2701  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Urgent!!Urgent!! help needed bitcoin not recognizing bitcoin.conf on: July 26, 2013, 07:06:53 AM
I have created bitcoin.conf but i have to write in it? they says you must have to put rpcpassword!!

Yes, it's asking you to set a password for the daemon.

I would feel very reluctant sending any of my coins to this lottery site of yours. Actually I wouldn't to be fair.
2702  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Urgent!!Urgent!! help needed bitcoin not recognizing bitcoin.conf on: July 25, 2013, 12:15:07 PM

i want to start bitcoin lottery site and i am in serious trouble..

i am failed to create bitcoin.conf when i open bitcoind it says "You must setup an rpc password in configuration file and bitcoin.conf file not found make a bitcoin.conf file and give read only permission"

what can i do i am in serious problem!!!

reply me fast!!!
your cooperation will be appreciated

Follow the advice it gives you. Create a bitcoin.conf in the location it tells you, with the config lines it's telling you.

This is level 1 stuff. Do you feel competent enough to be creating a bitcoin lottery site and taking other peoples coins?

I'd like to shoot some of these alt-coins off into space. Preferably plotted on a direct course towards the sun.

It is not like we did not have any possibility to face a Trendon Shavers on the street and confront him. Nothing like that happened...

How do you know nothing like that happened then? Are you pirate or a close friend?

10 coins as a choice is a little over optimistic I'd say.

2708  Economy / Lending / Re: Can someone please loan me $800 for a computer? on: July 23, 2013, 02:40:58 PM
Why does it have to be a brand new laptop? What's wrong with a second-hand one?

He was talking about craigslist so I guess he wants a second hand one.

Guess so.

$800 for a second-hand laptop? Thank god I never went down the Apple path, if that's the going rate.

People actually still PAY for porn? How prehistoric.
You sir have no idea how much money such things earn.
@site  Cheesy Cheesy

Sounds like you spend a lot on porn then.
I do my fair share of research and earn money from niche.
Please educate yourself more before you start talking nonsense.

What's the transaction ID, so we can have a look?

Did you attach the correct fee to the transaction?

Good idea. supposedly it was 7 million and reserved for use in a mixer that never got built so it shouldn't really have gone much of anywhere yet.

-MarkM-

The block reward at block 1 was 7769999.00000000 TBX, then continues with 25.00000000 TBX for each block after that.

Interestingly block 0 had 50.00000000 TBX as the reward. I assume this was a developer oversight not changed from the original Bitcoin code. Block 0 is unspendable, the same as the Bitcoin blockchain, so I guess it doesn't matter.

The coinbase for the genesis block is:
04ffff001d01044c69224966206120746563686e6f6c6f676963616c206665617420697320706f7 37369626c652c206d616e2077696c6c20646f2069742e20416c6d6f737420617320696620697427 7320776972656420696e746f2074686520636f7265206f66206f7572206265696e6722

convert this hex to ascii translates to:

"If a technological feat is possible, man will do it. Almost as if it's wired into the core of our being"
2718  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Hey guys, remember Tenebrix? on: July 16, 2013, 10:45:36 AM
Primecoin wasn't premined and that seems to have plenty of traction. Premines generally leave a bad taste in people mouths.

I wanted a block explorer to analyse the blockchain to see where the millions of premines from block 1 have ended up. It shouldn't be too hard to pull the data from the daemon into PostgreSQL or MySQL. I'll have a try myself. Should be a good learning exercise.
2719  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Hey guys, remember Tenebrix? on: July 16, 2013, 07:44:35 AM
Does anyone know if there is still a visual block explorer for Tenebrix?
2720  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: {ANN} Cloudcoin CDC Prerelease Announcement - POS/POW Scheme on: July 16, 2013, 04:15:16 AM
There is absolutely no need what so ever for another SCRYPT altcoin. I wish GPU miners would just fucking get over it and stop releasing crap just to make a buck. Are we past the magic 50 when it comes to pointless copy paste shitprojects yet?

Sometimes I wish that after the creation of the first ford car, no other car companies had developed. It would have been much better for everybody.

Would be less cars on the road.

Also future car companies are supposed to fix the flaws of the previous ones. I fail to see what niche your coin will fill or flaws it will fix.

In the case of cryptos the coins themselves are nothing and they can provide nothing new for a normal user like you and me. The services are the differences which these coins will have. Open your eyes guys don't stick with BTC and LTC only.

Please provide an example of a service that cannot be ported to BTC and/or LTC?
