Its nothing to do with bears in general being 'pathetic'; I was pointing out that TERA got a lot of unnecessary criticism yesterday but it turned out her (?) prognosis was correct.

Why not give some credit where due, rather than blindly lashing out?

TERA is a "Her"? Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked

The first I recall was bja trying to start a rumor months ago.  Not sure what there was to it, being irrelevant to me, but it seems to have stuck.  TERA evades all references.  Just another thread in the tapestry of the 2014 Wall Observer  Cheesy

I was merely providing a possible explanation as to what the "Materials" asset could consist of and where the May funds could've gone. It's well understood AM has been partnering with Allied Control to establish hardware and immersion cooling for potential franchisees, these are the most recent updates that I found. Now it's just waiting to see how it turns out, for better or worse.

The May dividends pretty much exactly fund the June batch.

Alright, it's just waiting to see how friedcat executes in the coming weeks then.

The question will be when this circle is being broken, since every batch needs to be funded. And every single one is bigger than the last one, yet sells for less (difficulty increase). Thus, very little remains to be issued as dividends, if any. FC may very well decide to keep the income in order to ramp up for gen 4.

I expect mining/franchise dividends will begin to trickle in very soon, which would make the picture rosier while profits are being reinvested  Cool

At current prices u can become a board member with around a quarter million now right? Or am I getting these numbers terribly wrong?

simplified: 5 shares for 1 BTC,   5000 shares for 1000BTC.   1000BTC= 650 000. That assumes you could find 5000 shares for that BTC, and 1000 BTC for your dirty pile of fiat.
2844  Economy / Securities / Re: ASICMINER: Entering the Future of ASIC Mining by Inventing It on: June 01, 2014, 07:18:33 AM
Guys, I understand the financial statement was very bad. But do you think it justifies the current prices? The upcoming numbers are still looking pretty good to me, no?

Yep, just lean on dividends.  I'm still  betting on a good summer.  Did some dust sweeping, and managed to increase my position, very modestly  Wink  The way Havelock is trending, maybe I should have waited longer...
2845  Economy / Securities / Re: ASICMINER: Entering the Future of ASIC Mining by Inventing It on: June 01, 2014, 06:35:03 AM
Wow it's getting brutal on Havelock.

There were a couple of people asking about transfer times recently.  Has it been sorted out, or is it a poor time to be moving shares?  Come to think of it, there were more than a few buy/sell offers here...  Any updates?

so he just paid all income from batch 1 for producing batch 2, and all income from batch 2 will be used for producing batch 3 etc?

Yes, that is how I am guessing it will happen. If we guess batch 2 is 20PH being sold at $0.5/gh that would earn ~$10,000,000 which would be enough to purchase 50PH worth of wafers which could then be sold for $25,000,000.

Basically turning $4 million in to $25 million.

*Numbers are extremely approximate but I think it shows why reinvestment is a good idea.

I think the question is, have we entered in an infinite loop of reinvestments, or someday those gains will be paid as dividends?
What happened to those aggressive dividends?

Of course, as time ticks on, and BTC ticks UP  the later the div the lower the BTC denomination.  Maybe even to the point that $10M in BTC NOW will be worth more than $25M in BTC 3 months from now.  Speculation.  But worthy of thought.  Since we don't have all of the information, we can believe that friedcat has maximum shareholder (himself included) benefit in mind, or we can sell to those that do.

Looks like that's the plan. How else would FC pay for those massive batches?

You guys sound pissed, but let's think about this. Mining is an arms race, so you can only sell these chips for so long before the demand is gone and with another company. We can see that demand is currently there based on the multiple companies who are using AM Gen3 chips. We need to push these batches out as fast as possible, then reap rewards later.

Presumably some of the costs of the first batch will not be there with the second and third - CAD Design and device samples stick out, but obviously I do not know the inner workings that well so I may be mistaken on this.

It would also seem that a lot of the costs will be upfront with the first batch and that it should be cheaper to make batches 2 and 3.

Just my thoughts - not looking for an argument, just a discussion.

