Agree, 300 kWh is min that you shall consume to get cheap electricity in Georgia, but our goal is to built mega mining datacenter so we definitely will consume far above 300 kWh electricity  Grin  We are running now pilot project in Kakheti for altcoin mining and our electricity bill do not exceed $ 5 cent kWh.

We are actually preparing for ICO to raise funds for the mega mining datacenter (http://goldenfleece.co - do not comment about web-site  Cheesy we are in the process to upgrade it  Cheesy ). Our project is called Golden Fleece (first Georgian altcoin) and we plan to build the mining datacenter on the land of Colchis in West Georgia; and yes we use green energy as a source of electricity for altcoin mining. You are right there are lots of HPP opportunities in Georgia but we target to use solar and wind power as well (but not big portion of our consumption).

What do you thing about Singapore?

how does low government corruption help mining altcoins?  Huh
if there are zero regulations also?

I also consider Georgia (my home country) as a best place for not only alts but for mining.
You should mention that it's not as easy to get 5-6 Cents per KWh, unless you are consuming above 300KWh. But, there's a big but also, under proper management and under good connections you are able to get your own power plant, small or medium one, last couple years governmental structures are working and in fact supporting people to run power plants, there are some regulations of course, but it's relatively easy to do it. Also consider that there are  more than 25k (yeas! 25 fucking thousand) rivers in Georgia, not all of them are capable to handle power plants, but hey, 25.000+! So My voice goes to Georgia the country!
Mind if I ask were are you from? and also why Kakhetia? It is the hottest region of Georgia, in summer temps reaches sometimes 40+ degrees, also there are not as many rivers as in other regions, also wind tourbins may have troubles running, the only option for green energy is solar. Why not to consider other regions? The higher you go from the sea level the cheaper electricity gets, plus there are some support from government if you use local labor and tons and tons of stuff consider. As for myself Kakhetia not seems an option for me, I'm running several data centers in Tbilisi and Kazbegi region also, some for myself and global customers hostinh service, some for local clients.

283  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Large Order at BitMAIN (Guys need your help) on: July 26, 2017, 11:12:18 PM
Hello everyone,

We are a mining company based in Georgia Tbilisi, in the Free Economic zone, with low electricity cost and no taxes.
We are located next to Industry's Leader Bitfury's mining farm.

We just ordered 100 units of L3+ Miners and 60 units S9 Miners  with PSU's from BITMAIN Technologies.

They issued us with a invoice of 284 000$. As we are a Holding company, we used Bank wire transfer as a payment method.

Today we went to the bank to make a transfer and completed it. After few hours bank calls us and asks for the invoice from BITMAIN technologies as this was a insured transfer by us that cost extra 6K.

So what happens is that, invoice from Bitmain clearly says "IMPORTANT: Please only include the order ID in the bank deposit message in order to credit your account. And do not mention BITCOIN, ANTMINER or any invalid messages in case the money will be returned by the Bank)

So, as we didnt pay much attention to this message and send invoice to the Bank, and invoice says "Antminer costs" the bank has read this message and they refunded our payment asap, and they said there is no way they will make this transfer as basically we are telling bank just send it bank, but invoice clearly reads out ANTMINER costs.
All usd transfer goes through USA banks, so there is no way in world, that the bank ignores this message. How can we not mention these words, BITcoin or bitmain or Antminer if the invoice itself says so.

Some banks might ignore this message for transfers up to 10-15K, but our transfer is 284 000 USD, its more than a quarter of a million.

Company is not quite sure how to complete the order, we not even sure if we can trust this by paying 284K by bitcoins or litecoins.

What is the alternative guys ? Has anyone made such a big order from Bitmain and how did they proceed it with the bank ?

Do you guys think that sending this guys quarter of a million worth of bitcoins or litecoins is safe??

What happened is that Bank read the invoice, which says Dont mention it is transfer for Antminer, and invoice says Antminer costs,
Can you guys remove such a message from invoice?Huh You are basically saying to the bank, to lie to the bank and at the same time invoice itself does not lie

If anyone is from Bitmain at these forums, can they tell me whats happening? Why do you guys say not to Mention Antimner to bank when you clearly say it in the invoice that it is for 100 L3+ and 60 S9's?Huh

Any help appriciated

I've done with them orders for 50k and above with wire transfer and with bitcoin also, in fact I'm dealing with them since S1s came out. They are not a perfect company to deal with, but 8/10 for sure. BTW my farms are located in Tbilisi too and I'm local, I'm running hosting business for only global customers and mining myself also as a full time job. Also consider that there are two biggest farms I've ever seen with 500+ S9s (I don't know who was their adviser and who did this stupid thing, they hired me after they ordered equipment) so be sure that it is possible to get what you want in Georgia from Bitmain without any issues.
284  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Antminer S9/T9 overheating issues and solutions on: July 26, 2017, 11:01:51 PM
First of all hello fellow miners!
Couple weeks ago I relocated my farm into a new place, previous one had some issues with dust and air intake vents.
After relocating I disassembled them and cleaned with air compressor, as I usually do once in a month. They are running since last August with no rest for 24/7. After some time I noticed that the temps are growing while the room temp stays the same 22-26°C. Also after relocating I got new S9s from bitmain and while they are operating at 75-80°C the older ones are reaching nearly 100°C, in this case I'm lowering the frequency to not overheat them.
I guess it's all about thermal paste, I'm not sure correct me if i'm wrong but hashing board chips are glued with thermal glue right?
What if and how can I replace that? I'm pretty sure it will give significant difference to temps.
Also older batches are running oldest software, the reason I'm don't want to upgrade them is that as far as I know I won't be able to change frequency, which helps me to avoid overheating as I mentioned above. Is it possible that firmware upgrade will also give the difference in temps and if it is I'd like to use firmware which supports the frequency management.
Thanks for your time guys and happy mining to all!

