281  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How to earn bitcoin dollars? on: August 31, 2016, 02:03:46 PM
Bitcoin is money. You earn it the same way you earn money with the only exception that you can mine it (with expenses).

About that bitmaker thing, it looks to me that it's an app that rewards you bitcoins for viewing ads. Don't know how much you get but most likely you'll get only few thousands satoshi per ad (not even close to about a cent).
282  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: help for canceling my zero fee transaction with 2.1 BTC... on: August 29, 2016, 06:55:46 PM
For CPFP you'll have to send the change output with higher fee. For RBF I'm not entirely sure (haven't tested) but there's someone have a tool for it on this thread.
AFAIK for CPFP you need to have a mining pool that has it implemented. I'm not aware of such (besides Eligius ?).

-snip-

After that you'll have to wait sometime for nodes to drop your transaction (takes a day or two) before sending again.
Wouldn't it be easier to import the private key into another wallet and attempt a double spend with a high fee? This should save time.

Yes the only pool that have implemented CPFP is eligius (AFAIK anyway). Importing the keys and attempting a double spend won't work if the transaction is still well propagated, but I just noticed that OP's tx is already poorly propagated so it should be fine sending with other wallet or not waiting using core.

Also there's another alternative method of contacting pool owners to get the tx included in a block.
283  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: help for canceling my zero fee transaction with 2.1 BTC... on: August 29, 2016, 03:59:16 PM
Thanks.. I am using bitcoin core 0.12... Can you give like for how to delete the  transaction ?

You can't cancel a transaction whenever you want. You can use RBF or CPFP, but cancelling is a no-no.

For CPFP you'll have to send the change output with higher fee. For RBF I'm not entirely sure (haven't tested) but there's someone have a tool for it on this thread.

Edit:
What wallet you're using? If you're using bitcoin core you can delete the transaction and wait till most of the network forgets about it before re-sending the transaction with higher fee.

Go to the console and enter abandontransaction txid (replace txid with your tx) or run bitcoin-qt.exe with -zapwallettexes command. First one doesn't work in some cases for some reason. For the second method, if you're using windows refer to this post. For linux/mac open the terminal/console and enter the same thing with only difference being the directory.

After that you'll have to wait sometime for nodes to drop your transaction (takes a day or two) before sending again.

285  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Someone told me HASHOCEAN is coming back on: August 28, 2016, 12:43:48 PM
Many of my clients and friend are telling that hashocean is coming back, this sounds weird but even if it comes will hashocean get back its trust, will you trust again ?

Returning after scamming? Unlikely. Trust them again without any refund? Very unlikely.
286  Other / MultiBit / Re: Multibit Classic - Quick question on back-up ?? on: August 28, 2016, 12:33:06 PM
Cheers starting to understand it a bit more now.

Seems a bit of pain to remove and add them back for every transaction (i do a lot).

You were correct about the 'my documents' folder, it contains a wallet.dat file !!!!!

Think i will just install Multibit HD and get a KeepKey, bit wary of using the chrome extension on it though.

Looks ike i can run both Multibit Classic and Multibit HD on the same pc.

I really appreciate your adivce.

Thanks

Err... Multibit doesn't use wallet.dat file format. If you can't open it using multibit then it must be a wallet file from another wallet. Bitcoin core/qt uses wallet.dat, not sure if there's any other wallet that uses it. If you can open it (or maybe you just typed wallet.dat out of habit) then that's fine.

You're welcome.
287  Other / MultiBit / Re: Multibit Classic - Quick question on back-up ?? on: August 27, 2016, 11:07:21 PM
Thanks, i am in the correct place place and i did mean open wallet. It is located at -

C>Users>Acer Black>Appdata>Roaming>Multibit>Untitled.wallet

Even though my one wallet has a title/name ?

I have just been saving the 'whole' Multibit folder to a couple of USB sticks....

My concerns are -

1. If my PC packs in and i install Mutibit Classic on a new PC there is NO guide on how to recover your wallet coins ?

2. My private key or are there keys ? Are still on my laptop and could be hacked !!!!!! Can i just delete them ?

I am seriously considering getting a KeepKey hardware wallet and upgrade to MultibitHD, but i think i will start another thread on that.

Cheers

1. The .wallet files have all your private keys and bitcoins. So if you'll be fine as long as you have saved them somewhere safe.

2. You can safely delete those files once you have copied them somewhere else. Of course this means that you'll have to copy them back if you want to use them again (or open them from your backup directory). Also multibit keeps its automatic backup inside the folders so if you want to delete all traces of your wallet you'll have to delete them too.

BTW in case you didn't catch it I've edited my post above while you were typing (the one about the documents folder).
288  Other / MultiBit / Re: Multibit Classic - Quick question on back-up ?? on: August 27, 2016, 10:27:29 PM
The 'add password' tab can not be selected as i have already added one years back.

If you can't pick 'add password', pick 'change password' instead. Both of them will bring up a window where you can see the wallet description and filename (and its location).

Quote
What wallet SHOULD i expect to see when i select 'Open Folder' ?

I don't know what 'Open Folder' you're referring to. If you mean 'Open Wallet' then you should see all your wallets (files with .wallet format).

Quote
I presumed all i had to do was select the 'multibit.wallet' ?

