So this is really underclocked tube, nothing new in the unit ?

There are new things in the unit, if others want to believe it or not is another thing.
I was generalizing. Could be new design. I don't know enough. But the main driver for efficiency is more chips at lower load.

Its not.
Enlighten.

They chained chips for very efficient usage of 12v line.

305  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Class action against kncminer.com on: October 01, 2014, 10:28:35 PM
Is a class action lawsuit even possible with regards to where the company is based?

http://sv.wikipedia.org/wiki/Grupptalan

Group proceedings were introduced in Sweden on 1 January 2003 when the Act (2002: 599) class action took effect.
306  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ANTMINER S4 Discussion and Support Thread on: September 25, 2014, 06:55:34 PM
BITMAIN is helping every miners around the world to have their own hash rate, no matter is in home or in the hosting farm. Anything helps the Bitcoin network safe and strong, BITMAIN will do it.

Agree.
Like said before BITMAIN in only succesfull home miner manufacturer of 2014. Early year was of blast, too easy, times have changed.

I dont consider SPtech miners home miner friendly.
307  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ANTMINER S4 Discussion and Support Thread on: September 25, 2014, 06:52:48 PM
sorry Bitmain, not buying, too expensive, and there is no way I can ROI even in cheap place like Canada where it's cold and electricity is cheap. Thanks but no thanks.
even if electricty is free, with the last 10 difficulty level, that s4 will never ROI, i think you know that too , dont you ?

Nothing will. It's impossible to manufacture Mining equipment with current BTC level and costs of produce them. Market has hit turning point. too much hardware is manufactures to push the difficulty level. Manufacturer must pay the bills and get the return for the hardware produced. The risk of mining is at miners end.

10x +15% difficulty hops and game will change.

309  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ANTMINER S4 2TH/s, Batch 1 on Sale this week, shipping before Sept. Ends on: September 20, 2014, 10:01:13 AM
1 psu maximum of 1200watts is only economically viable way to make the miner. Downclock the current chip enough and youll have 2th miner.
310  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: 【ACTIVE】AntMiner S2 Tech Support- 4300 units powering stable 4Peta GHS on: September 03, 2014, 08:13:51 AM
UMISOO Round 1 4Peta GHS is generated by 4300 units of AntMiner S2, which are deployed in Shenyang China.
Miner shows in the Hosting farm  Tongue

Haha very nice farm. More reasons why individual mining is dying  Shocked
311  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Black Arrow 28nm 100Ghash Bitcoin ASIC from $0.49/GH/s on: July 10, 2014, 07:42:25 PM
Uncharted my ass. You can't throw a rock in Shenzhen without hitting somebody who can design these PCBs on time.

Haha. Made my day with that. Fact!
While all these western companys fail to design and ship out these simple boards with their fancy chips. Shenzen scene kicks ass. Shenzen still have lack of very cheap Asic chips but Innosilicon could drop price on their 28nm chip and flood the market. Friedcat..
I have personally visited shenzen factory scene and its something you cant imagine.
They can make anything. Cheaper than rest of the world. Miner can be made with 100$ excluding chips + psu. Shipping for average weight 20kg miner is +100$

Still much profits in mining industry but it all flows to manufacturers and owner of Chips design.

See ebay item I dont know how Cheesy Cheesy but they have more pictures of the S3 than Bitmain itself

Bitmain,

Any chance of getting some pics of the business end of an S3?  I would like to see the connectors, etc. so I am ready to plug in when they start shipping.

You guys are just kidding about the July 10 (if not later) date right?  You are really planning to box em up and ship on the 5th or 6th RIGHT?? lol

ig

Looks like that is Bitmain factory ebay account.

its shipping label from my miner

Unfortunately that will just be the freight forwarding agent.

+1

Shipping from china:

Its always agent company who will do forwarding from shenzen china to HongKong DHL terminal. These shipping agents gets lowest faires from DHL.

At worst scenario they gave miners to agent and paid cash... so you are looking a guy named Ali in Shenzen at that point.

@nixon

OMG what bad news ! September, 2014 ??

Please tell us what is your order number in order to compare  ?

Mine is #3876 from December 4, 2013

Order number is 31** I believe it does not matter. They were giving me a random inforamtion about refund queue for over two month now. It had over 20 people a month ago, this monday it was 9 people in front of me and today it is again around 20 people.

I'm just curious if anyone in reality have received a refund from them in recent weeks ?

Can you update what was price of 1TH Bitmine miner back in December. It has changed so much.

Anyway its now clear what ever the price was eaven 2TH wont mine it back. At the same time Bitmine.ch is trying to mine it back to pay refunds  Grin

Its now evident Bitmines only incoming cashflow to pay for salaries, operations and some refunds is gonna be from mining income which is rapidly declining as difficulty skyrockets. They have no competitive product and they are paying huge premium to innosilicon for chips. Bitmine.ch cannot compete with other vendors and their miners. I would not bet much that this company is operational in September 2014.

316  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: [WORLDWIDE]Bitmine - 950 GH/S 1500 USD - Next day delivery. on: June 25, 2014, 05:43:06 AM
I ordered 8 miners and they never shipped anything and won't respond to emails.  Fucking scammers. But the police are now looking for Ali....

No result in this yet?
They were good startup but went to scam pretty soon.

All these middle man suppliers claim... no reason to use Escrow. I'm so happy when i jumped this ship i chose to Escrow. Got my money back from Ognasty.

What other business you get such a profits for few million $ investment.

You are joking, right ?

Yes I am.
Take preorder $ and mine with the clients equipment in datorhall for 6 months is best way.
Past days KNC doubled their blocks found.
318  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: June 22, 2014, 03:28:47 PM
https://bitcoinwisdom.com/bitcoin/difficulty

Very cool to see how KNC + Bitmaintech are deploying new hardware in past days. Haha there will be +30% difficulty jump.
At enterprise level bitcoing mining is way too profitable for this thing to stop. We will see +20PH deployed in weeks

What other business you get such a profits for few million $ investment.

320  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: The last Batch of AntMiner S2 1TH/s Miner, $1850 per unit, Shipping on June 26th on: June 19, 2014, 10:38:16 PM
what are the s1 upgrade specs/price?

Bitmain have never said that it will be possible to upgrade the S1 so not sure why so many people think it will be.

It's still unknown what the upgrade path will be for S2's but it's likely to be just replacement blades, and it remains to be seen how good a deal it will be.

You won't be able to swap 10 blades with the ones from the S3 as the power consumption will be too high, so it's either going to be different blades with underclocked chips or fewer blades say 4 to match the 1000w PSU.

Reserved for Q&A

1. Will there be upgrade parts for S1 and S2?

Yes, there will be. But we still need to solve some production/testing problem before we finalize the plan and public it.

S2 is 640pcs 55nm chips at 1000w
S2-->S4 could be upgradable with 90w blades of new chips. 9 chips per board 10w per chip and wut aroud 160Gh from each board and you get closer to 1,6TH miner with same thermaldensity and 1000w power consumption. Cooling and psu needs stay similar.
OR tuning up do the same with 8 chips per board.

Also design allows you to upgrade blade by blade. Manufacturing just the blade is supercheap when only real cost is the 9 chips. Rest of the blade is worth 12$ at mass production level. S1 and S2 blades are diffrent by design. Still both are very very simple and cheap to make.

1BTC S4 upgrade kit of 10 blades. haha I'm just tossing out some numbers here.
I could see myself paying 1BTC for upgrade..

Customer would get 60% increase in mining power with upgrade path. Upgrading blade by blade.

Long frogotten video how S1 blades are assembled.
