301  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN]F0ME - DEDICATED POS - 90% AIRDROP - 16 ROUNDS - REG NOW on: February 07, 2018, 06:48:19 PM
This is an interestingly structured airdrop, based on the airdrop model launched by DeepOnion, if it will only get half of DeepOnion's success it will already be a WOW.
302  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: US Gov gives cryptocurrency the green light - markets respond with an $83 billio on: February 07, 2018, 06:45:08 PM
I am more and more convinced that what we have witnessed could have been just one big show so as to dump the price and allow some US bankers to load their bags with cheap BTCs... First the FUD everywhere, now the sudden good news..
303  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: ⚡ [ANN] DeepONION ⚡ TOR ⚡ DeepVault ⚡ Cryptopia ✈️ Airdrops 30/40 New Thread ✈️ on: February 07, 2018, 06:42:47 PM
Good to see Onion is doing quite good here. Unfortunately I was not able to participate in early airdrops and will probably miss the rest because I do not have any onion in my wallet. Sigh.

Recently the amount of Onions required has now been halved to just 50 Onions that is required for the airdrop. Now is honestly the best time to get in on the action if you have the spare BTC available to invest in getting those 50 Onions. Plus there is still 11 weeks left to go so if not now you still have a while to get involved if you choose to just now the price is still relatively cheap compared to what can be achieved!

I highly doubt prices will get much lower than they are now.  We just had a major crypto correction that probably cut a bit too deep, as all corrections tend to do, so things are on sale right now.  Of course, its possible that this is just an outlier day where its up but I think we are at the bottom personally.

I agree, during all this market bloodbath DeepOnion's price has been rarely below 50K satoshi - just one short lived visit in the 40K area, and now it is shooting up again. I think 50K satoshi could be seen as a floor now.
304  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: BYTEBALL: Totally new consensus algorithm + private untraceable payments on: February 07, 2018, 06:20:53 PM
The question for Byteball is: should we try and make this process kid-proof? My opinion is that we should not. Working with contracts is something for adults. Of course the process should be as easy as possible and the explanation of the terms and conditions should be clear, but totally kid-proofing it seems near impossible and not necessary.

There is no way to block 'kids' from investing or even trying to claim free tokens.  'Kids' can also be mentally slow adults.  I see a bunch of people complain about Byteball (and all other projects as well), simply because they have no damn clue as to what they're doing.  They read what they want and ignore everything else.  So, when they can't figure out how they just spent $8, they complain the project is at fault and ignore what the transition bot said.  It's simply amazing how many of those 'kids' have no idea what a change address is or how to move coins but actually have coins to even move (without having lost them).  Almost as amazing is how many of those people have $100 worth of coin and willing to pay an $8 transaction, but complain that they haven't received $1000 worth of free coin.  They just simply have no clue and almost no amount of coaching will every help them or even change their mind that something is good or bad, because they've already made the decision in their head that it can't be their fault for having not followed directions.

No, these are reasonable users that the project is driving away by being asinine. Why on earth should users not be refunded when a project-sponsored verification fails do to technical reasons? And why is it a goal of this project to make everything user-unfriendly as possible while making public no plans for improvement? The market's trust in this project is fading because of poor leadership attitudes and I say that as someone with a lot of GB. Tony doesn't seem to care about the price of GB nor the market perception, saying exchanges and "traders" are unnecessary.

Also, will there or will there not be an aidrop in March? What will happen with all the remaining bytes?

After reading of all the failed ID verification and 8$ losses my enthusiasm of going through the process has cooled down - I'm not a clueless kid but I have already experienced this kind of processes fail for technical reasons independent from my will. It is sufficient that the camera of your PC has not with the necessary resolution or that there is not enough light in the room and the process will fail.
A good Market perception in this surreal crypto-space is alas fundamental, by the way. I am sharing the perception that this is a weak point to this day. There's space for improvement.
305  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN]Bitcore- BTX - SEGWIT - lowest fee - hybrid fork 1:0.5 of Bitcoin on: February 07, 2018, 06:02:42 PM

Bitcore banner contest extended by 1 week + prize money DOUBLED

Dear Bitcore community,

Due to a low number of high quality entries for our banner contest, we decided to extend the time persiod during which we accept new submissions by one week.
As a fair counter measure we also decided to double the current prize money. You can now win a share of up to 80 BTX!

