281  Other / Politics & Society / Re: How do you feel about the death penalty? on: April 15, 2017, 04:37:45 PM
My argument is very simple. In almost all the nations where the death penalty was recently abolished, we have witnessed a sharp upswing in the crime rate. Therefore, IMO, the death penalty must be there to deter these sort of crimes.
My opinion is very similiar to yours, I also have spotted that in the countries where the death penalty has got out of use, the crime rate has grown.
It is because of one, very simple reason: criminals are not scared to do bad thing to other people.

If there would be a death penalty for killing someone ( excluding car accidents ) no matter what, Im one hundred percent sure that the murder rate would decrease.

Criminals need a vision of really brutal punishment for their crimes, because if the goverment will be kind with them, and the penalty will not be harmful, then the bad people will think that they might do what they want with impunity.
282  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: GAMBLING & TRADING on: April 15, 2017, 04:23:19 PM
I personally won't recommend gambling simply because you can lose your money in a heartbeat. I deposited some money on a trusted gambling site and even though I had a strict plan I ended up losing my initial deposit. I also started trading and I'm already in profit. I kinda regret depositing money into gambling but at least I learned my lesson.
Well xFiber, I would like to ask ( if it is not a private data for you of course ) what was your inital deposit amount?
Im also interested what strategy you have used, was it martingale, or rather something different?

I think that gambling is even more risky than trading, unless you trade blindly, without doing analysis- then the gambling odds are probably better, because on the markets, you basically "fight" against more experienced users and also against big players, that are sometimes even able to change the price of some asset, thanks to their big orders.

Investing in bankroll of the gambling website is something where you should earn on a long-term thanks to the house edge, however that is not only scenario, you can also be on negative profit, if there will be many wins/ big wins from the players side.
283  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How do you stop someone forcing you to hand over your private key and taking all on: April 15, 2017, 01:15:40 PM
One thing I have thought about is that with bitcoin, someone could force you to hand over your private key. What sort of safeguards are there to prevent this happening, or to prevent them taking everything in that wallet?
One thing one can do is leave Bitcoins on an exchange that will only allow you to withdraw $1000 worth per day, but then you run the risk of the exchange being hacked....what are the other options?
Well, lets say the truth.
If someone will torture you in purpose to force the private key out of you, then I think your money are basically lost, unless you are some pain-resistant person, or someone will save you in short time.
I dont think we have some programmes which may support you in such a situation, but for example you could transfer the money into poloniex, and they allow you withdrawing 2000$ daily without any identity confirmation.
I guess that the best way to prevent someone forcing you to give access to your bitcoins, is just hiding them somewhere in the place he can't know about- not necessary in the internet, but somewhere in the safehouse or anything, as a paper-wallet or hardware-wallet.
284  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Do you see alts have chances against Bitcoins? on: April 15, 2017, 01:04:59 PM
I have been seeing Bitcoins' price rising with a stability in its growth, but due to the higher mining fee that is being levied on transactions these days, big businesses are now moving their funds towards alts and taking advantage with their least fees as well as shaping a completely new economy in the trends of altcoin markets. Do you think this may harm Bitcoin's dignity and open up a chance in real for alts to rise?

Even with the negative factors and valid ones at that you listed there, I haven't seen businesses moving their funds to alts when they know to convert to fiat, most of the alts will still need to be converted to Bitcoin first. For me, I have not seen any alternative to bitcoin in the altcoin world but hopefully with gradual development one of them will come to mainstream and I can join in.
I have a slightly different point of view, I think that none company related with bitcoin will move their funds onto some altcoin ( which has much smaller volume and marketcap ) just because we are witnesses of the big panic and confusion going on the markets. Also, they would not make such a change because of blockchain in traffic- really high fees and long time to confirm a transaction, which is kind of obvious, because I would not rely my business on some altcoin that might be dead in next year- and I doubt that something will even scare bitcoin, there is no doubt it will exist in next year.

Alts have their chance against bitcoin, but they need more time for that, to attract more bitcoin users to them.
285  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: North Korea, the new age pirate that targets bitcoin on: April 15, 2017, 07:06:08 AM
https://news.bitcoin.com/north-korea-hackers-stole-bitcoin-2013-2015/

North Korea is the new age pirate and they are not after gold but they are after bitcoin. According to this article North Korea has successfully hacked bitcoin into their hands starting 2013 to 2015. It was also estimated that they have harvested 100 million yuan worth of bitcoin every month from hacking. The community must not be silent against it rather there must be some measures to be done so to avoid this unwanted hacking incidents.

