If you have a good alternator, a battery, and inverter in your car, maybe you could mine on the drive home? For those who are driving all the way from Germany or further to pick it up, maybe that could be feasible?

800 watts is risky but possible.

What I would like more details on is the software the used to get that thing working?

More details would be great.

However if this is fake then they are playing on two of the best used human conditions known to a swindler.

Greed, Fear

you are going to pick up your device, or why does primeasic not charge any shipping costs?

The idea is to view a working product prior to paying for it.

Once its validated then I will pay full for 1 unit.

And yes I wish to pick it up rather then have it shipped.

The idea is opposite - In order to have privilege  to pick it up you have to pay it first Wink

If "Real" I can understand their hesitation. Therefore I have provided further details in order to safe guard them.

However when dealing with any fly by night business the policy should be pay in person in cash or (BTC).

Sure it is not risk free. But I think together with that payment method the risk is reduced enough.

And then: There has to be one idiot who is the first to risk paying. May I change my member status to "greedy nervous f**ker" now?  Grin

This is the email I got.

I got an email reply today for of my email enquiring about how to place and order. It stated this Monday we will be able to order on the webpage. They also stated that they have 500 units presently and that they are a little bit overwhelmed by the interest. I will try to get for the details if I can view the product prior to purchasing it.

Please be careful. They changed the registration of the website: at the beginning was some "Edi" company that didn't know what an ASIC or BTC is. Then they changed it to HRP Hungary (hrp.hu), which I contacted and told me they have nothing to do with ASIC or BTC.

Some other people went to the addresses they have on the website, having the same "i don't know what you are talking about" answers from people there.

Last but not least, nobody had the chance to contact them at the brand new phone number they have created for this.

Don't get me wrong: I would love this to be real, I will be in Budapest next week and I would really love to buy some of the units myself. But there are red flags everywhere. The only non-red flag is this new picture, which is something than ca be very easily faked.

I would recommend ordering NOTHING until a few trusted members can see the working units with their eyes. It shouldn't be difficult, as I'm going to be there next week, we have some hungarian fellows reading the forum, and some others are at drive distance and waiting for a "local pickup address" to check this is not a scam.

vdragon and others have made himself available as well.

I am more excited to see EU get a foot in the door and have working ASIC solutions rather then getting one of the units for personal use.

I have already made the request to view the hardware prior to paying.

Hello,
Keep an eye out on our BTC Mining Library as we will be releasing news about a Open House coming up next week. It was discussed with a BTC media outlet to be the best course of action, and we humbly accepted the proposal.  We will be having 7 Bitcoin New Group Affiliates along with our owners at the open house to answer all questions, and to give a sneak peak to the BTC community of our facility.  We will be having computers on site connected to our LM 4.0 series for testing on any pool, as well as a quick demonstration of our future product the Mammoth Miner.  Certain Specs of the Mammoth Miner will be available.  We will also have the creator of the LM 4.0 and both owners of the business on site to answer any all questions.  We will be releasing Location information for our Akron OH production facility in our Mining Library on our website towards the end of the week.  Thank you for your interest and we look forward to hearing more from you.

NO reply yet from the email I sent.

This is rather intresting

I have yet to receive any replies to my emails and pm`s.

I know Budapest is a popular tourist location with some Norwegians. If it's a known scamming location within the country, it's probably because it's a hot spot for tourism - not because there's anything wrong with the locals in general.

My comment is based on local sentiment when trusting others without evidence. I do apologize if my comment offended. It was not my intention.

However family and friends "locals in general" do express concern that scams have been an issue as of late. I feel that it may have stemmed from the internet and is slowly making its way into the minds of those of the community.

Fraudulent schemes have been an ongoing issue online.

Fraudsters and those pushing scams, follow the money when they look for their next victims. No single location on earth that I am aware of has a monopoly of this fact.
2635  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: PrimeAsic - 80 Ghash/sec Asic Miner on: March 04, 2013, 07:03:25 PM
Those interested in this product should know that I am making an effort to have the claims validated.
This community has shown a healthy level of "skepticism" of the claims made by primeasic.

I appreciate the fact that "primeasic" team are making the fully functional hardware available for purchase and distribution to the general public.

If your claims can be validated at the time I would wish to leave as a customer.

