301  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Bahamas Plans To Issue Its Own Cryptocurrency on: June 26, 2018, 07:10:56 AM
“The production of a modern fully digital payment service is the way forward for this era of governance. A digital Bahamian currency is especially important for the many family islands as they have seen many commercial banks downsize and pull out of their communities, leaving them without banking services. As an island nation, where transportation can be an inconvenience for many, especially the elderly, and costly, we must offer financial services digitally and securely,” - K. Peter Turnquest

There are lots of crypto freindly countries now trying to take advantage of the benefits and the awesome technology that blockchain brings to all of us. This would help bahamas residents boost their economy specially when it comes to attracting more tourists that are involve in crypto. I'd love to come in here spending crypto in the near future. This is just one example how blockchain empowers a certain country or sector in the world.

302  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Best coin to buy a cup of Coffee? on: June 26, 2018, 03:36:14 AM
I guess OP is trying to set up a coffee shop that accepts crypto. Correct me if I'm wrong, maybe he wanted to know what crypto is the best mode of payment for customers paying in crypto with less hassle, faster transactions and most likely very cheap transaction fee. You can check the altcoins that have faster transactions speeds and lesser fees. I'm gonna go with doge, XRP, XRB, and nano.

303  Economy / Services / Re: [CFNP] IOS - Signature & Avatar Campaign | Up to $150/week - (Extended) on: June 26, 2018, 03:29:04 AM
Good news Madz is fine. He/Iost team will make an official announcement here within 24 hours

Thanks for the update. Many speculations have risen due to the disappearance of Madz. Some participants, leave the campaign due to uncertainty. The people who were left behind are waiting patiently for the good news and here it comes. You really played a vital role for helping out the participants. We appreciate it very much. Have a great day ahead of you!

Hope that the IOST team will take responsibility for the mess that Madz created. This is a disaster in our part. We did the part of our deal and up until now there's no concrete update on whether we will get paid or are we still gonna continue to promote this project. I know Madz said that the campaign will be extended until the end of June but the problem is, he is not around. What I can suggest to the IOST team is, just assign a new manager that can be trusted and competent enough to do the task needed for this campaign.
305  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Smartphone Wallet is Insecure on: June 24, 2018, 03:27:13 PM
You can use a spare smart phone as a crypto wallet but never install any apps except for the wallet itself. You'll gonna make it as a cold storage by not connecting it to the internet to make your coins secure.
306  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Time to stop using Bitcoin as a form of investment and start using it as payment on: June 24, 2018, 03:12:41 PM
We have FIAT to do those things which is stable in price. Why buy btc and just use it for payments? We do have credit cards and debit cards for our daily transactions. There's no need to use btc as of the moment as a currency due to its volatility in value. Most of us invested in btc because of that main goal to make it as an investment vehicle for us to profit. I'd be a hypocrite if I would say that I'm buying bitcoin mainly for the purpose of making it as a currency. Each and everyone of us do have our own point of view regarding bitcoin whether we use it mainly as a currency or a store of value. At this moment in time, BTC is best only as a store of value and I think it will never be used as a currency due to its volatility.
307  Economy / Speculation / Re: Expected Bitcoin Price Growth In 2019?? on: June 24, 2018, 03:03:51 PM
Now a days bitcoin price is dumping continuously.Based on recent bitcoin market price data how much bitcoin price growth we can expect in mid 2019??

My expected price in mid 2019 1 BTC=30000 USD

What's your opinion??

What I'm pretty certain about the value of btc by next year that it won't go down below $10k. Rough estimation after bitcoin halving will be around $20k - $25k. We can't really predict but we just mainly hope that those predictions that we have in mind will be realized for us to enjoy the profits. Always diversify your portfolio and invest only an amount that you can afford to lose.
308  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why do some people in crypto still wish the downfall of Bitcoin? on: June 24, 2018, 03:01:13 PM
One thing that really surprises me is how some new projects come into blockchain and start spreading false news and making baseless analysis that bitcoin will fail all in the name of making their own project a success. In crypto, we should accept that bitcoin is the KING and anytime bitcoin falls, all other altcoins also fall. I have read news where people were predicting that bitcoin will go back to 1k and now that bitcoin and other cryptos are down, they are changing their predictions to favour bitcoin. This all proves that their plans backfired and they are beginning to realize that when bitcoin is down, most other alts will be down. All these news we spread rather drive away investors and at the end of the day, we all lose. Why can't we unite and spread good news rather than hate one of our own?

It's mainly because they want the coin that they supported to be number one. They just don't understand that every altcoin's value is dependent to bitcoin's value. If the value of bitcoin will fall, altcoin's value will fall as well. Bitcoin is the basis of all the altcoin values so they shouldn't destroy the name of bitcoin for it will help pump up their coin as well.

If you don't complain why are you complaining about me complaining? makes sense? You won't complain to Madz cos you want to scratch his back. Your even the only one giving merits when Madz started this campaign.
Now you are making this personal and we are polluting this thread, so I won't respond to you any more. For your information, MadZ deserved every bit of merit given by me, and not just by me, for example check this post within this very thread:

BTC payments for week 3 have been sent out.