Well it seems like that whatever the North Koreans do, it is always somehow related to hacking , lol.
I think that it does sound likely it is something that the North Koreans would do, as they have forged notes before as well of the United States actually.
This shouldn't be a worry to anyone here though, because the internet in North korea is so bad anyways they can't brute force anything Tongue

All jokes aside, as long as you secure your wallet, preferably even with BIP38 encryption, you should be fine.
I wouldn't be surprised if majority of these coins stolen are actually from web wallet services, like Coinbase.
It is easier to hack a email and reset the password, than to crack a private key with brute force.
Stay safe !
286  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Impulse gambling on: April 15, 2017, 05:02:04 AM
Anyone else here impulse gamble?

After a bad day of trading, I sometimes hit the dice and try to go positive. Most of the time I end up losing even more. I can't control it.

Yeah, same.
What usually happens to me is that I have a really rough day at work or something, and then I seek some rewards through gambling.
Of course, without even thinking about my actions or its potential to destroy my finances, i start gambling.
Usually, it ends always very badly, with me losing all of my money.

But now I've learned to control this gambling binge. I know that gambling won't work in the long run, so I only view it as entertainment.
Strictly entertainment, because if i go for the profit, i'll lose like always.
Think of gambling as a treat, not something you can make money out of. Just like eating candies Wink
287  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Newbie Question: Growing small amount of BTC? on: April 13, 2017, 01:40:27 AM
If you really want to earn a passive income off bitcoin, this is definitely not the way to do it.

You have to realise that the more you slave away on a faucet, the more the faucet owner will make. You might have a degree at university but if you choose to do faucet then everyone is the same, whether you're a high achiever in uni or a drop kick in high school.

Sell your skills, that way you'll be able to earn more money.

Once you get enough, open your own faucet site, instead of trusting your money to someone you don't know.

Anyways, i'm sure the forum will welcome you. Good luck on your BTC journey!
288  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: All ways to cash out your Tether (USDT) ? on: April 13, 2017, 01:35:15 AM
Huh Just convert the USDT back to BTC and withdraw it the same way you would any other time.

But I dont see a regular cash out option in Kraken. They have only USDT option to get your money out. I send them an email and it`s been almost a week and no answer so far.

Quote
Pretty much sure that polo and BFX are the only exchanges that still accept it.

On tether.to they show about 10-12 sites that supports USDT.

yeah I guess so.

I searched it up on coingecko and no exchanges except for poloniex and Bitfinex accepted it. I guess their informtion then is either incomplete or outdated because now I've searched it up on Coinmarketcap there is a lot more.

Bittrex seems like a good alternative if you don't wanna go through Kraken or Poloniex.

They seem to respect your privacy, never seen anyone complaining about bittrex having to ask you for identification docs.

C-Cex don't have that much volume for USDT anyways, best to avoid.
289  Economy / Economics / Re: Can Bitcoin also lead to corruption ? on: April 12, 2017, 12:35:15 AM
We all know that there is corruption everywhere, like in government or any other organization. Because of money, corruption can always happen with greedy people who always wants more money to them. Since bitcoin can be considered as money, can it also lead to corruption?

Well, it is not bitcoin that leads to corruption in that case. It is people's greediness, which is innate and we cannot control.

People can use any currency to be corrupt. People use bank accounts, cash, gold, silver, wine, a whole range of things. Whatever they choose, it is their decision. It is not like the bitcoin community or satoshi suddenly just decides to promote bitcoin as a way to be corrupt.

But bitcoin is anonymous, making it easier for people to be corrupt over country borders. That would be true.
290  Economy / Gambling / Re: BITDICE CASINO - GET YOUR CUT FROM DAILY TREASURE CHEST! on: April 12, 2017, 12:29:36 AM
I logged in with my Bitdice account and I saw the Daily Treasure Chest . I open my daily treasure chest and I got this :

Seems better luck next time to me Grin.

