obviously this is an alt account looking to generate some fud.

Agreed, that made no sense at all.

If people could send btc immediately without having to convert from fiat they wouldn't of asked for an extension in the first place!

Give it a few days to see a real difference.
282  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: $XAI Sapience AIFX - Decentralized AI | EXT. LAST TIME 1 WEEK TIL 12/10 @ 23:59 on: December 04, 2014, 10:09:40 AM

Secondly, and this is something I see alot of you dont realize, but even a quick glance at this thread you can tell that the top promoters are ; Alty, CrazyLoaf, and a bit from dasource.

Let's just get this straight. This project is 100% independent from myself as in I have literally no say in what happens. That's actually a nice feeling because I'm not sure you have any idea about how complicated it is to run a coin to meet everybody's expectations.

Not that this is really the place to do it but why not.

Did you see what my team actually did in cloak from the start that was unique at that time?

Trade feature from wallet to exchanges.
Anon feature that used exchanges themselves to obfuscate.
(Later on) PoS protocol extensions to transmit data

Those were finished and they were the start of the whole project.

Then we attempted PoSA that was a massive undertaking and we got it working, was anybody paying me to do it??? no, but everyone wanted to get rich from the hard work.

So we built the exchange anon and the public / investors deemed it not good enough... we accepted that and to meet the demands came up with PoSA concept. The first version was found to not meet expectations so we went back to the drawing boards and changed again and again... in the end I had to pull the plug on my involvement because I couldn't keep funding... dev work is expensive if you have to start rebuilding and running overtime... but had we carried on it would of worked out as originally stated I'm sure.

Cloak set out to do some extremely innovative things and I did everything I could to do those, it was never a scam and there was absolutely no involvement with Bob Surplus, myself and others from the team even turned him away when he came digging for extra info.

Back to this coin. Sapience:

I am not on the dev team and literally had no idea about it until two days ago.

Immediately when I spotted it I knew that this is an amazing opportunity to get a purely hands free investment. AI in a coin has the "magic" that I once tried to do and that's what drew me in without hesitation.

It would be a shame to spoil this thread because of past events that are completely unrelated, scamming people has never interested me and never will as it's not my nature to do so. Sometimes things just don't go the way they were planned and that's because of lack of experience and wait for it... funding!

I'll give this coin as much support as I can, just as I always have with anything I've been invested in... it's what we all do and we're all learning and improving based on past failures and successes. That's self improvement and it's important, but getting stuck in and trying whether it's making a coin or simply investing is what get's us places.

The dev is extremely talented, his real world name and reputation is on the line and the project has all the hallmarks of becoming bigger than we know if treated correctly.

I'm glad to be an part of it as an early investor and will encourage others to do the same during this last chance week, which I asked for too so I can buy some more Cheesy

That was the correct decision to make for the greater good of this project.

It gives us time to build more awareness.

If anyone is not happy with the decision to extend a further week...... so the dev has a shot at doing this with more reasonable funding..... I'll buy your coins at IPO price.
284  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: $XAI Sapience AIFX - Decentralized AI | Brain on Blockchain! *LAST DAY til 12am* on: December 03, 2014, 11:25:50 PM
It's good to see more crowdfund btc coming in to support this ambitious project.

Really hoping at least 100 btc is raised and that it's extended a second time by an extra week (fingers crossed).

I do understand all the guys that bought in early and want to keep a larger stake by cutting off before other people come in... but surely it's better to have more people invested with a bigger community to create activity (albeit not too many from the start (muahaha)) and at the same time ensuring that the dev has enough funds to keep focused on his work.

What's one more week for a more workable capital?

IMO, not good if we extend again for a week, at 1st week, fail to reach minimum, and now at 2nd week ( 1st extend ) we past 25 BTC minimum needed, also past 40 BTC ideal needed. so we already met the requirements.

First week nobody knew about it

Second week towards the end people start to discover and realise the possibilities but like myself don't have time to convert fiat to btc

The dev is highly intelligent / capable programmer but he was clearly hoping for way more initially. Hence the 1 Million coins for sale at 40K sats. Due to current market conditions he probably felt like he didn't have a choice to say that a much lower amount would be acceptable as he probably didn't want to let people down. Let's face it there was no promotion and not much investment. When you consider the work needed to build an artificial intelligence living on the blockchain... do you really think it can be done to the level of quality we all want for just 25 to 40 btc?

