23 seems to be a real struggle #R3KT

fixed it!    Grin
2622  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: February 16, 2016, 10:56:22 AM
Pre-2016 top two daily volume highs were both 1012 BTC/day.

2016 has already seen 2500 BTC in volume in a single day.

 Shocked
 Cool
2623  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [NAUT] Nautiluscoin - First Coin w/Stabilization Fund - Digishield on: February 16, 2016, 10:29:15 AM
It's a dead scamcoin.

Yes it is.

I feel bad for all those burned in this pump and dump scheme, but we only learn valuable lessons if they are expensive.

Maybe NAUT should have a stabilization fund for the stabilization fund, IOW a "stabilization fund stabilization fund."

Because the one they have now (had?) isn't working.

Unless the purpose of the stabilization fund is to stabilize the price trend into a zero-bound trajectory.   Cheesy
2624  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: February 16, 2016, 09:51:14 AM
when a currency moves, it usually doesn't do so gradually.  Bitcoin rarely made new ground gradually, and neither do most cutting edge tech-stocks.  They have violent upward movements that eventually smooth out into new price bases.

Why?  Well, usually its fueled by new interest in the asset, and new money flowing in.  Consider there are many reasons why XMR could be exploding upward right now, all of them legitimate.  Perhaps the first few speculators in China have even caught wind of Monero.... now that could get real scary, real quick.

Good analysis.  We may be seeing the translation projects beginning to reach their intended audience.

2625  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How about Vanilla coin on: February 16, 2016, 08:29:14 AM
this is a conversation about VNL, and whether or not one should consider it as a legitimate project.

I don't consider VNL a legitimate project, because the dev uses stolen (ie unattributed) BTC code and when caught refused to do the right thing.

Where is the peer-reviewed cryptanalysis proving VNL's security is solid?

Is there a bug bounty, so Shen may be rewarded if he deigns to he come over here and teach you why VNL is broken?

Or is VNL too hard for anyone but JC to work on, since only he knows how the code he stole was munged in order to obscure its origin?

Another illegitimate detail of VNC is the fact its [ANN] thread is not only self-moderated, but locked.  Talk about your North Korean sensor ships!   Tongue
2626  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][DASH] Dash | First Anonymous Coin | Inventor of X11, DGW, Darksend and InstantX on: February 16, 2016, 08:03:06 AM

Thank fk we don't use ring signatures. Thats all I can say.

What brought about this change of heart?

Amir Taaki, one of the main developers and founders of DarkWallet, thinks DRK will be bigger than LTC soon: https://twitter.com/AmirTaaki/status/469844777803206657

At first I thought it was a fake account, but it's indeed Amir Taaki twitter account, interesting.

yep....looks real

Great sport Amir  Cool

Yeah, is a great confidence boost. Amir is fairly well known, he'll probably talk about us next time he's on TV

Does Amir Taaki approve of using the special Darksend version of Coinjoin, rather than following through on the original plan for upgrading to ring signatures?
2627  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][DASH] Dash | First Anonymous Coin | Inventor of X11, DGW, Darksend and InstantX on: February 16, 2016, 07:14:11 AM
As much as I hate to say it
I'm giving up on DASH
The crypto-community hates DASH and does nothing but kick it around and kick it down
Everybody is hung up on past actions....
I'm done....

Masternodes will be sold off and I won't be back...

Good luck all.............. You're gonna need it...

Dash had every opportunity to eschew the insta-mine and do a fair relaunch.  But the dev is more committed to keeping his "accidental" insta-mine than giving the coin's technology a chance to stand on its own, without being sandbagged by the botched fiasco of the initial two days.

I'm glad you've decided to do the right thing.  Always be the first one to panic, and slowly move towards the exits when you smell smoke.

Once a few Masternodes are sold off, the stampede for the door will begin.  It will get ugly; some people will be trampled and not make it out.

But we should note it's not only "past actions" which are an albatross around Dash's neck.  There's also the current, impossibly ambitious Evolution roadmap, which has zero hope of achieving even one of its blue-sky goals, much less a plurality or majority of them.

North Korean sensor ship

Off topic:
That is an American Arleigh Burke-class destroyer. It can be used to censor North Korea, I guess.

