301  Economy / Economics / Re: Does this mean Cash will be extinct? on: November 14, 2017, 07:57:26 AM
Sweden is contemplating to stop using cash by 2023, does this mean cash might be extinct if other countries follow suit?

https://www.weforum.org/agenda/2017/10/sweden-could-stop-using-cash-by-2023?utm_content=buffer40bef&utm_medium=social&utm_source=twitter.com&utm_campaign=buffer
Whats good for Sweden(if it would do them good) may not be good for other countries when it comes to eradicating cash. Especially on third world countries who can not do away with transactions that involves the flow of cash
302  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What to do when prices are falling on: November 14, 2017, 07:24:23 AM
Hello. I have a folio of BTC, ETH, NEO and some alts. I've been watching at Bitcoin since 2015 but bought only at this summer (and the last move was quite bad, I bought some BTC for $4600). I try to study, watch vids, read forum and twitters. Chris Dunn has a vid on the topic but nothing really specific. I'm interested in some ideas about what to do when prices are falling.  Sell alts and hold bitcoin? Short? (and if yes, so the next question is how to learn how to short?).
Well it is best to hold and keep our bitcoins at the moment. Buying bitcoins can also be an option but i myself would only acquire a minimal amount because if worse comes to worse i would only acquire minimal loss. Hopefully prices will bounce back in the days to come

The stock market is 70% overvalued ... crash now inevitable

Author Charles Dickens' classic, A Tale of Two Cities, begins this way: "It was the best of times, it was the worst of times, it was the age of wisdom, it was the age of foolishness ... ."

According to one stock market analytical firm, GMO, today's market behavior resembles Dickens' book, which was published in 1859 and was set during the time of the French Revolution some seven decades earlier.

As the firm noted, in recent days much of the investing and financial world was focused on a meeting in Jackson Hole, Wyoming, attended by Federal Reserve chairperson Janet Yellen. But GMO analysts were watching other things and events happening in the market.

In August, the firm noted in its monthly report – reproduced in part by Zero Hedge – that Shiller P/E, a respected metric for measuring U.S. equities valuation, surpassed 27. Given that normally its range is somewhere slightly above 16, it appears that valuations are looking a bit larger than they should be.

What's more, GMO noted, the last time the Shiller P/E was above 27 was in October 2007, "and we all know how that movie ended," the GMO report said.

'A tale of mediocrity, at best'

And though no one at the analytical firm is saying that the nation and the world are set to experience another Great Recession and near-meltdown of the global economic order – and nothing is written in stone saying that stocks are not allowed to become more expensive – "we continue to maintain our bias against U.S. stocks," the firm said in its report.

At the same time, the firm said, it was tracking a widening disconnect between fundamentals of the U.S. economy, corporate America and their stocks. "It really is a tale of two cities," the analytics firms said, "one of mediocre fundamentals versus a meteoric rise in markets."

In assembling some relevant metrics pertaining to the overall health of the economy and some top-line/bottom-line figures from the S&P 500 index, the firm looked at gross domestic product growth, productivity and household income, in addition to some others like revenue and earnings for U.S. stocks, just to round out the assessment.

"It is a tale of mediocrity, at best," the firm wrote in its report.

After that, analysts contrasted those metrics with actual market returns of the S&P 500 Index spanning the past five years. "Truly meteoric," the firm wrote, adding this caveat: "As an aside, we at GMO have always been leery of drawing too many investment conclusions from staring at economic data–we are more valuation-oriented, after all–but even we are struck by the divergence."

Cool
Bitcoin is in a recovery stage right now thus it is good to invest at the moment. The value of bitcoin is expected to rise on the upcoming days/weeks so yeah it is considerably a good investment.
304  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Bitcoin - time to buy or sell? on: November 14, 2017, 05:38:26 AM
With Bitcoin falling so much this week/month, do you think it's a great opportunity to buy in or time to cash out?
Selling at these very moment is a big no for bitcoin users but a good time to buy since value is low. Advisably buy a considerably amount of bitcoin, wait for prices to bounce back then its the best time to think of selling it.
305  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: If bitcoin can be used in gambling. Is it possible to use it casino? on: November 14, 2017, 05:30:52 AM
I have no idea if casino will ever accept bitcoin as exchange for chips that is used in gambling.
Yes bitcoin can be used in gambling and yes many casinos (on line casino that is) are using bitcoin for betting in many games like slots, card games and dice.
306  Economy / Economics / Re: Is USD being used for illegal activities? on: November 14, 2017, 04:56:12 AM
I see more and more articles of the USD being used for illegal activities, such as funding of terrorists and unconstitutional, illegal wars, funding of wars that cause severe infringement of civil liberties like the war on drugs, among other things. I am pretty sure that when goons smash into convenience stores and steal stuff, then the money they probably steal is USD, which makes it criminal currency. Also, I am pretty sure that the baseball bats that majority of the goons have bought were paid for by the USD.

Also, most people collect rain water, drink raw milk, and throw cannabis seeds in soil, all three acts which are considered serious illegal felonies punishable by seriously expensive fines and extensive jail time, possibly life in prison.

Some people also walk, drive, fish, or hunt without a permit that can easily be bought for in USD.

Will this hurt USD in the long run? Will governments ban this just like they started to do with paying in cash for some services to harden the use of illegal activities, and money laundering?
Well any currency can be used for illegal activities not just US dollars alone. US dollars is being exploited for these matters mainly because of its buying powers and is the top currency worldwide.
307  Economy / Economics / Re: bitcoin benefit of saving for a long time? on: November 14, 2017, 04:42:20 AM
why so many people store their bitcoin in their wallet for a long time, whether the benefits will they get?

