I am not into chit-chat, but I'd like to have something to say. Right now I'd like to start a topic in the alternate cryptocurrencies section, but can't. I lurk a lot, all the time on my phone almost and could have something to say, really - to those topics that matter to me. I just don't have the time to get 100 posts or how many it has to be to be able to post. I thought 5 will suffice, it didn't. I've been watching Bitcoin before Silkk Road came but forums just aren't my thing.
It is 5 posts, but it takes a few minutes for the automatic script to change your account. You should be able to post by now, if not pm me (or theymos). |

Are people really that lazy? They can't be bothered to change their notification settings so they just post "subscribed" everywhere. It does get kinda annoying...  You missed the entire point, there is no "setting" to change to accomplish the same thing that posting in a thread does. They want it to be added to a watchlist like " Show new replies to your posts", notifications only send you emails which is largely useless. This has been covered a couple times in this thread already, but guess you're too busy posting in threads to read them. Even says it in the OP It seems that people use these "subscribe" one-liners rather than click notify because threads flagged via the latter mechanism don't show up under "Show new replies to your post." |

Also I think it would be a good idea to allow people out of newbie jail before the 4 hours is up by a small donation (~1 BTC)
I'll whitelist people for donations.  Actually having bitcoins, and being willing to pay to bypass the restrictions is just as good a yardstick as a few posts and some time spent online. |

"Subbing" threads is the only way to add it to the watchlist and be notified of new replies. This one. Notify is useless as it just sends you emails. Just people making the best they can of shortcomings in the forum. |

When I say ignore the trolls, I don't mean constantly respond to them just to say you're ignoring them.
It's a curious thing really. When someone knows you are ignoring them, yet they continue to post. I can't decide if it's because they don't understand that I am not reading their comments or because they hope deep down in their hearts out of their weird infatuation with me that I will hit the unignore button after they have posted significantly enough. You sure showed those guys.  |
