Bets against Chelsea and United tonight, should be a no-brainer to win one of them right?

Your best chance would have been on Chelsea, but with Chelsea leading conveniently at halftime, and Bournemouth are not looking to be making much threat either so getting back into the game alone will be a tough task, let alone come back from a 2-0 deficit will be very improbable, I'd even tip Chelsea to score one or two goals more.

I doubt Nottingham would even get a to play a draw against Man United, but you if there's money on the line for you, I hope it does happen  Grin so we can push our agenda of Ronaldo wasn't the problem and #Glazersout over again.

Ah well, who was to know the 2 teams seemingly struggling both would manage to win comfortably. Seems like WC players have more form and game sharpness than those who only trained and rested -- as I predicted, but that didn't help my betting.

but yeah, expected some surprises in this round too, everything goes as expected so far, so Leeds should do it tomorrow? just my Toffies lost their home match with Wolves, but that is hardly a surprise from them anymore, relegation fight - it is what it is, said by Lampard

That's what I'm counting on (Leeds)... got odds at 11/1 so I have skin in today's game. And Everton, well, they get City soon too so I also have some money on that...
2822  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: An BTC Assumption on: December 28, 2022, 02:09:36 PM
My first big incident was in the mid 2000s. The service I held funds on was seized. It was my first time dealing with that kind of incident, months and even years of anguish followed as it wasn't just funds I had, but borrowed capital. It's been over 15 years of waiting, if I ever get it back, it's a nice bonus but I've written it off and paid off my debts since.

Fast forward to Bitcoin, I have had similar incidents (all with online accounts using whatever services).

Like jackg above, I quickly move on. Sure, I reached out to support, tried to recover, but I accept that I have all kinds of risks with whatever service I leave funds on and try not to do so unnecessarily.

Even if my savings do end up being lost, I'd move on quickly. No point in hoping.
2823  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Tips: encourage your customers to pay with bitcoin on: December 27, 2022, 10:03:21 PM
Agree with the discounts. It's what attracted me to try spending in Bitcoin (a small discount or cashback or similar in return for the additional inconvenience). It's also what attracted my very first Bitcoin paying clients -- often, especially on larger invoices, 5% off can be quite a savings, especially over long-term contracts.

Don't ask your customers to use third parties that can ask for kyc.

Yep. Terrible idea. And that KYC can get both parties in trouble with frozen accounts. As a consumer/customer I truly appreciate when a website doesn't force me to use Bitpay, for example. It makes my life much harder, forces me to overpay fees and estimate a high amount, forces me to disable RBF (among many other inconveniences!).
2824  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What would Satoshi Do (today) on: December 27, 2022, 07:45:48 PM
We do not know much more about Satoshi but still know that he might be interested more than Just peer to peer transactions. He might have more ideas like Metaverse and other such Web 3.0 technology that might revolutionize in many ways and it could be a future in coming days. So be ready for insane future too.

Yeah, I'd really like to bet money on him NOT thinking of metaverse and Web3 nonsense... one of the biggest clues for me that disassociate Bitcoin thinkers from those buzzwords are... the use of buzzwords like "revolutionise". 9 pages of white paper brilliance and not one mention of otherwise useless phrases like that.

The present's pretty insane as it is from a Bitcoin POV. And it's nice that we overlook that =)

As I have been unemployed for one week officially, I have the chance to follow the NBA matches closely. Every bad situation in life can have a good result. I have started to allocate more time for myself. Cheesy Frankly, you can catch some high odds on live betting after favourite teams get behind their opponent by score. I tried to give you some examples below.

Gave me a shiver just reading that. The last time I was able to take significant time off from my work and life was when I was on enforced holiday (sickness) and that two months was probably crammed with the most reading I'd done since school days (when I read a crapload of fiction, ah the days of no internet). That was when I got into Bitcoin actually Wink

Hope it all works out for you, maybe you'll spread your football expertise into basketball huh? I never followed NBA live, but it seems to move too quickly to get good live odds... (in my mind anyway).
2826  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin 50% Down Move Incoming? on: December 27, 2022, 05:11:15 PM
While I don't think that's likely (I've had my fair share of crosses golden and death... and more!), have to say also we haven't had a flash crash happen -- something Bitcoin's particularly susceptible to in bear markets. It doesn't usually happen within a year of ATH, though, then again, this cycle's keen on chucking away the wisdom of past cycles.

