2601  Other / Meta / Re: Free Advertising, YES or NO on: August 15, 2020, 09:26:48 AM
As you know, signature campaigns have their own rules that you need to obey to apply for their campaigns. One of these rules is often:
Wear the avatar and signature when you apply! The campaign managers don't force the users to wear the sigs before they get accepted, but the rule is still there, and many users do.

For most of the time, all I do is update and would just change the signature once and only upon acceptance. The argument is simple.

If you answered no to free advertising, meaning you'd only change once you are part and accepted:
If you were a good poster, a helpful one to the community, and most of your activities isn't a burst post nor a short unnecessary one, then most campaign managers would often take you to join and be part of what campaign they manage. It isn't about when to put such requirement, sometimes you must put your shoes higher if you are a great user in the community. You promote them, you are the influencer, you are to be part of the campaign. Take it as they only pay you by advertising them.

If you answered yes to free advertising, meaning you'd change even you aren't part nor accepted:
If you were just being active and having some quality communication with other users here in the forum, it would be fine to just put any campaign's signature. What would you gonna do if you were vacant for a long time and having a hard time being accepted by the managers? Then just be a good poster, a good user, then soon time will come to you.

Hence, what's the point of having a doubt when to change your signature nor avatar? For me, neither yes or a no. It doesn't matter. Campaigns were just perks. I kept in mind the ideology of "good quality posts matter"... patience, then the light would soon shine upon you.
2602  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Add bitcoin as a payment method on: August 15, 2020, 06:50:08 AM
Maybe you can use bitpay as a means of bitcoin payment on your website. besides that, bitpay also supports many platforms such as wordpress and other platforms.

More information is available at https://support.bitpay.com/hc/en-us/articles/115003003703-How-can-I-add-bitcoin-and-other-cryptocurrencies-as-a-payment-option-on-my-website-

Lol are you trying to promote some faulty wallet to his project or his company? Bitpay had a lot of issues recently and suggesting it wouldn't be nice.

If you were just a small business with one at a time transaction, you can still use a simple wallet and receive payment through either QR code or Bitcoin Address. Some services here uses such mode of payment but if your website would be like an e-commerce app, better study blockchain and how it works then proceed to building a code that could link with the matter.
2603  Economy / Gambling / Re: BADCOGAMING.COM - Odds Comparison Website for Soccer and MMA / UFC on: August 14, 2020, 01:08:07 AM
~

With a lot of negative comments in your thread especially with the UI and UX of the website you promote, better consider taking every posts as a recommendation to improve you and your platform. Also, I would like to recommend that you would make an API that connects to your data (preferably the median calculation of most famous odds platforms which many had wished you consider adding) then make a widget on smartphones that connects to that API. You need to make an app ofcourse but it wouldn't be that hard if you only focused in having a widget and internet connection permissions. After making an app, you need to run in three phases: Alpha Test, Beta Test, then the official release.
2604  Economy / Gambling / Re: FrostBets.com launching soon on: August 13, 2020, 05:56:16 AM

Excited to show you all Crash on https://www.frostbets.com/ very soon!

Would you make your ANN thread much pleasing? Also, the website looks kinda off with what you really want to showcase. If you were a betting site, better use most of the gambling platforms out there as an inspiration to create your own that fits onto your purpose, theme, and like. But if you really wanted to be successful, better hire professionals or even just simply good at designing both threads and website, and act as if you really were a huge company to be trusted (trust is a big word and is being earned).

Btw, Send me a PM if you wanted to make a good ANN thread and a pleasing website! Thanks!

2606  Other / Beginners & Help / [LEARN] BBCODE Shorthand listing, naming code and colors, and table generating on: August 12, 2020, 06:40:09 AM
Hello guys! I've been experimenting lately with the Forum's BBCodes. And while quoting most of the topics I've been replying, I noticed that most use too many bbcodes to show something that is just short. I know there are a lot of BBCode guide in the forum yet this is a tip that focuses on posts and how to use bbcode with less work, shorthand, and have same results. I know some would say that this is just a duplicate of most, yet I still even find only less users do the following. Hope you like it!!  Grin

Note: if you'd notice, some bbcode are in normal form without using the code tag, I just used [nobbc]{value}[/nobbc] tags to show it by default bbcode.

Table of contents:

LIST FORMATTING
I've noticed that many still uses closing tags in list items such as [li]ITEM1[/li] in their posts. And having many items and closing it manually takes both the user's time and character in a post. Meanwhile, you'll notice I used [*] in the start of each item on the list as it would only output the same (using other options than asterisk will result to error).

Code name and code colors using PHP tag
Have you know that you can post programming codes here without formatting colors? I know some often uses the code tag, but do you know it can have some name to it?

