2761  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: A reminder about the media on: November 24, 2022, 02:06:47 PM
Media has both down and up sides. If good news would be caught by the media, then expect that it would be passed to more people creating a bigger and longer wave for the market value of cryptos. But also its counterpart with issues which often causes worry especially to those who are not knowledgeable enough. New investors are highly and could be easily persuaded. A normal reaction given that it is money we are talking about. But for the same reason, people should know more about their investment to not be carried away into the cliff one day.

We should follow media, but yes follow only legitimate news source or medias. We should strictly avoid the media who just fuses up everything in the sake of clickbait and hence it makes our moral down. We are the Gen Z people, we know how the world works. So definitely when we talk about Bitcoins and investments, we are well aware of all the situations. This bear market will soon end. So instead of panicking, think wisely and buy Bitcoins in this low price. This is the best thing one should do.
Not always the good part of your investment. One should also know its downsides in order to be prepared for it. If an investor would only eye in the profit, then expect a shocking scenario given how volatile the market is.
2762  Economy / Speculation / Re: What are the chances of FTX raising funds... on: November 24, 2022, 01:45:10 PM
It could still recieve support from its users especially those who were in that exchange for years. But unfortunately it won't be the same, obviously. What happened is still fresh and things might go the opposite such that just wasting time and money without people actually being one with them. A sincere apology would be first acknowledged if they are really regretting what happened. But if sincerity won't be seen, they should not waste effort of raising funds 'coz that won't work for sure.

The price of FTX continues to decline and is likely to be below $ 0 in December, FTX must immediately look for large investors who can restore investor confidence, Luna is trying to rise even though it is still very difficult to recover, but top exchanges with millions of users should be easier to find investors so that market can rising again.
means one thing , that these 2 projects will never get to top again and after what happened? do we really expect this to return like there is nothing happened about scam?
lol this will die like what LUNA is tempting now.
I hate seeing such kind of expectation in this way because scam project must not be recovered .
Such scheme is present to many projects. To mention a few I know; cryptoblades, defipet (well yeah, I've witnessed it more on p2e era) wherein on the downfall of the game they will be tempting players for hope that the project will again rise . But things just continue like a cycle.
2763  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will the Government use the Blockchain as a tool for control? on: November 24, 2022, 12:33:24 PM
Control of what?
Also, if they cannot put under their power cryptocurrencies since it is naturally decentralized, then how come?Governments are also interested in this technology because they are wanting to tax every transaction given that the impression of being profitable, is known on their end.
Blockchain would be used in any financial system, whether government or private. But they will make things centralized. Bitcoin is illegal in my country, but a few financial institutions use it, though not directly through the government. Of course, they are a centralized organization that controls their financial system. So, yes, they are using Blockchain as a control tool.
You might be referring to third party wallets or applications. But on that sense, it is not completely under their control. If they are using blockchain as a control tool, why can't they directly regulate it? 'coz that would be impossible, atleast at the present, to happen.

I'd more view it as their way to adapt with this technology rather than aiming to put this technology under their power. It's been years or a decade for this technology but still, only few countries allowed it to be used as a mode of payment.
2764  Economy / Economics / Re: Corrupt people in crypto on: November 24, 2022, 08:40:46 AM

A lot of bad incidences happened in crypto community this year including:

1) FTX
2) Luna
3) Gemini Earn
4) Celcius
5) Voyager
6)BlockFi

All these incidences happened because of the greed of some people. It is important to control the entry of these kind of people as developers or people behind some new crypto projects. Otherwise people will have very less trust left on crypto in general and people will move to other alternatives. What do you think are the required steps to prevent these incidences from occurring in future ? Or are these unavoidable ?