"primeasic" once I get a reply from you with the location and time as long as it is located near Budapest, I can be there within the hour.
I would also like to inquire as to if we can make the purchase with Bitcoin to Euro exchange rate at the time? This would help keep the spirit of the project.

My caution is to be expected considering that Budapest is known for a hub of scamming activity. So those interested in purchasing prior to having claims somewhat validated be warned. Until someone is physically there to view review and potentially purchase the product in question, do not fall for any claims.

Also understand that the longevity of the hardware may operate but fail after a week of service.
I am approaching this with a healthy dose of Skepticism at this point.

"primeasic" if your reading this please reply to my pm's I can come down and help validate your claims in person if you wish if you are having a hard time with English then you can email me in Hungarian.

Midenkinek aki kivancsi erre a szerkezetre , tudatara akarom juttatni ,hogy mindent megteszek amit tudok hogy kideritsem hogy amit allitanak az igaz vagy sem.

Minimum Information

  • Price including VAT
  • Payment methods
  • Shipping times and price for EU/World
  • How many units available
  • Technical specifications

And as mentioned, proof of existence (30+ units mining on a pool, pictures of stocked units)

it would be clear in a couple of hours. I am excited, cannot wait long for this. to be honest, i have a bad feeling of this story
I am just waiting to hear back as to when and where I can go and view and order 1 of these units sometime this morning.
I don't expect them to be able to speak fluent English. We can do this in English or in Hungarian if they prefer.
2637  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: PrimeAsic - 80 Ghash/sec Asic Miner on: March 04, 2013, 02:17:12 AM
Hello Everyone!

I'm posting to announce our ASIC product, PrimeAsic which does up to 80Ghash/s using a little over 800W power.

We are a Hungary based company, started developing this project in 2012 June, finished it without ANY pre-order money at all.
Now the units are ready to ship, or to be picked up locally.

Our webpage is currently being developed as I post here, please give us a day so it will be fully finished.
Domains owned by us: bitasic.com, btcasic.com, 80gigahash.com, primeasic.com
All other names are not owned by us, and are possible scam attempts to misuse our name.

I will constantly post with pictures of the miner equipment, specifications, prices, company details and if requested the registration certificate, phone number, address for local pickup and I will try to respond to every questions you may have.

And at last, here is a proof of it mining:

You can go to ozco.in pool, check the user top 20 and see us there:)
Mining will be stopped after our page comes live.

Stay tuned for more info!

Are you able to have me come by today?

Explain like I'm 5 anyone? How does this help bitcoin mining? Do these serve for mining just as well as "asics"? How do they improve on the structure?

"At 40 and 45 nm process nodes, power has become the primary factor for FPGA selection. Spartan®-6 and Virtex®-6 FPGAs offer lower power, simpler power systems and PCB complexity, better reliability, and lower system cost. This white paper details how Xilinx designed for this new reality in Spartan-6 (45 nm) and Virtex-6 (40 nm) FPGA families, achieving dramatic power reductions over previous generation devices."

"Products are targeted at ultra high-performance systems such as military, wireline communications and cloud networking.

Intel has announced that it has reached an agreement with PLD (Programmable logic device) manufacturer Altera to product FPGAs (Field-programmable gate array) on Intel's 14 nm tri-gate transistor technology. According to the announcement, these next generation products will enable breakthrough levels of performance and power efficiencies not otherwise possible and further the company's ability to deliver on the promise of silicon convergence by delivering a more flexible and economical alternative to traditional ASICs and ASSP."

2640  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: The bASIC Refund Tracking Thread on: February 27, 2013, 01:08:55 AM
I for one appreciate the update. The project was ambitious at best. Those that were interested in the success of this project had placed their orders with you. The success of the previous project speaks for itself. I would have waited till the end of March. It's just too bad that we did not receive pertinent details on the status of the project.

Most of us recognize that family has its own challenges. Most of us have similar challenges that occupy our day.

I am probably one of the few to have not formally requested a refund for the orders I had placed.

I am of the opinion that having a greater variety of hardware vendors and developers that simplify end user transactions will continue to propel the success of the Bitcoin project.

Therefore profit is not the only motivator that leads me to continue support of developers that attempt asic hardware manufacturing with the goal of making it available to the end user.