Expect more down crosses first before that flash crash -- and then a powerful rebound. That's what I'm gritting my teeth for, but not just quite so soon as the week of Bitcoin's "birthday"...
2827  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sportsbet.io's English Premier League Football Pool Discussion Thread on: December 27, 2022, 04:05:48 PM
Yeah, too lazy to tag individuals but overall agree with Liverpool and Arsenal comments, Bajcetic in particular, he was a handful in EFL previous to City but I thought too early to call, Elliott currently still sets the bar in terms of youngsters left... Nunez has a way of dragging shots I noticed, so he's still getting used to rushing up to play (as opposed to waiting for service in Portugal), I'm still giving him time, the way we needed Bobby to as well.

Bets against Chelsea and United tonight, should be a no-brainer to win one of them right?
2828  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Testimonial during cryptocurrency hearing -Ben McKenzie Crypto is a ponzi scheme on: December 27, 2022, 03:07:47 PM
While I can't really blame people for making these kinds of statements because of the FTX debacle, it's always dumb over-generalization.

In the video, I hate how he looks so smug as if his opinions were something new and something so groundbreaking; because if anything, it's the common opinion.

Yeah, bet he was practising in front of the mirror for a long time, but it's easy to preach to the choir, and that's more or less what he was doing.

One thing I do feel, though, these hearings at least get the popular opinion out there and provide the grounds for myth-busting and disproving, which is what Bitcoin (unfortunately or not) has been steadily doing.

Once you win people over, the converts are more useful than those who bought in from the start (I'm a convert, so I have no qualms in saying this).
2829  Economy / Gambling / Re: 🚀-Sportsbet.io-🚀 - Main sponsor of Southampton FC 👋👋 on: December 26, 2022, 10:50:19 PM
Arsenal yes, Saints nope. Want to say Spurs surprised me but they're hardly a stranger to inconsistent results, are they? And Gunners fighting back with 3 quick goals (Saka!!), not missing Jesus at all.

@buwaytress (or someone else) have you already been able to claim one prize since the launch of this promotion? What reward did you get please? Because the prizes we can win are not mentioned in the Terms & Conditions neither anywhere else and I have no clue of what they could be. 150mbtc in one day is not an amount I regularly wager there, so I'm curious if this promotion could be interesting for me or not.

Afraid not. Just haven't had the time this holiday season to do even more than just a couple of sports bets here and there. I do remember the last time I did this kind of drop, the reward was about 5-10% of the wager amount, in the form of a freechip. But you might be able to get an answer from support or from someone in Club Talk.
2830  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sportsbet.io's English Premier League Football Pool Discussion Thread on: December 26, 2022, 07:26:56 PM
Brentford definitely knows how to start a season (or restart) yeah. Liverpool surprised me, going all out and on all cylinders. Fun to watch but I'd really hoped they went for game management after 2 goals up, but maybe Klopp is demanding his players to play like they're hungry again.

No matter, 3 points and we steady the ship, and Salah adds to his tallies.
2831  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: EFL English Championship League 2022/2023 on: December 26, 2022, 06:01:56 PM
Rovers and Watford both failed to cut the gap to the top, they'll be sorry I think -- and the worst for me is I picked them both instead of Blades to get sound wins. Burnley tomorrow will want to ensure they keep their cushion, if only the odds were better, I'd be backing B'ham City here but not even 6/1? Easy pick for Burnley on my next acca... but I've already added Norwich to a new one =D
2832  Economy / Gambling / Re: FORTUNEJACK.COM |Deposit 777 play with 1777 mBTC |Live Casino, Slots, Betting on: December 26, 2022, 04:56:07 PM
Not bad. Spurs didn't win, but Kane did get on the scoresheet, so I got that one easy. Then Newcastle stepped up and Almiron got his goal (so glad that he's not yet found a way to stop scoring after the break!), and that was probably my quickest 2/7 this entire season.

Then everything went to nothing after that. I stuck with JWP for so long, changed to Che Adams and he scores tonight -- after missing a penalty.

Of course, we all missed Mitrovic "easy pick" -- honestly thought he wasn't even playing but pops up with assist + goal. Figures!

2833  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sportsbet.io's English Premier League Football Pool Discussion Thread on: December 26, 2022, 02:37:14 PM
Spurs. Suspect in the best of times, and suspect in the worst of times. Before the break, they were the UCL Real Madrid team performance of the league, playing their best football late. Did the same to claw back 2 goals, Kane as usual on target.

Yet I still had the balls to go for 3-1 heh.

Trofo and igehhh, feeling proud of yourselves?
2834  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🦊 Betnomi.com | FPL Football Pool ⚽ Discussion Thread on: December 26, 2022, 01:57:42 PM
Last night, I thought I'd go and do everything before waking up, but lack of sleep and stomach being filled up to my throat meant that I put it off till today. Ended up waking up late and rushing to do everything else, thought I'd make it back in time but Spurs game started already.