All info here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2853718.msg29794282#msg29794282

Your Bitcore team

The banner contest is a brilliant initiative - I see on the contest's page that the deadline would have been today, so I guess that after the extension the next deadline should be for Valentine's day - Feb 14, right?
306  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why aren't there more women in Bitcoin? on: February 07, 2018, 05:52:58 PM
Women are much smarter than men, so: why to make the effort to learn how to make profit with bitcoin, when they can smile to a man :-)

OK, just kidding. Women usually don't like trading because is too much like a videogame, and usually you stay alone in front of the monitor.
But I know some women that are fantastic forex trader, because they mix competence with female intuition, and have very good results.

That might be the reason why there isn't that many women in Bitcoin. Women like to spend money more than making it.

A remark: Women like to make men make money for them. And the funny fact is, it works!

It's an old story which started millions of years ago, and the proof is that men have on average more muscles than women or anyway their muscles produce more force, which proves that women don't really need a lot of muscles if they cans use the ones of the men for the crucial things like finding food, making money or moving a furniture.
Note: Muscles were very useful in the past to provide food, I have to mention that for those who spend too much time in front of their computers and would never suspect something like that.
307  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: I watched my $5000 metamorphose to $2075 :( on: February 05, 2018, 12:06:31 PM
It depends. How long are you planning on holding anyway? If you're not planning on selling soon, then why bother? Dips and crashes has happened multiple times in the past, and will definitely happen a lot more times in the future. It's just up to you if you're patient enough to stay invested. After all, bitcoin is a long term investment.

I think this table should be put as a wallpaper on the desktop of every Bitcoin trader - Lol. Cheesy
But I have to admit that every time the prices collapses and you didn't sell high it really sucks.
308  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Going through HUGE buy wall (7800USD), then bouncing back AFTER the wall is gone on: February 05, 2018, 12:03:39 PM
Sometimes such big walls in the cryptomarkets are so called "fake walls", which means they are put in the order books in order to influence the market giving the sign for example that there is buying support, but then, as soon as someone starts to buy into these walls, they magically disappear as the big order gets cancelled. They are "fake walls" because they are ready to disappear as soon as someone really is going to bite on them. Often, people who are putting a fake wall are at the same time doing the opposite. Example: they put a big buy wall to keep prices from falling down for a while, and then they use this little time that they carve out of the market to actually sell their bags.

OMG this thread is so hilarious  Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy  As I girl I can say guys, though we are few here, we are still here and also making money on crypto. So please still keep at least a tiny bit of respect  Wink We are also S&S which stands for Smart and Sexy  Kiss
Was also wondering has anyone already created a dating topic in off-topic thread. Might be that crypto S&S girls could just charm you  Wink

A dating topic where crypto enthusiasts could look for their crypto-matches in the off-topic category would be quite funny, if the likely disproportion between males and females were not so big. Smiley
Actually this likely disproportion that you point out as the buzz killing factor, can actually make it sooo funny. When I get to Full Member status and have a profile pic, I'll test my theory. Just wait, soon to come a Bitcointalk Dating Thread "Find your Bitmate" ("Bitmate" stands for Bitcoin+Soulmate"). You might think it's sooo girlish to say such stuff but I'm sure some guys will go crazy. It will be like Penny appearance in the BBT effect, I have a feeling. Will keep you updated, sweety Smiley

That's a more than excellent idea, I mean that you keep me updated Wink No, I really mean "Find your Bitmate" it's a truly excellent idea, such that it is even wasted to be used just as a thread. Perhaps we should think at an app and make an ICO instead Wink In which part of the world do you live by the way Julia? If Julia is your real name of course, and not perhaps Igor or Johnny Cheesy

The ICO has finished already two months ago but it seems the bounties have not been paid yet... am I right?

