301  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][EXCHANGE] Poloniex - Crypto Exchange with BTC/NXT on: May 14, 2017, 07:18:18 PM
Somehow I have a gut feeling that Poloniex might recover from their "growth pains".
One Moderator said Poloniex has all together 40 000 users..
The rise of bitcoin has attracted newbies to crypto which has been spilling over also to Poloniex.

Some of the loans that were stuck with me has just been repaid... The lending market looks still strange though (as there has been for a while a high bid and low asks which has not been met).
302  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][EXCHANGE] Poloniex - Crypto Exchange with BTC/NXT on: May 13, 2017, 09:11:56 PM
I think in moments like these putting bids under the market price it has a good chance to get filled on these sudden dumps caused by the panicers and FUDsters.  The best chances are in the coins that are margin traded since those tend to get the biggest peaks/deepest valleys.

In Stellar (for instance) there was some nice arbitrage opportunities but to fully utilize them you need to have also the underlying coins in the other exchange so that the pauses on withdrawals will not screw your trades.
303  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][EXCHANGE] Poloniex - Crypto Exchange with BTC/NXT on: May 13, 2017, 08:52:44 PM
I put some bids to the alts in case there is a panic... I put my bids on prices I am willing to take the coins (and no need for cancelling the bids).
304  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][EXCHANGE] Poloniex - Crypto Exchange with BTC/NXT on: May 12, 2017, 02:46:21 PM
Correct me if I am wrong but a lot of newbies entering into crypto nowdays. Coinbase is also having issues these days and they are also regulated heavily.
You know, if crypto gets a sudden influx of new money there will be tons of issues/manual verifications etc. so my recommendation is just to be calm and patient... And do not keep the bitcoins on Poloniex you are going to sell, and if you want to speculate on bitcoin price, also Poloniex is offering a tool for that (tether).

Funny that with me all the withdrawals are working just fine... I wonder if you are holding a short position and thus fear mongering?  Roll Eyes
306  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][EXCHANGE] Poloniex - Crypto Exchange with BTC/NXT on: May 10, 2017, 03:20:39 AM
Also one possible solution for issues in withdrawals taking a few hours is the fact that Polo holds your coins in cold storage so that the coins are safe - and as you know it takes time to transfer bitcoins (first from cold storage to hot wallet and then to the customer).
I still have faith in Poloniex as the most trusted exchange in alt coin scene, but UI is not the best possible and in my opinion they should do something to it asap - they have money to do miracles with these daily volumes.
307  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][EXCHANGE] Poloniex - Crypto Exchange with BTC/NXT on: May 09, 2017, 08:08:33 PM
Withdrawal worked fine with me within my withdrawal limits.

In my opinion people should be a little bit more patient. It is obvious Polo is dealing with huge traffic right now, currently online over 30 000 users and probably a fair share of them are executing trades so the site becomes slower. Not to say it is better in slower days...

In my opinion, Poloniex has still too many useless coins from which they should get rid off so that the site might work at least a little bit better.
308  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ARGUS just implemented Segwit+masternodes !!! is this the next X100 coin on: May 08, 2017, 04:24:24 PM
A SCAM!!! Beware.
No future and all the money invested can be considered as lost (still waiting the coins the developers to refund to people lost in the hack/attack)... They promised refund on 19th of April...

Just tell me what to do with this fine project (and my stake therein)?  Smiley

Settle youre multiple dept laden positions, maybe??

GIVE me some actionable suggestion as to the particulars, kind Sir.

Despite the fact that I have not been lending to you any money (lending money without a collateral is stupid in my opinion) I would suggest you to start working your ass off.
Start renting rooms from your castle via airbnb or any other venue.
Then make an auction that the person willing to take the biggest loss will get first paid, the second biggest loss taker will get paid after him/her etc.
310  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Polo To Face Class Action Suit on: April 30, 2017, 11:19:29 AM
The fact that there are sells before delisting may not be a proof it is Poloniex that sold. It might as well be some large trader exiting their position. You need more solid proof that it is Poloniex that sold before announcing delisting. And, if a project/coin is decent the announcement of delisting it from Poloniex should not affect on the price. Delisting from one of the exchanges is not that big deal in my opinion.... By the way, how do you know it is not Poloniex that caused the dump? A lot of selling was taking place upon the announcement.
311  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Polo To Face Class Action Suit on: April 30, 2017, 10:44:43 AM
VOX is almost at the same level now as it was prior to the announcement... I do not see any valid reason for whining. It is obvious that Poloniex will get rid off their Voxels they have collected as fees before they will delist it.

My advice is that if you think the price is down, then buy and do not whine. If it is expensive, then sell.

