2821  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: btc vs ethereum on: November 30, 2020, 05:25:40 AM
I think both bitcoin and ethereum have close and inseparable relationship because when bitcoin have down ethereum will down and otherwise if bitcoin up ethereum will up. If you wanna try investing on ethereum always check how the moment with bitcoin price, still have higher price or bitcoin have going down because could make any reason for your chance to profit if you buy during bitcoin still down you need waiting when bitcoin up to see ethereum have the top price, like happen with now when ethereum have higher price bitcoin have on the top price first, but any the same moment between ethereum and bitcoin will make us easy to know when have to invest on both coins.

It is not like Ethereum and Bitcoin is having some sort of a "relationship". It has more to do with the dependency which Ethereum has on Bitcoin. In simple words, Ethereum needs Bitcoin to survive and as of now there is no independent existence for that cryptocurrency. On the other hand, Bitcoin is capable of an independent existence. All the other altcoins are like parasites leaching the market cap of BTC.
2822  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: We need more decentralized stablecoins on: November 30, 2020, 04:44:08 AM
In my opinion there is no need to increase the number of decentralized stablecoins, that is enough with the current decentralization of stablecoins.
Increasing the number of decentralized stablecoins will only create unnecessary competition.

Right now we have dozens of stablecoins and I agree that the number needs to be reduced. Competition is always good, but if everyone of the exchanges create their own version of the stablecoin, it will create unnecessary complications for the user. Why can't multiple exchanges use the same stablecoin, managed by a third party issuer? It will make the stablecoin more safer as well.
2823  Economy / Economics / Re: 2021 not Looking good on: November 30, 2020, 04:34:18 AM
I have to disagree with the OP. During the last few weeks, we have seen the gold prices declining and at the same time the crude oil prices have increased by around $10 per barrel (from $38 per barrel to $48 per barrel). For me, these are the strongest indications that the economy is in the right track. Investors believe that the markets are recovering and that is the reason why they are moving the money from gold to stock market.
2824  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Chinese Police Seize 1% of Bitcoin’s Total Supply on: November 30, 2020, 04:23:17 AM
I don't have idea how they secured the seize currency. I mean if it's related to crypto currency they need to have the keys for it the question is who will hold that keys ? Is it possible that they transfer it to a new wallet after getting it to the owner and there are only limited person knows about the keys . What if the one trusted the keys transfer the balance to another wallet and say it it's hacked ?

I guess they will deal with the seized assets the same way as the FBI dealt with the Silk Road coins. FBI created a new wallet, and moved the coins to this wallet. Only the FBI staff has the private keys to access these coins. The coins were held in this wallet for sometime, before the FBI got rid of them through a series of online auctions. I am not sure whether they have any coins remaining from that seizure.
2825  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Airdrops or "Scam-drops"? on: November 30, 2020, 04:10:16 AM
Airdrops were so popular among the crypto-community over the years. One of the key features of the airdrops is, it gives every participant a chance to get some free tokens by completing few tasks. Most importantly it is totally free of charge. But nowadays we frequently see a trend where the organizers of some of the airdrops ask to send a small fee prior to sending the tokens. In some cases, they put a condition saying that in order to withdraw tokens or any fund received from the sale of tokens, it is mandatory to take part in their ICOs. I would rather call such events as "Scam-drops" as they not only dilute the meaning of airdrops, but also make people to move away from future events due to lack of trust.

A distinction needs to be made between free airdrops and those which require a fee. I would never recommend those airdrops which are not free, because it goes against the very idea of airdrops. The main purpose is to distribute small amounts of cryptocurrency among the users, so that at least some of them gets interested in this particular cryptocurrency and start using it.
2826  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: XRP price Hit $0.9, suddenly goes down in second on: November 30, 2020, 04:00:25 AM
This is similar to what happened to the other coins, before they had their fork. But in each of these cases, the exchange rates plummeted after the fork. I won't be surprised if the same happens with XRP as well, because despite its no.3 position, XRP liquidity and trade volumes are much lower when compared to the other established alts such as LTC and BCH.
2827  Other / Politics & Society / Re: US Elections 2020 - very self such moderated on: November 30, 2020, 03:50:49 AM
Trump underperformed the down-ballot candidates almost everywhere. If the election stands, voters will have voted against Trump, rather than for Biden.

Loeffler should handily win as her opponent is especially radical in a Red state. Loeffler and Collins received a total of ~56% of votes, while her opponent only received ~32.9% of the vote.

That is inaccurate. Trump did better than down ballot candidates in states such as Arizona. However in states such as Maine and Michigan, he performed worse than the GOP candidates for senate/house. But looking at the percentages can be misleading. A lot of people who participated in the POTUS election abstained from the senate elections.

