281  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: [ANN] Mistertango - Bitcoin friendly European Bank Account + free MasterCard on: July 27, 2017, 05:33:38 AM
Mistertango has a flat 0.005 BTC fee for bitcoin deposits. That's more than 10 EUR based on current prices! Why not add a EUR based fee?

Mistertango is bitcoin friendly, but not bitcoin bank. They are using btc-exchange.com services and you posted their price.

CEO of both btc-exchange.com and Mistertango is the same and they are directly linked with each other.

Is the mainnet active for ARdor? I have collected enough tokens to forge . As I am so excited to see the new and independent ARDor wallet. Hope it will be releasing soon.

Not yet, according to the  latest news Ardor will go live at the beginning of November. If you are curious, you can test Ardor testnet at https://ardor.jelurida.com/

You can feel some timeline here: www.jelurida.com/ico

@lurker10, Hi, have some questions
1) zero-balance- Nxt- account (NXT=0 and ARDR =0) :   will  it be transferred to ARDOR platform at the launch.
2) Being on Ardor platform, will it be possible to transfer some ARDR to other account? If, yes,  what token such transfer will require as a fee, ARDR or IGNIS?

1) Nothing will be transferred or distributed as both are 0. The same passphrase will open the same account id on Ardor.
2) Yes, fee will be in ARDR. ARDR token will be forging, can be transferred, leased to another account, traded in coin exchange inside Ardor platform. Nothing more. All Nxt features will have Ignis.
284  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: | ARDOR | Scalable Blockchain-as-a-Service Platform | Proof of Stake on: July 26, 2017, 03:40:25 PM

ARDR is a forging token of the parent chain of the Ardor platform. ARDR is a locomotive, an engine that pulls the "cars" (child chains). Can't do without an engine, it's very valuable. Only the parent chain and Ardor token can do forging.

IGNIS is one of the child chains. It is the first default community child chain, it very likely will be the most decentralized of all child chains. These characteristics give it value.

Users of all child chains will have to pay fees to have their "cars pulled" (transactions processed into blocks) to users who own Ardor tokens and do forging (act as the engine).

The more child chains the platform will host and the more activity within those child chains, the more demand for Ardor tokens and the more profit to forgers.

Private and public child chains can be ordered to be added to the platform by companies, communities, towns, etc. They will all have to pay fees to forgers to have their transactions processed. This locomotive can pull many "cars". I hope this helps to understand the Ardor design better.

Thanks for that explanation!

so do you get ignis with ardor? or only with nxt?

Only NXT. More details are here: www.jelurida.com/ico

Barrabas, can't help you, really, if you read and can't understand what you read. And yes, do not waste your time here, please.

Barrabas, yes you are fudding. Here si some information for you, taken from https://www.jelurida.com/ardor-blockchain-platform-design :

Quote
6. Implementation phases
The full roll-out of the Nxt 2.0 / Ardor design will not happen all in a single step, but as common in large software projects is planned to be implemented in several phases.

A. First, a system consisting of the forging chain and a few hard-coded child chains will be created. This has already been achieved on the public Ardor testnet, and a production launch is planned for Q3 2017. Each child chain is using its own native token, and child chain transactions are bundled in ChildChainBlock transactions on the forging chain. However, while future pruning of these transactions is possible, it is not yet implemented. As the system is just starting and total transaction count in the first few months after launch will be low, pruning is not yet really needed. Snapshot calculation and propagation are also not implemented, and since there is no pruning, all nodes store all child chain data in this phase.

B. Next, pruning, snapshot calculation, and snapshot propagation will be implemented. This functionality is expected to be on testnet in Q4 2017, and pushed to production in 2018. It will be then possible to prune child chain transactions, even retroactively those already submitted in phase A, because they are created as prunable by design. Each node will be storing the transactions of only the child chains the node owner is interested in, with archival nodes providing the service of making old transactions available for download by others. Child chain creation will still be a manual process.

C. Full automation of the child chain creation lifecycle. Users will be able to create their own child chains, without depending on the Jelurida development team. At this stage, we will have much better understanding of the actual needs of child chain creators, the resources a child chain consumes and parameters it needs defined, and thus will be able to automate the process by adding the required transaction types to make it all self-serve.

D. Advanced concepts of the so-called "transparent forging" design can be put in place, allowing reduction of block times and increase of transaction processing throughput based on prediction of next forger, penalty for forgers missing their turn to forge, sending of transactions directly to the forging hub of the next forger, and so on. Many of those potential improvements are only needed when there is a demand for high transaction processing capacity, but this demand can be satisfied only after the scalability and bloat reduction features have been provided by the prunable child chain design in the previous phases.

Take a look at the point C bolded part. How Jelurida will sell child chains? Do you have another information? Bring it on or stop fudding.

That's was your statement: "Big money, in this case, is what Jelurida, the team, will charge private organizations for the chains and related services."
So if you say that, then you know exactly. Otherwise it's another FUD Smiley
291  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: | Nxt | Blockchain Platform | Proof of Stake | Official on: July 20, 2017, 04:01:18 AM
Barrabas, do you know how much Jelurida will charge private organizations for it service? How much is big? You should have some link to public information about how much Jelurida charge. Or you take things out of the blue sky again and post here as "facts"?
292  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: | Nxt | Blockchain Platform | Proof of Stake | Official on: July 19, 2017, 03:29:19 PM
Just read https://www.jelurida.com/ico since it's updated.
Thanks. I found this from the article:
ARDR distribution
The ARDR coin distribution will be 100% based on ARDR asset balances from the Nxt blockchain, in 1:1 ratio, with each user account automatically receiving the same number of ARDR coins on the Ardor platform as the number of ARDR tokens they have at the time of the snapshot.

