1641  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling using chip in money? on: March 09, 2023, 07:39:43 PM
Pretty sure they're doing this for content, and are getting the money back one way or another. But in real life using other people's money to fuel your entertainment or gambling addiction is just a big no-no for me. Adin could get away with it coz he's an influencer who earns money by portraying the role of a jackass, courtesy of no other than Andrew "Chinless" Tate. But turn the situation around, and make Adin Ross a regular joe with no following and no acclaim and you'll realize how fucked what he's doing. To each his own at the end of the day, but you can never catch me doing something that stupid, moreso with a trusted friend's money. And the fact that he's not letting the people who he took the money to gamble with choose what they wanna do with their own money? Shit's weird man.
1642  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you know any telegram group where a lot of gamblers meet? on: March 07, 2023, 08:44:46 PM
Telegram's a melting pot of every thing you can talk about under the sun. Finding a community that you're interested in is as easy as searching for the topic on the search bar. I've been to a few gambling discussion channels and group chats in Telegram in the past, not the best idea coz most of them are really just sharing referral codes which I think is great as it helps with their journey but at the same time you'd get sick of it, especially if you have a serious inquiry you want resolved and all the people ever sent was a hyperlink that includes their referral code. In any case I don't discriminate, if that's your thing then just go over Telegram and search gambling in the search bar, there's a lot of public channel out there that you can be a part of. Be active enough and you may get a pass to get to their private channels.
1643  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: where the losed money goes? on: March 07, 2023, 08:04:16 PM
That has been the case since time immemorial, that's why casinos are a great business model if you wanna scam people out of their money but would also want to be absolved of the crime thereof by legalizing your business. Casinos heavily profit from the losses of people, be it live or online casino. And due to the fact that there are only few winners every time, this means that almost all of the losses incurred by all the players in their business automatically goes to their pockets. This is literally the reason why there's a saying "the house always wins". If the house loses money from a massive win, they can easily recuperate these losses without even trying because someone somewhere out there's hapless enough to tank the biggest loss of his life as well.
1644  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can Gambling earn someone a living on: March 06, 2023, 07:59:55 PM
Yes and No.

You can earn a living from gambling two ways: Either be fucking good at it, or be lucky enough to bag a huge win. If you're looking for consistency choose the former, if you're looking for less effort the latter would work better for you.

For example, professional poker players, especially the ones you see on livestream TV or maybe even on streaming platforms get paid just to show up, and then they can play which would earn them more money in the process. If you're not into that there's your local casino. Study their kinks, the ins and outs of the games you play, everything there is to know about it really. Soon as you find it out, grab the opportunity and bag wins.

There's also the no effort path in which you can pay for all the scratch it tickets and join lotteries in your vicinity and hope that RNGsus choose you as the guy he will annoint with a million dollars that day. Less chance of winning, but also less effort taken.

Ultimately, I'm not gonna be the guy to tell you to not gamble for profit even though I think it's stupid and counterproductive.
1645  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin ATM firm allegedly profited from crypto scams via unlicensed kiosks on: March 06, 2023, 07:06:50 PM
Only thing I really see to be fishy in this case is the unlicensed nature of these kiosks. Mind you, a lot of ATMs and banks have been involved with scams in the past as well, but they got away with it scot-free because they have operational licenses that allow them to at least be absolved from the crime. In any case, I don't think this is a massive blow to the cryptocurrency community if that's a problem you're looking for. Plus, I don't really see the appeal of these kiosks, and I never saw anyone ever use a bitcoin ATM in the past. It's also a bit convoluting to think that a government sector was sure about pressing fraud charges against an ATM company without prior evidence being present. If they're able to present proof that these ATMs are indeed being used to defraud people who are none the wiser when it comes to crypto, which I should say, is a whole level of stupidity, then I might just believe the company should accept the fraud charges.
1646  Economy / Economics / Re: Planning avoids unnecessary expenses on: March 05, 2023, 07:34:16 PM
Is good to plan, don't live your life on a plata of Gold. The first time I had bulk money was during my higher institution days, as a student we know and hear too many things but only few chose to do something, opportunity of MMM, crypto currency and Achievers forum sorry mentioning them here came to me in school and I grasps it and as God may have it, I make a lot of money but the first thing that came to my mind was to buy car, I bought two cars, place one as a taxi and one private use as school big boy but non of this happen to play out well.