____________________
____________________
CODE NAME
CODE COLOR WITH PHP TAG
In naming Code Tags, simply use [code={any name you want}]{value}[/code] to insert a name with it.

Example:
[code=java]
class Simple{
    public static void main(String args[]){
     System.out.println("Hello Java");
    }
}
[/code]

Output:
Code: (java)
class Simple{
    public static void main(String args[]){
     System.out.println("Hello Java");
    }
}
If you would post some codes and wanted to have colors with it, simply use [php]{any code here}[/php] to have it colored automatically (note that it wasn't fairly colored based on what language you'll insert in those tags)

Example:
[php]
class Simple{
    public static void main(String args[]){
     System.out.println("Hello Java");
    }
}
[/php]

Output:
class Simple{
    public static
void main(String args[]){

System.out.println("Hello Java");
    }
}

Useful websites for bbcode

I know a lot had struggles manually making tables, but do you know that there is a table to bbcode generator?

Simply use www.theenemy.dk/table/ and simply paste your table there.

Aug. 15. Edit: This wouldn't work if you would have bbcode in your cells or you have multiple lines in a single cell as it would read per line with your data pasted as raw text.

Here is the following instructions:

____________________________________________________
COPY YOUR EXCEL CELLS TO CONVERT IN BBCODE THEN GO TO THE WEBSITE
SIMPLY PASTE (CTRL+V) TO THE CORRESPONDING BOX
CHOOSE ANY OPTIONS YOU LIKE THEN CLICK GENERATE BUTTON

2607  Other / Meta / Re: Opening Mutiple Ann Threads - Allowed? on: August 11, 2020, 05:08:50 AM

So I just want to know
- Whether one can open duplicate/multiple ANN threads for the same Projects?
- Should we extent the bump system to Altcoin Dicussion board?

I think changes must be done in alt announcement board. I mean one announcement must be enough, and the updates must only be placed in the main announcement thread. Despite other offering that must be announced, still, using url linking, and/or iurl and anchor must be the best way to prevent multiple announcement on multiple boards. If ever they would create bunch of users to make threads, the website/platform they promote must have one and only announcement thread. Right?

2609  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why only Bitvest and 777Coin on: August 08, 2020, 06:33:30 AM
Let's just be real and accept the fact that Bitvest and 777Coin were both managed well by its campaign managers and their companies as well. And with that being said, they were also the ones whom are, AFAIK, the lowest payment rate among all signature campaigns that run in the forum (with bitcoin or usd as the mode of payment ofc).
With that, most users in here whom wanted a long term campaign often join BItvest and 777coin, while some prefer to join it just because some high-paying campaigns doesn't accept them, with whatever reason it could be.

Hence, it would be normal to have many participants with the fact that you pay low, and with such low payment do also have a balanced money to make the campaign run in the long-term.
2610  Economy / Gambling / Re: Casinos Withdrawal Fees Rise | August 2020 on: August 08, 2020, 02:27:22 AM
Usually I move in Bitcoin, ETH, thanks for that information, sometimes I use it but not all casinos offer the possibility of depositing in bitcoin and withdrawing in another altcoin, but by the way since you mention it is the alternative, but what As usual, in that casino where you can swap, I only play Chinese Poker.

There are casinos where you can deposit in Bitcoin and withdraw in ETH, USDT, and token, even without commission. But the point is the casinos that do not have this alternative coincidentally are the ones that increase their commissions the most.

Just simply use altcoins to prevent huge Bitcoin withdrawal fee. With the popularity and huge volume of bitcoin in the market, it would also be a reason for most gambling platforms online to make profit out of it. Also, the BTC fee would always depend on its price, mostly taken of by percentage. And, even gambling platforms do require their own escrow/wallet to send simultaneous withdrawals, such wallets do also require their part of the transaction fees, making higher fees on the platforms.

And those casinos that accepts tokens without commission often had a bad image. Why? Such platforms that redirects to your MEW or any wallet you had are too risky and not a good practice to make. Better find platforms that supports ETH, DOGE, and XRP, in which such altcoins doesn't have any issues with the price fees, but still the games and bets would be the same.
2611  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Google Advertises Uniswap Phishing Scams on: August 06, 2020, 12:55:08 PM
Google searches recently displayed results and ads for at least three phishing schemes masquerading as the Uniswap decentralized exchange.

BeinCrypto Russia discovered that the world’s most popular search engine was showing results for (and even advertising) scams pretending to be the Uniswap platform.

Earlier today, searching for ‘Uniswap’ in Google resulted in ads for fake sites with the following domains:
Code:
uniswap.com, uniswapdex.org, and unsiwap.site.