This is really great addition, it makes the player to look forward for another day to open the chest and see what awaits us.  I hope I will get lucky next time  Smiley

Well that's pretty unlucky to be honest mate Grin

I wish Alex can actually say "Better luck next time" instead of put 0 Tokens. I mean it's just depressing to be honest to see something tokens and then realise that something was zero... Cheesy
291  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will bitcoin be used to support terrorists? on: April 11, 2017, 02:04:15 AM
On March 8th, Cheollima Civil Defense(CCD) released a video on its website claiming:” Han Sol, the son of Kim Jong Nam, and two other family members were met quickly and relocated to safety. “ And they receive bitcoin for financial support. This is something nice to do. BUt what if bitcoin be used to support some bad organizations, even terrorists? Is this already happening?  What i am worrying is if bitcoin be widely used for bad things, negative news would be all over and bitcoin price will drop. It will lead to tougher regulation. Do u think world leaders are willing to kill btc to make sure they can fight terrirists?

It does make sense that terrorists might be interested in using bitcoin.

However they can essentially do the same thing with any other fiat currency, in paper notes. They are in fact more untraceable than bitcoin because bitcoin has a public ledger, even though the identifiers are not linked to one single person.

So you can't blame bitcoin for providing a perfectly legitimate service.

Much like bitcoin is being used for drugs, so is cash.
292  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How to spot a gambler addicted? on: April 11, 2017, 01:54:27 AM
I think that usually a guy which play games for a long time, risk to became a gambler addicted. Which method you use for stop plaiyng when you understand that you are near to became addicted?

For example, i don't play a lot or for long time (i play games spot during my free time), so i have no idea about, but i trade forex all day and when i had a significant  loss i usually turn off my Pc and i go out for a drink , just for not run behind loss.

If they are always on a certain dice site, then they are addicted.

There are a shit ton of players that hang around PrimeDice and Justdice chatrooms literally 24/7 looking for someone to tip him or chat with. I know because I have logged in on different times of the day over the course of something like 2 months and that guy, i always saw.

If you see their public stats, they are almost always negative.

If they're positive, they will be back for more. And eventually they'll lose all they've got and cry out loud in the chat.
293  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: All ways to cash out your Tether (USDT) ? on: April 11, 2017, 01:47:19 AM
I heard tether.to can sends your tether into your bank. But they take forever to verify your account and your information. So far it`s been 5 days I`m still waiting on them. So are there any other ways to exchange your USDT to USD and send the money to your bank?

I think maybe we should make a list here with all sites and options people can use to cash out their Tether and get the fiat into bank accounts
Pretty sure that Shapeshift stopped accepting them a while ago, can't seem to find it on their list.

Poloniex has a wide range of pairs with USDT because it has its own market. You've got USDT/BTC, USDT/XMR, USDT/ETH, etc. You could always get the bitcoins first and then once you get the bitcoins, trade it for fiat currencies anonymously on localbitcoins.

Same with Bittrex, they also have independent USDT markets.

And USDT is owned by Bitfinex so it's also no surprise that they accept it too.
294  Economy / Digital goods / Re: $12 Amazon Gift Card for $12 in BTC on: April 11, 2017, 01:45:04 AM
I got a $12 amazon gift card for anyone who can sell me $12 of bitcoins, I will send first to trusted member and they can redeem before sending bitcoins

I'm just saying mate you're not going to get anywhere near 1:1 for this.

If you are willing to take a cut on your amazon GC then I suggest you go to paxful.com and trade it for around 80% of the value and you don't have to provide any identification or anything else actually.

Also purse.io works if you have more, but $12 i don't think anyone's wishlist is that small.

Good luck whatever you decide to do
295  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: The official information resource for BitFury Group on: January 24, 2015, 01:16:41 AM
Give us some teasers. Show us how well designed Bitfury is.
We know you can make sub 1$ chip to outperform everyone. This does not mean every idiot is eligible to buy Bitfury miners.

Yes, yes it is. And through shallow water.

Iceland to Norway is 1500 km and through much deeper, colder and iceberg infested water.

Correct.
Iceland is one big Volcano, whole place. Rockbottom is not so stable around it.

300  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Announcment: Brand-new miner EMIC PowerModule - 5.65 TH/s on: December 25, 2014, 01:05:13 AM
20nm is too expensive to make and sell at current bitcoin prices.
Scam right there.

28nm is superior in price. Just design better chips like Bitfury.
Theres still room to improve designs.
