2621  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is holding bitcoin Greedy? on: November 05, 2017, 08:22:17 PM
Of course it is not. If you don't hold someone else will hold the coins you sent out. As a matter of fact, bircoin is quite centralized when it comes to wealthy distribution and the fact that its price is rising does not change that all that much. 1% of the top addresses hold 99% of all BTC or something like that. Check out the address rich list for proof of that.
2622  Economy / Economics / Re: Paradise Papers: a new massive leak of the elite's off-shore account (big names) on: November 05, 2017, 08:15:52 PM
So what do you make of this? The system is built as such so it is more efficient for the wealthy to avoid taxes. If taxation was reasonable then more wealthy would actually be paying it but right now it is in their best interest to invest in legally avoiding it as they would be paying out less this way.

On Bono and Madona though, I think that it'quite hypocritical coming from them. They were quite big in politics and it's very hypocritical for them to advocate for things they don't follow themselves.
2623  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: CPU Mining Coins ? on: November 05, 2017, 07:58:49 PM
CPUs are quite inefficient for mining as they deliver a low hasheate and still work at full load for it. Nicehash's miner is perhaps the most easy to use miner for such purposes but I'm in no position so say if it's the most profitable one. The website has a profit calculator AP you could use to.mewsure your hardware. The mining software has benchmarking for more case specific reports.

2624  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: DEEP ONION SCAM!!!! on: November 05, 2017, 07:47:10 PM
Deep onion really did pick a weird distribution scheme for its system's tokens. I think that it's quite indicative of the seriousness of the project. Its market capitalization has remained low thought the release of it and I don't think that it will be going anywhere higher. More than likely that it will be forgotten sooner or later, no big loss.
2625  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2017-10-31] The Race To Ban Or Regulate Bitcoin And ICOs on: November 05, 2017, 07:23:02 PM
This is quite a statement. I agree that governments would look towards ICOs with suspicion. It's just too much of a good deal for ventures looking for funding. No tax, reserves held right under the government's nose with no possibility of seizure, full flexibility to avoid regulation etc. Govt would like to get involved, but I think ICOs would find a way to circumvent such regulation.
2626  Economy / Economics / Re: Are cryptocurrencies better than regular currency on: November 05, 2017, 06:39:56 PM
The cryptocurrencies are better than the regular currency because of the way of us dealing with them. With the use of the internet it will become much easier for us to transact different type of transaction like buying things or services through online and with the cryptocurrencies. The world will have much lesser hassle in doing different kind of things because of the use of internet and the cryptocurrencies.
That's really something that would depend on each person's use case though. Crypto currency is better in certain principles but actual money still does better in terms of adoption and for means of exchange. Measiging the  quality if each is quite subjective.
2627  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Goldman Sachs CEO Warns Not To Dismiss Bitcoin on: November 05, 2017, 06:28:03 PM
Banks have the power to still ignore Bitcoin and at the moment there is no direct connection with their sevoces and demand for them along with crypto. Big investors and institutions are just starting to get products out directed to the holders of capital, but in so far bircoin was mostly directed as an alternative.
2628  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Segwit2x fork, B2X Price on: November 05, 2017, 05:32:15 PM
I think it would be impossible to speculate on the price. It's even hard to see what is going to happen with the 2 x fork and if it could be brought to life even. There seems to be no code for it and in spite of the launch approaching preparations are not improving.
2629  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Nov 16 Bitcoin Fork questions on: November 05, 2017, 11:54:41 AM
What are you guys going to do with your BTC? Should I keep mine on Coinbase or on Coinomi since it seems like I can redeem the new fork coin if I put it on Coinomi right? But if I put it on there on my cell phone I run the risk of not being able to send it to an exchange to sell right?
If you are more of a speculator you could put your coins in an exchange that has stated to support the new crypto currency spawned after the potential fork. This is a.more direct way to cash out in case that tomens can be reedemed and exchanged after the fork. Using an independent wallet would require network infrastructure to be in place for transactions to be facilitated.
2630  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Nov 16 Bitcoin Fork questions on: November 05, 2017, 11:01:45 AM
Nothing will happen to your Bitcoin, it's nothing to worry about. On the other hand, one worrysome thing would be if you actually wanted to grab the forked token, if it ever comes to life. Usually exchanges are the first to provide users with it as proven from other forks but this is still a trust based method. If developers are prompts to provide users with a client then you could simply keep BTC to a wallet where you hold the private key.