What is Ardor platform?

what do you think about NXT, ARDR & IGNIS?

If the question is for me, NXT was a great project marred by the horrible distribution and overall greediness of the main holders/developers. Great tech never given a real chance because of those and other circumstances, such as the inability to make it simpler to understand and use and the inability to simply make it KNOWN.

ARDOR is supposed to be the natural evolution of NEXT and, as such, have many more and much improved features. They , the developers, have had over a year to bring this to fruition and so far have not produced anything except for untested pretenses (untested under stress conditions, that is). Even if those pretenses are close to reality when the product finally sees the light there will be in affect already and in very advances stages of development much more advances products by at least half a dozen projects, with many more in earlier stages.

IGNIS I don't even know what it is. It seems to me just another clone token/asset. A necessary part of the con that this entire project has become.

I'm just pissed they had to invent a bazzilion coins to add to the ARDR mainchain. Why could they not have just rolled NXT into the ARDR blockchain and in a way NXT would have been IGNIS. No new ICOs and money begging, just build ARDR and run NXT on top of it. NXT would've been the main transactional token and other chains could've joined it.

These days it seems if you want free money you just release an ICO. I need a new washing machine, therefore I plan to release WASHCOIN and later on CLEANCOIN.

*Sigh* Anyways....

Because it was impossible to do technologically, as Ardor is completely new/different design of blockchain platform.

Child chain bundlers will pay hardcoded fee in ARDR, not less. Which big money and where will they go?

FUD again by barrabas.
295  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: | Nxt | Blockchain Platform | Proof of Stake | Official on: July 18, 2017, 05:17:31 AM
@barrabas: Let's see what happens. I think a gradual stress testing and expanding of the platform is possible, you think it is not - well, we'll see that in some months. From the view of the present day everything is speculation, a bearish stance like yours is totally legit. But take into account that Bitcoin began with ONE single node.

I've still not found sources about "private child chains" and I doubt it will be possible to create totally private chains (with not even read access for the general public) inside the Ardor platform. Afaik the private chains are the forks of Nxt/Ardor for businesses. Possibly, creating child chains could remain a paid Jelurida service for a longer time that I expected initially.

I will decide my final position on Ardor when this point becomes clearer - if control is too centralized and license terms too restrictive, then I'll not longer supporting it.

Chain can be "private" only if it tokens are not in free market, I mean you cannot use chain, if you don't own its tokens. But technically it will be public in Ardor platform, also bundlers of this chain has to pay ARDR in odrer chain transactions to be included in the main chain.

And yes, it was said many times publicly by devs, that at the beginning, creating child chains will be manual, by devs and it will be paid service. Ability to create child chain without devs is planned for late 2018 or 2019. Of course there will be a fee for this, but this fee will go to ARDR forgers.

And here is a proposal of new JPL license by Jelurida: https://www.jelurida.com/jelurida-public-license

EDIT: P.S. but this discussion must go to https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1518497.0, as it is Ardor related Smiley
296  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: | Nxt | Blockchain Platform | Proof of Stake | Official on: July 17, 2017, 10:45:06 PM
Define "blockchains" in your matter. There will be one blockhain platform in Ardor, with main chain (which will only forge) and many child chains (which will have all or less features Nxt has now) design. You stated that all child chains, except Ignis will be private, not public and owners of these child chains will need to pay devs for them. Which is not true. Let's stick to your statement.
297  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: | Nxt | Blockchain Platform | Proof of Stake | Official on: July 17, 2017, 10:08:29 PM
Practically exchange was hacked, not NXT. I do not remember Nxt was hacked, except some users, who used weak passwords. But this problem is with all crypto, if password is "password123" user will be hacked sooner or later.
As for child chains and blockchains, read https://www.jelurida.com/ardor-nxt-feature-comparison and https://www.jelurida.com/ardor-blockchain-platform-design again and ask what do you not understand.
298  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: | Nxt | Blockchain Platform | Proof of Stake | Official on: July 17, 2017, 09:42:41 PM
NXT was not hacked, exchange was hacked. These are two different things. Again, let's stick to the facts.
299  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: | Nxt | Blockchain Platform | Proof of Stake | Official on: July 17, 2017, 09:07:57 PM
Do not waste much time on this, martis.

Barabbas started with some points to bring up, and criticism and devil's advocates are always healthy and welcome, but considering the time he spends writing posts here, some of his recurring arguments, and his hellbent-on-a-personal-crusade attitude, sadly the best thing might be to just put him on Ignore list and do not feed his constant attempts of hijacking the discussion. If he cannot understand the multiple problems and dead ends the Nxt community found when trying to operate within a fully decentralized framework (based solely on donations) since the start, and if he cannot see why any attempt to find a niche in the current crypto ecosystem without securing funds for development, marketing et al is doomed and why, he is at best an idealist with lots of time to waste. But reading some of his claims, I doubt it. He crossed the line to fudster for me long ago. Motives? Who knows.

Sure he is a fudster or uninformed completely. There come new people and his fud do not help for new people to understand Ardor design. That's why I react and stick to facts, which are public, not some imagination. But, yes, not far away and I'll put him on ignore Smiley

Barabbas, read public resources again and try to understand what you read. Or ask what you do not understand Smiley
