Just updated the site so some of the text was rewritten. Thanks for pointing that out. +1 very good. IFC is too good to have such errors! :-) I will keep my eyes open.

Does the heartbleed bug also affect the devcoin wallet?
What kind of ssl do we use?
The old devcoin client we are still on uses older openSSL(openssl-1.0.0d)... im not sure if older openssl's are affected or not. good as long as it doesn't use openssl-1.0.1 https://www.openssl.org/news/secadv_20140407.txt

bitcoin is still considered worldwide as something extremely geeky. Just talk to your relatives or co-workers about it, and see how much adoption it has... not very much.
Etherium is even ten times geekier than that. It's for the select few bitcoin geeks who actually know how the bitcoin protocol works an who want to build new stuff on top of the blockchain.
So I don't see etherium as competition for bitcoin, ... more like coopetition.

just downloaded the wallet.
Why is there no daemon provided with the wallet?
I hate it and find it unprofessional when coin developpers don't provide a daemon with the wallet too.
with a lightweight daemon you can easily integrate mooncoin into your own projects / payment processors.
See here: https://github.com/realmooncoin/mooncoinmooncoind is there. Edit: Have you tried placing a mooncoin.conf into the data-directory? --> https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Data_directory (replace Bitcoin with Mooncoin). Like this one: rpcuser=someusername rpcpassword=someverysecretpassword server=1 daemon=1 listen=1 ... which works on Linux for the mooncoind (from Github-rep) in a P2Pool-Server. I have just placed a sample mooncoin.conf into the data-dir and right after starting the Mooncoin-1.862.1.exe a message with the normal information regarding rpcpassword etc. opened up - which indicates, that the Windows-wallet could work as a daemon, too. Please report, if it works. Thanks. Well I know how to compile a daemon for linux. I was more asking for a already compiled daemon.exe for windows. With most other coins if you download a windows qt wallet, you also get a daemon.exe in the same package. Why mooncoin doesn't have that, I do not understand. I need the daemon for windows.

So, NMC payouts would be next? SCNR Decided NMC would be better spent on more unicorn blood... [/troll] thanks for your efforts wizkid, now I can relax and watch the first part of season 4 game of thrones... not quite "unicorn blood" but bloody nonetheless. :-) Looking forward to NMC

Can mazacoin be merged mined with bitcoins? I believe Luke has gone on record stating that they don't support alternate currencies except those who might be doing something new and/or useful. NMC is the only one he recognizes as such to date. I don't know anything about mazacoin, but you'd have to get that past Luke, first. NMC is not the only one, but until recently was the only one that supported merged mining. I've been encouraging wizkid057 to add HunterCoin and MazaCoin, but he hasn't had time yet. Ah OK, so a complete reversal of what you've said in the past about alt-coins ... I've always made a distinction between scamcoins and legit altcoins. Isn't DVC also a coin that is merge mined? Before adding MZC wouldn't it make sense to merge mine DVC? (I like MZC and Huntercoin too)

Someone a while back mentioned to take all coins off vircurex because of potential issues... are my coins still safe or should I withdraw? -AM
IMHO vircurex is dead. They have 5-10% of the volume they used to have, so they will not even be able to pay back the frozen accounts of so many customers. Vircurex should really try and get a new design and face, they look very lazy if you ask me. I mean I always liked their simple design, but now that they messed up, they certainly have to come up with some new features to attract customers, because I don't think they know what they do. It makes them look like they don't care.

Stay tuned. I'm hoping to have it done today, but no promises.

okok, I am patient.

Fans are runnig. Everything looks to be just fine, but temp rises on normal mode. Could it be some issue with thermal paste on some module? Ambient room temp 21C
Open the device and see if every part is attached correctly. Sometimes during the transport it could be that some parts become loose.

An advice for the users: When you see high temperature of the CCD 400/600/800, it is caused by air going beside the heat sinks. In CCD 1000 model all boards with heat sinks are mounted. In lower models there are empty places instead - if nothing fills them, the air flows through them and pass by the heat sinks. One can use e.g. paper box to make the airflow go through the heat sinks and the temperature will be much lower.
hm, nice tip, I will try this. I have 1 slot empty