But 2x doesn't seem to have much (if any) Dev support.
2631  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Unsecured WiFi on: November 05, 2017, 10:54:58 AM
Yes, it can. Secure your desktop's settings and use a VPN if you're are using public WiFi. It's hard to restrict entry but even if you do also make sure that your VPN uses a secure and password protected DNS that will allow you to browse the web and use other web applications uninterrupted from Man in the Middle attacks.
2632  Bitcoin / Mycelium / Re: Mycelium Bitcoin Wallet on: November 05, 2017, 03:45:45 AM
Is there a market for Mycelium tokens?
Nope, it's likely abandoned. Check my thread on reviewing the crowdsale about it being basically a donation. There was some drama there but the people supporting Mycelium ultimately jumped ship.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1455773.0

It's astounding how the people that put in money aren't even complaining.
2633  Economy / Exchanges / Re: List of bitcoin debit cards on: November 05, 2017, 03:40:34 AM
What about PAYEER? Any actual Review available?
and their fees? are they fair?
I have not heard much about them. Perhaps not many people here use their card service, the fees were not very attractive last time I checked though and this could be the reason it ultimately didn't catch up with Bitcoin users.
2634  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Which coin will rise the earliest and most powerful on: November 05, 2017, 03:37:51 AM
I think that none of the above will rise to outperform Bitcoin. Through that period of time, if bitcoin's rise continues, there there is great potential for best them all. It's irrelevant to comment on which coins will rise in specific because it's all speculation and can't be predicted unless the person mentioning it is orchestrating a pump, quite impossible still.
2635  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BitCoin Is Too Complicated for Average People! on: November 04, 2017, 10:40:53 PM
As much as it sounds like something that many Bitcoin users are afraid to admit, it's sadly the truth. There is no institution with the motif of driving potential Bitcoin users through a standarized process of using the currency, and so many people are left in the dark about its potential. Communities have come together to built nice guide through websites but scams and dubious crypto related projects still come up first when people look into crypto resources.
2636  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: More and more BitcoinATMs on: November 04, 2017, 09:53:56 PM
I really hope that Bitcoin ATMs start following free market principles sooner or later because up to now it still is an oligopoly. A few companies are selling Bitcoin through their ATMs at ridiculously high rates, bewbies would better just be buying off regular online markets of the existing web of trust.
2637  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Holding BTC vs Day trading or short term trading. on: November 04, 2017, 04:19:23 PM
I think that short term trading is the best alternative of the three as people that have the nerve to deal with crypto markets tend to earn on the long run as crypto markets are bullish. You'd be unlucky to buy stuff the top prior to another fall though, it had happened to many people but holders in the end were avenged by new all time highs.
2638  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin Price Moving Towards $7500, Market needs a crash on: November 04, 2017, 04:09:28 PM
There is no "need" for a price fall? It would be possible for Bitcoin to keep rising if capital flows keep coming into its market. Thing is, it would not be a straight forward rise. There would of course be profit taking all the way.
2639  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is Booming!...What's your TARGET? on: November 04, 2017, 12:24:43 PM
I don't think hat the current market sentiment indicates a clear target. Everyone is holding as even more money flows into BTC markets. Altcoins are also getting a hot from bitcoin's rise as it outperforms them. Eventually, a fall would cause a widespread downward spike most probably, but the current sentiment makes it seem like a recovery would be possible.
2640  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Are you a True Believer? on: November 04, 2017, 12:22:09 PM
I am actually using Bitcoin to my advantage for both work and personal life. I find the way it can be used to transact very innovative and useful. However, I believe that it would be still be hard to implement such payments in bricks and mortars businesses without losing out on the immutability and trustmessness it offers. I don think Bitcoin is widespread adoption ready in spite of me using it daily.
