At least we know that Steamboat is an honorable manager adept at overseeing the project progress and has been (so far) more than gracious to his customers.

That being said, he is in a very tough situation. If Avalon ships based on order time instead of in lump batches (which I'm grateful for, and it appears that way), then Steamboat is stuck with with potentially 8? weeks between batch 1 and 6 and he can't just sit on Zefir/Ragin/other chips from paying assembly customers while waiting for his own group buy chips to arrive.

Personally, I thought that we would have priority, but I can't expect him to turn down business to wait. I also thought that the order of chip purchase had priority for assembly and then I was leapfrogged by those who ordered assembly in B1 before me on the site (my mistake, I'm just bitter about it).

Anyway, thank you Steamboat for your hard work, we're all very confident in your abilities. How are you recovering from bronchitis?

I'm not sure why everyone is getting ruffled.

Ambiguity and mission-creep. Not that it isn't warranted or fair, but that's why.

Assembly is open to those who purchased from other group buys, however; miners assembled from chips arriving through other group purchases will experience significant delays due to increased shipping and processing times, and will not be processed until all units from this group buy have been completed. Additionally, these chips will be processed in a FIFO queue, which will begin once the minimum board run quota has been reached.

Just put it in the freezer, laptop on the top of the freezer, very thin usb cable. Cooling done.
285  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Avalon: Where is our chips? (chip eta status thread) on: July 20, 2013, 03:28:51 PM
It would be nice to see the difference in delivery time between the first reports of sample chips in China and everyone else. It won't be perfect, but should give us a minimun amount of time that shipping will take. IIRC, it was about two weeks from initial reports to when steamboat received his.

Fans are cheap. 100% fan speed isn't that big of a deal imo.

Keep up the good work. Wink
288  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Ann] US based Avalon ASIC chips and assembly: 4,600 remaining on: July 12, 2013, 05:01:15 AM
Apparently Avalon just shipped their first batch. Is our first batch in this first batch?

Probably.

293  Economy / Auctions / Re: [auction] 210 BTC of debt on: July 12, 2013, 12:27:07 AM
There are many ways to collect this debt legally, including a settlement with DI or his father, who is an engineer, or court proceedings.

There is also a good possibility that tealover will come back and repay his BTC0.5 which would cover the current bid amount.

But he will always just say he can't pay it, he doesn't have the money.

You can't harass him out of it because there are laws protecting him from getting phone calls or you showing up at his doorstep.

There are many ways to collect without harrassment. DI communicated with me freely regarding the situation and offered to return to this forum to resolve the issue. Assets are easily provable with his public Facebook page.

Just over a day left.

If this DI kid was smart he'd pay $20 for the debt himself and bury it lol.

If I was in the UK I'd be on this but alas.  Good luck with the auction anyway

I believe this is just under half of what he owes.
298  Economy / Auctions / Re: [auction] 210 BTC of debt on: July 10, 2013, 04:04:24 AM
By the way I am the victim of identity theft, I do not owe anyone anything.

Nice one.

300  Economy / Computer hardware / FS: 3x Reference ATI/AMD HD5770 EFI Flashed for Mac Pro on: July 09, 2013, 08:45:12 PM
I have three efi-flashed 5770s. They are left over from a non-paying bidder in this auction: http://www.ebay.com/itm/AMD-ATI-Radeon-HD-5770-1G-Apple-Mac-Pro-Tested-Reference-Video-Card-/200934340706

There is one ATI reference, and two are reference with the long brackets on the back.

Probably not for mining at this point, but good for resale or mac users.

Asking $80 shipped/ea. paypal, bitcoin, dwolla, litecoin, etc. accepted.