The Taxi cab had an accident and piece in bits and I sold it out auction price, same thing happen to the one I was using in school and it was a tragedy scenes, it was sold as Scrabs. I used the remaining money to live extravagant lifestyles, going out with friends, carrying girls to where we can't ordinarily afford bills, buying wears we don't need, gadgets and accessories we don't match our income or status but all this turn out against me. I lost almost everything, for two years after my school I could afford a dime, no job, no source income, I have nothing in my bitcoin wallets, life balls back to zero level.

Today I can boastfully said this not to impress you or give you a plan but is good to plan your life, know what you want per time, avoid impulse buying, avoid competition, avoid extravagant lifestyle, have a routine, draw your scale of preference, learn forgone alternative principles. Life on earth is short if you can't get it right, and life is hell if you're not living it right.
I'm a spendthrift, so I always go beyond my monthly budget, and sometimes borrow from my investments which I repay the moment I get my money back anyways. So this goes to show that not only do you have to have a plan, you gotta follow it through as well because plans are just a rule for you to follow, and some rules could be broken. With that being said, it's inherently great to always plan your expenses as that is the first step towards effectively knowing how to budget, because at least now you where your money is coming from and where it's going to. Ultimately, the journey towards being financially literate in practice is a little arduous so the dedication is necessary to pull through.
1647  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Caution Newbies Bitcoin is BTC on: March 05, 2023, 07:01:47 PM
I think the main point is to misdirect the people and I know this type of abuse caters towards a certain type of audience and investor but this is just too funny. Imagine being fucked over by a letter exchanged and then switched out. You're basically phished by the project founders at that point. Then again, OP is right, newbies should always be wary not only of how they navigate across the internet but with whatever they put their money into as well. In cases like BFICoin there's the possibility you may mistake it for bitcoin or a different coin for a different bluechip crypto. Just proper awareness, knowledge, and common sense to avoid becoming a victim of things like these. Still though, if BFIcoin isn't a rugpull project I think the peeps who mistook it for bitcoin could still cash in on some profit after all.
1648  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Education is the key but knowledge is padlock on: March 04, 2023, 11:48:10 PM
So your friend opened a wallet for you and therefore knew about your private keys?  My question now is: would you trust yourself to share your bank account passwords with some friends?  Obviously not.  Bitcoin is even better than a bank account because no trader can ever associate your name with the account let alone know your passwords.
Exactly, but then this guy's none the wiser years ago (I presume) and is directly and blatantly exploited by his so-called friend in exchange for a few bucks. In any case, I hope this becomes a lesson to OP that no person in this industry is truly trustworthy and you have to always be on the lookout regardless of how trusted the person you are transacting with. And NEVER EVER SHARE YOUR PRIVATE KEYS. They are called private for a reason. You don't share it with anyone, not even your spouse or whoever the fuck you hold dear to your heart. You keep your money to yourself and you keep your investments that way. Also, be careful with clicking links on the internet, every link nowadays from a dubious site is an invitation to getting your wallet drained nowadays.
1649  Economy / Economics / Re: U.S. Lawmakers Reintroduce Bill to Force Crypto Miners to Disclose Emissions on: March 04, 2023, 11:10:13 PM
A little paradoxical how they keep attacking crypto miner's usage of electricity and how "environmentally-detrimental" and such and such it is but are also eager to legislate the sale of Alaska to drill hundred million barrels worth of oil. I think a paradigm shift in the country's higher laws should be made, because as it stands today the whole country is going to be a laughingstock against the rising powers in the orient. Hong Kong, China, hell even Japan is showing signs of dominance against the once "greatest country in the world". I feel like I'm going off to a tangent here but my point is that maybe they should stop throwing shit at bitcoin, and miners when they're smeared with caca themselves.
1650  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: America Wants to buy Bitcoin 20% adults own it, while 29% willing to buy! on: March 04, 2023, 10:31:35 PM
I am assuming the study was done based on ratio system where they took some number of participants and then factored it to give proper estimates. I am really not sure if we should believe these numbers or not but the study is really positive about Americans loving the Bitcoin.

