides to make a clone coin.
