2621  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: infographic for newbie (how to buy btc) on: May 12, 2018, 11:46:10 AM
I think their case needs further discussion in meta so that others(who are expert in busting merit abusers) can also help in the investigation.
I might consider giving neutral tag to both and will observe their account. In future if I find any suspicious activities I will then create a topic in meta. Feel free to create a topic if you want to with the clues on my early comment. Let's see what others say about it.

This is what I have been looking for. The simplest step by step guide with useful infographic helps me to understand the flow in buying a bitcoin.  I appreciate your post. Thank you.
Are you aware of merit farming?

A (9)> B
B (4)> A
A (2)> B
B (1)> A

A end up adding 5 more merits
B end up having 11 more merits

Assuming you are A that will make you 23 merits
And the other one is B that will make him/her 14 merits

If the OP would create the info graph then I would say spending your 9 sMerits to one person was valid.

Don't you think there are smart people on this forum?

Either you two know each others or both account owner is same person.

Please do not abuse merit or both account will be at risk of having redTrust and your life will be very hard joining on bounties.
2623  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: I need your opinion and advice on: May 12, 2018, 10:30:53 AM
Hi guys!

I created the project a bit like CryptoKitties, only CruptoArtworks, without the ability to reproduce. This is my first experience and I did everything alone.

After I finished, I realized that I do not know how to entice people. And I have a question? Am I doing the right thing that I made this project, or is it not necessary for anyone?

To fully understand what the site is about, here is the link https://cryptoartworks.io

I will be glad to hear any your opinion.

The website looks Ok to me, very simple and clean. I personally like the simple and clean stuff but I have seen people want to see options, lots of options. May be categorise the artworks, decorate the each category pages with eye catching website design. What I am talking about is the presentation where the viewer will feel the stock is large number. You feel good when you go to Sainsburry's to buy a crisp than to buy it from a local small shop. Reason is the luxury presentation and feeling of finding everything in one place.

Find a marketing angle and be strategic on your marketing.
Even the biggest food chain Mcdonald's use this bait. A cheese burger for £0.99 but you actually end up spending £5 to £10. It's marketing strategy mate. Give people that they want.

Find out a way to incentivize the visitors, give them free offer, buy one get one free, buy to get one free, mix and match, give them something that will grow their interest to re-visit your website. You see variations? You need to be marketing guy to market your stuff. Think about Facebook. Anyone can clone or create a social media but how many become as good as Facebook? None. Marketing is the key for everything to see it's success.

2624  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: The Fit to Talk English project on: May 12, 2018, 10:08:44 AM
Why was the project not supported by those who needed it
- People now a days do not care about personal development, unfortunately they care about quick financial gains. I am sure If you could introduce any idea for them to make money then they would happily join there. (i.e: awarding referral bonus, revShare for being active etc etc)

and what can I do to improve the project?
Think about a marketing angle where people will find they will have a financial gain (a greedy way). Believe it or not this is the best bait. Even the biggest food chain Mcdonald's use this bait. A cheese burger for £0.99 but you actually end up spending £5 to £10. It's marketing strategy mate. Give people that they want.

If there is little interest, should I just leave it to fade away?
Depends on how big your cause is. If it's very BIG then stick to it. 1 year/2 years/5 years/10 years... Be consistent. Someday you will figure out how it should be worked.

PS: I noticed FitToTalk since you launched it but did not find it interesting because there were not many members to hangout but I am changing my mind. I am going to join now to support the cause (assuming the cause is big for you)

Hello! I just wanted to say hello in the beginner section first Smiley .  I would like to start an introductional thread about our platform but I am not sure where to place it and if it is even ok to do so or if it would be considered advertising. So If a moderator could guide me in the right direction/guideline me that would be awesome. Thanks

This is the best place for you for the time being... Since you are new I would suggest to read the top 6 stickies from meta board.

Most importantly this one: Unofficial list of (official) Bitcointalk.org rules, guidelines, FAQ.
This is one of the topic which I found very important and useful topic for me when I started the forum.

2627  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Issue with Minerjones and anonymousminer for an escrow. on: May 11, 2018, 03:50:51 PM
I’m beyond worried for both of us.
May be he is telling the truth judging by the feedback left for him from minerjones (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=trust;u=1668017)

Of course you have the right to investigate more but if I was you then I would not hesitated. Hope this helps

2628  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Btc transaction still unconfirmed after hours *TIME RUNNING OUT :( * on: May 11, 2018, 03:42:17 PM
It still unconfirmed. Try doing the that Xynerise advised. Hope it goes confirmed soon. Next time add some extra fee for transactions like this which are time sensitive (BEFORE 4 hours and stuffs)
2629  Other / Meta / Re: Discussion in need: "Report to moderator" on: May 11, 2018, 03:34:58 PM
Lol! OP has given a lot of work to Lamborghini member Hilariousandco.
I gave him a freeway to drive around  Grin
Actually I was actually ignorant.

I'm not sure on specifics but AFAIK it's mainly the global moderators which have the full perms to see reports from all subforums. The rest only moderate the subforums they are assigned to and naturally can only see reports from their sections

This was my point too. Those who only moderate the subforums/subboards, IMO they will have no clue that if those same contents were reported in other boards or not.
2630  Other / Meta / Re: Please restrict the serious discussion board to members and above. on: May 11, 2018, 03:27:05 PM
We need something like a punishment if their post is reported by many people. Lets say, 1000 people reporting, then he/she is banned for 1 day, etc. Of course moderators or admin the one who will decide it is a spam or not.
I doubt many people do this reporting practice. I even saw in one post theymos posted some data of local board where very few numbers of members were reporting.

