anyone bet on Real Madrid ?
Please share

I bet for Real Madrid -2
They don't play until tomorrow! I haven't watched much Spanish football this season either, so probably no bet for me.
I generally stick to English and German leagues.
1764  Economy / Gambling / Re: Football and NFL betting this weekend. on: January 17, 2015, 04:54:57 PM
Was never in doubt in the man utd game!
I will wait until the Newcastle game is over before looking for more bets.
1765  Economy / Gambling / Re: Football and NFL betting this weekend. on: January 17, 2015, 03:32:00 PM

Manchester United -1 @ 2.133, I think LvG will have them ready after last weeks loss to give QPR a good beating
Southampton match odds @ 2.4. Newcastle are very hit and miss, but recently more miss.

The bitcoin odds comparison table

http://bitcoin-betting-guide.com/odds-comparison-tables/english-premier-league/

shows Nitrogen do indeed have the best odds on Man U -1 but the best odds on Southhampton are over at Betcoin Sports. With bitcoin its so quick, easy and anonymous to sign up and deposit I think its worth having accounts at multiple books.
I didn't know about that site, thanks a lot, I will use them in the future
1766  Economy / Gambling / Football and NFL betting this weekend. on: January 17, 2015, 10:22:43 AM
Ok I in no way mean to give advice, but here are my bets for the weekend.
I am betting on Nitrogensports.

Manchester United -1 @ 2.133, I think LvG will have them ready after last weeks loss to give QPR a good beating
Southampton match odds @ 2.4. Newcastle are very hit and miss, but recently more miss.  We never do well against the Saints, I fancy Suthampton to keep up their good form.
I will bet them both as singles and a parlay.

I will post tomorrow's football bets later today, then the NFL ones tomorrow.

If anyone agrees, feel free to bet along with me and good luck to you!
If you disagree, then feel free to bet against me, but I hope you lose! Wink

but people understand that there isn't enough money to go around and that someone (probably you by the time you get to hear about it) will get screwed over?
You are essentially giving money to the owner and his friends, and hoping enough other idiots come after you so that you don't lose everything...

1769  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin - Shitcoin on: January 13, 2015, 08:26:27 AM
my predictions have been right on the ball
I did't really see a prediction, I saw a complaint about inflation.  The inflation "issue" is still there, but it can't be the reason why the price has falled 70%+ from the ATH!
Inflation isn't even nearly high enough to cause that!

edit: spelling

Nitrogensports are good, but they don't have a bonus.
1771  Economy / Economics / Re: BTC at $240 on: January 13, 2015, 08:19:24 AM
Ok, BTC is at $240.  Happy or sad?
Sad, but I am in for the long run, so might use it as a buying opportunity, unless people start moving into an alternative crypto in a serious way.
I can't see that crypto won't play a bigger role in the future, and bitcoin is the market leader.
1772  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Saudi prince: $100-a-barrel oil 'never' again on: January 13, 2015, 08:17:12 AM
Quote
Saudi billionaire businessman Prince Alwaleed bin Talal told me we will not see $100-a-barrel oil again. The plunge in oil prices has been one of the biggest stories of the year. And while cheap gasoline is good for consumers, the negative impact of a 50% decline in oil has been wide and deep, especially for major oil producers such as Saudi Arabia and Russia. Even oil-producing Texas has felt a hit. The astute investor and prince of the Saudi royal family spoke to me exclusively last week as prices spiraled below $50 a barrel. He also predicted the move would dampen what has been one of the big U.S. growth stories: the shale revolution. In fact, in the last two weeks, several major rig operators said they had received early cancellation notices for rig contracts. Companies apparently would rather pay to cancel rig agreements than keep drilling at these prices. His royal highness, who has been critical of Saudi Arabia's policies that have allowed prices to fall, called the theory of a plan to hurt Russian President Putin with cheap oil "baloney" and said the sharp sell-off has put the Saudis "in bed" with the Russians. The interview has been edited for clarity and length.

Full interview...http://www.usatoday.com/story/money/columnist/bartiromo/2015/01/11/bartiromo-saudi-prince-alwaleed-oil-100-barrel/21484911/
It sounds like utter rubbish to me.  What does he even mean? Never, like never? In 100 years time when I can buy a packet of chewing gum for $100 (if the USD is still around), oil will cost less than $100?
I expect $100 oil again in the next 3 years, if Russia somehow convinced the world today that it wasn't the bad guy everyone says they are, oil would rise by $30 in the next 4 weeks in my opinion.
1773  Economy / Speculation / Re: Production cost will determine price on: January 13, 2015, 08:12:45 AM
The mining thing is already obvious.
Illegal markets won't do anything for the price.
Only mass adoption will, and by now, almost everyone has heard of bitcoin. There is no spike up ahead.
I think you are speaking as an "insider". In normal life no one talks about bitcoin, no one understands it, they have probably heard the name now but they think it is that weird internet money!
When it become easier to use than cash/card, then people will really hear about it!
1774  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bulls become extinct already? Hahahahahahahaha on: January 13, 2015, 08:10:37 AM
Yep I hear you this was long needed. The bulls just got to bullish and arrogant. They will suffer now to 100 and below.