It is good that Polo will focus on quality and leave the shitcoins to other exchanges.

Personally I am happy for removal of shitcoins - it makes Poloniex userface more userfriendly as there is less traffic. Actually if I am not mistaken, I have sent them a suggestion to start removing all the shitcoins from the exchange.

I am glad Poloniex is delisting the crab. I am not sure if I am the only one but I have problems with Poloniex user interface - it is sometimes pretty slow and clumsy - probably one reason is that there is so much crab listed so better to get rid off them and focus on a few quality coins and offer them high liquidity and margin trading opportunity.
313  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: April 25, 2017, 03:52:03 PM
I am pretty relaxed when I watch the gradual decline of Monero as I do not own that many coins anymore.
If I had still bags full of Moneros I would be in pretty bad situation these times as the price is sliding down.
And funny thing is I do not feel any urgency to buy back in. The price is still relatively high compared with the status quo and non-existing marketing. Some would call Monero is over priced.
314  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [FCT] FACTOM - HOW FACTOIDS WORK - PRICE SPECULATION on: April 08, 2017, 06:16:55 PM
I bought some Factoms. A nice coin - price rises slowly but barely nobody pays attention to it... An investment for smart money nowdays.

Are you sure nobody is paying attention to  it, Factom is one of the most traded Altcoin in the space and the price has been enjoying steady rise and I think the will continue as more development goal is reached. Factom is not a pump and dump coin that is common in the space

Well, instead of community circle jerking each other the price rises, and the rise without hype is a sure sign of smart money moving into it.
Before I wrote this post, the recent post was made into this thread on Oct. 13th 2016 so like 6 months ago....

I think Pepe has surprisingly well thought system.
In real world, when the central bank wants to hoover money from the markets it starts selling their assets and when the central bank is willing to do some quantitative easyning it buys assets from the markets.
In Pepeconomy the central bank is anyone owning both cards and coins. If you want to increase the value of Pepe cash, you sell cards for Pepecash and hoard them (= hoover money from the markets). On the other hand, if you want to organize a quantitative easening you buy Pepes (give the money to the Pepeconomy).
317  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: March 31, 2017, 01:02:25 PM
I might consider buying some Moneros when Pepe cash breaks 1 usd mark.
I do not care if Monero costs 0.05 by then because it is only 2-3 times the current price - I can afford that.  Grin

For Risto, perhaps you will get also some love if you have some Pepe cash as it says in this song: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6GpkI0FtzhE
318  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] VOXELS (VOX) | The Official Coin of Virtual Reality and Voxelus Platform on: March 31, 2017, 12:45:02 PM
Following. (I am a passive holder here, BTC65 invested. Time to start reading about it.)

(See my new project Markka: just hit $10 mil, #40 in Coinmarketcap! wohoo)

Investing 65 btc and then start reading  Grin risky move i like it.

When you have some skin in the game you will be more interested I guess.
I will also start following this because of Risto.  Grin
I am waiting for Risto's commentaries on this and if the price is good enough I might be buying also a small postion (probably like 1 % of Risto's position or so).  Cheesy

Good fundamentals + crap meme = doge = short term hype followed by crash

Pepe is a crap meme also, it does not have universal appeal, those pushing pepe want your money, don't be an idiot. If you really want a sustainable long term decentralised asset look for things with universal appeal.

+1
afaik there isn't a pepe game to play, just collect the cards, and that'll get boring pretty quickly. Pepe is a ponzi, so some will make some $$, but most will lose.

A better alternative is Crypto Kingdom, it has a purpose, same appeal as Monopoly game with social network like Second Life, plus it is backed by XMR, so if you play well you can earn real value. Online monopoly has universal appeal, from 5 yr and up, no gimmicks needed, and for those who want it they can immerse in medieval world of knights and castles and wizards and quests etc, but not required, Crypto Kingdom can be blend of business and pleasure, player decides what they want to focus on. Once bitcoin deposits accepted and money 'M' gets listed on an exchange, Crypto Kingdom will take off big time, and appeal is obvious, not based on a meme.

If you are really Alpha and own all the Pepes you are the one who tells others at what price Pepes are sold.
Be Alpha and buy Pepe while it is still this low in marketcap. I am not saying it is too late to buy when the marketcap is 200 000 000 usd but I think it is better now to get some for cheap price. You get more coins for your bitcoins and thus it is easier to gain larger stake from the network.

What is your opinion guys, what are the odds of reaching ATH in terms of bitcoins? In fiat it is trivial assuming the price of Monero stays at current trading range but that is more thanks to the coming rise of bitcoin rather than the strength of Monero.
In my opinion, the odds are not that good but I am interested your opinions..