The number of participants in the group were around 2,202 and study conducted based on the weightage of various factors of US based age group, education system, region etc.

Now this study translated the numbers to approximately 52.3 million Americans adult owning crypto while 75.5 million Americans are willing to buy the crypto in next 12 months.

I not sure if such study is viable or not but going further they also stated that overall 76% people from the American Soil think that Crypto and Blockchain is the future. Considering the fact that they already think current financial system need major changes and also upgrades, they would prefer crypto as their next big thing.

Quote
A national survey commissioned by Coinbase suggests that about 20% of U.S. adults currently own crypto. In addition, 29% of U.S. adults plan to buy or trade crypto in the next 12 months. “The vast majority of Americans want to see the financial system updated and they believe crypto can be a powerful part of the solution,” Coinbase said.

Crypto Survey Commissioned by Coinbase
A nationwide survey of 2,202 participants from the general population was conducted by Morning Consult from Feb. 10-14. “The data were weighted to be representative of U.S. adults based on age, race/ethnicity, gender, educational attainment, and region,” the market research firm described. “The purpose of this study was to examine perceptions of the global financial system and how U.S. adults and cryptocurrency investors view the future of the crypto market and exchanges.”

Citing the survey results, the Nasdaq-listed cryptocurrency exchange Coinbase, which commissioned the study, commented:

The vast majority of Americans want to see the financial system updated and they believe crypto can be a powerful part of the solution.

Noting that “80% of Americans think the global financial system unfairly favors powerful interests” and “67% of Americans agree that the financial system needs major changes or a complete overhaul,” Coinbase wrote:

The survey found that 80% of respondents believe the current financial system is unfair, with the overwhelming majority expressing frustration with the current financial system and a hunger for change.

The crypto exchange added that the survey further “indicates that most Americans remain optimistic about the future of crypto and understand its potential to be part of the solution to bring about meaningful change to the financial system that would benefit society as a whole.”

Coinbase Survey: 20% of US Adults Currently Own Crypto

If I'm not mistaken America stands today as the de facto leading country in blockchain and cryptocurrency adoption, so it comes to no surprise that when such survey was made a lot of people are into the idea of owning bitcoins, because that's where everything starts, wanting to own a couple bitcoins/crypto. Although I think a couple of factors make this research a little less reliable. In any case, still great to think that America hasn't changed its mind since time immemorial in the early days of bitcoin when you can pay pizza and albums with bitcoins.
This isn't something new op. Almost every crypto investor is aware of this fact since ages frankly speaking. One of the best things about Americans is their willingness to try new things in a creative manner.

They love tech which is why they established good relations with countries like Japan etc despite all the bad history between them. This is why many of them truly believe that Satoshi is Japanese.

However, I don't like how their government is trying to regulate and control every aspect of the crypto world.
Exactly. I'm not sure if it's the capitalist in them, but the fact remains that bitcoin is well-received in the country despite US government's efforts to paint it in a bad light, not that bitcoin doesn't come with its own flaws.
1651  Economy / Economics / Re: Methods to cut food costs on: March 04, 2023, 09:52:44 PM
As much as I see the well-meaning nature of this post, especially nowadays coz everything is very expensive. I seriously discourage haggling yourself on food, or if it can't really be helped, you can look into cultivating your own food, it's way cheaper and much healthier in my opinion. You should never cut costs on anything that you put in your body, especially food, coz whatever you eat affects everything in your life for that day. Less nutrients mean less performance in whatever you do, and will make you just more depressed especially if you find yourself eating ramen packets for the third day in a row. Just focus on cutting costs on everything else, take the bus ride home instead of booking an uber, look for a roommate to bedspace with you and share the rent, all that stuff.
1652  Economy / Economics / Re: Is Bitcoin Disrupting our Financial Landscape? on: March 04, 2023, 08:54:08 PM
It is a financial disruptor when it is looked upon as a form of money, but as it stands today people see bitcoin and any cryptocurrency for that matter, sometimes even stablecoins as a form of investment that will give them more money. Great examples for this is the fact that most people out there don't and can't use bitcoin as a payment method for products and service that they avail on a daily basis. There's also the fact that it's only ever used a way to get away with paying large fees for overseas transactions and remittances.