I like it.

They should have known a long time ago that bitcoin is not sustainable at these high levels.

How low would it have to go for you to buy right now?

Originally I wanted to buy in at $1.00, it hit like $2.03 I believe. Close but not my target.

However, I was the only person at that time from $30 all the way down to $2.00 who really was a bear at that point.

I think I would consider buying some around $10-$50. Only if the price stayed stable for a very long time. I really think that a new coin is going to come and replace bitcoin for #1 coin and then bitcoin is going to die like the rest of the alts and even lite coin.

It is going to take a while because lots of people who sold high are going to buy back in, but that should only temporary halt the decline back to sustainable levels.

IT will be interesting to see what happens.

Its going to be stable soon, wait for the chinese farms to capitulate, its not very far, patience is all the game

i don't think bitcoin will stable at anytime.

bulls & whales playing all the time Smiley
It's too small a market at the moment, very easy to move around for someone with a big wallet.  There are very few reasons why the price should keep getting whacked down, but it keeps on happening, so someone is gaining from it Sad

Any prop bets for the NCAA Football National Championship game tonight?
I fancied Ohio state, I am surprised to see them as 5.5 point dogs
I finally got one right!
@Nitrogen sports, would it be possible to make the format for Soccer (football almost anywhere but America) so that it is 1x2 i.e. Home team, away team, draw.
I find it confusing at the moment.
1776  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: January 12, 2015, 07:00:55 PM
It would just take one market buy on finex and the orderbooks looks stacked heavily in the favour of the bulls.
But the market keeps moving against us!  Well in the long run we will win Wink
1777  Economy / Economics / Re: Ponzi Schemes On The Rise Raking In Bigger Amounts Than Ever on: January 12, 2015, 06:55:38 PM
Human greed has no boundaries so no wonder there will be always different ponzis.
Lots advertise themselves as ponzis and everyone still flocks to them!  I think the current bitcoin user is more inclined to (possibly stupid) risk taking.
1778  Economy / Speculation / Re: Price is dropping and Difficulty is increasing !!! on: January 12, 2015, 06:44:55 PM
How is this possible ? How come more miners are joining the league at such a low price ? Is not it obvious that miners will spend more than what they'll make from mining at this below 300 price and upcoming 12% difficulty jump ?

New mining hardware still earns more than it costs to run, so if someone has such a device, it'll be worth operating it even if it might not earn back its initial cost. And production of mining equipment isn't instantaneous, so you're now seeing stuff coming online that was produced and/or ordered some time ago, when difficulty was lower and the price was higher. The people owning these new machines, be they producers or end users, may not be happy that they produced and/or ordered them, but they will still use them to minimize losses.
Yes it makes more than it costs to run, but you have to RoI, and that will take a very very long time at the moment, if ever.

1780  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Donetsk, Kharkov, Lugansk - way to Russia. on: January 11, 2015, 03:35:32 PM
ok I have a question: Is everything ok in Kharkiv now?
I have a chance to run a marathon there in April and it seems fairly safe at the moment...
SBU is pretty active since summer, as well as anti-government activists.

http://uatoday.tv/politics/explosion-at-kharkiv-cafe-hosting-azon-battalion-fundraiser-labelled-terrorist-attack-390858.html

Stay away from politics (pro- or anti-russian) and everything will be ok. Otherwise you can be abducted by SBU or  activists.
Well I would definitely stay away from any politics there, I am not sure, I would like to go, but not if it is really dangerous.

Well I think you should only ask yourself if a chance to run a Marathon there is worth the risk to become unwittingly involved in the ongoing insurgency/conflict. You may also be willing to ask the Marathon organizers there how about the security of the event, as well as the whole security situation there; but, I suggest you to also look out for your (and foreign) country travel advisories - e.g. US DoS Ukraine travel warning, UK FCO Foreign travel advice on Ukraine, etc..
Also you're planning to go alone or as a part of a larger group of runners? It your Group officially sanctioned or part of the armed/police forces of your country (as some of the major/established runners groups are here in Italy)?
A lot of things can alter the perception of you that people there may have after interacting with you.
Let We know what you decide to do (Go/No Go).

Just my 2 satoshi
I am definitely going to Ukraine, just a bit further west.  Whilst I was there, I thought I could do the marathon there.
The UK foreign office advises against it, the US seems less interested, the German's don't mention Kharkiv at all.  I thought maybe it was quiet there, but by what you all say here, it doesn't sound worth it.  As someone mentions, an event like a marathon could be a target, like Boston was, whether it be a flase flag or not.