Last week there was an issue where some of the later IOST transactions were rejected by the network. My understanding is this is because of the high volume of transactions coming from the escrow address, despite using the recommended fee. To prevent this from happening again, I have sent around 2/3 of the IOST payments tonight and will send the remaining 1/3 tomorrow, including any transactions from the first batch that are dropped. For those of you who did not receive your week 2 payment, I will also be including that in the batch of transactions tomorrow, plus a small bonus as my apology for the delay.

and there are even more merits given to MadZ from others for this campaign.

Edit: My merits weren't given at the start of the campaign, which is easy to check here https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=merit;u=1938519 .

You're right. We're polluting this thread now. Grin Don't worry its not personal. Just getting carried by the arguements but I'm cool.  Wink Peace man!

Are you out of your mind? We are not paid for 4 weeks. Since from the start Madz is always delaying our pays and delays in updating the spreadsheet. Now you are asking us to be more patient? If we are not patient enough we won't be here this long.
No, actually I'm very rational. No point complaining about the things you have no control over. Because the IOSt team has already been notified and we have been given assurances that the participant of this campaign will be fully compensated. So you have 2 rational courses of action: a) stay and continue posting while being patient, and b) leave. I'm staying, and as far as I can see you are too.

We don't have control over it but we have the right to. Stop pretending as if you don't care about the delay.

I do care, I never said I didn't. I just don't complain about it.

312  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: EXCHANGE HACKS.WILL IT EVER END? on: June 24, 2018, 03:58:33 AM
In the last couple of weeks,we have seen a lot big exchanges being hacked, funds stolen and everyone thrown into panic. The last one being Bithumb (https://cointelegraph.com/news/bithumb-details-still-sketchy-after-30-mln-hack). Is there really a permanent solution to this nightmare by hackers?

As of the moment there's none. As we move forward to the digital era, these hacking incidents will grow exponentially. There are lots people who takes advantage of the vulnerabilities online. Most common factor that leads to these hack incidents are human blunders. Hackers will always find a loophole for them to make money easily. Hope that these people will be put behind bars.

I understand the frustration, but I have to say, I'm not concerned at all. Like you said, the IOSt team is professional enough and I have a lot of trust in them. As for MadZ's absence, there has to be a good reason for that. I only hope that everything is OK with the man. My suggestion is to stay calm and be patient a little bit longer.

Madz has a history of noshowing. But he eventually turns up. He just avoids talking when he has nothing to talk about. IMO thats not a very wise move when handling such a position. But I do trust you guys will get paid.

Hope that we will get paid eventually.
314  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Earn merit by telling us about the dangers in using 3rd party wallets. on: June 23, 2018, 01:47:42 PM
Your private key is stored online and you lose your money if the exchange/wallet is compromised. If you can't access your private key then the coins that you store in a 3rd party wallet is not your money. Worst case, they'll gonna declare bankruptcy and your funds will be gone in seconds.
315  Economy / Services / Re: [CFNP] IOS - Signature & Avatar Campaign | Up to $150/week - (Extended) on: June 23, 2018, 01:39:47 PM
Yeah, I myself am not sure if I should keep posting for this current week or not. Supposedly an Italian moderator of an IOSt telegram or something did manage to contact the developers/admins and they said they would definitely handle it and get us paid for those weeks, but I'm not quite sure about these next 2 weeks. This is such a clown fiesta because MadZ just left the campaign without mention.

They try to reach out Madz but I heard they will be fixed within a week. Any update I will post

Thanks for the updates. So we will still continue posting till the end of June? Any news about assigning a new manager for this campaign?
316  Economy / Services / Re: [CFNP] IOS - Signature & Avatar Campaign | Up to $150/week - (Extended) on: June 23, 2018, 12:25:43 PM
Can someone send a message to IOST team in their twitter account or telegram? This campaign is going crazy and uncertain. I guess they need to appoint new Manager if they really wanna pursue this till the end of June. Hope someone from their team will update us soon.
317  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Emotional Investors ----> Reason Why You Shouldn't Go Panic Selling on: June 23, 2018, 05:29:05 AM
It's really different from this year because of the regulations, FUD and hacking incidents. I just hope that the market will recover from the bloodbath specially the value of bitcoin. I found your post informative though to those who are new into the crypto world.
318  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Countries that are hostile to Bitcoin! on: June 23, 2018, 04:30:28 AM

319  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Banks not responsive to their customers on: June 23, 2018, 03:33:35 AM
I read an article in which the concerned person says that the ICICI bank in India just held his 1,00,000 dollars if I'm not wrong for almost 21 days without releasing the funds. They have just delayed by asking him to provide proof of his link with the sender and other blah blah blah formalities. The user blames that the bank deliberately did used his funds for other purposes and had delayed in releasing him.He has said that he would dedicate himself for promoting bitcoin.

He says that "I really wished I could throw a punch on the banker's face".I feel that almost all the bankers deserve this punch.

Here is the link below.

Banks will really use people's money for profit. That's what they always do. That is why they encourage people with money to do time deposits with them and as a consolation you'll get interests. That is why Nakamoto invented bitcoin for us to be able to stay away from centralized system that is very vulnerable to sabotage and fraud when it comes to peoples' money.

320  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What needs to be ranked as Member on: June 23, 2018, 02:40:41 AM
Hello guys. I have red that in order to be a member you should have a specific amount of activity. I have reached it however I am still not a member.

Can you help?

You are right but you need merits as well. The forum implemented the merit system to lessen the newbies spamming in this forum. For you to rank up to Member Rank you need at least 10 merit points. You can check these links for reference of future ranks that you want to reach. Hope this helps.
