Have you set up a new account to log into? If so I think you might be able to recover the wallet.dat.

Hello guys, Ok I have a computer obviously. I had 78 BTC in my wallet. I by accidently deleted my account on my computer which had my btc on it. So now I don't have my btc! How can I get them back? ![Cry](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/cry.gif) Help! Anyway to get them back? Yes or no? ![Cry](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/cry.gif) By "account," do you mean you deleted the Bitcoin client? How exactly did you accidentally delete it, can you remember?

If this is true, the consequences of it will be hard to grasp. But what consequences will it have on Bitcoin? In the coming years?
None, this is decades from being utilized. More likely it's already being utilized and whatever you read in that article is news from decades ago. If you think that the greatest current technological advancements of the present are made available to the public, think again.

+1 Someone703 I purchased two 1 oz. silver coins from him: A 1987 American Eagle, and a Scottsdale Omnia round. Awesome seller! He shipped first, provided tracking immediately, and the coins arrived in 2 business days. Don't think they're uncirculated (he mentioned that and I didn't expect them to be), but they're in very nice condition and he placed them in air-tite cases for me. Thanks!! Would gladly do business again ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif)

I think it's important to mention this:
There are not simply two kinds of suicidal threats (i.e. serious vs call-for-help). There's a lot of gray area, and a lot of unpredictability.
Take the person I met that drank a cup of bleach. They will tell you all about it.
If there's one thing I've learned from working in a hospital, it's that every person who threatens suicide is in a world of problems. You take absolutely every threat seriously because "serious" is not simply limited to the actual act of attempting suicide.

I just received a call back from Austin PD. They can't do anything without direct identifying information. A phone number, a last name, or a street address is what they need. With an IP address they'd have to give it to their forensics unit, so the police can't directly do anything with an IP.
If you can translate that IP into a physical address, then they could use that.
If you have Atlas/Jon's last name, phone number, or physical address, call the Austin PD @ 512 974 5750 to provide them with the information.
His ip can be tracked with websites, but only roughly. I live in southern england and those websites reckon I live in scotland. Give the ip to his isp, boom, they will give you an address. No forensics needed :3 http://www.yellowpages.com/austin-tx/internet-service-providers-ispWhich one? Normally with someones ip on the rough address websites they tell you the isp too, they do with me.. Give me his ip and ill tell you. Mod! Ip logs please? Well, I 'report[ed] to moderator.' Is that the fastest way to get their attention? I'm still reading, but here is where you'll find his address. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=48494.msg577441#msg577441Which is also in Georgetown, TX. That is his home address. Are you 100% positive this is the one to phone in?