In addition IMO the "report to moderator" function do need few reports so that we can see...
=>which one has been already reported,
=>which one considered as accepted and
=>which one was rejected.
2631  Other / Meta / Re: Liar exposure, stubborn and shameless! on: May 11, 2018, 01:14:50 PM
Yatsan, ArnoldChippy, djsugar, mjglqw, Hui8, aces777

You really need to bring some solid proof that all above accounts are from this guy. I am sure there are DT members' who will be happy to tag them.

Account selling has been discouraged.

18. Having multiple accounts and account sales are allowed, but account sales are discouraged.
2632  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: MetaMask ? on: May 11, 2018, 11:33:47 AM
What is MetaMask and how it connects to your wallet ?
Seems like you have a lot of one liner questions asking here and there. archive post history

Do you know there is a search function on this forum and you can easily search the discussed topics?

I encourage you to use the feature or the way you are going, any of the mod may ban you for posing spammy message.
2633  Other / Meta / Re: Please restrict the serious discussion board to members and above. on: May 11, 2018, 11:28:09 AM
This spammer in serious discussion is a prime example of the need to restrict posting to members, and thread starting to full members.
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=1694770;sa=showPosts

There are other examples.

It's too much there. And about this user...
He is spamming all-most all boards: Discussion in need: "Report to moderator"
2634  Other / Meta / Re: Discussion in need: "Report to moderator" on: May 11, 2018, 11:06:17 AM
Hilariousandco has a point... Just report one post and state everything, ex. "there are similar post from this forumite on different threads/boards" that way, we can check the profile of the said person and do what's necessary...

So, reporting to one mod (does not matter on which board) will do the job?
2635  Other / Off-topic / Re: [OPEN: 15 available] submit your last 10 posts (+additional 1) to receive merit on: May 11, 2018, 11:03:18 AM

I am sorry I could not find any post that worth merit. You seriously need to improve your post quality. I see most of your posts are already discussed topics in Trading Discussion, Altcoin Discussion, Bitcoin Discussion. Found few on meta but those were kind of asking for merits and showing appreciations type conversations. I would suggest you to try next time again once you will have enough good quality posts. Good luck mate.
2636  Other / Off-topic / Re: A Waiting list to receive (my) sMerits (provably yours too) on: May 11, 2018, 10:53:04 AM
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2818350.msg28856972#msg28856972

Gave lauda all my 4 sMerits. They deserved it, but I didn't think I'd get so little of 'em over time.
Do you really think lauda and all other Legendary members need anymore merits? They have enough. You need to look for someone who is in need of merit and creating good contents for the forum.
2637  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is ICO WhitePaper Matter Most? on: May 11, 2018, 10:48:39 AM

I really like this image. Masterpiece!!!  Cheesy

By the way when I chose an ICO I consider few variables...
1. The team
2. Any MVP
3. Clear Raodmap
4. Does the project has any real usability
5. Interstate from the community

I never read any whitepaper although I have already invested in 13 ICOs (LOL) and most few of them are really successful so far
(made me a lot of ROI).
2638  Other / Meta / Re: My Account got Hacked... on: May 11, 2018, 10:33:15 AM
i really have no idea what sign message means/how to do that(if there is video tutorial , it would help more) ... why can't they just send "Verify Email" to the first email and that's it? The account had same email for over a year until it got hacked...

Go to here: https://www.myetherwallet.com/signmsg.html

This tutorial might help: https://medium.com/@eugen_lechner/sign-and-verify-a-wallet-address-with-myetherwallet-1a46f6e2853e

Good luck

PS: Try to remember if you ever posted any bitcoin address or any ETH address from your original account. If you did post any bitcoin address or ETH address then try to find it out from that account (do extensive search on your post history page). If you find any then get the access of that address (Bitcoin or ETH) and sing the address.

If that's a bitcoin then do as KWH said and if that's an ETH then follow the above links.

Remember if you never used any ETH or BTC address ever then I doubt you will ever be able to recover your lost account.
2639  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Trezor or Nano Ledger ? on: May 11, 2018, 10:26:31 AM
What are the advantages and disadvantages of both ?
I personally use Ledger Nano so I can vouch for it. It will allow you to store several altcoins along with your Bitcoin which is handy when you are keeping everything in one device.
Here you will find the list of supported coins for ledger neno: https://www.ledgerwallet.com/cryptocurrencies

Sorry for my ignorance on Trezor I really do not know much about it
2640  Other / Meta / Re: My Account got Hacked... on: May 11, 2018, 10:10:26 AM
my account was hacked (dan5189)

i locked it and sent email to cyprus , got no answer , soon the lock will be gone and account gone forever , if there is any admin here please help, i have no idea how it happend(maybe cause forum doesn't have 2nd auth defence) but someone changed my email and password after that.

Is that possible to recover the account without the btc address and all those signature things?

I Am the owner Of the First email of the account(not the changed one) And i can prove it to any admin , could i get some help please?
If you have any ETH address used for any bounty or anything then it may help. I have seen someone signing their ETH address to unlock their account.

Try finding any ETH address you ever posted from your original account. If there is any then sign a message to that address and try with that proof. Hope you get your account back. Good luck.

- It's not gonna help I guess coz OP already said...
Is that possible to recover the account without the btc address and all those signature things?

Seems like OP does not have a singed stacked BTC address here.

Update: I had to go through under the pile of my post history LOL
Unlocked account <====== this is the post I was talking about.

Hope it helps
