281  Other / Off-topic / Re: Scientific proof that God exists? on: March 26, 2015, 07:53:32 PM
The thing that really has me stumped is, why do these people want to disprove God? Or if they aren't trying to do that, why would they want to hide the truth of God's existence?

Science cannot prove or disprove god. I wrote this way back on page #3 all those months ago. Shame you ignored it. Would of saved you a lot of typing. You'll learn.

I think your confused between the difference of believing in a god and believing in a religion.

Yes sometimes it does seem like trying to fit a square peg in a round hole when it comes to "scientifically" proving or disproving god.
282  Other / Off-topic / Re: Scientific proof that God exists? on: March 26, 2015, 07:51:09 PM
Wow what a mega off-topic thread!

I always keep an open mind and have an interest in evidence both for or against. I am not a committed atheist or a hard line creationist.

I do think most of the bible should be seen as a story, and I think verses from the bible are irrelevant when it comes to a genuine investigation of if there is a higher power or not. The bible is just a book that has gone through many, many revisions over the years at the whims of kings and other leaders throughout history. It has little to do with if there is genuine evidence of a higher spiritual force behind the universe or not.
283  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Altcointalk.org sister site on: March 25, 2015, 01:15:59 AM
I think people would be more interested in something that already look familiar to them.

Thanks yes I think so too.

Just a quick security announcement. Altcointalk staff will NEVER create an account for you on altcointalk. If you use the same username as bitcointalk please use a DIFFERENT password. Just in case someone tries to hack us in future and tries to steal everyones password in the hopes they can then use these passwords on bitcointalk.
284  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Altcointalk.org sister site on: March 23, 2015, 10:44:21 AM
I wasn't able to post, when I was trying to reply to this message: http://altcointalk.org/index.php/topic,33.msg111.html#new

It redirects me to: http://altcointalk.org/index.php?action=post2;start=0;board=21

Which appears to be a blank page. Then I try to refresh it, and it redirects me to:

http://altcointalk.org/index.php?action=post;board=21.0

Which is to create a new topic in the forum discussion section.

According to adtroitful you just need to clear your cookies?

let me know how it goes!
285  Economy / Digital goods / Re: Revenue Share on altcointalk.org - Serious Partner Needed on: March 23, 2015, 09:49:57 AM
Oh sorry, I meant SMF.. Mybb and smf are very close, phpbb as well as far as free forums go.

Have you considered a paid forum script like xenforo, ipb or vbulletin?
Either of those would provide a much more professional forum compared to smf.

Thanks for the feedback but I have a weakness for making altcointalk look like bitcointalk Wink
286  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Altcointalk.org sister site on: March 23, 2015, 09:34:36 AM
Wow, looks exactly like bitcointalk! Nice, nice!

Could I be a global mod as I previously requested? I'll register an account now Smiley

My account name is Monnt

Thanks!

I'm afraid we have enough mods for now Sad

But please do register, and if you are active and contributing to the community please ask again in a month or two as we will probably need more mods then Wink
287  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Altcointalk.org sister site on: March 23, 2015, 09:28:30 AM
Check out themes here: http://custom.simplemachines.org/themes/

I think they're free and you might find something which is not too flashy and is simple and modern.
I will browse and suggest the ones I like most.

Great thanks for your feedback.
288  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Altcointalk.org sister site on: March 23, 2015, 08:57:45 AM
Joining now and I know it's suppose to be a sister site but I think you should have used another theme. There are some good new SMF themes which other forums use and they look much better.

Thanks guys!

What themes do you recommend? It is obviously a work in progress.

If you've been on bitcointalk as long as I have the same theme is comforting but open to new ideas.
289  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] HYPER ~ Game Currency ~ Sponsors Indie Games ~Many Games ~5% PoS on: March 23, 2015, 06:26:59 AM

290  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Altcointalk.org sister site on: March 23, 2015, 03:45:45 AM
Hello, i'm here to announce altcointalk.org. The altcoin sister site to bitcointalk.org. We're hoping that one day it will be as big as bitcoikntalk.org. Come on in and announce your new coin with us, or just discuss everything happening in the world of altcoins! We're going to be looking for mods/admins soon

Yes adroitful is helping to run the new http://altcointalk.org! We have just had a soft launch.

You can post all your altcoin giveaways there, and you can also self promote your blog, crypto service etc there.

Just like bitcointalk but with less rules Wink

We have plans to grow the site into a huge crypto community over the coming months with giveaways, competitions, advertising and more.

See you there! If you make an account now you will have a nice account with good rep when altcointalk is more popular Wink

We have had a soft launch at http://altcointalk.org

Anyone can register now! We encourage giveaways (you can post your giveaways there) and we also encourage self promotion so if you have a crypto service to promote make a post about it! We have plans to grow the forum into a huge crypto community over the coming months.

To everyone who has replied to this thread, feel free to register on http://altcointalk.org with the same user name as here if you want to help as well Wink There is no revenue so you would be a volunteer but I love the enthusiasm in this thread and if anyone wants to help grow the site I would appreciate it.

Would Love to me a mod there if there are any Openings and Maybe donate. Smiley

Thanks for your interest! Will keep your mod request in mind.

