This may be obvious and I'm just missing it.

Where does one change their password?

What does the selection of public portfolio achieve?

The only way I found to do this was to go to the login page and use the forgot password prompt.  A little unclassy i'll admit but couldn't find another way ?

That is how it was done before. Now that there is a FAQ, (in which it IS listed) there may be another way.

Other than the time(s) when not accessible I have been quite pleased with the overall quality of this exchange.  Not to mention overall quality of listed assets!  Keep up the good work!

ugh. times like... right now...

but yes, overall function is good - when it's working.
2883  Economy / Securities / Re: ASICMINER: Entering the Future of ASIC Mining by Inventing It on: March 09, 2014, 12:57:16 AM
Those were posted 1.5 months ago.

Share price spiked after the announcement(s)

One thing to note is 200 shares were dumped due to a hacker a few weeks ago and then lophie just bohght 100 or so shares from havelock a few days ago.

Havelock does not have enough volume for these high volume trades.

Anyways 0.6 is a steal for these shares if gen3 meets simulated specs.

Thanks for the heads up.

By what calculation is it a steal?

This is life. NOTHING is certain. But the potential dividends and share price increase in the coming months is huge.  Gamble away!  Cool
2884  Economy / Securities / Re: ASICMINER: Entering the Future of ASIC Mining by Inventing It on: March 09, 2014, 12:52:48 AM
Has there been any actual information since FC's last post on the forums?
I don't get the increase in share price. It's as if it was driven by the lack of news and information.

It seems to me like we're all here sitting blind while a select few get access to information and can profit from it. That's not a market I want to be a part of, and that's before getting into whether or not current share price is justified even if AM does deliver and on time.

If you read right here in this thread, even in the last few pages, you will see that the price drove up as one member gave up on fighting the bots and bought shares at market. Others no doubt saw the rise and jumped on, but there is no mystery. Price has stayed in the 5% yield range while awaiting the new release.  There's not much volume to trade, but there's always someone willing to sell to me each week as I reinvest divs  Grin   The longer the wait for gen3 the more I will have when the dividends jump up.  Chill. Or do something else, invest elsewhere.
2885  Other / Meta / Re: Should newbies be restricted again? on: March 08, 2014, 12:31:51 AM
How do you expect newer user's to meet the standard requirements needed to be a high quality user, when we are restricted to posting only once every 6 minutes? Not to mention private messaging is not allowed from what I see. It's saying I've posted already within the last 360 seconds (before this post) and won't let me message anybody. This is my first time online for the past month, having to wait 6 minutes to reply to a PM is pathetic.

Wasnt a problem for me or thousands of other members who were newbs when restrictions were in place...

Well, I won't say it wasn't a problem, but it was bearable, and finite, and in good cause.  Blast away with useless posts in the noob area, and get it out of your system. By then the requirements will be met, and you can contribute elsewhere at will, or be ignored (best forum feature EVER).

We will be helpless cows, milked by inflation and rental payments.

Wrong, I think. Unless 'we' can actually be productive, we will more likely be landfill. Population reduction/resource conservation will be far more important to TPTB than paltry rents. As technology improves, the masses of the great unwashed will have less and less value to those with the power of extermination.  With automated production of goods and many services, and near unlimited energy available, what possible value do YOU have? If you can't be exploited in some service or production capacity, you are a drain on resources. Look around and watch the world accelerate in that direction. 6 billion superfluous persons: goodbye.  Everyone is familiar with the term 'bubble' these days. Human population: BUBBLE.

Ah you are an optimist; you think human cows (aka goyim) are not needed anymore and thus, will be sacrificed. But I disagree:

Government and rich sickos want to have power over people, not machines. Free energy does not lead to utopia, my friend, as long as people can, and want to, have power over other people. In fact it will make things worse. Governments usually abuse modern technology more efficiently than people can use it to protect themselves from that abuse.

Unless you inherit a house, you will live in a tent - a well heated one, of course.
He is not an optimist at all.  He is projecting a m$therf*cking scary future in which most people are sacrificed (or stopped from reproducing?) because their services are no longer needed.  You look at "wanting to have power over people" as a goal in itself, but where lies the utility of that?

The benefits of enormous populations lie in the use of the collective man power and/or brain power. As machines replace men, and computers replace brains, The meat popsicles have no use; in fact the opposite. Unless some Matrix like development can be implemented   Cheesy   But we are all Cylons anyway, and it will all go around again  Grin

But I am dragging this off topic, so I will leave my flights of fancy at that.

Where are you seeing mass newbie posts? They mostly stay in the beginners section from what I've seen.

I have seen & reported a lot since the newbie restrictions have been lifted and I'm hoping Theymos realizes that the 'Freeing of the Newbies' was a big mistake and solves this problem soon, I agree that the Newbie section didn't prevent spam but it did prevent the spamming of boards which I actually read to gather information and join in on conversations. Lately that has been impossible because of the noise to signal ratio.

I'm pretty sure some of the staff members have the same opinion of many of us and hopes a decision is made soon, at least they have figured a way to reduce the spam for the signature payouts.

