Hey can someone knowledgable here post a quick synopsis of the situation with XMR LENDING on Poloniex?
I've never done it but just looking around there today noticed that entire section of the site... curious what the actual PROs and CONs are about this.
My XMR stash is basically sitting in a cold address so I'm just thinking maybe put a little of it to work?
That is, as long as the risk isn't too great (?) and/or the reward is worth it (??)
What do you guys think? Anyone around here doing the lending-thing, or have opinions on it strongly one way or the other?
I lend when rates are high. It's not even peanuts lately though. A few husks and some salt, thats it. When rates get above 0.1% consistently it aproaches worthwhile, IMO. Looks like people are starting to short, so keep an eye on it, but not yet. ADD: Don't neglect to consider the PITA getting funds back OUT of Poloniex. |

HR went from 60's to 80's recently. Not double, but it is steadily increasing. Active nodes has been steady over that period, to my observation.

XMR/USD hasn't been to volatile since the middle of march. I dont really mind XMR staying in $21 - 18 area. I do demand alone will bring XMR up to $35 - $40 by end of year summer.

Monero being suppressed while btc is accumulated from p&d shitcoins, so when the time comes, capital can be moved to XMR at a reasonable rate, and removed from exchanges? There's got to be a reason it is largely unaffected while everything else gets massive volume.

I'm still missing how dash is involved.
A falling DASH/XBT or DASH/USD is an indicator that anyone who is short Monero would be wise to pay attention to. Just look for example at what happened in August 2016. First Dash falls then Monero rises. Theoretically one can make a case that the Monero markets are un-correlated to the Dash markets; however there is still a significant amount of emotion on the subject in both the Monero and Dash communities for short term leveraged traders to ignore. Ahh. An oft noted correlation. Thank you for the explanation, I DID take it as an April Fools joke  . Dash is still 3x what it was when my eyebrows started to rise, so there may yet be time for wisdom, if no native affinity, among Monero shorters. I didn’t know the correlation too. Do you know why that is tough? I mean why is there a correlation between dash price rising and monero price dropping? Is there like a eth,etc type of deal between them? What is the history that causes this reverse prices? No idea, just always seems that after Dash goes up and comes down, the capital shifts to Monero. Will it happen again? |

CON (XMR debt) was converted to equity in Crypto Kingdom (CK) in early September 2016. At that time Dash was trading below 1 XMR. Should a similar or more severe crash in DASH/XMR occur in the future Crypto Kingdom will not be adversely impacted at all since it is no longer short XMR. Dash is currently trading below 3 XMR but still has a quite way to go down if is going to test the September 3, 2016, low of 0.671 XMR. I'm still missing how dash is involved. In the Kingdom of Crypto, Dash is the village idiot. The chief window licker. Currently absorbing massive pay cut. |

Given that the only component I am familiar with is XMR, that is the way I read it. CON? really? lol Well, some people call a brand new crypto PIVX...and Consul Bonds seemed to fit in that very particular Risto mindset... PIVX is another ponzi scheme pump and dump no? You don't need open banks for a pump, capital shift from alts is whats needed. Litecoin is not a bitcoin hedge, but they tend to go hand in hand. Expect a dump on alts and a new ath on digital gold (BTC) and silver (LTC).
Can someone explain this theory for me? I see it parroted everywhere. Clearly I've missed something, but to me, selling alts for BTC should have zero effect on BTCfiat markets, unless liquidating, which would bring it down. How would shifting crypto-crypto drive up the fiat price? |

Now that DASH/XMR has crashed, have the CON holders been wiped out?
Or would XMR/DASH have to crash and how does that scheme work?

I am expecting sub 0.018 on xmr now. All alts need further correction I will buy xmr at sub 0.016-0.017.
Are you a relative of the user Adolf from this forum? Because you remind of him and his huge trading knowledge and long year experience in this field. 0.0179 as expected. What happened to I believe monero will correct to 152 -162 over the next week. View the long term chart and we can see that all alts need a strong correction. The only thing expected is that you will have a new prediction in 2 days hours. |

Still waiting on a good reentry point. I goofed, put in a lowball for ripple (shitscamcoin-but thought it was gonna spike) the order never got filled and it's up 170% today. Shit! Well I shorted it lets see what happens. I'm tying to build up some BTC for re-entry by trading these shitcoins, they are massively swinging these days. The dash short I made was fun, I bailed though as I didn't want to get squeezed in that clusterfuck of a market. I'm calling the Monster Dash P&D "The great Masternode exit scam". GOD bad time to short it! just went from 5k to 6.4k, low of 2k yesterday. I think I'm gonna get Rekt. over 7k. Pretty much rekt Poloniex, they can't handle the traffic. It is madness there. Monero just keeps chugging along a downward channel, no drama. I think it's a DDos at the same time the squeeze hit and apparently there were no confirms and people couldn't close positions. I decided to ride it out and went back into the black before another squeeze hit so I'm still waiting it out. My position is small and It would have to double for me to get called. If it keeps going I would not be surprised if other groups took advantage of this to crush shorts. Saw in the TB active traders was up to over 20000 from yesterdays ~8000. That and 115k btc 24h volume on cRipple alone made their systems choke. There's some really upset people over there. Monero in 6th position on volume chart is pretty weird to see. I don't ever recall seeing it that low before. |