Rather than donating would be awesome if you wanted to run a giveaway with some spare coins you might have (can be any altcoin really) for people that join the forum (and maybe they have to make at least 1 or 2 posts to claim the giveaway) at: http://altcointalk.org/index.php?board=26.0

If you do something cool like that to help the community grow we will make you a mod Wink

We do have lots of plans to grow the community over the coming months too.

That sounds like a great idea.  will use Doge Smiley

That would be awesome!

Let me know when it is up and we will make you a mod Wink
292  Economy / Digital goods / Re: Revenue Share on altcointalk.org - Serious Partner Needed on: March 23, 2015, 03:26:45 AM

I'd offer to help, I have a decade of managing forum experience but I would not be interested in using mybb. If you want to use a professional forum software then hit me up.

Regards
-ksguy

Thanks ksguy. We've gone with SMF the same as bitcointalk.

Feel free to take a look and if you wanted to help out that would be great.

295  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: (ANN) NUCLEUS - LASER ENGINEERING (CROWDFUNDING) on: March 22, 2015, 01:23:28 AM
Hmmmmm.......

1. Who are you?
2. Where are you?
3. Are you are legitimately registered company, individual or partnership?
4. Who owns the intellectual property / patents etc?
5. What are your professional credentials?

Your domain name / website is free / cheap hosted, you have a gmail email address, your website has no information other than a repeat of this ann plus some fancy artwork / pictures etc.

Although you can be forgiven any one of the above in isolation, the sum of you not providing any of the above is concerning.

Right now you have a snowball's chance in hell of getting any BTC from me.

Sorry Sad

The website has no company information agreed 1000%

Also the OP Melody has made no attempt to answer these concerns.

How can I withdraw from the web wallet at nodemoney.com?

Can someone tell me what I need to do.

Thanks!
297  Economy / Services / Re: Bitcoin Press Releases (Wall Street Journal, Yahoo, Bloomberg..) Many Customers on: March 18, 2015, 10:37:46 PM
Please screen your customers more for valid proof of what they're asking you to publish. It is mine as well as many other's suspicions that you are helping perpetrate a vast amount of fraud unknowingly.

After PMing and following up with WaffleMaster (as I take our professionalism very seriously) it turns out WaffleMaster thought we had worked with Gaw Miners and Paycoin.

I would like to state here publicly that Bitcoin PR Buzz has never worked with GAW Miners or Paycoin. Anyone can see all our previous clients and work at: http://bitcoinprbuzz.com/bitcoinprbuzzfeed/

We do screen our inquiries and do not work with unlicensed gambling websites, mining companies offering presales that do not check out (that are non existent), or any other company asking for large upfront investments that does not check out.

We take our reputation, and wanting to do the right thing by the Bitcoin community, very seriously.

On a more positive note, if anyone is interested in our service I hope to hear from you soon!

298  Economy / Digital goods / Re: Revenue Share on altcointalk.org - Serious Partner Needed on: March 18, 2015, 12:48:40 PM
I can easily help in installing the forums (way too easy) as well as being a moderator

How about adding all the forum boards, integrating advertising etc? Do you have time for that too? I know softaculous install takes 5 seconds but I want someone who wants to set up the boards and things too Wink

Thanks everyone for all the support. You are all welcome to contribute. It will be nice to see altcointalk.org take off!
299  Economy / Digital goods / Re: Revenue Share on altcointalk.org - Serious Partner Needed on: March 18, 2015, 12:36:28 PM
I'm looking for someone who wants to manage a forum at altcointalk.org

I will maintain ownership of the domain, while you will own the forum itself. Server costs will be split 50/50. Profit split will be 50/50

I will also support the project with my Bitcoin marketing service at http://bitcoinprbuzz.com with at least 1 press release per month.

I also own some altcoins I can giveaway to help promote the forum. I will supply some coins if you can manage the giveaways to help us get a lot of members fast.

Revenue share will be 50/50. After 6-12 months of operation and marketing altcointalk.org should be earning a considerable amount in advertising revenue. Just look at bitcointalk.org today. altcointalk.org will be seen as a sister site, and will become popular fast. We can continue this arrangement indefinitely.

I'm looking for a serious partner. Someone who understands it will probably be 6 months of hard work before we start seeing good profits. You will also need to manage a twitter account and keep this updated to help grow the forum, I can help grow this account fast too.

PM me if interested!

I can probably do this even without profit on my side, although I might not be very active. Still, PM me what I need to do but it seems pretty complicated in the OP.

Please reserve me as a global moderator if you wish. That'll probably be suitable for me.

Thanks for your interest in being a global mod! I'm also looking for someone to install the forum, set it up, and manage the server.

Will definitely keep you in mind when the site launches!

It will be an awesome forum, it's a shame I am too busy to work on it full time.

Do you already have the domain/hosting? Setting it up is a breeze

I own the domain. I don't have the hosting.

Yes setting it up is easy. Configuring all the forum sections and managing the site day to day will take more time.

You're welcome to help if you're offering Wink
300  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Bitcoin vault cube !!! Save your Bitcoins for 10 years on: March 18, 2015, 11:03:28 AM
If you are VERY serious about saving your bitcoin for 10 years. You can try to make a transaction with "nLockTime" at a block height 10 years in the future. IMO, 10 years is too extreme. One or two years is more practical.

Here is an old thread on the "nLockTime" topic:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=131443.0

Thanks that's an interesting idea. Was a good read.