Oops!  That is the USS John McCain.  Silly image search!   Cheesy

But if North Korea doesn't have sensor ships, how does theymos oppress Bitcoin in such a totalitarian manner?
2629  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][DASH] Dash | First Anonymous Coin | Inventor of X11, DGW, Darksend and InstantX on: February 16, 2016, 05:20:43 AM

Hey Eduardo, do you want me to create an 8-round Darksend transaction for him to tackle? I'd be happy to do so!

I'd be happy to pledge some coins to this.  Let me know.
Me too.....I'll put 100 DASH in the pot to start with.  Not much...but lets do this.  Enough of all this BS.

We'll need a neutral, mutually agreeable escrow to hold the bug bounty.  No sense repeating the ugliness that came with the SDC discovery.
2630  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How about Vanilla coin on: February 16, 2016, 03:35:42 AM
The SSD HDD and on-board controller failed within 48 hours of that v2 block experiment. Now, thanks to Monero it must forever use an external USB drive.

Interesting how not a single person other than john-connor has reported such a problem.

Draw your own conclusions. I his credibility highly lacking, but decide for yourself.

Moreover, interesting how john-connor decided to try to change the subject.

Have you heard?  Did you know?  Monero destroys hard drives!

Is it true?   Shocked

I assume you guys know you are responding to a parody.

Satoshi is a lie.  Monero is not private.  Martin Armstrong's self-aware computer model will Link All The Things.

My dad is a fancy lawyer.  I am not in good health.  This is serious.

Please take me off Ignore!  You don't deserve to read my posts!

"We would like to say thank you to @ShenNoether for finding the flaw, and the bounty will be paid in SDC at the SDC price before the flaw was revealed to the public. This is the reason we set up the bounty program in the first place, to improve shadow's privacy, usability, etc."

Nice to see Team ShadowCash is doing the right thing and rewarding Shen for his incredibly valuable, fortuitous insight.

The bug bounty is a pittance compared to the actual value of what Shen discovered, but I see it more as an honorarium than an economically competitive motivation.

If Shen wanted to go black hat, he could have made a lot more than the trivial, borderline insulting ~5 BTC being proffered.

Now let's address the outrageous behavior recently exhibited by a segment of the SDC community.

Rather than graciously accept the bug report, too many of them went into knee jerk spams of hand-waving denial.

The excuses for denying Shen his bounty were especially atrocious, as were the attempts to deflect onto Monero responsibility for the unfortunate disclosure (and predictably negative market reaction).

The rude, ignorant people who denied there is a problem (in stark contrast to consensus reality) and sought to heap opprobrium upon Shen for daring to find the issue need to be made persona non grata, or SDC will never recover from the self-inflicted damage that has been done.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1285787.0 People highly value privacy/anonymity but a few knows what ring signature is

Of course the bovine hordes have no idea what a ring signature is, much less how to use points on an eliptic curve to properly calculate a feasibly unbreakable key pair.

To be honest it is my opinion that most of the coven hoofed members of this forum could not even pick a good password.  My password, on the other hand, is so well picked I can tell you what it is and you will STILL not be able to access any of my 214 accounts here.  Actually I cannot access many of them anymore either, but that is a story for another post.

My password is the first and only multi dimensional mathematical representation of a singularity.  Not the one at the center of OUR galaxy as Sagitarius A would just be too obvious.

I am not worried about revealing that is is based on APM 08279+5255 as no hackers would be able to understand the gravitational algorithms I needed to calculate the checksum for my singularity model, and I believe if they even tried to hack my password the sheer weight of it's genius would cause them to go entirely mad.

I chose, for this reason, not to even change my password when this site was hacked.  But also because I am somewhat suspicious there would a devastating effect on the fabric of OUR universe if I WERE to change it.  Even my mistakes are so magnificent it is difficult to know what they are capable of.

Martin Armstrong wrote:

"However, IF money is created by society, then Smith wins with a hidden element. he implies that government is not a producer of wealth but a consumer – the black hole that sucks in everything until society exists no more."

The emphasis, of course, is mine.

I expect none of you are intelligent enough to understand this reasoning. (apart from possibly Smooth (though I am not certain of this as he has been somewhat resistant of my idea to rename his Aeon project into a particular Pygmy dialect that I am fond of (the pronunciation would be something like djanalaloa*CLICK*tasahee))).

I simply do not have time to try to teach cattle to read much less understand.

Good day.

How does Martin Armstrong's computer model account for the revolutionary acceleration of the Singularity that is now occuring as the result of the existence of Martin Armstrong's computer model?