Jesus was still in my team (haha) so he's now out and apparently TAA also ill, but I'll take my chances.

Second chance is cool, I need to sharpen my FPL prowess and it's a perfect chance to see if I can manage THIS time around! Still hoping to make it back in time to see second game, looks like Brentford is putting on some kinda show but man I feel so football starved!

Damn it..!

I thought I'd be getting home in time today, knew they'd be specials and I'd have taken the corners in each game! Restarts means everyone who's fit is full of energy, almost like 1st game of the season.

Hope you guys managed to throw some hats into the ring.
2836  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sportsbet.io Betting discussion thread rev on: December 25, 2022, 08:04:49 PM
It has been there for a while and seen it as a placement holder all this time. Because 1.01x isn't really a bet to place on anything other than to gain experience points on a casino to upgrade to a vip level they are offering or to get some sort of reward for reaching those levels.

I dont think this is the case though. I mean who in their sane mind would bet on something for 1.01x odds and on top of that, its like 99% chance to lose the bet at this point. Heck yeah, the current btc price is at $16,815 (according to cmc) right now and I wouldnt even want to put my money on 1.01x odds even if the bet is for btc to hit $16,900 by 31 December

At this point, I think sportsbet just want to do some harmless trolling or whatsoever by putting that up  Grin

Heh, I think I was one of the "idiots" who placed bets on the very first one, which was something like $100k BTC price by Christmas 2021 (pretty sure that was it). Just for fun, obviously at disadvantaged odds but that was just some delirium-induced bet.

Definitely a placeholder for SB, maybe just to keep the specials section alive and remind themselves of heights yet-to-be-reached.

Troll Steve.
2837  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoiners kill Bitcoin, and governments are happy, boycott the CEXs on: December 25, 2022, 04:28:37 PM
I don't use centralized exchanges (haven't used them for a few years, at least not those where you store money on an exchange and have a profile), but to me, this topic doesn't have to be so polarized.

Yeah, there's no extreme way to do things for most regular people. Even I still use centralised P2P (Localbitcoins) a lot more than decentralised P2P -- mainly because of escrow and very good dispute settlement, which I would always recommend newcomers to wet their toes in first before trying non-custodials. That's also where I found my personal trusted network of direct P2P so I liquidate and transfer over fiat to myself in literal minutes.

We need to remember that the majority of regular people just want something easy and fuss-free. We're a while away from that without centralised services (not JUST CEXs).
2838  Economy / Economics / Re: The poor people with their reasoning on: December 25, 2022, 03:26:03 PM
What's your definition of "poor" people? What about someone who constantly switches signature campaigns, without actually being a user of the product/service advertised, just to earn the meagre satoshis on offer from campaign owners who won't stick around long enough to be taken seriously?

Would that person count as a poor person, and what of their reasoning for doing this?

You know it's also rich people who lose the most money and most often are victims of scams. Should we be teaching people to be as greedy as them?

When did convincing people to be greedy and "being successful in life" have anything to do with using Bitcoin?
2839  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 99% of People Will Lose Crypto in Self Custody on: December 25, 2022, 02:54:42 PM
Does he still charge 0.5 mbtc for withdrawals?
I think he still is, yes. According to the official source, the bitcoin withdrawal fee is 0.0002 BTC. But just two lines below that, we see an entry for 'BTC(SegWit)' whose withdrawal fee is 0.0005 BTC.

Begs the question, what is 'Bitcoin' and what is 'BTC(SegWit)'. Do legacy addresses belong to 'Bitcoin' and nested/native segwit belongs to the second type? Or does he just consider native segwit as 'BTC(SegWit)' and nested goes into the general 'Bitcoin' category? Who knows Roll Eyes I am not sure my Binance account is still active to log in to check. Anyways, I am not going to do that now and from this device.

The second question I would have after looking at their withdrawal data is why would segwit transaction cost more than legacy withdrawals?

There you go, even can't promise what official source says. Even at that "low" price it's still over $3 per withdrawal, and I remember the 0.5 mbtc fee was too rich for me (not to mention it gets even higher in congested network periods).

It's all moneymaking, there's no reason he'd not want to earn for withdrawals, and repeated withdrawals.

What else could he be afraid of if not that he doesn't have enough for a true "bank run"?
2840  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: BANKMAN-FRIED PANIC GAMBLES TO REPAY DEBT on: December 25, 2022, 01:48:54 PM
Not surprised. Some posts ago I was talking about the lack of any kind of supervision or approval policy that was the real danger of the way FTX was run -- and embarrassing how so many old school peeps invested without checking to see if that was in place. Knew he'd used money to take risky gambles but that was on the market.

To be able to use customer funds in casinos? Damn.