I also feel the loss from Luna and FTX, I'm worried that FTX conditions can occur in other exchanges so as to make the market more drop, it is time for all information to be open, the concept of decentralization that makes us able to know the condition of the project and excahnges should make crypto a hope in the future .
It is never okay to generalize. There are good exchangers still, you just have to find the best one. Also, given that the issue is still recent, for sure exchangers would take extra caution with their action 'coz they might be tangled with FTX's case instead. Try to calm down, although what happened is unfortunate, it would be worse if you',d be worried that much. If it is really draining on your end, try to pull out your investments for now. Being worried is just fine, but everything that is too much would be bad for sure.

And actually cases like FTX have often occurred, we as investors must be vigilant and do not store too large assets in Exchanges because cases like this can be repeated at any time.

Not exactly the same as with FTX but the thing which is somehow close with what happened is rugpull of projects wherein developers chose to make use of the money and totally disregarded their users. But that's not often I think when it comes on exchangers.
2765  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Does MMA Have A Gambling Problem? on: November 24, 2022, 07:54:49 AM
"Manipulated" or 'Fixed-fighting' huh? It is not evident to most of the sports? As long as money is involved, everything is possible. There were matches wherein the results were proven to be manipulated or the outcome is planned between the two players. There's also this idea of 'mafia intervention' right? I doubt. That's just how powerful money. If 'huge' people will be interested and will be that thrilled to win, they could really pay the players to 'move'.

OP's post is a bit confusing. Is it the existence of gambling in MMA, you are trying to ask or mma players to gamble? if it is the first one, then that existed for decades already in different forms. While for the second instance, players would be able to gamble if they'd make it right. They may use people to bet for them as easy as that. Maybe not in pro boxing given that their profession is already compensating, but with small tournaments, such thing is really happening.
2766  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Promotion and Adoption in my locality on: November 23, 2022, 10:48:24 PM
I like this one OP accepting Bitcoin is one of the ways to encourage people to an actually see Crypto-currency as usable and not just an investment property. You can also motivate others to start this process too.

But it's not just going to end by you accepting Bitcoin alone, I believe you know some of your patronizers you can start by telling them about Bitcoin. You can mostly based on what challenges they face right now in Crypto-currency.

You are right. I actually did after reaching out to him and teaching him, I also encouraged him to also reach out to other fellow colleagues of his too and also as many customers that asks him about it in his shop, he should teach them as I have done to him so they could understand. You know, their shops are mostly filled with youths most times which will definitely attract their attention to the new development in his shop leading them to asking him questions about it.
I was really amazed at the hard work you've made in promoting Bitcoin in your community. Apparently, it needs someone or a group of people to help spread and educate them about Bitcoin. Because I've noticed that many people heard about Bitcoin as a currency but never have an idea how to do it due to a lack of education. Even for me, if I'm running a business I shouldn't care about accepting Bitcoin because I don't know about it.
What I see is that people needs proper Bitcoin education first and adoption will then to follow faster.
Actually many people are aware of what Bitcoin is but were left with misinformation such as easy money, risky investment, fraud and such without even checking what it really is. For us in this industry, it is oroginally an alternative currency to be used on daily transactions but since its market price is volatile, people took advantage of it and saw its potential of becoming a profitable asset. Problem here is that, "non-crypto " people only sees it being profitable but not with the high risk involved from doing so. They are often having high expectations and when instability occurs, they are throwing scam acusations and such. Sharing its true nature might help to those aspiring crypto users in the future.
2767  Economy / Speculation / Re: How low will BTC's market price go? on: November 23, 2022, 09:49:17 PM
Some people say that it could go low as $13k while some says it would be at its bottom at $14k. Fact here is no one really knows. But higher tendence to happen is that market behavior could stay at its present state for more months given that there are still no 'event' which could hype up this industry.
This year has been full of catastrophes for the crypto/Blockchain industry. First it was the Russo-Ukraine war, then the Terra/LUNA implosion, and most recently, the FTX collapse. All of this had severely affected Bitcoin's market price.
Do not forget that after Russia invasion, bitcoin price fall below $38000, but increased back the same day and a bull run started for like a week and bitcoin price increased above $48000. All that could happen during war like that is the citizens of the countries that are affected to buy bitcoin at premium price. What really affected crypto price downtrend was because:

  • this year supposed to be bearish
  • the Luna and UST scam
  • the FTX money mismanagement

The pioneer cryptocurrency used to trade between $20k - $25k, but now it's trading at $16k - $15k per coin. I know investing in Bitcoin is

It indicates an opportunity to buy.

for the long haul, but I'm curious how low its price will go before bouncing all the way back up again? Some people say Bitcoin will go lower than current market prices as the effects of the FTX collapse haven't materialized yet. There are many companies and projects (like Solana) which had investments on FTX, so it's likely BTC will see more pain ahead before the dust settles.

What would be your predictions? Your input will be greatly appreciated. Thank you. Smiley

We are not God or extraterrestrial being that could foresee the future, no one knows what the lowest price would be, but when the bull market will start, many people that do not buy now may miss it, that is why it is good to make use of DCA to invest on bitcoin now.
Foreseeing is impossible especially to such assets having too volatile market price. Unlike with gold and ither assets which are continuously rising over years. In this industry, not only with Butcoin, there are just seasons or periods wherein the demand increases continuously but also periods wherein it is low such as with the present, caused by factors.
2768  Other / Off-topic / Re: Do you agree that an employer should hire employees who are smarter than him? on: November 23, 2022, 02:50:12 PM
On my end, yes. Not because you are the employer means you know it all. That is why there are different positions on the company; skills fit position. Employers' task is to hire people who would perform best for the company not someone who'd be an underling for the employer. Well, considering different jobs wherein employer is also the owner of the business. Still, hiring someone who's better than you doesn't mean that they will replace you, rather, they would perform better for your company. Definitely a win-win situation IF you'd be able to hire him. Given the instance that he's smarter than you, you have to make things fair on his side in order to get him right? Then that would be more of a problem than to gauge whether to hire someone or not just because he exceeds your talent. That's pride if you won't.
2769  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Imagine the condition of people today if they had invested on Bitcoin in 2015 on: November 23, 2022, 02:33:48 PM
It is not as easy as it sounds. Buying at the early stage won't guarantee you profit. Why? How would you even hold your Bitcoin knowing that are many times it has reached its 'peak'. Won't you be tempted? Indeed there are people who managed to do so but keep in mind the some of those investors forgotten their asset so that won't count in my opinion. There are even stories such as the man who swapped Bitcoins to a box of pizza. That's how hopeless before for this industry. There are only few people who really seen the potential of this industry at its early age, 'coz if there are many, how come that only a few are holding huge amount of BTCs on their wallet and most of them are whales or simply rich in the first place.
2770  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: New play to earn games that actaully earn you coins on: November 23, 2022, 01:57:12 PM
Cryptoblades, defipet, Alienworlds, pegaxy, that 'dragon' thing. LOL I forgot the exact names, and axie infinity ofcourse which gave a lot of money to their player with or withiut investments. It's an ended era I guess although there are still ones which are still profitable but I gave up on nfts . I realized lately that in terms of profit, trading and investing to projects are more profitable. But when it comes on enjoyment, I'd go with gambling. Eitherway, risks are involved; that's just how this industry works. Another realization is that, there are really many ways to earn from this technology in general you just have to explore.
2771  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why are some government scared of Bitcoin? on: November 23, 2022, 12:42:24 PM
I'm not an economist, but i guess the biggest factor why they are scared is the lack of control...