three questions

fan setting = ?

freq = ?

temps = ?   95-100 c   correct?  for about a year correct?

and as for thermal paste  your gear has thermal glue pretty sure  it is not the issue.

my guess is you ran them too high for a year and the caps  are showing their age  as heat will do that.

but wtf do I know?

fan settings - auto all of them

freqs - 600 if outside temp is below 25, 400 or even 200 sometimes, point is to don't make them run above 85

third question?

first couple month they were running like a charm, then due to some outside factors the dust became an issue and I relocated them, Cleaning is done once or even twice a month. The fact that new S9s at freq 600 are running under 82 made me think that thermal glue is the reason older ones are running at same temps at freq 400. In fact I don't see other reason, correct me if I'm wrong and if it is the case, how is it possible to change/repair it? I've used thermal glue before, never done that before.

one more question if you guys could help me out,
here's the config I'm running:
Code:
:restart
TIMEOUT 8
miner --server zec-eu1.dwarfpool.com --port 3336 --user ** --pass **@gmail.com --eexit 3 --api *.*.*.* --log 2 --logfile ZCASH.%date:~6,4%%date:~3,2%%date:~0,2%.ewbf.log --pec
goto :restart

I think this config gives me ability to save the the log file, but either I'm unable to find it or I did something wrong in config, any ideas what can I do?

try use absolute path e.g.  --logfile C:\mining\zec\logs\ZCASH.%date:~6,4%%date:~3,2%%date:~0,2%.ewbf.log

also this miner can not use variables logfile name in config file, only in .bat
spasibo Kukushka : )

after messing with it around I found that this command works like a charm and you were right, only after specifying the full path it saves the logs
Code:
--logfile C:\pants\0.3.4b\log-%DATE:~-4%-%DATE:~4,2%-%DATE:~7,2%_%time:~0,2%%time:~3,2%%time:~6,2%.txt
288  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Zotac new Mining Card P106-100 Arrived + rIG on: July 19, 2017, 10:26:07 AM
I've just started, so, no overcloking yet.
By default it gives ~20MHs for ethereum.
Windows drivers don't support >8 cards. So I'm trying to use nvOC which is based on Ubuntu (remote configuration not working for me currently).
you can run 8 cards on windows if your mobo supports it of course.

About the mining cards I hear people are avoiding them for their low resell value, also I don't see the point paying the same for 470 4g as for 580 8g

I was trying to re enable API access to all my S9s from the options menu, I did it and all the miners rebooted without my interaction, even after that when I select miner from list it shows that API access is restricted, what have I done wrong? and I remember there was an option to manage multiple or all miners at once, but unable to find it. Any help would be good : )
290  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Bitmain looks like they're releasing a 15GH/s DASH miner called the AntMiner D3 on: July 18, 2017, 07:21:35 PM
Guys dont hype D3 so much it is too early for any forecast. Dash difficulty is very low at this moment, Bitmain with their large production can pump difficulty 10 times until September if they set 100% producing capacity on D3.
Another interesting fact is that they do not accept DASH payment, on another words you can expect that Dash price will go down next months, plus difficult bomb is unavoidable. See LTC example, after Bitmain started to accept LTC payments for L3+,that is indicator that LTC will be stable and constantly pumped in next period, you can see that LTC is still in uptrend.

at some point I agree, but when L3 first came out they weren't accepting LTC payment, they started it a while ago.

BTW is there a chance that I can already buy D3s on place in China? I can get there tomorrow and grab some
291  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Bitmain looks like they're releasing a 15GH/s DASH miner called the AntMiner D3 on: July 18, 2017, 06:25:18 PM
fuck, out of stock, i read the news and in the same time out of stock :-(

i hope bitmain will make fast a new batch an have the same delivery date...
they will be sure, but the question is will it be worth by the time they'll ship it or not
292  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Bitmain looks like they're releasing a 15GH/s DASH miner called the AntMiner D3 on: July 18, 2017, 05:59:05 PM
either their website is error, or it really is sold out already :0

have to be quick next batch.
they announced on the fb page that batch is sold out and we should wait for new one, I think they'll come in next few days starting from tomorrow
293  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Bitmain looks like they're releasing a 15GH/s DASH miner called the AntMiner D3 on: July 18, 2017, 05:40:01 PM
Still not convinced this is legit - seems like a lot of mistakes on the website for it, no additional info on it, etc, etc.  No announcement here on BTC, and they made the announcement at like 11pm in China.