One more week will give this project the start it deserves.

I vote for another round of funding immediately after this one or staggered at a later date.

Three reasons for this.

1: Adequate funding is crucial esp for such an ambitious project to come to life.

2: Getting a community on board at an early stage as opposed to just a few has a positive knock-on-effect in terms of promotion.

3: Discovered this towards end of latest round of ICO and need more time to convert some fiat to btc.

The more we support this project from the start as a community by making people aware of it and therefore increasing working capital (whilst the crowdfund is open) the higher chances it has of success.

I love the idea of a distributed artificial intelligence that can grow over time.

Who knows what it could be capable of if done in the right way.

Stuff of sci fi perhaps but hey... that's what intrigues me.

Whatever happens this sounds like the coolest / most exciting project in the crypto world that I've seen in a very long time and for that reason alone...

I'm in.

Setting a date so early (10th September) was a mistake.

Why did that happen?

This was after discussion with the dev team brought on by the constant demands in the IRC and other channels.

From experience I would of been much more comfortable adding a couple of weeks to that date but stuck to the date we'd talked about as a team.

As a result of this error I'm not going to let it happen again.

When we have something you'll see it and I'll be avoiding the pre-hype that can lead to people dumping on release.

I'm here, just not communicating in this thread or on my twitter account until I have something to show everyone.

We / CLOAK do not rely on nodes in the same way other coins have done in the past:
As can be clearly seen in the whitepaper.
...

Sorry but the whitepaper is totally empty and your quote doesn't make sense.

How does Transaction processing / Block generation / Forging?Mining?Minting?? work ?

Doesn't make sense because you don't understand PoS?

Do some research first.
295  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [CLOAK] Cloakcoin | No Premine | X13 | Decentralized Proof of Stake Anon on: July 03, 2014, 12:00:52 PM
Basically a Proof-of-Stake is not made to be anonymous. On the contrary, it rely on the fact that everyone know how much coins there are on each address at any time.
Not sure you understand what we are doing or the way Sunny King built PoS. We are using Proof of Stake extension protocols, not the standard PoS system itself.
Could you please extrapolate on your statement "it rely on the fact that everyone know how much coins there are on each address at any time".
Also the part about saying you could create enough evil nodes is the equivalent of saying "you could create enough evil miners to make a 51% attack."
PoS works on network weight, so those evil nodes would have to have a large amount of the coin, and if they did, wouldn't if be counter productive to lessen the value by trying to corrupt it?

Is there a minimum amount of coin to be a node ?
If not or if it require a small amount, you can easily create most of the node of the network through cheap VPS provider like digital ocean ($0.007/hour).
Once you've got most of the network, you can start sending corrupted data and fake the amount of coin you own.
An exchange like Poloniex will have no way of making the difference because everything will be obfuscated for anonymous purpose.
From that point, one can flood the market with coins.

We / CLOAK do not rely on nodes in the same way other coins have done in the past:

As can be clearly seen in the whitepaper.

Quote
Opt-Out System vs. Centralized Authorities
The proposed solution is decentralized, in that it is not reliant on centrally controlled authority nodes, all
nodes in the P2P network participate by default. Nodes that turn staking off essentially “opt out” of the
system, but they are also then ineligible to receive transaction processing fees.

Still not sure what XC is doing differently, isn't it just a bunch of mixers not too dissimilar from DRK tech?

I think just 1 Cloakcoin article on a big bitcoin related website will bring us to 100k.
Its realy the lack of people knowing of Cloakcoin.
For example, VRC. Vericoin is a great coin. I was in it for 2 weeks, and then sold at 12k beceause i tought no one was interested in it.
And then, all of a sudden, Vrc raised 2,5x his value in barely 2 days..
This beceause VRC got their media attention, so people could see the potential of it.

All in good time! This will happen.

Just joined the party, maybe a bit late but better than never!

Welcome to the party! Smiley

This is very early days for CLOAK

With PoSA (truely decentralized p2p anon), CloakMarket (decentralized p2p market) a VPN service (CloakVPN) and so much more coming soon... We not even off the blocks yet  Wink
