He keeps saying how he will pay out "according to the rules of my thread."
Anyone see any loopholes?

I see... may be they'd need some help in the security issues, but does they really deserve to by punished in this manner? And in particularly does the bitcoin community need their default?
[sic] To the first question: yes. To the second question: ?

Hmm... A bitcoin bailout.
I don't think bitfloor was "too big to fail" by any stretch.

RustyRyan now claims to have 1090 BTC. So far he has returned pricipal of just over 15 BTC.
Talk is cheap, trust is cheaper.

Don't forget about OKPAY, the Mediterranean online bank, or whatever you call it, with full bitcoin integration.

If some or much of it is from non-paying loans, then most likely it's because people borrowed money to invest in Pirate.
First-hand experience here. Sucks...

if I receive bet winnings, the first thing I do will be to purchase a magazine. Or at least donate.

Edit: Just saw this posted on IRC
<_matthew_> The fact that there were this many people willing to do a bet without escrow shows you how ignorant and greedy this community can get
That's his point? That we trusted him to not be a dick? Shame on us! Somebody escrow my damn coins already.

Hmm... Recently I lent 40 BTC to a moderator here, who repayed ~12% interest after about a month. It was easy peasy.
What do you have to say about that? If I had more bitcoins, I could make more loans. It's pretty simple.
It sound like you are being conditioned. Maybe so. Then I's sure you realize that your attitude (cultivated within this incubator of grifters) makes you an attractive mark. Maybe so.

TBH, it seemed a bit distasteful to me.

Its not the first time hes had a scammer label. he even got promoted to staff after having it. I expect pirateat40 to be global moderator here soon.

I just have no idea what's going on here anymore. Give me an address when Pirate pays everyone back.

However, I truly hate to see Patrick's name being drug through the mud.
When you run a high-profile "credit-rating" and "investment" operation without explaining what is going on and failing to answer simple questions, you must expect your reputation to suffer. I know, it's the inevitable gauntlet. You are correct. "Ourageous" yet "very manageable." What is it about bitcoin that makes people suspend all disbelief and take on magical, pixie dust thinking? I wouldn't know. I'm not the one borrowing an appreciating asset at very high rates and subsequently repaying every last penny. Strangely enough, this is happening every day on these forums. Look, the reality is simple but ugly: the "lending economy" here is a cesspool of scams.

My poll was slightly less messy.

When my original bet was made, I offered Matt to bet with an escrow. More and more I am wishing I demanded it from him.

Would like like to escrow mine?