That's simply it. But I doubt they are scared of it. Governments are just being cautious 'coz they won't be able to tax every transaction if efer they will adapt such technology. I said they are not afraid simply because there are already countries wherein Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies are widely being accepted as a mode of payment and aforementioned reason might be why there are countries wherein it is still not yet. Observe how this technology is allowed in countries, but are not that supported unless if it is thru third party apps. Another factor is volatility wherein they might be worried people who are negligent, would complain about profit loss, and they could take the blame if they're about to support it. Last thing I guess is lack if assurance with this technology in general.
2772  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [world cup] November 23 Schedule, Croatia, Germany, Spain, and Belgium. on: November 23, 2022, 10:46:28 AM
This is my bet in this day:

Draw (Croatia vs Morocco)
Germany to win (Germany vs Japan)
Spain to win (Spain vs Costa Rica)
Belgium to win (Belgium vs Canada)

To be honest looking from the odds between Spain vs Costa Rica is really remind me with yesterday where Saudi Arabia odds is @21.00 pretty similar with Costa Rica odds @20.00. I don't think miracle can happen on this day, but if Costa Rica can win, next match I will bet on huge underdog team lol.

I think Costa Rica has a chance against Spain. They've been good on their previous inspite of being an underdog to both and upcoming matches. Speaking of which, underdogs do not always lose but it is just that it is more frequent to dominant teams to win which create a bigger impact to the audiences when the least expected teams won. But on my end, I like its idea. It somehow remind the fans that sports is indeed like a round ball; time for ups and as well as downs. But for this industry, there are players who are more into underdog teams simply because the profit is bigger due to odds difference.

But for some reason I am excited with match between belgium and canada. I'm not fammiliar with them that muh so I might do a bit scouting since I'm still young in this sports industry. Let us all enjoy watching!
2773  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Qatar bribed 8 players from Ecuador for the opening match on: November 23, 2022, 10:13:09 AM
There are just unfortunate seasons for our favorite teams including by chance fortune and manipulated. I am hearing a lot recently about the league wherein they've really expected their teams to move on the next stage but emded up losing with an underdog team. I can relate even if I'm into a different sports. Maybe such thing could occur in any league. That's a part of it even if it would seem not to, 'coz of allegations. But as others are saying, it would be more impossible to reset the game. The results are final and we need to accept it even if it is hard. There will be another seasons or league for our biases and we just have to be patient as their fan.
2774  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Buy Bitcoin before the banks and governments do on: November 23, 2022, 08:47:12 AM
Alike with the idea of centralization? that won't be as easy as that. If ever governments are about to buy Bitcoin, then they would be investors, which makes it impossible. Their only goal is to tax transactions which are more likely through third party wallets, apps, or even exchangers. Governments who'd buy cryptocurrencies will be in huge loss and the point of doing so is just weird. Unstable market value, decentralized nature; being untaxable if by direct transactions,; which are characteristics they won't like, I guess. To countries wherein cryptocurrencies are being widely used, they did not need doing such thing to adapt this technology.
2775  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing: Artur Beterbiev vs Anthony Yarde on: November 23, 2022, 02:25:54 AM
Artur Beterbiev is the reason why the supposed fight against Anthony Yarde last August was not pushed through.

What's the status of Beterbiev regarding that injury? Since this fight becomes official, of course, he is cleared to fight but I'm sure that injury might still give an effect and change his performance even slightly.

This will be Yarde's biggest break in his career although Beterbiev is really a tough boxer to beat.
Yes, he is recovering from his injury but he should be ready with the Yarde fight and no more delays. Yarde also take a tune up fight and win comfortably with a knockout. And so is he really prepared for a Beterviev fight.

For sure fighting in front of his fans, Yarde will have some kind of momentum, nevertheless, I don't see any upset in the making here. Beterviev might have some ring rust, but when he shakes it out, Yarde could be in trouble.
As other users here have mentioned, he won't be allowed to fight if it is lethal the night they will fight. Also, Beterbiev has nothing to prove towards Yarde so for sure he won't sacrifice his own self (condition) if it will affect his career for a long time. Artur is a beast; even if he only has 18 fights in his weight class, he dominated with winning only by means of TKO/KO which is difficult to achieve if you are an average boxer.