Any files with .wallet format, to be exact. multibit.wallet is just the default wallet multibit creates when you opened it for the first time, you can change it at anytime by renaming the file. untitled.wallet is the default name when you created a new wallet but didn't specify a name.

Edit:
I've found that the Open/New wallet option lands in the documents folder instead of appdata/roaming/multibit sometimes. You might want to check your documents folder for any .wallet files. It happened after I closed all wallets, but I think it can be caused by some other things because I first noticed it with all my wallets open.

So if my laptop (all i use) broke and i wanted to recover my wallet, do i just select 'Open  Wallet' and select the correct one ?

Yes.

When i goto the whole folder i have backed up it has 4 of them but NONE of them correspond to the name of my wallet ??

They are -

Ghash.wallet   -I think iused that site years ago !!
multibit.wallet
P2p.wallet      -I used to use P2P mining nodes, but was a pain since i could not monitor my miners.....
Untitled.wallet - HuhHuh?? Not sure what this is Huh

I now use Slushpool as i can easily remotely monitor my miners BUT there is no sign of this in the folder ?

I don't know why a wallet is missing. All wallets should be there unless you moved them.
Try checking the "add password" tab to see the location of your wallet. I think you might be confusing the description as the wallet name (both can also be found in the "add password" tab).
290  Other / MultiBit / Re: Multibit Classic - Quick question on back-up ?? on: August 27, 2016, 01:45:54 PM
You're not wrong in backing up the whole folder, but depending on your needs you might not need some of the files. The [name]-data folder contains your wallet backups that multibit makes automatically, [name].info file contains the description and labels. You can read more here.
291  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Legendary members supporting scams ? :( on: August 26, 2016, 03:48:32 PM
Being a legendary only means that their account is old enough to become one, also like yahoo62278 an account can change ownership at anytime nowadays. People shouldn't automatically trust them just because they are legendary.

Might just be me, but I actually think that he was making a joke/being sarcastic.
292  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Stolen Coins and their Destination : Slush Pool Hack from 2012 on: August 26, 2016, 09:58:16 AM
I followed the coins a bit from the original destination address and found that they haven't really gone anywhere, beyond being recycled several times : https://blockexplorer.com/address/3HNSiAq7wFDaPsYDcUxNSRMD78qVcYKicw
Although it looks like today and yesterday they started being split up again.

If you see it that way then all bitcoins that have been mined haven't gone anywhere too, just waiting for their current owner to spend them.

For all we know those bitcoins have been split to multiple address multiple times before the hacker finally used a mixer and spent them somewhere. I mean, it's been 4 years.
293  Economy / Lending / Re: Need 0.025 Loan on: August 26, 2016, 07:19:19 AM
If you want people not to "spam" this thread with questions commonly found in loan threads you can link them to your similar thread here which will answer most questions.

You're welcome.
294  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: NEW government Version of Bitcoin??? You have to read this crap! on: August 24, 2016, 01:48:40 PM
It's not entirely incorrect if you replace all "Bitcoin" words in your post with "Cryptocurrency".  Some governments have already hinted that they wanted to make centralized cryptocurrencies.
But the part about how they're going to replace bitcoin is just BS.
295  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Email services on: August 23, 2016, 11:58:30 AM
Gmail works. But what services are you using? It might be the services' fault and not the email provider.
296  Economy / Lending / Re: Looking for a 2 week $2.8k loan on: August 23, 2016, 11:55:09 AM
I'll be getting a $3k bug bounty from Uber in a few days. Need some money now. You can choose to trust me or not. I'll show you proof that I've done it before.

If no one trusts me, you'll all be pissed off in two weeks when I sign an address with $3k in it.

I'd rather be pissed off for not getting $200 (which have very low chance of happening) than for losing $2.8k in a stupid way (high chance of happening).  Roll Eyes

Actually, yes we can and we did. I doubt that the global moderators would fall for the "roommate did it" story after being discovered as a copy-paste spammer. Have a nice day.

^^Was about to say this.
298  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: Receive BTC on: August 23, 2016, 10:25:09 AM
Where did you sent the bitcoins from and to where? If you're sending from a service (an exchange maybe) to your bc.i wallet then it may take some minutes before they process it.

And posting the address as said above will help.
299  Other / Meta / Re: How to make my own signature? on: August 23, 2016, 09:20:51 AM
If I have a picture that I want to use as my signature, what do I need to put as code (assuming I know the url of the picture)?
picture are not allowed like they already said. You just need to use bbcodes.
iirc jr. member signature has a limit of 150 characters so you can't design it much.

Using bbcodes, you said I can't use pictures, so what rank is needed to display a picture in  our signature?

No matter how high your rank is you can't display a picture in your signature period.

I never used to copy paste anything, i did share my apartment with two mariners who were my juniors as they requested through my best buddy, since they were looking for a job i accepted and i introduced them to bitcoin and to this site. Thats the only thing in my mind what i did till now.  It would be nice if the mods could post a note while banning a user ,it is not that hard of a task

Wow, straight out lying...

kings X1 punjab VS Gujrat lions,The Mohali pitch was batsman friendly during the World T20, without much assistance for the spinners. Hitting a good length, or just back of a length, could be the way to go given the long square boundaries, and fielders will have hard day in the out field. my prediction is Gujarat lions to win the match

Injuries to Mitchell Starc and Samuel Badree have dealt a heavy blow to Royal Challengers leaving them more reliant on Adam Milne and their Indian bowlers.
