281  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Forager 1.0 - Multi-Pool profit switching multi-miner (AMD/NVIDIA/CPU) on: May 03, 2018, 09:40:28 PM
Forager reports that zpool does not support ZCL payments. But it does Cheesy
Right... They changed it's status, so it's not showing

Quick fix would be to just add it on line $82, or comment the Exit on line #86 in Zpool.ps1
I'll think of a better validation, or just trust the user...

edit: disabled validation in master branch

Added miner to Forager - automatic profit switching miner with MSI Afterburner integration

thanks bro, not a shameless ad, mining tools and miners work together Wink
i'll add a ref to your tool next time i update the doc Wink

Cheers Wink
If you also add API, would be great. It would add the ability to properly benchmark and monitor the miner.
Or as a simple solution, since I'm basically capturing output to detect hash rate - to show it more often (or add a switch that does that)

287  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / [Forager] v20.04 - Profit switching miner (AMD/NVIDIA/CPU) Windows/Linux! on: May 03, 2018, 07:47:20 PM
Forager is an advanced open source multi-pool / multi-algo profit switching miner

It will use profit information from supporting pools to make sure you mine the most profitable algorithm at all times.
You can also use WhatToMine and CoinCalculators virtual pools for profit data and mine to pools which dont provide profit information, or even your custom pools.

Using integration with MSI Afterburner, it will get real time power usage and use this information to calculate how much you pay and adjust the profitability data.

Notes:

- Recommended drivers for AMD - 18.3.4/18.6.1.
you can use https://forums.guru3d.com/threads/atic-install-tool-radeon-drivers-download-utility.422576/ to easily find and download specific driver version

- Recommended drivers for NVIDIA on Win 10 - 411.31+ for CUDA 10.
- Recommended drivers for NVIDIA on Win 10 - 398.+ for CUDA 9.2
- Recommended drivers for NVIDIA on Win 7 - 390.65-391.01

- Latest PowerShell core recommended for compatibility/performance: https://github.com/PowerShell/PowerShell/releases

- Windows 7 will require PowerShell v5 or PowerShell Core installed: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=54616

- Recommended MSI Afterburner version is 4.5.0 or newer
prior versions don't support Intel CPU power usage and may not fully support your GPU

- Avermore and Sgminer X16r/X16s (AMD) during benchmarking submit "fake" shares that get rejected by the pools.
Ignore this and after benchmarking it will work normally.

- XMR-Stak (AMD and NVIDIA) doesn't support multiple groups per GPU Vendor (2+ AMD or NVIDIA) out of the box.
Of first run it will create "GroupName-Algorithm.txt" files for each group that you can edit once to include only the relevant GPUs.

Mixed rigs (AMD+NVIDIA) may have problems selecting specific devices. Use at your own risk.

Disclaimer:
The miners used in Forager come from reasonably reputable sources and tested by community.
There is SHA256 validation for miner downloads to make sure they are not replaced by fake ones.
However, I do not take any responsibility if any of the miners contains harmful code.
Therefore, NEVER keep coin wallets or other sensitive information on the computer you run Forager on.
If you get hacked, loose your coins, burn you video card or cpu, get your personal photos stolen or your cat poisoned - it's your fault.

this have claymore source in it i found it. it a timebomb that will mess with Gpu voltage to Blowed it
there is no phoenix, this was made by claymore to further his Strength in claymore miner monopoly.
after he explode all gpu, no one will ever use any other miner but claymore.

i will release my proof in 48 hours.

No no no, it's the Russian Federal Security service planted a hidden virus to get rid of western capitalist miners!

I will not release a proof because I'm afraid of the Russian government!
289  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Claymore CPU miner; Setting Affinity on: May 02, 2018, 05:51:36 AM
you can set affinity for any process on windows using START command:

Code:
start /affinity 1 app.exe     (only use CPU 0)
start /affinity 2 app.exe     (only use CPU 1)
start /affinity 1F app.exe    (only use CPUs 0, 1, 2, 3, and 4)

And I'm already on Windows 10 April update, so it's not incompatibility with older windows, it's the driver
292  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN]: cpuminer-opt v3.8.8, open source optimized multi-algo CPU miner on: April 27, 2018, 08:33:47 AM
Joblo I got a question. (or anyone that could)

I just changed my ram from 3200 (Only able to run 2666Mhz, it is dual rank ram) 16-18-18 to 3200 14-14-14 Samsung B-Die to be able to run full speed of 3200 on Ryzen...