Any companies, websites, and even facebook pages that can be searched through google can have themselves be the first page to pop-up in search results as an advertisement. Hence, it wasn't justified as Google advertising such scams, they are paid to do it, and it is the client's privacy rights not to be checked by google in its validity and legitimacy.

Also, Better post this on Scam Accusation Board to gain more support in reporting. thanks! Reporting it now..
2612  Other / Meta / Re: [Request] Stats on: August 06, 2020, 08:57:19 AM
Would you help me? I've been coding and trying to figure out ways to scrape all comments in all threads yet I keep encountering bugs with my code (python).
I did scrape all posts already (but didn't keep track of the board), so it would be a waste of forum bandwidth to do it again. I know nothing about Python though.
What are you trying to accomplish?

Imagine all threads in Pilipinas section (which I'll try to test as I am from PH), I'll try to scrape each and every comments in each threads posted into it, but all I will extract is all the usernames and their links, meaning that I could enlist all users that are filipino here in the forum as they posted once in a thread located in our local board. Then Ill try to do the same on other local boards and compare the stats to how many users are from this and that country and which country has the most users here. Though it wouldn't be a 100% accurate, but it would still be a data to consider.
2613  Other / Meta / Re: [Request] Stats on: August 06, 2020, 07:58:25 AM
A wider view, the forum used to be more actively in the past, late of 2017 and early of 2018, but now we have a very better forum (less spam, higher quality).

I think the merit implementation causes that. Back then the forum was bombarded with a lot of newbie like there's no day nor an hour that there wasn't an account made in the forum. But then now, making a lot of accounts would be useless as spam posters could easily be detected by other active members, and as merits are required to gain reputation as well as it shows a proof that you're a good member of the community.

by simply going to a local board and scrape every comments in every thread and in every page (this is really hard). I hope I could patent this idea
Actually, it's quite easy Cheesy Getting all topics on a board is something I did in January last year, and once you have all topicIDs, you can scrape all topics (which takes some time).

Would you help me? I've been coding and trying to figure out ways to scrape all comments in all threads yet I keep encountering bugs with my code (python). I hope to make a thread with such data soon and might use the code to of course scrap all local boards. But I'm also trying some other apps such as octoparse but had issues with the chronological order of tasks I want to gain..
2614  Other / Meta / Re: [Request] Stats on: August 06, 2020, 05:33:32 AM
Also would like to request (I think this is a hard one) the total logs per Country (listed on our Local Sections) - SimilarWeb doesn't allow me for I don't have Premium Account

I've been working on this for almost a month but first I'm trying to scrape users based from different countries by their local board posts, by simply going to a local board and scrape every comments in every thread and in every page (this is really hard). I hope I could patent this idea so my work and time spent studying scraping wouldn't be wasted. After that, I think it would be easy if I had stats with the links of local users and simply scrape when they are active (but would take me another month studying another prog language I guess).

I've also planning to make a thread saying I'm working on it but some might steal the idea.
2615  Economy / Services / Re: Roobet.com | Art Contest - $5000 Prizepool up for grabs! Ends August 31st on: August 06, 2020, 01:23:49 AM
Let them be part of it again mate. I mean, it's a challenge. Wouldn't you think? Come on, it's just a contest.

Haven't said that they must not be part of it. I said "would there be rules" lol. Because I saw there's a lot of great artworks yet it depends on the preference of the roobet team. No hate on winners tbh. It's just natural to have an idea that contests do also consider giving opportunity to others.

Exactly, let’s just accept the fact that they need a great job on previous contest and now it will be a big challenge for us to do better this time. Let’s start working now! Smiley

I'm planning to join but I don't know if I would satisfy myself with my art lol Cheesy
2616  Economy / Services / Re: Roobet.com | Art Contest - $5000 Prizepool up for grabs! Ends August 31st on: August 05, 2020, 11:19:51 PM
Same as last time around - judges will judge based on their own taste and preference Smiley

But how about those whom already won on the last contest? Would there be rules on such? I mean they already won and their skills would win again this time.
2617  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Protect Your Account on: August 05, 2020, 09:47:47 AM
**Also posted in Meta but sharing here too. Even if it helps one person it’s worth it**

How exactly was he hacked? Even I myself shows publicly my email address, yet encountered no issues of hacking nor anything so far. Maybe he had entered it in a website where they had data breach, or his password wasn't that kinda strong. There can be alot of prevention that can be done by BitcoinGirl.Club in his ends.