Until we see bitcoin as a form of money, and not just a financial steppingstone, it is only going to be financially disrupting in a sense that if you invest in it, it's either you win or you lose all your holdings.
1653  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Nonito Donaire vs Alejandro Santiago for WBC bantamweight title on: March 03, 2023, 09:51:33 PM
He can definitely pull the trigger mate, he has fought in the last 2 years or so, it just that when he fight Inoue, he hit that wall.

Nevertheless he can still fight and his left hook is still very deadly and could lay everyone on the floor because it has power behind. But he might be cautious though, I mean it could be just case to case basis, and so in this one this is for the championship belt so it's very difficult to turn this opportunity again. So if he wins then he goes and fight again, if he losses turn him and Rachel Donaire will have to sit down and talk what will be their next move.

And he remains active while approaching the veteran age. It means his body didn't rest for long and was still able to keep up with Donaire's will.

Adding also to that, Donaire keeps doing training even prior to this fight that is mandated by the WBC.

Donaire also experienced already a tough wall on the bantamweight, Naoya Inoue. That's the best experienced he got against Alejandro Santiago.
Donaire could be considered everyone's personal favorite at this point. And in all honesty I would really wish for him to carry om boxing for as long as he likes, but there comes a time when one should call it quits lest they risk their retirement life being like Ali's, especially in contact sports like boxing. Altogether I'm pretty sure he'll put his A-game in this fight as always. He always does. But at some point he would need to hang the gloves for good. This fight, if it ends in a win, could be it.
1654  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Online Casinos lack slot clubs; comps, is it hard to achieve? on: March 03, 2023, 08:57:32 PM
Online version of all gambling games are my favourite.Because in online we don’t know what happened next, but if the nearer person is friend on offline game. The winning of the game will surely favour yourself. If the players work against one certain player in the offline card game, the winning is partial one in offline game. But the win of the game is based on the pure luck in online card games.Even you play with strategy in the offline game,it can be destroyed by the betrayal of the game.
uhm. What?
Every casino has their own way of marketing strategy to attract customers and keep them engaged so as you're saying offline casino may offers free perks whereas online casino offers lots of bonus, free spins, events and promotional campaigns, weekly, monthly rewards, etc so there is no lack of such events comparing with offline when it comes to online casinos.
exactly. All online casinos out there offer some sort of spend milestones that in turn offer rewards per milestone achieved. This itself already acts as a pseudo-loyalty program for most online casinos but sure, let's humor the inclusion of loyalty programs for customers of online casinos, which will literally cause some small-scale casinos to go under due to the amount of lost profits they would accumulate, and most major online casinos half-assing their other reward programs because "they get certain rewards on our loyalty program anyway". I get it, it's nice to be thanked for your loyalty, but the casino didn't force you to choose them, you came to their site of your own volition, the least you could do is not fuck up the clockwork system most casinos have now.
1655  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [POLL] Using AI to predict outcomes on: March 03, 2023, 08:12:40 PM
Yes, you are actually right on that very statement of yours, because I just tried testing if ChatGPT if it can predict future outcome of a football match, and the A.I supply told that it beyond it's power to predict future event or the correct score of a football match, as there are many factors that might affect it's outcome, such as what you mention above (I.e injuries, team performance & weather e.t.c).

Quote
I'm sorry, but as an AI language model, I am not able to predict the future or provide specific scores for sporting events. Sports matches are unpredictable and can be influenced by various factors such as team performance, injuries, weather, and many other variables. It's best to watch the game and see how it unfolds.