I mine YescryptR32 or R16. On R32 I get speeds of 585H/s with the 2666 CL16 vs 450H/s with the 3200 CL14...
I read it could be that this algo has memory requirements... but can't get any more info than this...

Do you know?

If I understand correctly, you went from dual channel memory to single.
Math would say that the throughput is now (3200 / 2666 / 2) ~= 60% of the original, so the more memory dependent the algo, the more speed you loose

You can also take a look at the CPU load/temps/power consumption, if it is lower that it was before, this means that you dont have enough memory bandwidth to feed cpu with enough work

Yescrypt algo is bandwidth hard, since it performs memory lookups

If interested, see more in the whitepaper https://password-hashing.net/submissions/specs/yescrypt-v2.pdf

DDU 1st is always better for a clean removal.

I you use custom bioses, don't forget to patch the 18.3.4 driver before the reboot.
Drivers 18.x.x don't need patch. AMD removed check mod bios. I'm use RX 580 8Gb and didn't patch drivers from 17.12.x when AMD was removed mod bios protection... All my 580 cards use modded bioses.

RX580 is not checked, but RX480 is, and needs the patch

Hi Brian,
Great miner.

Question, What does the -w 64 command do?  Should we be adjusting this or do you have guidelines on how to adjust it for max hash rate?

Thanks

its worksize, and and it might give you different results with different numbers (can try 128 / 256), but in general 64 usually works best for most algos on amd
295  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: SibCoin Mining Software with Low CUDA - help on: April 25, 2018, 02:24:52 PM
I have NVidia GeForce GTx930M, which has only CUDA 5, so CCminer doesn't work. Al SgMiner files get deleted by antivirus each time I try to download them. What should I mine SibCoin with then?

Don't waste your time, x11gost is now an ASIC algo

I am not sure what it means for me. That there is a new algorithm to mine with? Anyway, what can I mine with low CUDA version in general?

Sibcoin uses x11gost algo and that algo is now available on ASICs, making it unprofitable on GPUs.

Regarding what to mine on that GPU, its probably "nothing". You can possibly mine a few cents per day, but you will fry your laptop in the way, which will cost more that not mining...
296  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Avermore miner - optimized sgminer (AMD) fork for x16r/x16s/xevan(beta) on: April 25, 2018, 07:59:59 AM
strange, but I actually get lower rates with 1.2 on RX480 8G with Uber 3.1 mem timings
(running with  -g 2 -w 64 -X 256 --benchmark)

X16r    Avermore-1.1    8.4 mh
X16r    Avermore-1.2    7.743 mh

X16s    Avermore-1.1    8.366 mh
X16s    Avermore-1.2    7.711 mh

Interesting. Can you compare the Hamsi kernel hashrates between 1.1 and 1.2? (run with --benchmark-sequence=BBBBBBBBBBBBBBBB). It's possible some of the changes I made caused regressions in cards other than the RX580.

exits immediately when I use --benchmark-sequence=anything (even 0123456789ABCDEF) in both 1.1 and 1.2

edit:
I also noticed that I'm hitting the thermal card power limit and it starts throttling
in 1.1 the GPU clock gets throttled to ~1200Mhz and temperature stays around 80c, so it can probably reach even higher speeds with better cooling
in 1.2 the GPU clock is ~1300Mhz and temperature is ~75c

580 is basically the same card, with slightly higher clocks, so should perform similarly

CryptoNight-Heavy
Sumokoin (SUMO)
Haven (XHV)
~ 1500 k/h  ((((
2000k/h HuhHuh??
Help
It's CryptoNight-Heavy, hash rate will decrease.

Because of what less?

Cryptonight-Heavy uses more memory and needs to process more data, so it is slower than Cryptonight
Not always, 4ward.

RX580 8GB (at least Samsung ICs) can do ~1050H/s en Cryptonight/V7 and ~2100H/s+ in Cryptonight-Heavy. But I think it's an exception.

But yes, for Vega Cryptonight and V7 is faster.

I believe you have mixed up with Cryptonight-Lite

I happen have RX480 8G with Samsumg memory (with Uber 3.1 timings)
CN ~1030 h/s
CN-Heavy ~830 h/s
CN-Lite ~2090 h/s (Claymore miner)

Can probably squeeze a little more, but these are the general numbers
