Ok, so I have a small timetable here. I am planning on performing the hard fork at block 100000, which should occur on July 2nd.
With this fork I currently have it set to change difficulty adjustments to DGW3 which will readjust the diff every block which should allow for smoother block times. I have also lowered the block reward from 5000 MZC to 1000 MZC per block and modified the block halving to 950000 blocks, so the blocks won't halve for approx 3.5 years. This puts us at 1.45 billion coins after 4 years and 2.34 Billion after 18 years. This means MZC created each year for the first 3.5 years after the fork will be around 237.5 Million a year.
To sum up: After block 100,000 DGW3 Diff recalc every block 1000 MZC reward per block 950,000 block halving intervals
We still have some time before this goes into affect and I will push the code and get the wallets compiled next week. If you have any comments about this fork we will be taking comments until 6/23, after that no further comments will be considered for this code push.
After this fork, we will work on implementing merged mining at a later date. With the difficulty changes needed desperately to help the flow of the block chain I didn't want to delay this fork to get merged mining working.
Excellent news. I stand behind Mazacoin. Is the code for the new fork already at github? Can you give me the url?

... as if holdings are unfrozen, but I haven't read anything about them unfreezing assets?
Me neither, I just logged in to check if something changed, and it still says: "Your account has frozen funds" Last (unrelated) announcement by vircurex was on 11th june.

Since all the sudden volume is coming from vircurex alone, I am not so sure what to think of it. http://coinmarketcap.com/volume.html#dvcI thought vircurex was near dead, they still owe a lot of people litecoins etc... still a lot of frozen accounts there. So I would be surprised if this isn't just a little market manipulation. The big devcoin price swing we had a few months ago was ALSO mostly vircurex. It has always been the exchange with the most devcoin volume.

GoldCoin Talent Contest
nice! Will take a look at it.

Those ppl wont make any money they are impatient
Patience is key. There is nothing like the price increase coming from a wider adoptionrate... Everything else is daytrader masturbation, nothing I want to involve myself in.

Can someone give me an update?
Is a fork planned in the future? Or is this just a rumour.
Why the need for a fork? Forks are a bad idea, unless there is a grave error in the coin.

It's time to clean up and be professional... (posted in several forums) Agreed. This alt scene reminds me of world war z where the zombies are piling against the huge wall, climbing higher and higher, yet pulling each other back. Eventually they make it but look how many zombies it takes. We aren't dead yet so surely we can be a little more civilized in this space. This is actually a very brilliant visualization. I will try and create a meme out of this. Plus: On top of the wall there is bitcoin, alone, ... shining bright.

I don't understand some people. No one would point at a four year old child and say: "is it still alive?" Do you judge a toddler for not being able to walk yet? Oh look, it can't walk yet, why is it still alive? All cryptocurrencies are so young, they have barely broken up the eggshell... ...must be the daytrader mentality that makes people think a week is as long as a year! "Why doesn't the price rise 20x again? Why no movement? Is it dead? Is it still alive?"

Yes, I agree with you guys. It was just a thought experiment. It is possible that devcoin reaches a high pricelevel without big trading volume (no more dumping, many people holding the coin longterm) and it's also possible that devcoin has a low pricelevel with large trading volume. (everybody basically just trying to get rid of the "hot potato" nobody wants) And all other combinations are also possible: higher pricelevel + big volume. (mania, devcoin recognized as big player.) lower pricelevel + low volume (worst case, no activity, except us ... basically what we have now.)

holy moly kumbaya... 4 blocks within 12 hours?

Thank you koi, for yet another block. You deserve your own meme:
|
|

Thanks Koi for finding the latest block Now if I can only find my first block +1, finally. I already feared this would become another one of those blockless days.

I had to create a meme to process what happened today: Hope it makes someone smile.

I suggested a merge mined private clone of Darkcoin for testing purposes only, no value, no exchanges, etc., before commit to Darkcoin.
Response...that is what testnet is for.
That is actually a very good idea... but people are not gonna mine the coin if it has no value at all. To be a perfect testing ground it SHOULD have value, and be on exchanges etc...

This makes me sad, why invest with money you cannot afford to lose? Quit being a loser and save some money first for investment!
+1, or get a better job, or lower your expenses etc.. it's very irresponsible to bet with your livelihood. Sometimes you gotta grab opportunity by the balls. The safe bet is rarely a major payoff. I applaud someone who takes an aggressive risk. I was homeless when I bought BTC at $4. The money I spent on that served me much better than paying rent. It's also the same money I've invested in DRK. My DRK investment now stands at 7 digits. Original investment was under $500 while I was homeless. I leveraged the power of the very same entitled trash that voted me into homelessness; stupid people. It's entirely reasonable to say that RC3 could still happen today. I learned that life is full of surprises and opportunities, if you are patient enough, and keep on investing small but regularly, someday a major payoff will come. It will come eventually. But if you go all in all the time, you run the risk of losing very badly. Horrificly, so that you get fucked up beyond repair. One bad bet can ruin your life and throw you back 20 years. I like risk, but why have MORE RISK then necessary? I like to have a backup plan you know. If a backup is good for my wallet, it is also good for my investment plan. ;-)

Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me.
FORKED! more forks coming. what a shame. But what does forking have to do with fooling you? I don't get it. If more forks are necessary, so be it.

Is it still true that we have about 7.2 million new devcoin being created every day? This will never change since devcoin doesn't have blockhalving etc, right?
So to keep the price at 10 satoshi we need a buying power of 0.72 BTC every day to compensate for the selling pressure.
This also means that to keep the price at 100 satoshi we would need 7.2 BTC, etc...

This is the biggest plunge of price which I have ever seen in my life ... The problem is that I am watching how I am loosing thousand of dollars just in a minutes ...
Well, how does the saying go: You win some, you lose some. Easy come, easy go. Or my favorite: After the gathering comes the scattering.

Those who panic-reverted are causing more problems on the network now than all of the bad actor/outdated nodes...
