does anybody else really hope this slows down asap?
aye, I don't mind seeing the peice increase. But stability > price ftw. Exactly. Really, stability probably returns a higher price in the long run anyway. It's kind of nice to see my money grow so fast, but i just don't want to see it pop. What I like to do when the price goes nuts like this. I spend a small percentage of it on solid goods. Caus coins, etc, etc. I wish I had the same resolve.

This is one of those times when you regret the Dwolla wait. I've been regretting and waiting for several days.

isn't demurrage/inflation onlyuseful because people desire to "exchange" their depreciating money for something that does not depreciate as quickly (or at all, in bitcoin's case)?
I would think that a currency like this would be impossible to bootstrap without great influence (i.e. govermental influence), especially in bitcoin's digital arena.

Lately, something has been concerning me regarding most BTC funds.
Due to this economy being so small, it appears that many investors cross-fund each other, making them sort of codependent and probably more fragile.
Are some of this fund's capital invested in ventures independent of this forum/GLBSE?
I hope that makes sense.
Thanks,
curious bob

I just want a simple/quick method to getting money into my Mtgox account. I only used Dwolla again because I've done it before and I felt a little safer doing it. This isn't fun though.
I'm sorry. I have been through this so many times. I ONLY use dwolla because it is cheap, convenient, and accepted. For some reason, I just can't bring myself to waste gas, time, and 4% to drive to my local Walmart and awkwardly hand a cashier a confusing document and a shitload of cash, via Bitinstant. In my opinion, Dwolla won't be accepted for long at BTC exchanges due to ACH fraud. I'm curious about that method. For me, the local wally mart is used to me handing them odd amounts of cash for various things. I see it is ~4% + $3.95 for the zippay thing. But do you also then have to pay a fee for the moneygram to zippay? Not sure. Dwolla's 25 cent flat fee makes it worth the wait for me. 4% + 3.95 + would start to sting after a while.

Is LibertyReserve any good? I could do that with ArumExchange
It's nearly as hard to obtain as bitcoins themselves, so you likely wouldn't be saving any steps or money.

Even though your loans had issues, you did pay them off in full. That wouldn't stop me from investing a little.
But your multi-million dollar loan request thread stopped me dead in my tracks.

+1 Vescudero
He returned a 15 BTC deposit plus interest.
Thanks!

I needed to withdraw the entirety of my principal along with this week's interest payment, and vescudero sent it all back without a problem.
I will likely be reinvesting shortly.
Thanks Victor!

There is no need to be an advocate for Bitcoin. It will succeed or fail upon it's own merits, regardless of what you do. And mistrust is a rational response to such a radical idea. I didn't trust it either, when I first heard about it. I felt that it had to be some kind of elaborate scam. Yet, something about the idea kept gnawing at me until I had read the white paper about four times, and then something just clicked and I understood it.
And here I am.
Be patient with your friends. For the first time ever this past Tuesday, I was approached by someone that I know and was asked, "have you heard about this bitcoin thing?" without a mention or prompt from myself in any fashion. And it was at a county Republican Party executive meeting, no less. I was more than happy to whip out my android phone and show him BitcoinSpinner.
Unfortunately, newcomers have to dig a little to find the middle ground between "SCAM! PYRAMID! NOT BACKED BY ANYTHING!" and a good bit of ridiculous propaganda.

I do most of my computing on an Atom-powered netbook, and I wouldn't touch the original client with a 10 ft. pole.
I recommend blockchain.info's wallet, or some clever maneuvering at bitaddress.org or brainwallet.org to really double-up on security.

Offline transactions, to be sent at a later point in time. See brainwallet.org.

Non Public information that would have an effect on BTC Price. SR Shutdown,SHA-256 Weakness, etc
Ah, great point. I'd have to agree.

I'm curious.
I edit my posts frequently for grammatical mistakes, parallelisms, and clarity.
Is this annoying/discouraged/suspicious? (speaking of parallelisms...)

Nope, we're not notified unless you press the 'Report to moderator'. Thanks. This has been nagging me since my first post.

I've heard people say it, I experienced it myself before, but I figure I try again.
I request a withdrawal of money from my bank account to Dwolla. 4 days later it leaves my bank account, I get excited. 2 days later, and Dwolla is still "processing." The estimation was that it would be done on the 13th. It's the 14th now. It's Saturday and nothing is going to get done till Monday. The funds are just floating is mid air between accounts.
I just want a simple/quick method to getting money into my Mtgox account. I only used Dwolla again because I've done it before and I felt a little safer doing it. This isn't fun though.

In my opinion, Dwolla won't be accepted for long at BTC exchanges due to ACH fraud. I regularly use CampBX to buy bitcoins. I love them for their simplicity and hassle-free deposits (I would also use bitfloor if only they accepted dwolla. Shtylman seems like a stand-out guy). Dwolla is just too damn easy. Every week, I decide on a whim that I can afford to buy some bitcoins later. I just click a button, and *poof.* 5 days later, I have bitcoins. Dwolla is a revolving door for me; I pretty much always have something pending there. One time, I spewed a lot of shit about dwolla on this forum. But of course, dogs do return to their vomit. And I'm basically a regular Dwolla customer now. For now, it suits my needs better than any other method. The waits (verification and transaction) are a real bitch though.