Well if a post counts as a vote here, I'll add my 2 satoshis.
Restricting Noobs gives them a chance to READ a little, and maybe learn something before asking repetitive stupid questions. Nothing wrong with a request for information, but if it was covered in depth within the last page or two in a thread, for the nth time, you really aught to have read it before asking. I've noted many, many more of these zero hour accounts post-whoring lately. put an end to it!
2889  Economy / Securities / Re: ASICMINER: Entering the Future of ASIC Mining by Inventing It on: March 06, 2014, 06:40:53 PM

I'm in that position right now.  I still have 3500+ shares of AM100 that I've been trying to convert at current market price.  Almost impossible.  But I'm in no hurry.
Yesterday there was a 60btc buy order in for AM1.  Much smaller orders will have the same affect on AM100.

Yeah, I managed to convert all of mine at a profit, but it wasn't quick. Every once in a while, AM100 will go a little above AM 1, with enough room to dump a multiple of 100.
2890  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Official CaVirtex.com Thread on: March 04, 2014, 02:32:41 AM

I agree though, a store front does cost money. Are the high fee's a good thing overall though?  Does it go straight into their pockets or does it strengthen the exchange down the road?

Tough call. lower fees would increase volume substantially I think, but that requires better infrastructure which costs more money. higher fees give more cashflow per volume, but limits trading volume. Canada is a pretty small market. maybe there isn't sufficient volume available to make lowering fees profitable.  Personally, other than catching  crash here and there, I only use Virtex to buy, and occasionally to sell, but not to do much 'trading'. its just too hard to get the spread with the low volume. catch 22 maybe, I dunno.

What is the best candle chart out there right now aside from BitcoinWisdom (which won't load for me these days)?

Hmmm. I believe what I see in my Havelock account may the result of being the beneficiary of that but I'm doubtful as it coincides with stock purchase. What was the timestamp on the deposit?

Maybe AM is so wonderful they reward you for buying shares.  Cheesy

look at the bottom of your Account Overview  page for most recent transactions. Click Transactions in the right sidebar For a full list. Each transaction has a description.

How do I convert Direct shares into AM1 shares on Havelock??

https://www.havelockinvestments.com/fund.php?symbol=AM1

Quote
Importing Shares
There is no fee to import shares. There is no minimum quantity for importing shares.

How to Import Direct Shares:
1. Send an e-mail to fnnirvana@gmail.com & Havelock Investments at
AMFund@havelockinvestments.com with the following message:

”Please transfer (X) of my shares to the Havelock Investments account at 1J5fvfUrDcZj8rrpVHMgn8u7sXee84QkPd --
AMFund@havelockinvestments.com”

Also include the following info:
- Your current ASICMINER share-holding wallet address & e-mail address
- The quantity of shares you wish to transfer

2. If the e-mail address you have on file with ASICMINER is different than the one you use for your Havelock account, you MUST send an e-mail from the e-mail address you have registered with Havelock confirming this import request. If this is the case, please provided a dated, signed message from the host wallet to confirm ownership.
3. After confirmation from Friedcat is received, the AM1 shares will be added to your account within 48 hours or less. Please note that ASICMINER currently processed requests once per week, so some imports may take up to 9 days to fully process.

Thanks. I understood all of it except this: ”Please transfer (X) of my shares to the Havelock Investments account at 1J5fvfUrDcZj8rrpVHMgn8u7sXee84QkPd --
AMFund@havelockinvestments.com” I don't see a bitcoin address connected to my Havelock account. Is that address the same one as this: Your current ASICMINER share-holding wallet address ??

You are transferring your shares to Havelock, who will then control them in your place. They will no longer be connected to any address of yours.  Yes, it requires trust. (or blind faith) So far so good...

recap --

email to HL and FC

include:
   your email
   your address
   # shares to tx
   to: HL email  and address.

then wait a few days or week ~ish  for shares to show up in your HL trading account.

How do I convert Direct shares into AM1 shares on Havelock??

searching for 30-60 seconds on this thread or the Havelock site will give you the answers. it has been discussed thoroughly here today. again.  going back a page or two should do it.

Or did you just forget the  Roll Eyes  ?

+1

PS: Do people hate "+1" comments?  They might seem to be empty of meaning, but I think they matter  Smiley .

I was going to post "Hear, hear" but +1 is perfectly acceptable  Smiley

They are somewhat relevant, but I think when your last 4 posts say nothing else, perhaps you are a post whore, and just make reading this thread that much harder for the rest.  Endless 'me too' and circle jerking posts make me throw up a little bit in my mouth... and exercise the ignore button. To each it's own.
2900  Economy / Securities / Re: ASICMINER: Entering the Future of ASIC Mining by Inventing It on: February 27, 2014, 10:54:07 PM
Guys, I don't want to ruin your little circlejerk party here, but we saw this kind of luck in the past. Its useful to come with conclusion after several days(2+). I personally burn myself once, when I was very exiting awaiting Gen2 and saw this kind of luck.

Haha, you guys are seeing 4 blocks/day and you're so excited about it, that you're writing 2-3pages about it, i don't really want to see what will happen with this thread when Friedcat actually delivers Grin

That's exactly how I took this - wild positive speculation based on no real news. There is going to be a serious squeeze if gen3 delivers at or above expectations. Less and less liquid supply on Havelock as people xfer to direct.

Havelock outstanding shares is RISING.