If the Halting Problem and Incompleteness Theorem walked into a bar, who would formerly decide on which drinks to order?

I alone can answer these questions, based on my visions relating to quantum annealing in TimeCube-like Hofstadter manifolds.

Is the guy also working on de-anomyzing darksent(d)s?

No, he stumbled upon it whilst working on Ring Confidential Transactions for Monero. Perhaps if a bounty was offered he would try.

Maybe we should set up a bounty to be paid via budget proposal if anyone succeeds.

Someone proposed to do that a year ago but had no luck.
I approve the proposal as well.

I wonder why nobody wants to pay for the hard work of bug hunting (ie vulnerability/penetration testing).

Does the community want Dash to really be secure, or do they want to avoid hearing unpleasant facts about its cargo cult bamboo version of good crypto?

I would never prioritize marketing fluff like soda machines and strippers over vital security improvements, and don't understand why anyone would (unless they are just here to push a scam).
2635  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: February 15, 2016, 11:16:39 PM
In September 2015, he was going around asserting that Mike Hearn would be the benevolent dictator of XT (assuming XT would be hardforked into becoming the "new" bitcoin).  I mean, jesus fucking christ, a guy has to lose some credibility in the community by the subsequent rage quit of someone who just a few months earlier would have had the potential of becoming the "benevolent dictator" of the "new" bitcoin.

Anyhow, Gavin comes off as a bit bitter about bitcoin consensus and bitcoin governance and seems to strongly suggest that bitcoin's governance has to be fixed, but then is a bit dodgy about that being the problem and continuing to insist that a technical fix is an emergency, while at the same time taking digs at the "broken" nature of bitcoin's governance .

In any event, his various assumptions and presentations of issues are losing their coherence and interferes with his objectivity and credibility as a trustworthy speaker.

One minute, Gavin is endorsing Hearn for the position of Bitcoin's glorious new benevolent dictator for life.

A bit later, Hearn flounces off in a huff of poutrage, having gone full drama queen and ragequit Bitcoin with maximum whininess.

That hurts Gavin's credibility, but not as much as his unending attempts to sell a contentious hard fork using fear and a false sense of urgency.

How much Coinbase equity does Gavin own?  I hope he's being well compensated for being such an epic shitlord, and not being coerced via NSL.
2636  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: February 15, 2016, 10:29:07 PM
where's trolfi these days?

he's hanging out on reddit surprisingly he's defending our beloved Bitcoin to the bitter end.

https://www.reddit.com/r/btc/comments/45rqb3/heres_adam_back_stalling_master_hei_gavin_lets/czzykx4?context=3

No he's insulting Bitcoin and advocating GavinCoin
GavinCoin WTF is that, Gavin is the longest standing developer he's taking heat for personal attacks, the only questionable thing hes done is visit the CIA and the CFR, and that was to tell them how bitcoin worked.

You just need to look at what he's produced to know he's pro bitcoin.

GavinCoin means squat, try looking for facts!

He's trying to make Bitcoin inflationary. He's a socialist. He's an enemy of Bitcoin.

GavinCoin is a fork of Bitcoin that increases the block size or the coin supply.

I must admit admiring the relative success of Generalissimo Trollfi's latest machinations.

It was obvious honey badger would never give a shit about Buttcoin.

But it was not obvious how best to adopt camouflage and infiltrate the Bitcoin community, until Frap.doc and the Gavinistas provided the perfect opportunity.

The tiny band of hard forking malcontents needed their numbers increased by Buttcoiner muscle, and the Buttcoiners needed entry into the legitimate ecosystem.

It was a match made in heaven; Frap.doc and Trollfi have been BFFs ever since.  Quite the adorable Maximalist/Denialist odd couple, they are.   Smiley

I see Monerocoin trying to beat-up Dashcoin like some kinda bully.

I'll never buy a single Monerocoin
What a god awful mess that seems to be

I did make my own little cartoon..... enjoy
haha

Dash isn't getting beat up by Monero as badly as poor little ShadowCash.

But give Shen a few days, I'm sure he'll have an even easier time de-anonymizing Dash's "bad crypto" than SDC's (which was at least based on ring signatures instead of Darksend's broken CoinJoin).

I don't see the "awful mess" you're talking about.  All I see is huge volume and huge price increases, backed by a great dev team and community.