For example, John James outperformed Trump in Michigan (48.22% vs 47.85%, a difference of 0.37%). But if you look at the number of votes, then it can be seen that Trump received more votes when compared to James (2,649,852 vs 2,642,833).

Trump, rather than hurting the down ballot candidates, helped them in a big way by ensuring a huge turnout among the GOP supporters.
2828  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Argentina raises Gambling tax on: November 30, 2020, 03:41:01 AM
They would always have that kind of option because they do know that gambling businesses does generate more income than with other industries so its no brainer

Your post is quite perplexing. Obviously some of the casinos are being owned by billionaires such as Sheldon Adelson and Lui Che Woo. But a majority of them are small to medium sized businesses. In the United States for example, there are small casinos run by various native American reservations. And an increase in tax level is more likely to have an impact on these smaller casinos rather than the larger ones.
2829  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin shoots past $19,000 as new ATH awaits on: November 30, 2020, 03:30:16 AM
In all probability, we will witness a new ATH next month. A major correction was expected before the new ATH could be achieved and we just had that phase during the last few days. But the recovery after the correction was rather remarkable. The prices rose from $16,400 to $18,400 in a matter of three days. Once again proves that there is a huge demand for coins in the market. If $20K level is breached next week, we can expect the prices to move rapidly northward after that. 20K is a major resistance level and after that we don't have such levels until we reach 25K or 30K.
2830  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: btc vs ethereum on: November 30, 2020, 03:20:16 AM
Still bitcoin is bitcoin and it is still the king of all cryptos we cannot removed that fact. Yes that is true that ethereum is more useful compared with bitcoin but it is for the reason that it is really what is in its platform. Nevertheless one thing is for sure that these two cryptos are the most successful cryptocurrencies ever made.

You are assuming Ethereum to be more "useful" because it can be used for smart contracts. But for the purpose of being used as a medium for online payments and for investment as a speculative investment asset, Ethereum has no additional merits over Bitcoin. And at least for me, smart contracts make no difference. Because I haven't seen it a lot in real life usage.
2831  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: I guess bounty hunters really kill projects on: November 30, 2020, 03:10:34 AM
This is what I am talking about. A lot of people are quickly selling their share in these bounty campaigns/airdrops the time they have them. Have a lot of experiences from it in the past where I am checking these exchanges where it is listed and you are seeing these offers lower than the rightful price so that they can just be sold easily.

Of course the other people would offer lower until that price just crash. That is the reason some projects are having strict rules when it comes to these bounties/airdrops.

Bounty hunters normally work for 2-3 months without any payment and they receive their tokens once the ICO is over. Now you can't force them to wait any further. Can you imagine a supermarket or a retail store paying the wages to its employees after a 6 month delay? Forcing the bounty hunters to wait anymore doesn't make sense. The project team can encourage them to hold on to the tokens, by announcing additional rewards for those who are willing to do so. But strong-arm tactics are not going to work here.
2832  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ODI cricket and general cricketing discussion [self - mod] on: November 29, 2020, 05:15:13 PM
India have now five consecutive lost their in ODIs. Despite the loss Indian batsmen manged to play well. Bowlers have not been able to bowl a consistent length and even though Pandya bowled today, it was a little too late. Bowling unit needs to step up, cant expect the batsmen to play much better everytime while chasing such a big targets. India lost his match because of weak bowling. Most of the time Kohli’s captaincy has been off color while chasing the game.

I can partly agree to your post. But did you watch Steve Smith batting today? Even the commentators were saying that it is impossible to bowl a good line and length against him. Because he will score runs no matter where you deliver the ball. The Indian bowlers tried hard, deploying whatever tricks and tactics they know of. But Smith was scoring runs at such an ease, that they got demoralized in the end. Ironically, the only bowler who impressed me was Hardik Pandya, who was bowling despite being injured.
2833  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: T20 and T20I cricket prediction and discussion on: November 29, 2020, 04:31:13 PM
^^ South Africans are terrific hosts, they are not in mood to embarrass their guest, they believe visiting team is god in covid atmosphere Grin Wink unlike Aussie and Kiwi camp who are thrashing Indians and West Indians respectively.

The second T20I was very close. England won with just one ball to spare. It was surprising to see Tabraiz Shamsi picking up so many wickets. He made things complicated, when we expected England to chase down the total with relatively ease. In the end Morgan and Malan took England over the finishing line. But the match was closer than what the scorecard would suggest.
2834  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ODI cricket and general cricketing discussion [self - mod] on: November 29, 2020, 04:21:28 PM
I don't think NA Saini should be given another chance in this series. If the bowling action of the Indian team does not change in the next match too and the bowlers are unable to perform well, then the Indian team will be whitewashed. And it will not be honorable for them at all. India will want to win the next match in any way. I think they definitely need to change the bowling lineup.

