301  Economy / Speculation / Re: What would happen to price if someone would buy Bitcoins with 1 Billion dollars? on: October 24, 2013, 08:38:52 PM
I would happily sell someone a billions dollars worth of bitcoins. Any billionaires out there, feel free to PM me.
302  Economy / Speculation / Re: $10 VS. $10,000 - What Say You? on: October 24, 2013, 08:06:13 PM
1k or 10k are much more likely than $10.

$10 (or less) will only happen if there is some major flaw discovered in the protocol.

Its possible that we're cooling for a bit and maybe even go lower a bit before a new rally starts. It takes a little time to get the drive back.

Consolidation never hurt anyone.
304  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bear is trapped on: October 24, 2013, 02:13:47 PM
Thank you bears for some cheap coins. I need it more than you.
Hope you are now happy with your fiat. Now go and buy extra Big Mac with your "profit".

Translation: I bought above 200 and i shit my pants.  Lips sealed

Me thinks you need to do some work on your translating skillz.
305  Economy / Speculation / Re: The Bubble Popped on: October 24, 2013, 02:12:27 PM
The only thing that really happened was that some folks who think bitcoin is just another market that you use Wall Street strategies for got their clocks cleaned.

The only people selling at $160 and $155 were wonks and day-traders that had stuck in stop-loss orders. Now when they wake up in the morning, they can look at their balances, and then climb back into bed and cry into their pillows because they got their pockets picked.

Bitcoin trading is not Wall Street, and if you try that crap eventually you will get eaten.

+1

I woke up this morning and it's the same price it was yesterday morning.

What bubble, OP?

Seems more like a classic bear trap to me, and you caught yo' foot caught  Grin Grin Grin

Same experience here.

Looking back, the dip is pretty deep.  The quick recovery encourages me as a perma-long-term-bull.

$211.42 Is the magic number = 2.5 Billion

The important thing is that you posted three times in a row.

It's late, I'm bored. Bitcointalk is my only friend right now.

I'll be your friend.

There is a strong correlation with upward price movement and Gox's incompetence.

Oddly enough, the same correlation exists for downward price movements.
310  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin rises, litecoin plummets on: October 18, 2013, 08:28:34 PM
I think there is room for a 2nd alt currency

If there is room for a 2nd alt currency (which I doubt there is), then it'll actually have to do something dramatically different than BTC. Altcoins thus far, even the popular ones, do very little than change a few settings in the bitcoin protocol.  LTC provides NO (zero, zilch, natta) benefit over using BTC besides giving emo-sad miners a chance to scam a few chumps into buying it from them.

price is going up in a parabolic fashion on gox what should we do?
I wonder if it's that Bitcoin is going up in a parabolic fashion, or if people are losing faith in fiat currencies in a parabolic fashion?

More likely the latter. There are a lot more people out there who are acceptable to the idea of bitcoin before losing faith in fiats.  The two ideas are not mutually exclusive.  When we reach a saturation of the world popularity with acceptance of bitcoin then we can discuss other reasons for price increases.

I have always felt that most price increase in bitcoin has been due to increasing acceptance.  Crashes, on the other hand, can be tied to very specific events Cheesy
312  Economy / Speculation / Re: What if Gox runs out of Bitcoins? on: October 18, 2013, 07:57:10 PM
What happens to the price in USD when it is just as difficult, if not more so, to withdraw btc as it is fiat?
Simple. The only thing left would be sending btc into MtGox. That would make the price drop. Probably it would lead to a situation where in the end, MtGox/USD would be lower than bitstamp/USD.

Who would be foolish enough to send coins to Gox in the above scenario? Fiat is still stuck there and now it would be clearer than ever that Gox is in fact bankrupt. I think we would see price stagnation and close to zero volume.

I don't know why anyone has used Gox for any reason for the past year, but they still do.

Price stangation and zero volume on Gox maybe, but every where else will certainly see some excitement.

314  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer - MtGoxUSD wall movement tracker - Hardcore on: October 18, 2013, 12:33:21 AM

315  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Please take this $16,600,522 before the government gets it... on: October 17, 2013, 07:10:16 PM
Well i would take it, ONLY IF I KNEW HOWto escape FBI,CIA,NSA,NASA and the whole US army who wants me to give their coins back

Seriously is it even possible to take thoose coins Huh

If it is, Bitcoin is finished.

True dat.

It really is funny how these crazy types are so scared of the "guvernmint" that they are wiling to destroy themselves just to spite them.
316  Economy / Speculation / Re: Today was an historical day for Bitcoin on: October 17, 2013, 01:54:22 PM
Coincidentally, the Germans also asked the Banque de France, which also holds significants amounts of German gold (or does it), and they similarlu refused and stalled. Shortly after, the French found it necessary to get involved in the minor conflict in Mali for no clear reason.

Mali currently produces the largest annual amount of gold in the the world.

Then why are they so poor?

I'm pretty sure that while the gold comes from Mali not a single person from Mali "owns" the gold.
317  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Silk Road Hollywood Movie on: October 17, 2013, 03:56:09 AM
i hope they get the story straight and show how the FBI framed him for those hits that never happened.

It won't get the story "straight" no matter what.  Not because of any government conspiracy or whatever, but rather just because real life is reaaaaaaaaaaaally boring compared to movies.  I'm sorry kids, but that's just the way it is.
318  Bitcoin / Press / Re: 2013-10-16 Silk Road Movie on: October 17, 2013, 03:52:51 AM
This seems a little quick, heh.

Nah, as soon as I read the first details of the bust I was like, "This is gonna be a movie". I do believe that H-wood is so desperate for plot ideas that they'll latch onto anything the second it hits the press.
319  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer - MtGoxUSD wall movement tracker - Hardcore on: October 16, 2013, 04:58:30 PM
this is nothing. the real fun is coming this evening.

Why do people even post this garbage? Its not funny, informative, or interesting. Every time something happens, some loser posts this same shit. Fuck you.

This could pretty much apply to every post in this thread tho.
320  Bitcoin / Press / Re: 2013-10-16 TGB: Bitcoin Climbs to Highest Price Since April, Led By CNY Movement on: October 16, 2013, 04:04:57 PM
I am so annoyed with this china story.

somebody should dump already.

lol, seller's remorse?

nope, I feel pretty good actually.

I just get fed up quick with those stories.

Maybe stop reading them I guess? Just a thought.

Do you also sit around listening to Katy Perry on your iPod and complain how sick of her you are?