Come share your thoughts

Maybe because they are waiting for the value to increase than present value. We do not know what the future of bitcoin with regards to its market value wether it will increase or decrease. The longer we keep our bitcoins the higher the risk we take if we profit from it or not.
308  Economy / Economics / Re: Are electric cars bad for the oil industry? on: November 14, 2017, 04:37:23 AM
Title.

So. Electric cars are gaining in popularity, therefore the popularity of gasoline will be going down. Won't the price go down, leaving the oil industry in trouble?
Cars is only a portion of the total vehicles that uses gasoline. At the moment it does not by all means affect the price of gasoline and the oil industry.
309  Economy / Economics / Re: Why is bitcoin better than stocks, real-estate? on: November 14, 2017, 04:07:08 AM
In the traditional investment systems  there are areas like stock exchange, real estates, commodity market, forex market. Then there are hedge funds, mutual funds, equity, debentures. Next in line are precious metals like Gold, silver, diamond. Years after year and decades after decades when mainstream economics was convincing people that how one of above is better than other as it is giving returns in the range of 8% to 9% at max 10-13% a new revolution named bitcoin is rising and spreading across the world. Bitcoin has defied all conventional knowledge about return on interest. Surviving each negative publicity and doubts, incidents like mt. gox and still growing better than ever.

What do you think why bitcoin is the best investment than stocks, real-estate, gold or any other conventional investment?
With the present trending with regards to the value of bitcoin which is going up, yes bitcoin is better than any other investment at the moment that is. Stocks in stable companies would mean profit. Prices of real state such as lands and the value of gold constantly increasing as time goes buy and it is also profitable. Therefore if we are thinking long term bitcoin is no way better than the other form of investments.
310  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin or gold? on: November 14, 2017, 12:29:16 AM
If you had to convert all your wealth to either Bitcoin or gold and keep it there for 10 years, which would you choose? Keep in mind the fact that Bitcoin has only been around for 5 years, and could be fundamentally different in any number of ways in 10 years.

Short term i would choose bitcoin but long term would be gold. The value of bitcoin at the moment is good but constantly fluctuating. While the value of gold is constantly increasing as time passes by. Consider also the fluidity of both item and gold has a big advantage over bitcoin when it comes to that aspect.

312  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why you should focus more on saving bitcoins than selling your bitcoins on: November 02, 2017, 12:59:52 AM
Bitcoin has become the world most valuable asset and the value keeps going higher!

Why not we should focus on saving more bitcoins than selling our last remaining bitcoins?

I read and hear from a lot of guys owning bitcoin saying, should I sell my bitcoins?

The issues is, if you sell all your bitcoins when are you going to buy at lower price?

There's no guarantee when exactly bitcoin price will surely come down.

Share your thoughts about what you think guys. Smiley
For me i would rather sell my bitcoins and save it for my future rather than saving bitcoin its too risky. Scammers and hackers are everywhere so i think there is no assurance that your bitcoin will be secured. But its up to you on how you take good care of your savings.
313  Economy / Speculation / Re: At what price point do you think BTC will become more stable? on: November 02, 2017, 12:56:22 AM
As everyone knows BTC goes through large fluctuations - do you think this will always be the case or we'll get to a price point where a sort of stabilisation will occur and fluctuations will calm down?
I think bitcoin will never be stable because as long as the damands become higher the price will increase. And as you can observe the history of bitcoin price the more it makes popular the price will getting high. I dont have any idea that bitcoin will be stable.
314  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is it possible to Buy a Car with Bitcoin without convert my bitcoin to Fiat. on: November 02, 2017, 12:52:17 AM
i am trying to buy a car with my bitcoin without convert my bitcoin to Fiat if its possible suggest me any idea.
I think this would be possible if one country accept bitcoin as a means of payment or if the company adopted bitcoin as a means of payment. If your country doesnt recognize bitcoin i think this will be hard to make it possible. I wish that they could accept bitcoin so that it is easy to transact and buy cars.

316  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: is it risky to turn all my money to bitcoins? on: October 30, 2017, 12:03:43 PM
is it risky to turn all my money to bitcoins? anyhow this money sits in the bank and do nothing for!
Yes turning all your money into bitcoin is really risky because bitcoin i think is not really secured because a lot of scammers are also there to scam you anytime. So if you want to invest with bitcoin you must invest only the half of your money. But if youre a risk taker i think you can do it.
317  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What is BTC for you? on: October 30, 2017, 12:00:32 PM
What is bitcoin for you? Is it a chance or a scheme to get rich? Or is it actually to keep your wealth to yourself.
What lead you into bitcoin world and what's keeping you here?
For me bitcoin is a great opportunity that help a lot of people. Bitcoin is really benefited us a lot because it gives us financial freedom. Through bitcoin your life will changed. So bitcoin for me is opportunity that will definitely change your life.
318  Local / Others (Pilipinas) / Re: Bakit and ibang tao scam ang tingin nila sa BITCOIN on: October 29, 2017, 12:40:26 PM

319  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: New user bitcoin !? on: October 29, 2017, 12:34:52 PM
As a new user, can I start using Bitcoin without having to understand the technical details?
Before you start something you must understand first the features of it. Just like bitcoin it is hard to understand what bitcoin is so that you must gather information about it in order for you to have knowledge about it. Your knowledge about bitcoin will help to become successful.
