Most of these tips are precautions. Just try to buy and sell from someone who has a good reputation and wants to maintain it.

More troubleshooting on the "no sound" problem.
I have two XP PCs. One has SwC sound and one does not have SwC sound. Other sounds work fine.
I used Windows Explorer (aka File Manager) to look at the installed files (C:\Program Files\swcpoker). The PC with SwC sound has a C:\Program Files\swcpoker\Sounds folder with WAV files in it. The PC with no SwC sound does not have a Sounds folder, and does not have the files. Uninstalled and installed. Still no folder and no WAV files.

How come you don't run .exe?
Security, peace of mind, holiness, sanity. I gave up on windows many years ago and I'm just not into tha proprietary stuff anymore. Long live free software! How is Flash less proprietary? Very good point. Flash Vulnerability by Type

My current SwC sound status
XP no sound Vista sound Win 7 sound
but even the XP machine had sound before the lastest major SwC software revision. My hypothesis is that it has more to do with support for the audio codec needed to play the sound files for check, bet, raise, etc.
I just went to the folder where the SwCPoker sounds are installed (for me it is C:\Program Files\SwCPoker\sounds ) and played the WAV files for call, check, etc. successfully. But this is on my Vista PC, so that is not surprising. I will eventually try this on my XP PC.
There are apparently many different flavors of the WAV file format.

Where is everyone playing at now?
I am waiting for SwCPoker.eu to re-open (hopefully today).

Changes to the Consumer Protection Act and laws governing gambling so that Internet service providers must block access to online gambling websites on a list of “illegal sites” created by Loto-Québechttp://montrealgazette.com/news/quebec/2015-quebec-budget-highlightsIf this idea spreads to other jurisdictions, we would need a TOR-like bouncing of the client-server communication so that blocking of the domain would not be effective. Would need to keep latency to a minimum.

Changes to the Consumer Protection Act and laws governing gambling so that Internet service providers must block access to online gambling websites on a list of “illegal sites” created by Loto-Québechttp://montrealgazette.com/news/quebec/2015-quebec-budget-highlightsPlease devote a few spare brain cells to a technical solution to this, in case the idea spreads to other jurisdictions. I would suggest a TOR-like bouncing of the client-server communication so that blocking of the domain would not be effective. Would need to keep latency to a minimum.

Honestly don't pay that guy a dime. Us players don't give a crap about a name on the table or a name of a domain. We just want to play poker run by trusted people.
Correct He has no use for the domain other than to try to extort money. If you want ideas for a different domain name, just let us know. We can send suggestions to you privately, so that assholes do not try to cybersquat any of the domain options. Your assets are - your reputation
- the players
- ST7
- your software
Anything else can be reincarnated. Don't waste time with this. You have bigger fish to fry. Get matching domains and use the .com (play money) to feed and promote the .eu (Bitcoin).

Here are some potential clues:
Updated SwC on Vista PC, rebooted, cannot log in. Updated SwC on XP PC, it did not ask for reboot, logged in sucessfully.
I also have Windows 7 and Windows 8 PCs.
First will uninstall and install SwC on Vista PC.

My suggested sequence would be - release Android app
- release Mac and Linux apps
- new account promotions (repeated and discussed in forum posts)
- -target Stars players *
- -target live players **
- -target Bitcoin users ***
* reward current Stars players who create a SwCPoker.eu account with the same user name, deposit Bitcoins, and play. Provide individual VIP assistance to them in the process, after they demonstrate ownership and control of the Stars account. This might create a buzz. Buzz is good. ** reward live players who create a SwCPoker.eu account, deposit Bitcoins, and play. Match deposits. Provide individual VIP assistance to them in the process. *** create frequent reminders in Bitcoin forums by rewarding qualifying forum posts and SwCPoker.eu banners by existing players (coordinated in private messages) Simultaneously conduct promotions for existing players that reward - raked play
- qualifying forum posts by existing players
- referrals that result in new accounts, deposits, and qualifying play
Leverage the promotional potential of existing players.

SwCPoker.eu has some no-rake tables. So it is player vs player and the house takes no cut from those tables.

Good ideas.
It might also help if promotions are announced about 1 week (or at least a few days) before they start, so that players have a chance to post about them in various internet forums.
Also, frequently publish news stories (here or on your blog) when various milestones are reached (number of players online, number of tables populated, largest pot size (and the low rake), worst play (the more of these the better), best bluff shown, largest buyin, largest cashout, best come-from-behind). The stories will be repeated and commented on by players in various forums. Deputize SwC players to make it happen. If you don't have time to write the stories, just post the raw data here (or somewhere) so that someone can write the stories.
How can we create an incentive for players from the major sites to try SwC with Bitcoins?
How can we create an incentive for live players to try SwC?

would be nice if there was some way to encourage playing currently...
The most effective program to encourage playing is to attract new players who will actually play, rather than wait for the next freeroll. Sources of new players who will play include - players from other internet poker sites who may appreciate low rake, anonymous poker
- people who already have Bitcoins but do not currently play internet poker
- live poker players
Getting someone from one of those groups to download the software, and try it with some chips, is the key ingredient. Freerolls are part of the big picture. The Affiliate program has a greater potential to give long-lasting incentives to SwCPoker players who find more players to play.