I guess this kind of thread and other thread that are helpful and must be pinned here in Beginners and Help board. Suggesting such actions isn't that kind of helpful if and only if the other newbies preferred nor haven't read issues with regards to hacking accounts even from a simple email. With regards to that, I also see the following as a good suggestion to the forum itself:

Limiting the Newbie's capability to reply on certain thread. How? They could only see pinned posts for approximately 3 to 5 days (depending on the forum management) upon their registration. Hence, all of necessary rules, regulations, and reminders would and must be read by the newbies before they can have the rights to reply on threads.
  • ADVANTAGE/s: issues with regards to users (even older ones), that they either plagiarize, spam, burstpost, necro-bump, and any other violations that they aren't aware of, would be lessen. Chances of such prohibited activities might be eradicated once the rule would be implemented. Hence, any other issues such as the hacking matter indicated by the OP would be avoided. This would also make build a better community as this forum grows around the world.
  • DISADVANTAGE/s: They need to spend days before making use of their account, and I think there's nothing more, nothing less.

Some might find this an awful suggestion, but with increasing cases of spamming, burst-posting, scamming, necro-bumping, and any other prohibited actions, then I guess we must start from the basics, by reading necessary threads such as rules and regulations and reminders for a safer account and environment.

If requested to transfer this to meta as another thread, I would be delighted to do so.
2618  Other / Meta / Re: Is this considered a death threat? on: August 05, 2020, 05:38:42 AM
I don't know if this should be considered as a serious death threat, it seems more like shit talking because of dislike towards the other person. So don't take it too seriously, unless he goes on ahead and tells you "I am gonna kill you" or something that actually implies a serious death threat. This given very little context, feels more like a person being butthurt and saying : "why u posting in my thread, oh no guy with trust rating gonna give me neg trust, i am gonna swear goats at u fuck u fuck ur mom fuck dick u big gay".

And if you don't like interacting with this user, ignore and move on. Some trolls aren't worth the sweat.

Indeed. I guess it is better to leave such argument when you already know it leads to nothing. If the accused user was just pissed off with GazetaBitcoin, I think it's just natural to post his emotions, as we are born with different mental and emotional capabilities with different level of patience. But the argument and issue here is simple (as already answered by Rizzrack,

- He opened a thread where he offered translations (it was badly written and was very vague. Most might have understood he needed translation)
- You offered him your translation service which he took as thread hijacking (and legend has it that you are still translating his word to this day)
As for some reason he chooses to speak english English on a romanian Romanian board i'll I'll just say that I make the translation understandable, i I don't either have nor want all that stupid gramatical idiocracy idiocy (n.b. for this context, the correct term is idiocy, but the caveman doesn't know what idiocracy means) as there's someone else to bother with that. Ofcourse Of course, any translation would be written without grammatical mistakes and a corrector will be used on top."
- he got upset and started cursing very bad
- you then called him out for his broken Romanian
- some more swearing, some more translations, some more cursing...
- you then called him out for his broken English
- some more swearing, some more translations, some more cursing...

Hence, IMO, GazetaBitcoin was just a perfectionist writer, but took things too seriously when he had a feedback from his posts. Thus, even you had your fluency in both languages, that doesn't justify your patience and maturity. Doesn't mean that he said to burn you then you would accuse it as a death threat, not unless he knows where you are nor had any contact with you threatening you in a much fearful way.

You cannot extinguish fire with another fire, even a spark can help it.
2619  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Anti AntiVirus Bitcoin Core on: August 05, 2020, 02:38:16 AM
1. Mining functionally removed from Bitcoin long time ago
2. Bitcoin Core is open-source software

Then I guess that nowadays, most anti-virus software doesn't include Bitcoin core and anything related to cryptocurrency to their whitelist, maybe due to some factors such as it can be used by some who would make their own code with it's system to have a suspicious script injected onto it, and also there are a lot of opportunities for the hackers to use anything crypto-related such as wallets to gain access to their targets.

Though it was an open-source software, it's also a vulnerability as scripts can be easily added to such programs and they might make their own torrent server to be downloaded out of it. But still, a lot of AVs still hasn't whitelisted each and every programs made and updated everyday, and even some AVs is just a fraud making their own viruses and a version of past detected viruses.
2620  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Anti AntiVirus Bitcoin Core on: August 04, 2020, 10:41:55 AM
Recently we decided to ship Bitcoin Core with Wasabi Wallet. However this resulted in an unpleasant surprise, where numerous anti-virus companies started flagging Wasabi due to Bitcoin Core is being flagged too.

AFAIK BitcoinCore was flagged due to the fact that some applications uses some computer's graphic cards for mining, such as the issue of LoL back then where someone detected a mining code running in background of League of Legends. Hence, anti-virus blocks any applications that has something to do with mining cryptocurrency even the BitcoinCore itself.

I'm not that tech savvy but I only see such possibility in this case. But what operating system are you using? If that would be Windows distros, then it is not that kind of unusual case as its pre-installed Windows Defender flags anything suspicious as virus, as long as it wasn't their product or an open-source product.