Source: ChatGPT

I wonder to what extent the future is unknown for ChatGTP? In general, all events range from "can't happen" to "will definitely happen". Obviously if you ask "will the sun rise tomorrow" then the answer will be "Yes" and not "I am a language model so I don't know". Probably with sporting events it is possible to get some thoughts from ChatGTP. But it is necessary to correctly formulate questions and not ask what is really impossible to predict.
The language model only covers data up until sometime in 2021. So data that would go further than said year would be beyond ChatGPT's means. There's also the case of stuff that it has no power over knowing because data about it is really nonexistent, like asking it what is the quotient of 0/0. I reckon and I tried this quite a few times already, that ChatGPT could still provide game stats for people who are really looking to use it as a form of prediction tool to know game outcomes before the match begins, but it is also worth noting that these data are fairly outdate and may not really mean shit in the grand scale of things, but oh well, If you're doing it for the kicks might as well go for it, but as long as openai is stuck with ChatGPt and its outdated sources, you can't really use it for game predictions.
1656  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: My $300 bet won $417,000 on: March 03, 2023, 05:55:30 PM
You only share your good news, not your gambling strategy, I hope newbies won't get hooked with this type of news and start developing some kind of unrealistic dream, makes sure you know what you are doing and gamble responsibly with the amount you are ready to lose. Avoid getting addicted to gambling by all means.
He literally told everyone what his strategy is. So even if the newbies get hooked on this notion of easy wins they'd be smacked by the reality of things immediately, at least as long as they read the entirety of the post. He disclosed how calculated his every move is, I cannot stress that enough, plus at its core, this post isn't even one to inspire people to gamble more, literally just a post on how he made a profit off of his 300 bucks. In any case, I think he did all his part in making sure no people will misinterpret this post as a call to action to make people gamble more, as a stretch this is more of an "How I did it". I don't think he's liable for any actions people will commit in the future, that's just my point.
1657  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: It's on! 2024 US Presidential Election Biden+Harris Vs Trump Bitcoin betting.... on: March 02, 2023, 10:32:14 PM
I've heard in the news that he okay'd The Willow Project, a campaign that effectively privatizes the whole state of Alaska for oil mining, if that doesn't sit well with you already, wait til you realize that if the decades-long campaign were to be allowed to operate, an estimated 300 million tons of greenhouse gases will be released to the atmosphere, rendering climate change an irreversible problem. Sleepy Joe is gonna have to answer to the people, especially when he promised prior to his inauguration that no more oil will be drilled in federal soil. These guys never watched The Lorax and it shows.

As with the elections, this is going to be a definitive factor of who's going to win or not. Especially considering the fact that the public is now more aware and more concerned of the effects of climate change compared to yesrs ago.
1658  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: My Experience on Bulk Bankroll vs Partial Bankroll on: March 02, 2023, 09:13:52 PM
8n almost all logical circumstances you are always implored by the system to play partial bankroll instead of busting your balls on a bulk bankroll. Bulk's high risk, high reward, but in a game that is already risky for the most pwrt, this just puts unnecessary strain and pressure to the player which they otherwise wouldb't have to deal if they hadn't gone bulk. Plus at the same time, bulk minimises your playtime which therefore limits how many wins you can get in comparison to Partial bankrolls. Personally, I prefer partial bankrolls instead of bulk as it's so much better in many ways, but if I'm feeling ballsy and lucky, I tend to go bulk just for the hell of it.
1659  Other / Off-topic / Re: John Fury didn't sign the contract but wants double payment from Jake Paul on: March 02, 2023, 08:36:36 PM
As with all contracts go, if you don't sign it, it's good as toilet paper. Tommy Fury clearly isn't confident he'd win the fight, so he took the strategy of appealing to the masses by publicly telling Jake he's gonna sign it, but in the backgrounds he didn't, so if things go south for him and Jake wins the bout he's not liable to pay him all of his earnings for that fight, and if he does win he can appeal by saying he agreed to it. Jokes on him but the as long as the contract isn't sign, his words mean as much as the dumps he take in the morning, although they can argue it's a verbal agreement, so there's that. In any case, if they take this to court this will be a very funny ordeal that I may or may not watch unfold.
1660  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why do people go into gambling? on: March 02, 2023, 07:44:50 PM
A plethora of reasons really, but let's talk about the most common ones, mainly gambling for entertainment, and gambling for profit.

Gambling for entertainment, as it implies, is gambling with the sole purpose of letting off steam, winding up, or relaxation. Most of the people who gamble for entertainment aren't really in for the profits, but rather to pass time and for the experience. As a result their capacity to expect so low almost always leads to them being very collected, and never disappointed.

On the other hand, gambling for profit is one of the stupidest things you could do to yourself, especially if you don't really have what it takes to go pro. When you gamble for profit, you tunnel vision on one thing: to win and get money, and with gambling's nature always leaning towards profiting the house, these people lose more than they earn, which in turn creates a cycle that ultimately drains them of all the energy, motivation, and money that they have.