I'm definitely betting for him on this one. Although Yarde is the underdog, ofcourse he won't be on his place if he's just a nobody. I don't know, but it seems that this would be a one sided match but hoping for the best for these two.
2776  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Will there ever be any safe centralised exchange ? on: November 22, 2022, 10:59:51 PM
There are considered safe exchangers but it will never be good to be so relaxed. That is your money in the first place so you have to take extra caution with where you are putting your money with. Much better to prevent it early than to regret it sooner. Even Binance, despite of having good reputation, has flaws, but ofcourse if we would compare it to what happened with the recent issue, it would be a better exchanger. But that won't save Binance to a better place because such thing could also happen if ever owners won't br also responsible and will be negligent with daily transactions and their reserves. But since it is still a good one, atleast save yourself from worrying that much.
2777  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will digital dollar be a threat to bitcoin? on: November 22, 2022, 03:17:52 PM
Not even an inch. Threat for what? For allowing people to convert their assets and make use of it simply because this technology is still not widely accepted across countries? nah.
Digital dollars are designed to be controlled by the government but that’s not the case with bitcoins.
Bitcoin has its own supremacy. I don’t think the digital dollar will do any harm to them.
The U.S. dollar is completely centralized. Centralization may have some impact on Bitcoin in the short term, but it cannot be affected in the long run. The more you block BTC, the more people will pay attention to BTC.
How would centralisation of a fiat currency will even affect Bitcoin? Im confused. In short term? on what sense? Cryptocurrencies and fiat such as USD has no effect with one another. They are just interchangeable if an investor would like to liquidate an amount of his asset. Even the market prices of cryptos are still based with fiat but a sudden fall on the value of one, won't result to a change with other one's market price.
2778  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is gambling unethical? on: November 22, 2022, 02:42:48 PM
Depends on your view. How do you view ethics?

Gambling, if it would be based on religious beliefs, ofcourse it would be wrong.
If it would be based on laws, there are limitations wherein to some countries it is totally prohibited, while to some it is regulated and remaing countries wherein it is completely legal.

The thing that makes gambling bad is the idea and its manifestation; greed, frustrations, taking advantage of others and more. But we have different ways to view this activity. Some engages to this activity to kill time, earn profit, and such. So maybe it has something to do as well with one's motives?
2779  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: I Am So Done With Betting Until.... on: November 22, 2022, 02:15:39 PM
I think I am one of the unluckiest gambler/bettor out here, today is one of my worst days again and I think I should quit betting.

I went all in on Argentina thinking their match against Saudi Arabia would be an easy win for them, and the fact that the odds were so far away against Saudi Arabia winning while it was in huge favor of Argentina caused me to be so sure that Argentina was going to win the match, and then, I went all in, hoping to make some big wins just like yesterday, but now, everything is gone, in just a twinkle of an eye...
Argentina is a big disappointment, It's still hard to believe, I quit betting until I am able to forget this experience entirely.
You've made two mistakes; betting all in and depending too much on gambling. No matter how obvioud the advantage is, on your bet, it will always be better to bet an amount that you can endure losing. It might be at the edge but this is gambling man; anything can happen, such as the unexpected. Also, I think you are hoping that much to win big time (well not to be a hypocrite, for sure many gamblers as well but to be that upset is something). It is okay to hope for a better outcome, we all do. But always have a plan B. Bet only without expectations that it will make you rich. Bet because you just want to win. The higher your expectations are, the bigger its impact on your end. Much better to just play it safely. Rest if you need it, come back if you still want to.
2780  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Online blackjack scam! on: November 22, 2022, 10:06:25 AM
But you have to show proof if you are really that decided and if you're sure that they are really cheating. Bottomline is, we are in online platform so that would be hard unless they made a mistake which showed their 'trick'. Some people will even say that you just cannot accept losing. Well it is a part of the game but you'd know if there is really something wrong from the game. My take on this is leaving from a specific gambling site but if same things would happen over different gambling platforms, maybe it is not just your day or the game itself is not for you. Choose something that you would enjoy playing. Or even try playing other games if you are having a feeling of being cheated to somehow ease your mood. With regards to the video, but given that no names were dropped, they won't be able to defend themselves if they are really caught, so it is hard to validate that one.