IIRC, it was implied that production costs were in hand from previous sales, hence the aggressive dividends.  Lost in translation, or simply a change of plans?  Either way it has not been directly addressed.  This is nothing new or panic worthy, but an explanation would still be welcome.  May the aggression begin in the coming weeks as sales increase and mining ramps up!
2849  Economy / Securities / Re: ASICMINER: Entering the Future of ASIC Mining by Inventing It on: May 30, 2014, 07:12:41 PM
Per-share equity is low. If we subtract current losses, it's about 0.03BTC/share.
And that is if they manage to sell everything at current prices, and does not include potential cash conversion problems.
Because of cost principle, inventory should be reported on balance sheet at its cost to produce/acquire, not its market or selling cost. So presuming AM can sell their inventory at a profit (IMO very likely), the net will be a multiple higher than the current inventory asset. How much higher is the question.

Well stated, if folks cannot understand grasp this concept, you have simply thrown away your BTC. friedcat did NOT pay 0.49$/G-0.99$/G to produce, rather that is price he is selling at. Those who acted irrationally by making unfounded associations to the numbers provided will soon wish they had not.

True, I think there has been a lot of emotional responses to this Statement.  I was expecting an "agressive" dividend, or at least a moderate one this month.  If we don't see something in the next few weeks I will have to sell shares for liquidity - and that is a poor proposition about now.  Such is life!   Kiss

DO NOT SEND ANYMORE BITCOINS TO STAMPS
What exchange do you use? I use stamp but I'm feeling like I want some more options right now.

I've used Kraken.com a couple of times and it went well. I think they're much keener on Euros than Dollars though.

What is this about? Why wouldn't we send coins to Stamp? Are they having some sort of issues that customers should know about? I haven't heard anything yet. Lips sealed

If they are even tampering with BTC withdrawal, then it sounds like a good place to avoid.  USD, sure, whatever.  But if you can't even withdraw your own bitcoins then that will be the end for them (I think the US gov't will outlast them in any contest).  New exchanges required!  Or better yet, new (or no) governments.  Greedy bastards.

I've gotta say, this sure is pretty rude of him. He must know that everyone was going to be waiting for this day and to not even mention that there was a delay is pretty heartless:(

If friedcat wants to concentrate on results instead of PR, I am happy with that.  A few days one way or the other doesn't make too much difference at this point.  My personal thought was that the 27th was a typo, and Wednesday the 28th was more likely because... Wednesday!  No Wednesday happy dance in some time, and I'm about ready!
2855  Economy / Speculation / Re: rpietila Wall Observer - the Quality TA Thread ;) on: May 26, 2014, 04:14:42 AM

The previous 'bubbles' ended when the price was at exactly +0.47 log units above trend.

I'd advice selling between +0.4 and +0.45 log units above trend, depending on how much risk/reward you like to see.

The lowest points between the tops has been mostly -0.45 or so below trend. So that would be a good point to rebuy.

What the price is exactly depends on what time we are at, as the log price increases every day.

If the bubble hits when I think it will hit, rptiela is spot on with his $5000 claim. But I'll make my decision on the log units mostly, and absolute price only secondarily, and of course my own TA charts.
Note that in the the last two bubbles, the price when the run-up crossed the trend line was very nearly equal to the price at the bottom of the subsequent slump.
This means that if the repeating bubble pattern holds, the point at which the run-up crosses the trend line is the earliest point at which it's possible to start unwinding your long position without making yourself worse off than you would be if you adopted a permanent holding long strategy.  Some people advise holding as the most sensible approach, but as we've seen, BTC gets severely overpriced at times, so the permanent hold strategy is too conservative, and will actually increase your risk at certain times.  I think it might be a good idea to start selling small amounts as soon as we cross above the trend line.
If you have faith that this bubble will hit the same max with respect to the exponential trend as the last two bubbles did, then you can wait until Bitcoin is heavily overvalued to sell.  But the idea that we are going to have a carbon copy of the last two bubbles strikes me as a little fishy.  It's lax thinking.

Then you must also consider another option: the one where you kick yourself for selling early in fear, and it just keeps going up 2011 style.  holding balances that risk  Grin

Pretty sure I read that all of the first batch was sold/spoken for. That was in April?
2859  Economy / Securities / Re: ASICMINER: Entering the Future of ASIC Mining by Inventing It on: May 13, 2014, 06:57:02 AM
how come the price keeps tanking?

As it's been tanking so long, the bigger question isnt' why someone is selling, but why the true belivers are not snapping up cheap shares knowing about Gen3 release shortly.

And... ponder this..   If nobody is snapping them up now, what makes you think there is going to be a huge rally when the div's come back?

edit:  I'm confused by this myself.. anybody?

Most taking this ride have filled their positions months ago.   It was even cheaper then.