Yes, it is correct. Developers remember about that, they are in the process or reviewing. I'm not sure why do we have such a delay but maybe there are some legal nuances they're working on.

They should probably try to keep an open channel of communication with the people who have advertised them before bad rumors start to spread about them.
311  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN]Bitcore- BTX - SEGWIT - lowest fee - hybrid fork 1:0.5 of Bitcoin on: February 05, 2018, 11:32:15 AM
What time is airdrop dropping today?
It is right time, as always!

I guess he wanted to know at which time of the day Wink It may sound as a trivial question, and to some extent it surely is, but on the other side since we have to register our receiving address to receive the airdrop one has always the fear to have done something wrong, so as one notices that the airdrop didn't come it yet, he looks for confirmation that that this is normal and not because a mistake that he did.
312  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: BYTEBALL: Totally new consensus algorithm + private untraceable payments on: February 05, 2018, 11:23:54 AM
I was not aware of the Byteball wallet on Cyptopia being offline. How long has it been offline already?

As far as I am aware, more than a month already. They upgraded the wallet to 2.0 (it was still 1.7 when they started to look into the withdrawal issues) but apparently the issues have still not been resolved yet. Hopefully Tony can lend a hand.

Cryptopia is having a few problems lately, it seems, also as it regards its relations with New Zealand banks, let's hope this exchange will not crumble. But Byteball would absolutely benefit of being in least another major exchange.
313  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why aren't there more women in Bitcoin? on: February 01, 2018, 11:40:16 PM
We should make a series of video Interviews to men and women asking them questions about Bitcoin, and I guess we would have the answer to your question.
314  Economy / Speculation / Re: India just BANNED Bitcoin? Will BTC now crash? on: February 01, 2018, 11:39:16 PM
India did not ban Bitcoin. But this news has been exploited to create enough worldwide FUD so that actually Bitcoin IS crashing...
315  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why bitcoin is not supported in some countries? on: February 01, 2018, 11:38:08 PM
Bitcoin is not really supported anyway but Bielorussia. Yes, Bielorussia has recently announced that it will encourage Bitcoin related companies to settle in Bielorussia, and that it recognizes Bitcoin.
316  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: To be honest, how many people use bitcoin to invest on: February 01, 2018, 11:36:18 PM
People are now "investing" in Bitcoin just like they would in a casino, just buying hoping the price will rise without any real reason why it should, except for the fact that so many new people are entering the casino and throwing money at the table. Slightly Ponzi in a way actually Wink
317  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BitCoin Is Too Complicated for Average People! on: February 01, 2018, 11:34:49 PM
All cryptos are too complicated for average people, both for understanding how they function, and for understanding ho to actually use the,. This creates some adoption problem. I guess adoption rate will explode only once we will have very user friendly interfaces for mainstream users.
318  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Stop Selling bitcoin folks on: February 01, 2018, 11:33:06 PM
Guys,

Stop selling bitcoin, you are being tricked into a loss. Learn to hold and wait, sell when it gets higher. Stop bringing down
the market.

This call is so sweet from you Smiley
I too hope that the sellers would stop selling, but I am afraid this is not panic selling, this is deliberate and well calculated speculation of big whales who want to buy cheaper coins.
319  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: No future for bitcoin on: February 01, 2018, 11:30:53 PM
The first time that another coin will have a higher capitalization for Bitcoin, Bitcoin will lose its symbolic leadership, and once this is gone, everything can change very fast and the throne is lost forever.
320  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Tether: not even a scam on: February 01, 2018, 11:25:49 PM
It is crazy that nobody yet could audit the existence of real dollars behind Tether and all we have are just the claims that those dollars exist.