There is no point in targeting Saini. The other bowlers also leaked a lot of runs. Both Shami and Bumrah conceded almost 8 runs per over today. Chahal also gave away a lot of easy deliveries. The outcome of the third match doesn't matter much, as Australia have won the series. And for India, their position in the points table for the 2020–22 ICC Cricket World Cup Super League is not important, as they have already qualified for the 2023 World Cup. So I agree with JSRAW. For the third match, India can include youngsters like Natarajan and Saini in the playing XI.
2835  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: BNB VS Eth - Invest in ETH since BNB is centralized on: November 29, 2020, 01:57:32 PM
It is very difficult to predict how the price of Ethereum will change after the launch of Ethereum 2.0 on December 1. It is possible that now is the best time to invest in this coin. But in any case, I will continue to keep part of my deposit in BNB, thanks to which I receive passive income on the exchange and enjoy discounts when trading.

Be careful with ETH. It is looking overpriced right now and there have been a lot of hype related to DeFi and ETH 2.0. A lot of people have invested in Ethereum, due to this hype. If things doesn't turn the way they are expected, then the exchange rates may crash big time. A lot of tall claims are being made with ETH 2.0. We don't know whether all of them can be realized.
2836  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Rumours that Bitcoin was created in Russia on: November 29, 2020, 01:41:31 PM
Even if Satoshi Nakamoto is a Japanese name we couldn't tell that the creator is Japanese.
We don't hava any info about the BTC creator other than it's pseudonym.
We don't know how many people are behind it what gender and nationality.
Even if we found out where Bitcoin was created we wouldn't have a clue about the personal information.

There is no living or dead person with the name "Satoshi Nakamoto". The closest to this name we have is Dorian S Nakamoto, who lives in California. A few years back, there was a lot of coverage about him in the media, after getting flooded with messages enquiring whether he is the real Satoshi. But he clarified that he has nothing to do with Bitcoins and the name was just a coincidence.

2837  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Argentina raises Gambling tax on: November 29, 2020, 01:31:10 PM
Who does not need money in the present time, we are all affected with the pandemic, even the richest country have struggled economically. Argentina is just raising their taxes on casinos, but they are already allow them to operate so they already know that gambling taxes is a big source for tax income and they also know that even if they will raised the tax, it will not affect the industry a lot compared to other industries.

This is not the time to raise taxes, unless you want the businesses to go bankrupt. Casinos and other businesses have seen a disproportionate decline in their revenues. Many of the small and medium sized casinos have closed down, unable to pay the wages to their employees. At this time, it is ironic that the government is going ahead with a tax increase. Sometimes I think that these Latin American politicians use some organ other than brain to make the decisions.
2838  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Altcoin pump and dump on: November 29, 2020, 01:21:20 PM
Despite all the hype regarding altcoins and FUD, Bitcoin dominance is remaining solidly above the 62% level. The combined market cap of the 10,000 or so altcoins right now is less than half of that of Bitcoin (I am excluding stablecoins and Bitcoin forks from altcoin market cap). This means that the market has now matured from what we had in 2017, and a consolidation phase has started. In the next few months, shitcoins will be removed from the market, and only cryptocurrencies with proper usage will remain.
2839  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ODI cricket and general cricketing discussion [self - mod] on: November 29, 2020, 01:11:06 PM
Australian bowlers were wayward and they knew that India was never going to get there. There was a lot of complacency from the part of Mitchell Starc and Pat Cummins. Starc has failed for the second consecutive match. He is a pace-bowling legend, but his recent performances are appalling. Series is decided now, with Australia leading 2-0. At least for the final match, Kohli can do some experimentation, resting players such as Saini and Chahal.
If they are into experiment mode then Virat should give rest to Bumah or Shami (They are playing all 3 formats) and include Natrajan in the playing squad. Give Saini full series for experience, it was his 7th ODI match so he could use more games.

Hmm.. I guess I have to agree with you there. Thangarasu Natarajan is an exciting bowler and he will add variety to the Indian pace battery. Right now all their bowlers (with the exception of Jadeja) are right-handed and the addition of Natarajan will be like a game changer. No issues in sticking with Saini. He is a promising young bowler, so can be given one more chance in the ODI series.
2840  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Which coin do you trust, BNB or ETH? on: November 29, 2020, 01:01:12 PM
I trust Ethereum more because it's true decentralized compared to many new DeFi projects nowadays, BNB is no doubt a very good altcoin but been centralized and useful only on binance exchange makes Ethereum have better winning tickets here, still I would recommend investing in both projects

DeFi is the next overhyped bubble in the cryptocurrency market. Most of the recent DeFi projects have negative returns, and there are solid signs that scammers have also made their entry to this sector. Obviously the lack of regulations and legal oversight is attracting a lot of shady elements. On the other hand, the BNB valuation is based on solid fundamentals. It is one of the largest cryptocurrency exchanges in the world, and the volumes seems to be increasing with every passing month.