I have an order in but sitting on the wire transfer until things are confirmed.
they only did official announcement on their fb page that's it
why they didn't announce it here?
294  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Bitmain looks like they're releasing a 15GH/s DASH miner called the AntMiner D3 on: July 18, 2017, 05:14:57 PM
They are out of stock lol
I haven't even made a decision buy it or not,
anyways in next few months if difficulty will grow for 1200% they will be still profitable with not only my el. price

Hello is there any Option to set the energy cost Watt/MHs when i add the costs by algo i can only Chose for one hashrate.
exampel like this 210Mhs/ 1150 Watt. .....the prob is that he calcualtes the the energycosts only for one this Rig right all other rigs with other hash rates have the same energycosts?Huh?

And is there any Option to save the gpu Setting for different miners and Coins? with afterburner?

i can Change the Settings but i didnt can save this in awesome miner ?

sorry for my bad english. i hope some one understand my Probs ;-)

Yes i know but he takes this for all miners ......exampel  210 Mhs with 1250 Watts by 23 Cent/24 hours = 6,90€ then the prog takes the 6,90€ from all devices..... thats not right..... i think it must be possibel to say 1 Mhs / 5,4 Watt for Etherium and awesome miner take this and extrapolating this for all Rigs like....

100 mhs x 5,4 = 540 Watt x 0,23cent x 24 =2,98€
200 mhs x 5,4 = 1080 watt x 0,23 x 24 = 5,96.

.....

i want to upload some pics but thats dont work...
In Awesome Miner you can define Profit profiles and then group these into Profile groups (Options dialog, Profit Profiles section). By default you only have two Profit profiles, once for AMD and one for nVidia.

It's not possible to define Watt/MHs, but you can have more than one Profit profile. You can for example have one profit profile representing what a single AMD RX 580 performs in terms on hashrate and power usage, and another profit profile representing a single AMD RX 470. This makes it possible to specify different hashrates and power usage for different kind of GPUs.

Then you can group this together by creating a few Profit groups. Let's say you have one group called "RX580 6 GPU" where you simply specify that you have the profile for AMD RX 580, but 6 instances of it. You can also create another group representing a mix of RX 580 and RX 470 GPU's.
is it possible to do it with antminers? Just to add the power usage and price and see the come out

299  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: EWBF's CUDA Zcash miner on: July 07, 2017, 11:43:10 PM
So far so good, just switched some of my cards to ZEC and this was the miner I was advised to use and here I am.
I have several questions I would to get answers to and find solutions.
I'm running  8xGigabyte 1080s on one rig and they are working like a charm, no specific config, nothing, except OC, all cards running about 565-575 Sol/s - mems 120/600. Uptime 16 days.
Second one is with 8x EVGA FTW 1080s, first try was 125/680 which was working fine for more then 12 hours, then I got "Looks like GPU0 are stopped. Restart attempt." after what I lowered the mems on same as Gigabyte 120/600, but I constantly getting the same error.
So the question is next: (I will solve the OC problem with EVGA but if you have any suggestions I'd be glad to hear that) how can I configure the miner that if it stops hashing to restart itself?
With Claymore's miner I'm using script which force stops the terminal itself and launches it again, but in case of Claymore I have a triger to run the bat file to do this (in case anyone interested here's the script)
Code:
@echo off
call :sub >log-%DATE:~-4%-%DATE:~4,2%-%DATE:~7,2%_%time:~0,2%%time:~3,2%%time:~6,2%.txt
exit /b

:sub
echo. #############################################
echo. %time% Check if old miner process exists and kill it
taskkill /f /im EthDcrMiner64.exe
echo. %time% Starting new Miner process one...
start /d "E:\Claymore's Miner" start.bat
echo. %time% Done!
timeout 5 >nul
exit 0
So, is there any solution with EWBF miner to make it more autonomous?

The next and less important for now question is how can I combine different rigs in one monitoring also like in Claymore's monitoring? For ether 100+ rigs are monitored with one monitoring instance and emailing and sms monitoring gives me ability to quickly respond if something happens, how is this possible in EWBF case?

This might help you to restart EWBF miner in case of any error:

Code:
:restart
TIMEOUT 8
miner --server zec-eu1.nanopool.org --port 6666 --user [USER] --pass x --eexit 3 --log 2 --logfile ZCASH.%date:~6,4%%date:~3,2%%date:~0,2%.ewbf.log --pec
goto :restart

I personally use 127.0.0.1:42000 to monitor a rig on localhost and if you add firewall exception in windows plus port forwarding in router and a DDNS service, this could be accessible from everywhere, I also use an uptime monitor service to ping this address for each rig and send me notification for any down time.
Hope that help you. Smiley

Thanks for this tip, what dows this command actually do --eexit 3? All others I'm familiar with. And btw are there any live commands in live terminal like s or r in Claymore's miner?
I'm using remote monitoring and it's way nicer and comfortable than any others out there, but so far it has been good only for live preview
