Can this be run remotely?

By remotely you mean with a desktop remote connection? YES.

Which Linux tool would you recommend for that?

Do you recommend a particular Linux distro for your build?

Can I keep track of variables and trade based on them instead of trading based on indicators?

Can I make Ping-Pong trades?

Is there a demo or trial version available?

What exchanges would you want to connect to? NuBot has 20,000 lines of code for free. There is a bunch of things that are missing, but it's a start.

I'm looking to connect to Poloniex.  Since there seem to be several fully-featured bots available, I may as well try them out before I try to reinvent the wheel.

Are any of these considered more trustworthy than others?

Can anyone offer comparisons of these?  Haas seems geared toward trading according to indicators.  CAT might be ideal but I think it's distributed as a java binary so anything could be lurking in there.  Does Qt support alts?

Does this software support altcoins and the Poloniex exchange?

Watch out for Livecoin.net.  I signed up for an account today and deposited BTC and now they say that my withdrawals are disabled for 48 hours with no mention of this before depositing.  No response in chat.

EDIT: They made an exception for me.  Solid exchange.
296  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Livecoin.net holds withdrawals for 48 hours? on: January 06, 2016, 02:52:32 PM
This morning I signed up on Livecoin.net, deposited BTC, and enabled 2-factor authentication and was then presented with a message that said a change in security settings causes a 48-hour hold on withdrawals.  I was not warned about this whatsoever before I deposited BTC or enabled 2-factor.  There is no reason going from a disabled 2-factor to an enabled 2-factor should cause a security hold.  Is there anything I can do?

EDIT: They made an exception for me.  Much appreciated.
