2621  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin crashes when those investing realise 2 things on: November 14, 2013, 08:46:53 AM
We need to decide if bitcoin is scarce, or if it is almost unlimited!
Right now bitcoin is basically a commodity, therefore it's scarcity is an advantage.  If it wants to be a currency, then it becomes a disadvantage..
2622  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Invictus Innovations ProtoShares Cheat Sheet | CPU Mining on: November 14, 2013, 08:43:23 AM
I'm done on this one now, the difficulty is to high already.  I didn't manage to find a block and have about 5 PTS from pools total.
I think people using multiple cloud servers has kicked out the solo miner pretty quickly Sad
2623  Economy / Economics / Re: Andrew Huszar: Sorry for QE on: November 14, 2013, 06:16:59 AM
Well it doesn't look like Yellen is going to stop QE anytime soon, so they haven't learned anything from their mistakes...
2624  Economy / Speculation / Re: What is behind the recent growth in price? on: November 14, 2013, 06:12:39 AM
I think the shutting down of silk road and increase in high wealth individuals investing are the main reasons.
2625  Economy / Speculation / Re: Imagine 10000 on: November 13, 2013, 03:41:04 PM
The problem is that if they constantly appreciate, no one will ever spend them.
Then it becomes a bit like the Tulips, and it will crash to the ground.

I would rather see a bit coin economy grow, then the price can appreciate slowly up to 10,000 or whatever
2626  Economy / Economics / Re: Is it just me or am I missing somethin ??? on: November 13, 2013, 03:13:28 PM
it is GH/s/$ that is important for ROI, and when you can start mining with it, possibly the most importantly
2627  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: CPU Mining "Rig" - What's Needed? on: November 13, 2013, 03:11:44 PM
Hmm... so what's up with all these people investing in CPU rigs?

Mining PTS
Exactly that, and future CPU only coins
2628  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Best place to trade Alt coin ? on: November 13, 2013, 11:36:28 AM
If it is a low value coin - Cryptsy
Otherwise BTC-e or MCXnow, it depends which coin you want to trade for which one is better.
2629  Economy / Economics / Re: Is it just me or am I missing somethin ??? on: November 13, 2013, 11:17:52 AM
Person learns about bitcoin.
Person decided to get bitcoin and reads that they can buy or mine.
Persone decides mining sounds cool, and is cheaper than buying if you buy eruptors,
Person buys eruptors realises that it is pointless and either buys BTC or gives up.
2630  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: November 13, 2013, 11:12:16 AM
If not now, they we will do it this afternoon.  The rises seem to be 2 a day at the moment, 1 for China and 1 for the US.
2631  Economy / Economics / Re: Adopting the Bitcoin economy on: November 13, 2013, 09:41:09 AM
Which country are you in?
Is there a big advantage to getting paid in BTC to just buying them as and when you choose?

I can image end of the month price spikes!
2632  Economy / Speculation / Re: If whales were to prematurely dump 500000 btc right now, where would support be? on: November 13, 2013, 09:38:33 AM
I expect that the price would be pushed very low and bounce back to about 80% very quickly.
We'd be back where we are now within a week, it's like a juggernaut!
2633  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Invictus Innovations ProtoShares Cheat Sheet | CPU Mining | Fork at Block 12096 on: November 12, 2013, 11:37:55 PM
The Block Rate is still way off, about 1 per minute.  Will we get another massive difficulty increase?

Some people introduced new miners that are 5x faster... so I expect a 8x+ difficulty increase within the next 20 hours.

Seems like a big increase but I guess it is better for then to try to get a handle on it quickly otherwise it'll be all mined out in the next few weeks!
2634  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Was the government shutdown good for the economy? on: November 12, 2013, 10:21:41 PM
Or they have been over reported this month. Best to get good numbers out of the way now, then next month give out a stinker of a number to make sure QE infinity can go on unabated...
2635  Economy / Securities / Re: [IPVO] [Multiple Exchanges] Neo & Bee - LMB Holdings on: November 12, 2013, 10:19:16 PM
The shares will remain for sale on the direct platform only, with a free transfer for the amount of shares purchased into any platform we have available. The date was only set to determine if the IPVO was deemed a success or a failure, as detailed early in the thread. We shall remove the walls on the 30th November and if people want to invest directly they can do.

The dividends will only be paid on shares sold, I will not receive any dividends on my holdings until 0.0035 BTC/Share has been paid on all public shares as per the agreement.

In relation to news releases, I announce what I can without jeopardizing certain deals, once we have things nailed down we push the information out to all investors. We have many different things happening on the ground, this results in many loose ends. When they are tied you will know about it, the business world is not accustomed to working at the speed Bitcoin operates at YET.

One of our merchants are planning their own news release in advance of us doing so, because they are pushing to get the announcement in the printed WSJ.

I guess if the merchant news is as good as we all hope, the unsold shares issue won't be an issue for very long!
2636  Economy / Speculation / Re: Ripple competition on: November 12, 2013, 10:10:59 PM
It's pretty confusing though.  I can't do anything on my account because I don't have any credit. I can't buy any credit either... Someone needs to trust me before I can do anything... Seems limited to me.

2639  Other / Off-topic / Re: Football (soccer) scores site on: November 12, 2013, 12:49:07 PM
livescore pretty much covers everything you could want already...
2640  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Has Bitcoin changed your political position on: November 12, 2013, 12:47:37 PM
So far it hasn't changed my position too much.  When a government tries to shut down Bitcoin, then it will.
